  1. Update: I downloaded Snes9x, and the ROM worked. Unfortunately, I don't like the feel of this emulator (and it looks a bit too fuzzy for me) but I guess if this is the only way I just have to deal with it. If absolutely anyone is able to get this working on Mesen-S then please let me know, since other translations for FE3 and FE4 have worked perfectly fine for me before this. Regardless, thanks for helping me!
  2. I didn't try any other emulators, so i'll see if that works. I didn't try before because I liked the feel of Mesen-S and had no problems with it up until this point (ones I couldn't fix, anyway), but if I have to use something else its not the end of the world. I guess I just assumed when it meant "didn't work" on certain emulators it meant that it wouldn't load outright. Makes me wonder why Project Naga worked on Mesen but not this...
  3. Hello everyone! Over the past year or so I've been slowly going through the entire Fire Emblem franchise from start to finish, and I've finally gotten to Thracia (which I decided to Blind Ironman, so I'll see how that goes). There's just one problem: No matter what I do the game doesn't work. I was successfully able to patch the game and get it running on Mesen-S, but once I select a save file after hitting new game it doesn't go to the opening cutscene and I lose all control (the music is still going though, so it didn't freeze). Has anyone encountered this issue before or know how to deal with it? Thanks. For reference, this is the translation I'm using: Romhacking.net - Translations - Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
  4. What is the optimal setup for SP grinding? I've been trying to get as many Valor skills as possible, but I have no idea what unit to put them on. Also any advice on easy ways to get those skills in the first place would be awesome since they are mostly stuck on seasonal units.
  5. I'm on a Windows PC. Probably should have led with that. 😕
  6. I've been playing through Gaiden as of late, but I didn't realize the emulator I was using wasn't free until it informed me my free trial was almost up (the emulator was Mesen, if you were wondering). What emulator would you recommend for NES games?
  7. Thanks. I never really utilized forging or reclassing all that much when I last tried to play it, so that might be a good solution. Is there any maps in particular that would be good for skirmishes?
  8. Recently I have been looking to start a playthrough of Awakening, but I'm afraid I'll run into the same problem as last time. When I last played, I had massive issues building supports with my weaker units. Units that I often didn't use that much but still wanted to use as a father (such as Ricken, Virion, Maribelle, etc.) were too under leveled to build up supports through combat. The only way I could even slightly improve my units was through overworld skirmishes that either will cost me dearly in Reeking Boxes or by waiting for random events to give me spawns. This has been my main obstacle from enjoying this game. It expects you to build up supports with all the characters while also expecting you to bench them. Am I missing something? Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. (Also, just for clarity I'll be playing on Hard Mode. I can figure out Lunatic Mode later lol)
