  1. Looks like Lysithea and Sylvain have the most supports of anyone after Byleth, at 17 and 18 respectively. Though I give the edge to Lysithea, considering she manages 11 supports that reach A/S versus Sylvain's 6. Poor guy must be getting rejected left and right.
  2. I don't really have any breather games to fill the gaps, so I'll either play through everything if it's good or probably drop it and get around to it later if it's not, as I did with Revelations. But you're right that the game is starting to sound almost daunting in scope. I intend to fully play through all routes at least once, but even the idea of playing through the same route again with different recruited characters just to see the dialog differences is starting to sound exhausting. I never thought I'd say this, but I kind of wish Phoenix Mode was still here to speed things along.
  3. I'm more interested if there's a way for her to use Catherine's Thunderbrand, considering Charon's crest is on it. That would make Mortal Savant a very interesting option for her, at least to me.
  4. Ah. I rarely venture into Youtube's comments section.
  5. You know, I do actually wonder what the power dynamics really are in this case. Byleth's being given this teaching position because of some combination of their displayed abilities, their famous dad, and whatever Rhea might know/suspect. They're still ultimately a random outsider not everyone at the monastery is even sure they can trust (Seteth, for instance), so it's a bit hard for me to imagine Byleth could actually exert the kind of power you'd see with more conventional teachers. Doubly so when you consider that most of these students are scions of nobility or other wealthy families, some of which no doubt have much stronger ties to the church than a sellsword's son. And even that's assuming such power plays can exist with the student in question; many of them appear to be here solely to better themselves for when they go on to serve the roles they've already been guaranteed from birth, and an F on their report card isn't going to change that. The only move Byleth can pull that's coming to my mind is maneuvering them to get killed in battle, but that's hardly limited to the students. Once Byleth's presumably leading the army in the war phase even the former teachers are at their mercy, just like everyone Robin and Corrin may have wanted to romance.
  6. A finale path that closes out the overarching story could be good, but only with a few caveats. First, the other routes would need to stand on their own and not feel incomplete or invalidated by this 4th route. I could get behind three routes of country politics followed by a route of dragon slaying and Sothis exposition, but the three countries better not come out better off than their own routes in the process. Second, I can get behind anyone being recruitable, but it's boring to have everyone be recruitable. It just feels contrived. I'd rather have to pick 12 favored students to join me while the other 12 tragically fall in battle or something. I don't know, just don't be everyone.
  7. Perhaps a certain someone will have no choice but to (try to) eliminate him as he clings to unreasonable ideas of justice.
  8. It's been a while, but I seem to recall not being able to play Smash Ultimate at 9pm when it launched. But then I just changed my Switch's timezone setting to EST and tried again, and it worked fine. So if it doesn't work initially that should still be an option.
  9. Okay, let's recap: Hilda's lazy and doesn't want to bother with fighting. Marianne has no confidence and wants to be left at home. Ignatz probably doesn't even want to be here in the first place. It's no wonder Claude is pushing for friendship to settle everything. Otherwise he'll have to fight the whole war by himself.
  10. Poor Sylvain, destined to be overshadowed by all the news coming out of E3.
  11. I wonder, there is a scroll bar on the right, so I think it's quite possible one more tier exists below. Only question I had was where's the Noble/Commoner tier if its already scrolled to the top, but as this is an "Instruct" screen they might just not include that here since everyone already qualifies for it without any instruction.
  12. Definitely some interesting stuff there. I'll hold off on analyzing too hard since tomorrow's Treehouse segment will likely be more in depth, but I at least see that "Seteth" is greenie's official spelling (also "Lysithea", if anyone was doubtful). And then there were these two:
  13. Last name マクネアリー, looks like "McNairy" from what I could find. "McNealy/McNeely" is also possible, but that more often seems to be マクネリ or マクニーリー.
  14. Oh wow, from that description she's practically a political hostage. That's very interesting.
  15. Tricky, tricky. Byleth will probably be an infantry swordsman, so with that in mind: Edelgard/Dimitri/Claude--Frankly, I'd be happy with any of the lords, so I've built the rest of the team as if they weren't a consideration. If pushed I guess I'd go with Dimitri since I'm curious about the "shadow" he's carrying, but they're all viable. Ingrid--Gotta have a pegasus knight, and she looks born for the role, not to mention she's got the prettiest design in my eyes. Sylvain--Seems like a pretty cool dude, I would grab a beer with him and I don't even drink. He'd be the team's cavalier. Lysithea--I like prodigies, so she is welcome on my team. A shame Dark Mage is male only, but hopefully "Warlock" will fill that void as a female Reason class. Having said that... Marianne/Dorothea--...I also need someone with Faith, but as long as Marianne is a complete mystery I can't be sure about her. If I don't like her I'd go with Dorothea, though in that case I might switch her role with Lysithea depending on the weapon ranks. Hilda--She may want to slack off, but I'm afraid I can't pass up on twintails. She's getting an axe and headed straight for the front lines. And if that's atop a wyvern, even better. Ashe--He seems like an earnest guy, he fills the Archer void, and he comes with Locktouch. What's not to like? Dedue--For balance reasons I'd want an armored male to round out this list, so Dedue it is.
  16. Not really? There are a ton of names that are one letter off or have the same pronunciation, but only a handful that are left identical after the official translations, and even then usually only one of them will be playable and the other(s) NPCs (even "Ignatius" was a boss in Awakening first). The only exceptions I can think of are "Arthur", "Cain", and "Lorenz", all of whom have a wider gap in their respective games than Fates and Three Houses. Still, only time will tell.
  17. While they are willing to reuse names occasionally, Ignatius was a character in Fates ("Ignis" in Japan), and I suspect that would be a bit too recent for them.
