  1. It's also noteable that the lady has no practical reason to even exist. Dewey up there has a sidequest where you need to get him a ladder so he can finally get off that shelf. But Payop got nothing. No sidequest. No gameplay hint. No lore. Maybe she is going to become the main villain of Arzette 2 or something.
  2. I do wonder what he is doing to that chair, though. In any case, I suppose Ophelia's time feckery was a different level of villainy than anything Morti did. And it seems like in the case of a Game Over, she actually succeeds in killing the player character. And in her case, they aren't even gradeschoolers. ...wait, were the two people in the library in Arzette based on them?
  3. It's kinda funny how when Ganon is confronted by Link, he is confidently posturing. But when he is confronted by Zelda, he is cowering and starts blasting in a panic. Can't exactly blame him after what happened to Hectan. Girl is scary. That also explains why in Faces of Evil, Ganon waited until the darkest nightmare hour, when not moon or sun has risen, in order to kidnap Zelda. He was no doubt worried that if he tried that when she was awake, she would turn him into another puddle for Duke Onklet to clean up.
  4. That visual style is so unsettling. This kinda Newgrounds-like skeleton animation style but with overly detailed sprites... reminds me a lot of porn games, honestly. Or of mobile game ads before they were all replaced by RAIDSHADOWLEGENDS.
  5. I do appreciate that the sleepy boi is on the cover of the 30xx soundtrack. They know who the real poster boy of the game is. Well, that and the fact that the Echocaves have a sound theme. With speakers in the background and everything. But who cares about that?
  6. I suppose the guard likely stands there just to draw your attention. To nudge you towards this being the path to take if you want to reach the Southern part of the map. After all, there isn't really a clear path South at all. Mountains have mostly been decorative so far, always being impossible to reach on foot due to thickets or cliffs in the way. So you might end up conflating them with the impassible terrain that prevents you from reaching them in the first place. I think the only exception on previous maps is that one narrow part in chapter 2 that the lone armor knight is standing on.
  7. Nothing you said is in any way applicable to what is being talked about. Although given how much like shouting "Xd" and "lmao", I imagine you aren't actually sincere about what you are posting in the first place.
  8. Uh, Armagon was whining about a supposed double standard against Japanese games. Do you not read what the posts you are quoting are replying to?
  9. Plotwall aside, those mountains are also annoying because not all units can even cross them. 1st tier cavalry can't, and of course Arden is screwed over yet again. Also weird decision of placing a Silesian Wind Mage on the bridge. As if he is actively stopping you from saving their asses.
  10. There is a double standard, but it's the entire opposite of what you are describing. Imagine any "Western" game getting away with shit like Fates' molestation mini-game or Awakening letting you impregnate this kid ...or letting one of your friends impregnate her so you can impregnate her daughter instead, as the case may be.
  11. A faint voice yelling "buuuuuuuullshiiiiiiiiiit" can be heard from across the mountains. I mean, there isn't really a practical reason to lay siege to that castle. Everyone can just go home. Of course we are talking about Sigurd. Doesn't matter if it's impractical. He sees a castle, he's gotta have it. I can see why Berwick Saga ditched the Luck stat. It's useless. The only time the Luck stat and universal critical hit rates were even sorta neat was in Tear Ring Saga. Since characters there have so many relationships that it gives low luck units generally options to work around that vulnerability, while those with Luck to spare benefit greatly from the added flexibility. Berwick Saga has control stations on one side of a bridge that can be used to freely lower or raise it. Kinda like in Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun.
  12. Tear Ring Saga, naturally. Frankly, it actually goes overboard with that. Like, do we really need a scene of Count Marlon and Raffin discussing Runan's arrival when they are about to meet him anyway? They are just telling each other stuff that the audience already knows about.
  13. If it's anything like Berwick Saga, the duke might be working as Sigurd's secretary.
  14. Yeah, but since she is brainwashed anyway, logically she would have had a different name forced on her. Seeing how the name of the missing wife of Lord Sigurd of House Chalphy would hardly be entirely unknown. That would make more sense. But it would also just needlessly complicate things. So I most certainly don't mind this getting streamlined and everyone going by the names we know them as. Being stuck for a year in a snow country alongside traitors to the crown, probably. This seems so awkward. If he made it all the way to Grandbell, why would he flee all the way here instead of his own territory? This also makes it much less believable that Tiltyu is still sticking around. Not to mention it's also contrived that it was apparently specifically Reptor who stopped Claude from reaching the king. Alvis is the guy who acts as the king's right hand. Keeping letters or visitors away from the king would be his job. But of course Sigurd can't know yet that Alvis is part of the conspiracy, or he would toss out the invite to his BBQ. I would say that it's much easier to imagine that Claude simply recognized the writing at the wall and realized that with Reptor and Langobalt in Augustria, he was not going to make it back to the capital, so he joined the trip to Silesia. For Tiltyu being suddenly confronted by a huge army lead by her dad must have been scary too. So I could see her sticking around for the time being. From here on out Claude will keep alluding to the fact that he got some bigger spoilers from the tower than he said. Though he will only directly state so in a conversation with Aideen if she is his wife. Also that convo is one of only two ways to get the Rescue Staff in Gen 1. The other one is Aideen getting it from Azel if they are married in chapter 4. ...but since it's an A rank staff, it's actually quite hard to pass down in that case. Maybe it's done that way since Sylvia already has a convo with Claude listed. In any case it's interesting how despite the story pushing Levin and Fury so hard, in gameplay Sylvia is heavily favored. Almost as if that couple is meant to be your punishment if you don't keep Sylvia away from Levin.
  15. What a horrible night to not have a leg augment.
  16. Getting exploited by the gacha software is neither an achievement nor a badge of honor. She did however manage to get into Thracia 776 and was referenced in Tear Ring Saga. So that's nice. Between her, Raquel, Sylvis and Penneloupe, she also seems to have started her own archetype too.
  17. But you also just got a new healer. You could most certainly do with more heal staffs. I guess this confirms that Claude was officially kaga'd and needed the ladies to keep his 5 defense ass protected. Well, in the old patch this was phrased as an assumption rather then a certainty. In any cases, it's impossible to trade those weapons. So without glitches, it's gonna stick with whoever starts with it. ...which funnily enough means that there ended up being no practical reason to code those weapons to require holy blood in the first place. Because there is simply no way to get those weapons on someone who doesn't have the matching holy blood in the first place. Continuing the trend of Ulir just kinda drawing the short stick among the crusaders. Eh, just keep trying until it works. Tiltyu is funny like that.
  18. If Sunny were to disable the anti-magic cone now, would Bloodfeast turn back into a tiny lizard? Not sure how a Beholder's anti-magic cone interacts with polymorph spells. But it seems like it doesn't actually permanently dispel magic effects. It merely suppresses them inside it's area of effect. https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1299.html In any case, I don't think Calder is gonna turns this around right now. Sure, the Order members are all damaged enough that another fire breath could be used to justify taking out most of them. But since he already used it twice, that would just be really lame in terms of writing.
  19. These days the gap between Lost Age and Dark Dawn seems quite small compared to the gap between Dark Dawn and now. Really brilliant that Camelot ended Dark Dawn the way they did. Pretty much ensuring there would never be another Golden Sun, because any possible sequel would have to deal with the baggage left behind by that terrible 2010 game.
  20. Dragonrider is a funny class. They are basically dragon trainees. Just worse in every area than standard Dragonknights. She is rockin' that animated Eowyn look almost as good as Reese. I suppose with the blond hair and the headband, she is quite a good match for Bridget. Some epic foreshadowing there that Bridget would pick up swordfighting down the line.
