  1. The Apothecary Divine skill affects Concoct. You can use Purifying seeds to get an even better effect for the whole party vs using dust. This means you can do crazy things with overheal health when combined with the Cleric support ability, max out on BP, and have a crazy strong party raise, all without spending further BP.
  2. In fact all the "Begnion" characters have a lot of reason NOT to return to Begnion. Makalov - His last career in Begnion was being coerced into joining forces with a bunch of poachers. He's a lout with a huge number of debts all over the place. To many parties, he's a dead man if he ever shows his face again. Marcia is the only one who allows him to stay in anyone's good graces, which brings up #2... Marcia - Disgraced pegasus knight who is hounded by debtors coming to collect from Makalov. She was forced to quit the Begnion Royal Guard out of shame in PoR, which is why she was in Crimea and joined forces with Ike. She remains in Crimea where people are less likely to come after her and her brother, and Elincia is understanding enough to give Makalov steady employment so Marcia can have peace of mind. Danved - He is not Devdan. Also, even if he was, Devdan was forced to work for Oliver due to trespassing charges and was not actually a soldier for Begnion. He could have potentially joined up with Sanaki and has the least reason to be in Crimea, but we don't know where Devdan is. There is only Danved. Astrid - Engaged to Lekain but wants nothing to do with him. Her family is extremely traditional and opposes her becoming a knight. Idolizes Makalov because he lives life on his own terms and ignores social graces, giving Astrid the courage to do the same even though technically Makalov is a terrible role model. Being in Crimea is her form of rebellion. Tanith and Sigrun returned to Begnion as they would never leave Sanaki's side. The other characters who would have returned to Begnion are Tormod and Muarim, to keep emancipating laguz from slavery. Sadly after Tormod delivers news of the going-ons in Begnion to Sothe in Daein, he's basically never seen again until part 4 for no apparent reason but is in Begnion *somewhere*. In general it would be a bad idea to make an extremely large Begnion faction of characters who you'd only see again in Begnion, as you actually enter Begnion late in the game. Availability is already a major issue in the game and Sigrun and Tanith join pretty late. It's a shame Tormod, Vika and Muarim don't even join alongside them as they were also working as agents for Sanaki.
  3. I think investing in a flier who comes as early as Vanessa is a huge boon, even if Tana's growths are better. 7 more chapters of availability, with many of those chapters having free deployment, in a game that's only 21 chapters long is a massive advantage in a run with no grinding. Tana's only better on paper or if you commit to catching her up in the tower, unless Vanessa's as screwed as the OP's.
  4. Yeah, I've been off work for a bit so I joined a static in the hopes that I finish the raid tier before next patch (and me going back to work) in September. After a number of roster changes, we've managed to clear Guardian after about 3 weeks of prog. Our new smn who joined us this week is particularly a huge help, since we started with a blm who wasn't super comfortable with their rotation.
  5. The dancer buffs are extremely strong multipliers on damage. It's actually a very useful subjob, especially with the divine skill. The localization only says it affects foes, but it actually applies to buffs that target allies too. In this case it makes Prim a fairly good hybrid with either apothecary for a cheap, strong aoe heal and multi-turn status immunity (!!), or with cleric for party-wide elemental damage reflection (!!!). Alfyn and Ophilia can do the same with dancer as their sub job as well, although Alfyn breaks the game with concoct and is generally pretty busy pumping up BP across the team. That said, divine skills take a long time to unlock until around chapter 3, which makes it slightly harder for her to get off the ground. Then again, summoning powerful townsfolk is an extremely effective way to get in a lot of extra damage in the early game with a lucky seduction.
  6. I just want to pull Gorg to be honest... I'm only missing him, Newt, and KOS-MOS (predictable on those last two). He just *happens* to have the skills I need to finish Ursula's quest once and for all and he's nowhere to be seen! I hate gacha pull systems.
  7. Ophilia character analysis
  8. Yeah, Therion is needed for purple chests. It's a bit of a pain because Tressa is my main character and I can only have three of thr others, but everyone is so good! The usual team as of chapter 3:
  9. Voldo's always been that way. Also the video is dead because apparently Bamco is really bad about leaking trailers without meaning to or something. But yeah, just Voldo doing Voldo things. It was kind of a given that our favourite(?) crab walking gimp suit man would be back.
  10. I think the info drop will be June 16th at 2 am during the live letter. The MH producer will be there as a special guest.
  11. If i went back I'd probably actually prefer to simplify more. It's more my style to stick with texture and simple shapes for BGs. At any rate I revisited some previous ideas of mine...
  12. Yeah I expect the game to ferry us to Garlemald at long last. We'll get the confirmation on where we're going at Fan fest for sure. I'm planning on getting tickets but haven't 100% worked out who I'll be going with yet, though. I'm PUMPED for the Monster Hunter crossover which is apparently going to be a long term crossover event!
  13. Most of the spinoffs in the EXTREMELY long gap between Persona 4 and 5 were not handled by the main team. Arena and Dancing All Night are not even in house with Atlus. It's mostly Sega promoting their best selling series, as a large company would want to do, but Persona is keeping Atlus and SMT alive. Atlus is frankly not good at HD development, which has led to extreme delays of any console release from them. Before Persona 5, the only game their main team managed to release was Catherine. A sub team managed to push out TMS with assistance from IntSys. While Persona certainly feels overexposed, it's mostly because of the construction of ports for the PSP and Vita. Enhanced ports have always been Atlus's way to stretch the life of their games across generations because they just don't make many games, especially after the phase out of the PS2. The gap between SMT4A and 5 is likely going to be a lot shorter than the gap between 3 and 4 now that Atlus finally has more teams and more of an HD asset library built up from Persona 5.
  14. TB was always a huge consumer advocate in the PC market with his stellar Port Report series of videos. Even if you'd never watched his videos, he was a huge influence on YouTube, on PC gaming, and games criticism. Despite what some may say about him being a divisive person, he always pushed for game companies to do better. To stop being lazy. To treat consumers with respect. He gave exposure to many good causes, uplifting many great, smaller projects while lambasting lazy ports, lawsuits issued in bad faith, and the growing low effort, asset flip cesspool. He will be missed. And for those who don't know, one of TB's greatest regrets was not following up on his health issues as soon as they occurred. By the time he found out he had colon cancer, it had already spread to his liver and spine. So while he was a PC gaming advocate first, never forget that surviving cancer often revolves around early detection and intervention. It was something he talked about in his very frank videos about his own health care. Unfortunately, while TB survived far longer than most people in his position, his time here was already known to be so much shorter than someone so positively influential ever deserved.
  15. Yeah, seeing FFTA2 Vaan's outfit in game is really cool. The colours really pop and it's nice to see some FF protagonist replica gear that isn't locked to events or subscription time added in. The new dungeon looks neat too. Whenever they announce the winners of the current contest I'll post my entries. I tried really hard on them in a very limited time frame since I was on vacation for most of it so I kinda doubt they'll win but oh well. This patch has a lot of fluff to begin with considering how much is coming in 4.3x patches but there's a lot of quality of life changes I'm looking forward to in general.
  16. I can't unsee T-elos's arm being some double zoned, Z-shaped monstrosity. I know how it's supposed to work but it's super jank as a thumbnail...
  17. For people with an artistic side... https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/af31beaf9199192081f4df96ad09adb01b00238c Contest for ranged and melee DPS armor.
  18. Hey, thanks! I actually ended up expanding the image on request and fixing things I couldn't do in the first three hours I was working on it.
  19. Here's some stuff that I drew for the Art from the Heart stream run by our very own Elieson!
  20. I actually have a Cintiq 22HD that I use, which is a tablet monitor. Some of these were done at my workplace, but others at home. I use Photoshop CC, and have the same brushes and tablet in both places. I did start off with a smaller tablet long ago and all I can really say is that it takes practice and that you may be more comfortable with a program like Manga Studio or Paint Tool SAI or even Flash that allows you to adjust your stroke weight and position when you use a lineart pen. I also find that zooming in and drawing with a fast stroke helps so you draw without your pen wobbling all over the place. Back then I also had a scanner and drew on paper a lot more often than I do now. Thank you! It was fun doing lineless at the time since I was struggling to gain back my style from over a year of drawing just one thing. I modelled all the kitties off real life kitties and tried to match their personality to common D&D classes.
  21. Oh yeah. I'm starting to set up a schedule so I can continually post just more stuff in general and be a bit more active like I used to be. I just wanted to draw cute kitties to be honest! My work friends and I were passing cat doodles back and forth through our group chat. All the cats involved were based off my cats, my family's cats and my friend's cats. I was also having a hard time drawing non chibis as my work has been focused on unrealistic proportions for a pretty long time now. I really want to talk about the show I worked on more but somehow I've been working on cute dinosaur related things for the better part of a year. Thank you!
  22. It sure does, in many ways. In other news I finally managed to get through divebombs without dying!! https://clips.twitch.tv/MoralGlamorousSnailDatBoi I think Answers maaaay mute the VODs at some points because of copyright shenanigans though. I hope not.
