I could see MAYBE one of Rayman or Geno, but I feel like we'll get an even split between western/eastern properties again in terms of popularity (and Geno is more popular in the west than Japan), but I'm also basing that purely on conjecture haha.

It's more refined, I know an issue people have with Secret of Mana (if they have one) is usually how clunky it feels, and SD3 improves on that, every character also feels super unique instead of just having to level up weapons (which you don't have to do). Two characters even specialize in quick multiple hitting attacks, those being Hawk and Kevin. So all you generally have to worry about is fighting, leveling and your class branches. Although you may find some similar issues to a degree? It's just not gonna be as egregious, but that's my take on it honestly. I'd say give it an honest go (maybe try it on emulation with the translation before you purchase the collection or remake). While I adore SD3, i'm not gonna be like "OMG YOU SHOULD LOVE IT" because tastes vary.

I know the internet is a bit mixed overall, depending where one lives, but i'm curious where you all stand? I've only played 3 Dragon Quest games, but one of them was 8 and DQ8 is one of my favorite RPGs period. So seeing Eight in smash got me interested in the Hero by default, his mechanics with magic look interesting and fun and i'm just glad to see the grandfather of JRPGs in smash. (Not to mention Toriyama's art). Banjo I have tons of friends who are into it, but oddly enough for one reason or another I haven't gotten to it yet, despite being a big platformer buff, this will motivate me and the games have always looked rather charming and fun.

I'm still pretty much all in on my assumption that it's gonna be all 3rd parties. However i'm not sure at all who they'll decide for the next 2. I feel like if Capcom gets another it'll be between Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, if Namco gets someone it'll be between Soul Calibur, Tales and maybe Dark Souls? But besides that I have no clear guesses, even those are rather loose.

Ultimate's balance is the best we've seen since 64 lmao what are you going on about, and considering we have 70ish characters that's pretty impressive. Sure we have outliers, but we have tons of results for most characters. Plus I don't think you play anywhere near a competitive level so you can't talk anything about balance. Tiers mean absolutely nothing until the absolute highest level of possible play and even then player skill still can dictate who wins and who loses (and usually does).

So, this rpg is one of my favorites of all time. If anyone has any general questions about it i'll be happy to answer it, this is basically the Mana equal to that of Mother 3 finally getting officially localized too. Can't wait for that built from the ground up remake coming around too, already looking better than the mediocre remake of Secret of Mana.

E3 sold me on FF7R, I was probably gonna get it anyways, but them finally explaining how the damn combat works went a very long way. Cloud and Barrets banter was good, and most folks look to be in character so far, hopefully Aerith doesn't get hit by "i'm a patron saint" because she really wasn't.

So it seems as if Millium got a new English va. I wish her the best, since this is the game where Millium gets some more focus. She has her work cut out for her.

From what I've heard the Switch port got fixed up a fair bit by patches in the months after release, and the script is finally alright overall.

How were you able to find it? I keep going to the video game store near where I live, and I can't find a single copy of it. I found a PS4 copy on Amazon! And my favorite character to use thus far is probably Hummel but I like using everyone.

A proper Mario & Sonic crossover, not olympics. Still waiting for Ys vs Trails of Cold Steel in the Ys 8 engine as well.

Actually Zero is more important to CS3 and 4 than AO is overall (AO is still key but not as much). Although the 15th anniversary game is looking to be 3rd/AO/CS2 for it's main context.
