  1. This wouldn't be a problem if it was Berwick Saga Fog of War desert maps.
  2. Cut the poor guy some slack. He does have generic stats. But it is funny how he got such a big boost between maps. He is even higher leveled than Eldigan now.
  3. The Cross Knights probably shittalk him all the time. I mean, he had their lord imprisoned for no reason. That's gotta be enough to piss them off. And I would also guess that the regular knights are less inclined to forget about the fact that this almost lead to Eliot taking over Nordion than their leader is. They might even feel a sense of gratitude for Sigurd protecting their princess when they couldn't. His sword also gives him the Critical skill. Which means he has a 38% chance to hit you with 104 attack.
  4. "Too bad dad's not here to see you FAIL!" "I'll do you fast, Peppy old pal." Kinda funny how Star Wolf started out with only 4 members, considering they were designed for Star Fox 2 where Star Fox had 6 members. But I suppose back then they weren't matched up against specific members of the Star Fox team. And you had to beat them all with the 2 pilots you chose.
  5. Part of the ongoing theme that swords are the key to a woman's heart. She is like the 3rd girl that has been gifted a sword at this point. Just for the record, yes this conversation does go differently if you wait to visit this village until later. It's kinda like a reverse version of the old man in the house near the start in the Ordon map in Vestaria Saga. If you visit early, he kills himself while cursing your name. But if you don't visit the house and manage to get the Ordon to stand down, he won't kill himself and even give you a Claymore. It's also B rank staff. So Nanna can't actually inherit it unless her father is Claude. Might also be worth pointing out that the staff has 10 range in this game. Oh hey, first time we got one of those in the game. Considering no one else is doing it here, maybe this guy is the reason that bosses bragging about their Thunder Sword becomes a bit of a running gag in the Saga games. Edit: Wait, I keep forgetting the VS1 guy was shouting about his Wind Sword. I never went for this, but maybe it's possible to have Lachesis survive enemy phase by putting all her weapons into the storage before talking to Eldigan so that she automatically equips the Earth Sword.
  6. Daddy screamed REEEEAL good before he DIED! Not exactly a line you'd expect from a script where people use "crud" as a swear.
  7. Less than one month left for the Freedom Planet 2 Switch port. Arzette, Freedom Planet 2... so many games, so little time. They need to add more hours to the day with a patch.
  8. I suppose if we count debuffs, there was Märchen giving his allies -50 hit and avoid in a 3 tile radius, because no one can stand being near him. Taken to the next level later in the game, where this skill is also on some opportunistic NPC "allies" who insist that you need help in finishing off the broken, battered and bleeding remains of Ernst's forces. And the effect stacks too. Barzelphen is similar, with his terrible cologne being distracting to people, resulting in a 15% accuracy penalty. Though funnily enough, when he strikes a conversation to Nelke, she is so desperate to get away from the smell that she both gets a permanent movement boost as well as immunity to all status effects. Supports do actually affect spell accuracy. On a sidenote, Nosferatu is also 60% in Echoes.
  9. Expert Mode does a lot of cool things. But I hate how you lose your wing after crashing into something only once. Overall though, it's a really well put together hard mode, with all kinds of new obstacles being placed in levels instead of it being a matter of simply tweaking damage numbers. Venom 1 is also just a beautiful hell on Expert Mode. Those rapidfiring enemies they placed in particular. Very tricky to avoid with all the other obstacles in the way. And getting hit will shake your Arwing up so much, you will likely crash into said obstacles.
  10. Well, if the question is if a woman is capable of getting people to follow her... -Celica lead an army across seas, deserts and swamps all the way to a battle with an evil god. -Midia lead an rebellion of Akaneian loyalists against Hardin. -Also, can I just say that I love how Levin and Joshua are practically the same character, except Joshua's mom begs him for forgiveness for supposedly being a terrible mother, while Levin's mom remorselessly tears into him for being an irresponsible shithead. She's awesome. -Despite being an outsider, Eyvel nevertheless became the head of Fiana and created an extremely capable militia and beat the local bandits into behaving. -Linoan lead Tahra in an valiant struggle against the overwhelming forces of the Freege. -Silva is the leader of the Black Knights. Very much one of the most dreaded fighting forces in Lieberia. -Alvina's leadership makes her apparently capable of turning "ordinary men" into the most terrifying opponents in the entire game. -After the complete breakdown of the Western front, Lynette was able to turn the whole situation on it's head by rallying the people of Western Veria into her new army and beat back the empire. -Sienna was able to get Duke Roswick and Reese to finally take action against the king and lead them to perform an operation to rescue Duke Bernard from Berwick Island. She is also the one who leads the Berwick League in the aftermath of Narvia's invasion and set the whole groundwork for a lasting peace. -By all accounts Kay was also doing a good job leading the Highlanders against the empire. -Hoelun rallied the whole Nyman League in rebellion against their leader and became their new Leaguemaster in just a few days. -Arielle got the people holding her hostage to not only let her go, but also follow her in infiltrating a fortress, team up with General Paulos, sabotage their siege equipment and consequently completely turn the tables of her brother who had Reese and his escort dead to rights. She also lead another successful military operation later on, this time in more official capacity. -On the other end of the competence spectrum, even Athol seems to start figuring out that whole leadership thing. Getting the Meledian nobles to accept a mere Count as chancellor and getting away with announcing that she will take the throne of Meleda once she turns 18.
  11. Definitely the complete overkill support bonus that Barzelphen gets from Benette. Really showing off the Power Of Love there. Honorable mention goes to Salyna getting a strong boost from the Holydrake Bertoullia herself. Because that does not exist because of Salyna but because Salyna's mount Fernando has a crush on Bertoullia. And that whole thing is just really adorable. Admittedly it's hard for something involving Berti to not be adorable, but still.
  12. Although thinking about it some more, my favorite might be the noble from VS2 who disguises himself as a generic Grand Guard, except he is given away by the fact that his stats are absolutely pathetic. That just adds another level to it, I'd say.
  13. This feels surreal. I thought he was in the midst of all kinds of projects. Didn't think this would happen without any kind of forewarning. May he rest in peace.
  14. Took me way too long to realize that the holographic animation in the background of the Arzette results screen is her doing the "I won!" pose.
  15. Of course the only reason the Gatekeeper was even noteworthy is because he is an NPC. A rare sign that modern Fire Emblem features human life outside of the avatar and his small group of worshippers. Not exactly something that makes you stick out in Berwick Saga, where Navaron is populated with dozens of green guys. Not just your usual assortment of shopkeepers, furniture merchants and Erzheimers, but quite a few don't even offer any service, like those prison guards. Or the tavern owner. You can't buy any drinks from him, but people still always come by just to insult the place because they are charming like that.
  16. Eh, forget about 60$. That artwork isn't worth the storage space on my porn drive. It's so devoid of any expressions that I would call it about as sexy as sex ed illustrations, except those aren't so hideously deformed.
  17. I suppose there is no need for something to be straightforward when it could instead be really obscure and abstract instead. Abstract enough where the name could also work for either a fire sword or a light sword. It's like in the German translation for PoR, where Elfenlicht is a fire spell while Elfenblitz is a light spell. Also the Sonic Sword is the Donnerschwert for some reason. They are very much immobile. Like, actually immobile. Unlike the Berwick Saga ballista that technically can move, but have to chose between moving, attacking and turning. Can't do more then one at once. Levin is an actual name, so it makes perfect sense to give it to a person. Giving it to a weapon is much less self-explanatory, though. Like, not even a unique artifact but just a general weapon type. But I'm sure the literal meaning of the word is a factor in how Levin ended up with that name. Considering that whole "light inheritors" theme. Even used to be the name of the game at one point.
  18. Well, as long as we don't call it a Levin Sword. The heck is a "Levin" even supposed to be? Negative avoid is funny. After Thracia, standard long range is lowered to 3-7. Ballista in Vestaria Saga are 12 range. But they also have a minimum range of 8. So they still only cover a range of 4 tiles.
  19. I suppose that's to be expected given that she is apparently based on a subculture that the Big K wasn't particularly fond of.
  20. It's a good thing this game controls so much better than FE3. It's so fast and snappy. Just really fun to do stuff. I would say the arena is the biggest obstacle to replayability. It might not start out this way, but the arena takes longer the more units you have. It adds up after a while. That would mean that Eldigan is actively asking his sister to be a hostage for Grandvelle to be used against him. That's not something he would want to do. Their split really only makes sense is she is the one to insist on it.
  21. With the way the crusader bloodlines have been treated so far, it is a little surprising that the Hezul folks are just mere subordinates to an unrelated royal family. Oh sure. There is also a gossiper in Vestaria Saga who proposes that the reason Gyskhal backs Cyltan's claim for the throne is because he is the boy's real father due to a possible affair with his brother's bride-to-be. That theory becomes increasingly implausible over the course of the Solis arc. Though I suppose it is never outright disproven. I suppose unlike "I like it rough" the line "You ever see a little girl with THESE before!?" from the old patch wasn't considered to be quite iconic enough to be kept. Well, Chagall wouldn't be the "last survivor of the Agusty dynasty" if he didn't murder his dad. Just saying. Would really like to have a scene with Lachesis here. From her perspective it would most certainly make sense to put the whole mess firmly on Chagall's feet. And she would likely see little value in a definition of chivalry that puts blind loyalty to a patricidal moron running the country into the ground above all else. Her staying with Sigurd after all of this is most certainly not surprising. But considering Jamke is still around for no reason, it's impossible to consider this the result of a character arc unless it's actually shown.
  22. The boss with the lowest level on the map. Unless you count Fury. Meanwhile Zane over there being level 21 with 3 leadership stars. That reminds me... Alec can survive this too, since he is immune to crits and consequently effective damage. Padolf with the Estoc he is not even high enough level to use properly.
  23. Shinon? Don't recall him ever doing a baby face like that. But I suppose with Heroes art anything is possible.
  24. Pretty high, considering this is never elaborated on. Well, she is named Fury for a reason. You mean running around in her undearwear and going out to dinner with the prince of Silesia a few times? Well, as long as it doesn't take another year... Oh hey, it's the lady from Knorda. Truly the real mascot of the series. When all you have is a Seize command...
  25. Oh wow, nothing quite like a dull surprise face when about to put an arrow through someone's brain.
