  1. This 100%. I'm not sure what else to say about him other than the man's drip is on point. I used him(in a dlc run) just to get that sexy beard blue. In all seriousness of the post though; I found Vander to only be useful for LTC runs and even then he is replaced fairly early. I play exclusively on maddening. I give him a 5/10. The only reason he gets a 5 is because of a lucky crit he got me to finish chapter 3 one turn earlier.
  2. Alear imo is challenging to gauge since the game has changed drastically before the well was implemented. I prefer he female Alear due to design in the divine dragon class compared to the male counterpart. That being said, you could snowball Alear, (easy to do on Maddening due to early recruitment and extra EXP from Marth Sword) OR you can build Alear into a support unit. I have beaten the game several times exclusively on maddening, and found Support Alear was by far my favorite build. Pure offense, I found making Alear into a Wyvern Knight to be useful for the better str growth. But Support Alear imo, works really well as. (Non DLC)(AND NONWELL) Corrin Alear speaks for itself. Set up whatever dragon vein you need. OR make Alear into a Martial Master. Martial Master Alear with Lucina is just bonkers broken with the amount of avoid you gain. This can technically be done as a Divine Dragon as well, though I like having the 100% Bonded Shield vs 90%. Byleth Alear support is really really good. +3 to all stats is very nice, and Alear is the only Dragon Unit you have access to until super late game. This was my go to pick for LTC runs. I won't comment on other builds, as they involve DLC, and OP mentioned this is without DLC. What makes Toothpastechan really good is the personal skill. The extra 3 attack is very nice to have, and it makes Alear into a great support if played around. I gave Alear 8/10 because of it.
  3. She works really well. I gave her avoid fro Marth before chapter 10. With the Sigurd engrave on a Bolganone, she was a magical dodge tank. I gave her Soren. She has high enough dex growth to easily hit boltings, but even better she crits a lot too. Nothing feels better than standing in grass, and then hitting an enemy for a massive bolt crit from far away.
  4. I actually have her as a sage in one of my runs.
  5. I ran Rafal with Tiki for fog breath to assist with the terrain.
  6. She makes the best warrior in my opinion for anyone who uses bows more than axes. I have chrom on her with speed/dex 5. (2nd skill not learned yet). Over 40 speed and dex and close to 50 str is nutty. Plus with her personal skill, in combo with Chrom's crit damage and surprise attack you are looking at a crazy killer. And getting the 30 magic radiant bow damage while engaged is really nice. All of this can be done as a sniper (sniper may actually be better overall for crit) but I found warrior just looks better and has better growths/melee weapon access. Plus having the back up range with long bow is really nice. (Not to mention as a back up Robin backup attacks can't miss) so it is just free added damage. Look at what you made me do! Proceeds to throw axe in sky and slam it on my enemy's skull
  7. Glad to hear it. Keep us uo to date on your run. Would highly recommend a fun rng run after on maddening. It is (at least in my opinion) fun to see units you may have not used become God tier due to the rng aspect of it.
  8. You said fixed growths? 100% use Zelkov over Yunaka. Her damage falls off hard. (Though I made mine into a warrior for radiant bow instead) I haven't actually played maddening with fixed growths in a while. I find rng to be more fun. I would 100%replace Lapis with Goldmary if you are going for chain attacks. That being said, with dlc maps ect it doesn't matter. You can easily make any unit into a good one.
  9. Played through multiple times on maddening, challenge runs, ltc and more. That being said combat wise, this is the best in the series for the most part. Story wise... it feels like the story was created to just show off the combat. Combine the 2 together and you have a fun game to play overall. I would give it an 8/10 now due to the quality of life updates they eventually released. But at launch, I gave it a 6. If you are a fan of the fire emblem games, then this is a love story to the fans overall. The story, generic and lacking, is forgettable at best but not as bad as some people are making it out to be. But the combat really makes it shine. I would 100% love them to take the combat in this game and use it as a base for a future game. I still play the game now just to have fun runs and see how OP I can make my set ups.
  10. skirms scales based on your units strengths as a whole.
  11. I added Alfred, mainly because I did want to use at least 1 dlc character this run as well and he fits with a good amount of supports overall. My final team will be the following: Alear, Citrinne, Diamont, Alcryst, Yunaka, Timerra, Panette, Merrin, Seadall, Alfred, Ivy, Veyle, Anna and Rafal. Anna has the least of the supports, but I really like her, so she stays >_<.
