  1. IMO, they are pretty similar in terms of usefulness. Two things seal my vote for Ephraim: 1. Lances have more might than Swords. 2. Ephraim's Route has the Map at Grado Keep, which is simply AMAZING. Eirika has Speed to her advantage, but she is more Fragile than Ephraim. Overall, it depends on your play style. Mine focusses on defense, so Ephraim is more useful.
  2. Mist using Alondite isn't too bad, in my experience. It can be put to much better use by other characters, though. As for the moral complexities around Mist using Alondite...I never considered it. It's quite a strange thought. I always consider Alondite the "Knight" sword, and so give it to Marshalls or Gold Knights. Vague Katti is more of a "Swift" Blade. So I give it to (er...) Marshalls or Swordmasters. Seeing Meg decimate with Vague Katti is actually quite amusing. But that assumes that you used her enough (or indeed, at all) to get her SS Sword level.
  3. I'm Bi. I can post where I like, and say what I like. :D
  4. I'm not so sure. His shirt is kinda hot, but something about his chin really disturbs me. =/
  5. Ehhhh. Let me think. Boyd. I prefer his PoR version, but this version's fine too. Ranulf. See above. His hunch is kinda creepy, but I instantly liked his voice. Geoffrey. And thank god his hideous green armour's gone. Naesala. Gets me every time with those beautiful wings. Kieran. 'Cos Red hair is awesome. Tormod. For the same reason as Kieran. Zihark. Cool and Calm. Volug. Hate him as a unit. Love him as a person. Ike is uuuugly. Caineghis' nose... Nailah.
  6. My best overall priest has proven to be Laura. Her high Speed growths compensates for Light magics somewhat low Might, and she doesn't get doubled, apart from her time in early Part 1. Her only healer in DB status means you pretty much HAVE to use her. And Sacrifice + Laura is a great Boss Abuse Combo.
  7. Sorry about the delay. Silly "Three-Essay-a-Day" Schoolwork. >.< Anyway, I've just finished the Part 1 Endgame. CHARATERS: Leonardo: Level 6 Sniper: Strength: 23 (Natural) Magic: 3 Skill: 24 Speed: 23 Luck: 24 Defense: 13 Resistance: 16 (Cap) Weapons: Steel Bow, Iron Longbow. Skills: Cancel, Paragon. Overall, I am very pleased with Leonardo. His Strength and Speed blessings let me use him consistantly, and he completely annhialated everything he came accross. He was even 100% Accurate with the Longbow, which was very useful. Only worrying point is his defense, but he is an Archer Class - It's to be expected. On a side note, I used the Energy Drop on him, so add +2 to his Strength. Micaiah: Level 20 Light Mage: Strength: 3 Magic: 20 (Cap) Skill: 16 Speed: 14 Luck: 24 Defense: 4 Resistance: 20 (Cap) Weapons: Light, Thani x 2 Skills: Pass Some slight dissapointment on Micaiah's front. Another point in Defense would have made me more confident in her, and the fact she hasn't capped skill is wierd - she usually caps skill. Still, she capped Magic - at least she isn't screwed there. Hopefully she'll compensate for some of these in Tier 2. Oh, I used the Ashera Icon on her, but she really doesn't need it now T_T Sothe: Level 4 Rogue: Strength: 19 Magic: 4 Skill: 23 Speed: 22 Luck: 19 Defense: 15 Resistance: 11 Weapons: Iron Dagger, Kard Skills: Adept Sothe has been very helpful with Adept, It's almost like he's been waiting to get his hands on it! Anyway, he's not been the strongest of my characters, but he gets the job done, and weakens them for Micaiah. His ability to steal has also proven useful, as I have too many vulneraries to use, now. No useful stats particularly low, so I am pleased.
  8. Sorrowful Prince Pelleas? I think that's it. My favourites are: Echoes of Daybreak Bearer of Hope March Unstoppable Destiny Beauty is a Mad Mistress King of the Sky Wheeling Corby March of the Lion King Cats at Play Micaiah's Dawn Queen Elincia (and the uber-awesome sort-of remix) Sephiran's Sorrow The Black Knight Lives Rafiels Aria Tranquility of Goldoa Dawn Awakens
  9. Name: Takeo Otori Level: 20/14 Class: Assassin Weapon: Jato - Sword HP: 47 Str: 19 Spd: 27 Skl: 30 Def: 20 Res: 13 Lck: 25 Skills: Silencer - Standard skill for all Assassins Stillness - Enemy will not attack Takeo if there are any nearby ally units. +25% Crit - because he's awesome. Misguided Honour - Will not attack female enemies. Supports: A Kaede B Shigeru Takeo Otori is a character from the novel series Tales of the Otori. Look it up, if you want to.
  10. I've always liked the idea of a mage that can use magic and swords (Battle Sage?). However, they screwed up the knife-sage in PoR. I'm steadily moving away from the idea. A pegasus mage would be awesome! Or perhaps a flying archer? A purely healer-oriented peasus (read: Not Elincia) would be useful too. An unpromoted, horseback mage? I'd use that.
  11. You're still going to have to use a character to kill them next turn. A decent bow will do the same job, with less risk of damage to the Archer. And I was commenting on crossbows in general.
  12. In my Opinion: Vague Katti = Alondite > Ragnell. I even went as far as making Ike use Vague Katti over Ragnell once. It was awesome.
  13. Strange... Part 1+2 are my favoutire parts of the game. Yet they're the hardest, according to some.
  14. I dislike using cheats and/or glitches to complete the game. I prefer to complete it fair and square.
  15. You speak the truth. ...I assume. I never use any of the --Foe skills. I compensate with Wrath, Resolve and Renewal.
  16. From what I remember, the medallion amplifies the chaos that is within people naturally. Mist and the Herons are not affected by the Meddalion as the Spirits of Chaos and Order are equal, cancelling each other out. Therefore, there is nothing to amplify. That's how I interpreted things anyway. Yune is Chaos, freedom, future. She is Yune. Ashera is Order, restriction, past. She is Ashera. Ashunera is Balance, fairness, present. She is Ashunera.
  17. Lucia is a more viable noble-swordmaster, in my opinion. And that list was for the optional units, which you do not have to bring to EndGame. Laguz Royalty sap all EndGame's fun! Though I will use Kurthnaga, as he is the weakest of them and is forced.
  18. A valiant attempt by Destiny Hero, unfortunately falls short of the mark. Consistent use of "-eth" does not a Bastian make!
  19. Yeeeees. We can only wish. (The above comment about godliness does not apply to Nolan as he is already godly. There is no need to further it.)
  20. I would really love to say no, but the evidence is telling me otherwise. When I saw the save in green, signifying easy, I just looked at it, in disbelief. I think my words were "I beg your pudding?" Anywho, I can't get that save back. Nothing to do but try again.
  21. *Sigh* Let me explain a bit more thoroughly. As Crossbows ignore the users strength, they always have a fixed amount of might. This means that any upgrade in the enemy's defence has a rather harsh affect on the usefullness of crossbows. If you gain a crossbow in Chapter 3 (For Example), by Chapter 5, the enemy's average defence will have increased enough to lessen the crossbows utility value to near nothing. In short, if you don't use a crossbow almost as soon as you get it, it's laughable by the time you do come to use it. Only two crossbows have enough might to cut it by endgame: Aqqar (with 34 Might) and Arbalest (with 38 might). If you got a crossbow in the early DB chapters, they would be god. But you don't. So they arent.
  22. Shakespearian Rap? I approve! It would certainly add some soul into what is generally considered a rather uncouth habbit. Especially by yours truly. Bastian, Count of Fayre, is by no means a bad unit. In fact, he is quite skilled. However, at the moment in time at which he wanders from yonder, there are already far superior minions willing to die be manouvered at your whim. However, if by some miracle the fair Soren has not been used or has been struck down by the finicky RNG Goddess, then Bastian is a supreme choice. He is a more logical choice than the absentee, Tormod, in any circumstance!
  23. Gah! My suddenly Fire Emblem obsessed Nephew has overwritten the Noble Intentions Save File. >( RESTART. I'm probably not going to put in the blow-by-blow chapter detail. Just going to post my characters stats when I feel it's appropriate.
  24. I'm not denying their effectiveness as an archers only 1-range attack. What I hate is that if you don't use a crossbow constantly, the enemy gets a couple more defence on the next chapter, and the crossbow becomes failure. That was my argument. My immediate reaction was that I could also argue that Leo > Nephenee if I give him stillness, adept, resolve, gamble and a Killer Bow. But then I stopped. As I haven't used Beastfoe, I can't give a counter as I haven't had any experience with it. Go figure.
  25. Just to clarify, I didn't specifically go over with the intention of killing her. Louise was sitting in the left fort, recovering some minor damage a shaman had done to her. Vaida flew over to try and kill her at 2 range with the Uber Spear. She missed both times (with a 45% chance or something similar). Louise criticalled and reduced her to something like 10. I then leaped on the oppurtunity and made Pent Elfire her. One dead Vaida. Seeing as she never joined, she doesn't affect my survival rank. I am pleased.
