  1. After playing the future past DLC, I'm even more disappointed at how irrelevant the children are to the plot. I kinda wish they had used that for the plot over the Valm filler. Also frustrating that they introduced an entirely new race for no plot-relevant reason. The plot is just rife with missed opportunity. =/
  2. I could go on and on about the story, but I think I'd settle for fleshing out the characters who only have one or two support options. As for gameplay, replace hit+20 with literally anything. Why not a nerfed version of Deadeye or bow range+1?
  3. I picked Henry thinking "Eh I'm sure everyone's got some votes somewhere." Then I noticed Libra has 0%... Brb changing vote.
  4. Good on ya. I got to chapter 11 with only a handful of deaths in my own hard classic run (sorta similar rules to what you have), only to forget that Gangrel moves. Lost a good chunk of my units in the ensuing madness. I lived with it, but I lost my nerve after that (Hard mode reinforcements are infuriating) and just started resetting cause I couldn't really afford to lose anyone else. One of these days I'll get a no-reset run though. Good luck with the rest of your run.
  5. It always bugged me that Morgan doesn't have a bigger role in the story despite being the son/daughter of one of the main characters... Though from what people have been saying (s)he becomes more relevant in the DLC.
  6. The only things that have really bugged me are all story-related. Why introduce the Taguel if they have no plot relevance? What was the point of the Valm arc, and why are the children chapters 10X more compelling? (opinon of course) Why did they make a shit ton of supports for most of the characters, but then just fizzle out with the last 5 or so? Outside of that there's a crap ton of replay value with solid play mechanics. Outside of a few skill imbalances I have no problems anywhere else.
  7. What's your personal favorite play style? - I play the games to play them. Drafts intrigue me, but I'm not hardcore enough to try them. I once took a team somebody drafted and tried to LTC and it was a nightmare, while the comments made it sound so simple. Definitely not for me. In SS and Awakening, I prefer to play straight through, rather than skirmish, as I feel it breaks up the story too much ("We're on the run from Plegians! Let's freeze time to go to the other side of the map to kill some risen!") What's your favorite difficulty setting? - If it's my first run of the game, I start on normal to get a feel for the story and new mechanics. I switch to hard for all subsequent play-throughs, as I feel they usually hit the sweet spot on challenge and fairness. I usually leave easy and lunatic modes alone. Do fallen allies stay dead? - Originally I would hit the reset button like most people. Recently thought I've found though that not only is it a pain to reset chapters, but I personally feel it kind of kills the point of the mechanic. Now I have certain circumstances where I restart: If the game mode is so challenging (like a lunatic run) that i can't afford to lose somebody. In Awakening's case, I decided to make my first file the file that will be used for streetpass teams and all that, so I want everything unlocked, meaning everyone will stay alive on that file. If it doesn't fit these two criteria, then I take responsibility for my fallen unit, even if Anna screwed them over and not me. What sort of characters do you prefer? - If I can use them, they have a place in my party. The Ninos, the Marcus, all of them. If they have awesome personality and backstory, that's just icing on the cake. What are your favorite classes? -I typically enjoy using the lords, with the exception of Marth, Micaiah and Roy, becuse you're forced to use them most of the time and therefore just get used to their typically reliable natures. As for other classes: Cavaliers - Reliable, but kind of boring (Armor) Knights - I always like them, but recently their movement has really become glaring to me Archers - I always want to use them but mages always steal their job, especially ever since wind magic became a primary magic type. Snipers should gain 1 range like Marsmen Pegasus Knights - Hate this class so much. Not only are they often my least favorite characters, but the class is so darn fragile. It doesn't help that you usually get one early, where Axe-swingers are everywhere Clerics, Priests/Curates and Monks - Gotta have a healer on my team Mercenaries - One of my favorite classes, for their sheer reliability. Plus hero is badass as hell Fighters, Pirates, Brigands, Bandits and Barbarians - I think the only ones I consistently use are Boyd and Nolan, and I guess the FE11 ones are ok. Otherwise I find them unreliable Soldiers - Neph and Aran are two of my favorite characters in the series, stat-wise. I really wish FE10 had more supports... Thieves - Almost always likable, and their class skills are handy, especially in Awakening Myrmidons -Fragile like the Peg, BUT! They use swords, making the early going easier against all those bandits. Mages - The better version of archer. Atacks Res, 1 or 2 range, usually pretty quick. Why use archers again? Hunters, Horseman, Nomads, Rangers and Bow Knights - Oh right. Archers get horses more often. A handy class Troubadours - Gotta have healers Shamans/Dark Mages - I love the special effects dark tomes get Wyvern Riders/Dracoknights - Typically a fairly solid class. Trainees (Villager, Journeyman, Recruit and Pupil) - Kind of dislike them for the ridiculous babying they need. But seeing them dominate 10 chapters later always feels good Dancers, Bards and Herons - I can live without them, not that they aren't appreciated Manaketes, Laguz and Taguel - With buyable gemstones I think they're pretty good. Otherwise they fall under the "Too awesome to use" trope Sorry for the longer post. I just had a lot of things I wanted to say about the classes.
  8. -Prominent voice work -Killer rabbits. Especially confusing since their existence has zero impact on the story. -Confessions - Eh I guess a lot of what everyone else said
  9. The main one that comes to mind is Lucina and Lon'qu. Not necessarily romantic, but she beat the pants off of him to be the champ of Basilio. How does he feel getting beaten by his fear? I also wish more cross-gen supports existed and though I understand the reasoning, I also wish that father and sibling supports weren't generic no matter who you paired. A crap ton of work yeah, but whenever I go to the barracks and see two units talking for the hell of it it sort of bothers me. I also noticed that a lot of characters only have one or two non-romantic supports. The marriage system is important yes, but surely we could have a little more bro-talk? Last gripe is the characters with almost no supports/can only marry avatar. It makes some already flat characters even less interesting, or squander the potential of the somewhat developed ones.
  10. Quite an amusing convo. I don't know how people do that to themselves. How can you say something so blatantly wrong and still try to save face?
  11. My cousin had FE7 and wanted to use my Game Boy Player. (The GBA hookup on the Game Cube). I didn't really know what was going on, but it had a guy who looked like Roy! It had to be awesome! Then one summer he let me try the game and I was completely hooked. I was so excited when Sacred Stones was announced, even though I later thought FE7 was so much better.
  12. Further along now and I'm really liking Inigo and Owain. Their C support is hilarious and Owain is made of ham. "FIGHTERS! ASSEMBLE!" Cervantes gets mad props for being a bit of an Eggman look-alike and having some hilarious lines for a minor villain. I'm also a huge fan of Brady, which makes me sad cause I probably won't use him as much as I would like. My Avatar's wife Anna along with Morgan team up with Levin swords and kick Ass with our ridiculous magic stats.
  13. I don't think I like a single one of the base Pegs. Sumia's Chrom obsession irks me to no end, Cynthia's hyperactiveness coupled with an irritating voice bothers me Cordelia...just bugs me for some reason. Others... Yarne. He's funny, but it bugs me that they used a really cool design for a total wimp character. If you showed me his portrait without telling me anything about him I would never have figured. Severa. As many others have said, manipulative bitch doesn't do it for me. Other than that, I'm okay with all the others...that I've used anyway. Sully, Nowi, Vaike, Fred, Greg, and Tharja hit the bench early on, so we'll see if I like them or not.
  14. You can switch the skills around so Aptitude is the bottom skill.
