So I'm part way through my second run of engage and I'm not clear on how cooking works. I see that different characters can get different titles and have dishes they're good at cooking, but it's not at all clear to me how you can affect what title you get. I save scummed Anna making her expert dish and no matter what ingredients I used or didn't use, it was an ordinary dish. Is the RNG sort of predetermined like bond rings? Are they just modifiers to the roll and mine was so low that even with Anna I couldn't get anything good? I looked in the spreadsheet and couldn't find much info on this. Thanks in advance!

That kind of makes sense. So then to clarify, it would be that he joins in the first available chapter when he's in the camp on your third route. 4 for SB(cause of the brother from CF) and 5 for the others after the monastery falls.

I don't have wiki access, and I don't know that I want it since I'm pretty much done with data collection for now. Would someone be willing to add the stuff I did contribute to this thread for me? I'll summarize here. 1. To recruit Leonie in Scarlet Blaze, you need to have recruited Byleth and Jeralt. 2. To recruit Gatekeeper, you need to be on chapter 5 of your final route, not just your third playthrough. 3. Animal crossing Amiibo cards do work.

I actually do have a couple of packs of series 5 animal crossing amiibo cards. I was able to scan 5, and then got told I hit the daily limit. I got 5 onions, 5 albinean berries, and 6000g(1000,2000,3000.) Seems to work just fine.

That clarification is extremely helpful, thanks! Frustrating that it's so unclear though.

So I've seen a lot of classes in this game where the tutorial says to press and hold X during a strong attack to shorten the charge time of the next class action. I've tried to do this, and found that it works maybe 10% of the time, at the most. Is there some trick to this I'm missing? I feel like when it works, I see that the gauge starts partially filled.

I can now confirm that I got the gatekeeper in Chapter 5 of Azure Gleam. This seems to confirm that you have to be on your final route(not third playthrough) and then you get him in chapter 5. This is when he first shows up in your camp anyway, as he's not there in chapter 4 on any route.

Have we factored in the discounts caused by food buffs?

I will definitely keep an eye out and report back! If the requirement is just that you do two different routes, then chapter 5 makes sense, because that's when the gatekeeper shows up(since he is at garreg mach before that point, at least from what I've seen in Scarlet Blaze and Golden Wildfire.)

The stuff I was reading on other sites didn't exactly apply to me, which is why I was curious. The unlocking all characters thing makes sense, because I've now done 2 scarlet blaze runs and just started chapter 5 of my golden wildfire run, and that's what people say unlock him. If it's all characters, then i won't get him until I finish golden wildfire and start azure gleam. I'll keep an eye out for him to see if I can help confirm. Thanks!

That's really annoying. Without getting into spoilers, does that paralogue have route specific stuff in it? Cause if it doesn't, I'll just save at the route split so I can see what's in it.

The mentioned paralogue did not appear in my first scarlet blaze playthrough where I killed byleth and jeralt. Now I’ll test this in my runs of the other two routes. I’m not sure if I wanna do a third scarlet blaze run with him recruited to test that. I actually thought it was weird because I expected to see one and didn’t.
