  1. Chap 14 * Damnit, stupid recruitment chain – in order to get Raven a few chapters in, I need Priscilla. And to get Priscilla, I need Erk, for whom I need Serra. ... This is gonna suck. And Rebecca’s first LV up isn’t very encouraging. Hector’s is better, but not what I’ve come to expect. I send Eliwood down towards Priscilla’s village to make sure no Pirates wreck it, and have everyone else playing defense around Merlinus. I go get Erk, but only so he can get Priscilla. Beating the crap out of Erik gives Hector some mojo, and a decent LV up. Oh? What’s this? Eliwood recruits Priscilla himself, without needing Erk? Well, that makes things a lot simpler. 16 turns. Chap 15 * Not even going to bother with the chests. This is going to be a bitch. Eliwood comforts me with a good LV up, though. Hector follows suit, and then Eliwood gets yet another good one. Anyway, I have everyone hang around Merlinus and the throne, playing defense. Rebecca gets another LV up as well, although she’s way behind the Lords. Merlinus manages to scrape through with one HP left. 7 turns. Chap 16 * Lyn immediately gets a sexy LV up upon her second battle. Really, there’s... not a whole lot to comment on this time around. 10 turns. Chap 17 * After sending most of the crew up towards the throne, Eliwood proceeds to soak up a few good LV ups, catching up to Hector and Lyn. Rebecca’s still massively lagging behind, though. Hector tanks a stab from Raven, who is then recruited and then kills the Archer right behind him. Around that time, I send Kent back with a Horseslayer to deal with the reinforcements. I let the final Knight kill off two reinforcements so I can get the second Mine. 17 turns. Chap 17x * First things first. I immediately go and recruit Canas. Then, I see about having him, Raven, and Rebecca catch up to Kent and the Lords in terms of LVs. Despite the lack of units I have at my disposal, this is actually the easiest time I remember having of this chapter. And DAMMIT the Shop doesn’t sell Vulneraries! That means I can’t Arena abuse as effectively! Still, at least I can crank some benefit out of it. Some Arena abuse later, I chat it up with Fargus. 40 turns. Chap 18: Welp, Kent basically solos everything he comes across. If the damn shop last chapter sold vulneraries, he’d have Raven as a Hero backing him up. Instead, I have to be much more reserved. This will be tough, but interesting. While I could have Kent end it on the second turn by killing the boss... I can farm a good bit more experience if I let him live for a bit. Especially since Rebecca, Raven, and Canas really need it. So I wait until turn 11 to grind on the reinforcements, but end up missing out on the boss. Still, the LV ups were worth it. 11 turns. Chap 19: Not a lot to report, other than Kent being his manly self who kills Uhai on turn seven. 7 turns. Why yes, I will take the sidequest. 7 turns. Chap 19x: Nothing personal, Kishuna, but you need to die. I want to experience chap 19xx! I should thank you for the antimagic field, though. Rebecca’s LOVING this opportunity to grind against the boss with impunity. Lyn crits Kishuna, and then Kent kills him off. I then have Hector finish off the boss instantly. I have to cut out early before I can reap all the grinding, though. 13 turns. Chap 19xx: Well, I sadly end up missing out on the Dracoshield, but at least I get an Eclipse and a Talisman. Kent kills the boss on account of being the only one who both a) can and b) would get EXP out of it. 10 turns. Chap 20: Damnit, Legault got away, but I don’t need the Guiding Ring he had, since I can promote Nino using the Earth Seal later on. Or him, really. 9 turns. Chap 21: Oh good, a shop that sells Vulneraries. Canas will promote soon anyway, though, and then he’ll get to use staves. First and foremost, however, gotta stock up on more Flux tomes for him. Kent gets the Elysian Whip for Farina. I go ahead and grind up Rebecca and Raven to LV19.99 (and yes I will be a stingy bastard about that one last EXP) for Promotion, although Canas manages to reach that LV without needing to hit the Arena. 21 turns. Chap 22: First, time for prep. Raven promotes to Hero. He’s a little STR screwed this time around, but he can hopefully grow out of that, and he’s fast enough that he’s going to end up doubling most opponents. Next, Canas promotes to Druid. He’s... actually fairly balanced. Anyway, with my grinding worries taken care of, it’s time to start the chapter. I leave Eliwood to protect Nils, since the rest of the crew will be on the offensive and he’s... actually, arguably turned out the best of my Lords. Kinda sucks that I won’t be getting Heath, but I can’t use him anyway. And I already have two Mines for the times I need them. Man, this is turning into a real curbstomp. Which is weird, given that I normally have a more powerful army than I do this time around. Maybe I’m just getting more competent all of a sudden? Hector kills the boss early. 7 turns. Chap 23: Canas and Rebecca got most of the kills on account of their superior range, although Raven also made a decent showing. In order to get the sidequest, I avoided using the Lords, who were all LV20. 12 turns. Chap 23x: This kinda goes without much incident. 22 turns. Chap 24: Saving up the Afa’s Drops for when I get Nino. As for the chapter itself, I just kinda send everyone up and around the top of the lake towards Linus. 7 turns. Chap 25: Merlinus self-promotes. I have Rebecca man the Ballistae and start taking out Pirates, Canas goes to get the castle to the South, Raven solos the massive cavalry unit to the northwest, and five turns later, recruit Farina... who promptly goes on a murder spree, in the midst of which Raven captures his fortress. Farina solos a crapton of Priests and gets herself to LV18 in practically no time at all, and then Kent takes the last fortress. 14 turns. Chap 26: I go ahead and have Lyn promote to Blade Lord, and then have Kent use the Mine glitch and then make most of the enemies drop their weapons. Why, yes, I am a cheap bastard. Since part of my unit selection was based on Supports, and one of those is Kent/Farina, bear in mind that the following chapters will involve a lot of ass-dragging whenever possible. And it’ll probably get worse when Harken and Nino show up. Farina gets herself to LV20 and promotes. She, Rebecca, and Canas rack up a crapton of kills. 12 turns. Chap 27: Lots of ass-dragging – a) for supports, b) to ensure I get Harken, who is also to get a support. Who is promptly recruited the turn after he appears. 67 turns. Hey, I did say there would be ass-dragging... Chap 28: After recriting Nino, I have Lyn go down and kill Ursula. Nino doesn’t get to do much here, but she’ll get to do much more grinding in the gaiden chapter. 16 turns. Chap 28x: First I promote Eliwood to Knight Lord during prep... Then I use the Mine glitch again so I can more easily grind up Nino. Again, I am a cheap bastard. Turns 67. Chap 29: Kind of a bloodbath, and I’m sleepy and don’t feel like describing it in glorious detail. 19 turns. Chap 30: I take Kent and Farina with me into the darkness. 17 turns. Chap 31: Nino’s turned out rather well, and despite being the only unpromoted unit in my crew (barring Hector) she still contributes excellently to the team. I kill every single enemy with a few turns to spare. 11 turns. Chap 31x: Not much to do here, really, except get a few more turns toward A support for Nino/Rebecca and Kent/Farina. I mean, I’ve kind of already taken care of most of my weapon-gathering... 5 turns. Chap 32: QUAKE IN TERROR, WARRIORS OF NERGAL! SORCERESS SUPREME NINO HAS ARRIVED! Also worthy of note: LV20/20 Raven, with a Killing Edge, has crit of 50. And doubles pretty much everything. I knew I considered him broken for a reason. I send him along the south and east, while Nino, Harken, and Rebecca go up the eastern edge of the map, and I have everyone else charge through diagonally towards the boss. 15 turns. Chap 32x: Since, of the units I bring, Hector is the lowest leveled, I let him solo most of the enemies, although I make sure to have the others cap as well. 17 turns. Chap FINAL: Canas gets the kill on both Nergal and on the Dragon. Double Luna FTW. Nergal phase: 11 turns. Dragon phase: 1 turn. Hector: LV19.58/20 HP 56, STR 29, SKL 23, SPD 24, LCK 14, DEF 27, RES 17, D Sword, S Axe, B Eliwood Lyn: LV20/20, HP 55, STR 24, SKL 29, SPD 30, LCK 26, DEF 15, RES 15, S Sword, D Bow, B Kent Eliwood: LV20/20, HP 52, STR 27, SKL 26, SPD 24, LCK 24, DEF 13, RES 16, A Sword, B Lance, B Hector, A Harken Nils: LV20, HP 32, STR 2, SKL 0, SPD 26, LCK 27, DEF 11, RES 18 Athos: BASE Kent: LV20/20, HP 52, STR 25, SKL 26, SPD 24, LCK 12, DEF 14, RES 11, A Sword, E Axe, S Lance, B Lyn, A Farina Farina: LV20/20, HP 49, STR 23, SKL 24, SPD 24, LCK 21, DEF 18, RES 19, E Sword, S Lance, A Kent Nino: LV13.03/20, HP 46, MAG 24, SKL 26, SPD 26, LCK 24, DEF 13, RES 25, S Anima, E Staves, A Rebecca Rebecca: LV20/20, HP 37, STR 20, SKL 25, SPD 27, LCK 27, DEF 12, RES 20, S Bow, A Nino Raven: LV20/20, HP 56, STR 25, SKL 30, SPD 26, LCK 17, DEF 14, RES 14, S Sword, C Axe Canas: LV19.99/20, HP 47, MAG 25, SKL 20, SPD 23, LCK 12, DEF 15, RES 23, S Dark, C Staves Harken: LV20, HP 48, STR 25, SKL 24, SPD 23, LCK 12, DEF 16, RES 14, A Sword, B Axe, A Eliwood FINAL turncount: 527. Yes, it’s kind of egregious, but there are times when I can’t help but insist on ass-dragging.
  2. I've been distracted by all kinds of crap. Anyhow, I'll update the OP to show that you finished.
  3. My presumption is that everyone else is distracted by other things, thus not playing the game, and thus having nothing to update.
  4. Chap 12: turncount: 6. Hector's pissed off that his pal Eliwood's in trouble, so he does the natural thing and crits his first opponent to death. Cue two awesome consecutive LVups over the next few fights. A bit after that, Eliwood gets a pretty awesome one of his own. Rebecca hasn't had enough time to really get much EXP, but I'm sure she can catch up. Chap 13: turncount: 17. I send everyone to start working on enemies - screw turncount, I'll deal with Merlinus later. Hector gets off to a bad start in terms of levelling, and Rebecca doesn't do much better. I recruit Guy, have him pass the Killing Edge to Eliwood, and he then makes up for Hector and Rebecca's failures by getting a badass LV up, inspiring Hector to do the same. Anyway, Hector wound up soloing about 80% of the enemies, I'll need to correct that. After Eliwood shanks the boss to death with Rapier, I have him go get the Torch from Merlinus. Chap 13x: turncount: 7. Eliwood starts off with a great LV up, distracting me from how much of a bitch this is going to be with just Rebecca and the Lords. I end up cutting this rather close, but I make it out with everyone alive. 5. Chapter 11: Turncount: 16. Hector declares that since Uther won't do anything, he'll just invade Laus by himself. Scary thing is, he's actually got the nads to pull if off, and then proves my point with some pretty awesome LV ups. Although he got one LV up that wasn't so great....
  6. MASS UPDATE. Prologue: Since there are only so many possible ways to describe this chapter, I won't even bother. Lyn did get a rather sexy LV up, though. Chap 1: I immediately trade Sain's Iron Lance over to KEnt, since Sain won't be getting any EXP on this run. Kent gets a manly LV up, and Lyn gets a rather sexy one too. Chap : Lyn gets ANOTHER fantastic LV up. I'd say something, but that would be tempting fate. Kent gets an okay one after that. Kent goes to deal with Glass, while Lyn gets the last bandit. Pfft. Sigurd, Sety, Lilina, Raven, Nino, Amelia, and Ike fear only the possibility of death by laughing at how pathetic you are, Glass. Chap 3: I have Lyn go and recruit Wil, despite no plan or intention of using him. Why would I do this, other than completionism? Together. We. Ride. Anyway, Kent deals with the Archer and gets a sub-par LV up, although at least there was a STR for it. He then gets a slightly better one, is beaten to one HP, gets pissed off, and crits his next enemy to death. The sheer testosterone of the moment is a massive turn-on for Lyn, and she immediately gets the sexiest LV up yet. Lyn and Kent go buy an extra Iron Sword, just in case. Kent goes to deal with the boss. Not so great a LV up, but at least he gets both STR and SPD. Chap 4: For some reason, I suddenly want to see Natalie do something awesome while still sick. Like, I dunno, lift her husband over her head with one arm and toss him halfway across the map. Since Dorcas will come to me anyway, I just have Lyn and Kent hang out by the main entrance to start dealing with intruders. Man, Kent's getting kinda RNG screwed with regards to dodging... even with Sword->Axe advantage and a hit rate of 40, he's still getting hit. But then, after I recruit Dorcas the Worthless (for this playthrough), Kent redeems himself with an epic LV up out of sheer LOYALTY! But in doing so, he apparently also used up Lyn's allotted sexiness for the chapter, since she gets a crappy LV up afterward. At least she got STR, and that's what matters most. Chap 5: After recruiting Serra/Erk for the sake of Together We Ride, I deal with a few enemies and then Kent gets a pretty manly LV up. And immediately breajking his Iron Sword, the bandit he just killed rises from the grave to hand him a new one, before then dying again. Couldn't have planned that one better if I'd tried. I suddenly realize that Kent's two LVs higher than Lyn is. Ugh, this is why horsemen aggravate me.... well, that and the sheer NUMBER of them, although it isn't as bad in FE7 as in other games... Anyway, I have Lyn solo the boss and she promptly gets an improbably sexy LV up, improving everything except DEF. Chap 6: I kinda have to wonder about Lundgren. I mean, I get wanting power and all that, but just Caelin? Really? Isn't it kinda small and unimportant compared to a lot of the other Lycian territories, in terms of influence and power in the grand scheme of things? I mean, Marquess Laus was a total dickhead, but at least he had scope. Accept nothing less than all of Lycia, and that's just practice for moving on to Bern and Ilia. And then Sacae, if you have time before lunch. ANYWAY...... like a streak of light from the heavens, a would-be assassin is struck down by THE JUSTICE OF THE GODS - oh wait, it's just Rath. Nevermind. Remind me to check youtube later for a heavy metal version of Together We Ride. Lyn takes care fo the boss and gets a LV up. Not as sexy as a lot of her previous ones, but it'll do. Chap 7: Lyn asks me if she and Kent are tough. After picking myself up from the floor from laughing so hard, I remind her that they're the biggest badass around at this point, given that they've soaked up all the EXP thus far. I have Lyn go ahead and use the Angelic Robe from last chapter. Then, after clearing everyone else out of formation, I move Kent a lot further towards the enemies. Then Lucius shows up, the manliest girly man since Marth! And with that... Setup complete! All right chums, let's do this! LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOY!!! JJJJEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNS!!!!! Lyn and Kent charge through a few enemies, Kent gets a rather normal, un-manly LV up, Lyn dodges a Flux and gets a very sexy LV up out of it. And then, when all seems lost due to Ninian not being where Nils thought she'd be, out of nowhere comes ELIWOOD, with a manly entrance and Ninian in his arms! Being that we are manly heroes (sexy heroine in Lyn's case) of COURSE we will take the sidequest! Chap 7x: Seeing as how I want 19xx this time around, I'm going to REALLY take my time with this and the coming chapters so I can grind Nils up to LV7+. After a Soldier breaks down the wall on the left (where the mage is), Lyn takes a LV up to remind us of just how sexy she is. Later on, Kent takes out a Mage towards the end of the chapter and gets a fine, but not quite manly, LV up. Kent puts Beyard on ice, and then Lyn ends the chapter by making a fillet out of the last Shaman. Chap 8: I sent Kent (with help from Nils) to check out the Village in case it has anything nifty, and have Lyn steadily going towards the chapter goal. It's kinda sad that even Nils has better DEF and RES than Lyn does. Then again, she's turning out borderline STR blessed, so oh well. Kent gets pissed off and crits a Shaman. Upon taking out the archer in the Ballista, Lyn gets a plain, ordinary, not-sexy LV up. Chap 9: Since I can't promote Kent in Lyn's story (wasn't going to anyway, since he's not LV20), and since odds are Wallace won't ever be showing up again in this playthrough, I guess I'll sell the Knight Crest once I get a chance. Kent gest a LV up, and fails to be impressive with it. A few battles later and a LV up for Nils, and Lyn kills the boss before LVing up herself. And a very sexy LV up it is, too. Chap 10: Another battle in, and Lyn gets another sexy LV up. Given that Lyn actually has higher STR than Kent at present, I'll let him use the Energy Ring. Not much happens until we get to Lundgren. Cue critical with Mani Katti, and then a kill. Who knew that killing such ugly old men could result in such sexy LV ups? STATS: LYN: LV14, HP33, STR 14, SKL 15, SPD 18, LCK 14, DEF 3, RES 4, SWORD A Kent: LV13, HP 31, STR 13, SKL 12, SPD 14, LCK 5, DEF 8, RES 3, SWORD B, LANCE B Nils: LV7, HP 20, STR 1, SKL 0, SPD 17, LCK 15, DEF 6, RES 8 Everyone else: BASE And with that, Lyn verbally smacks some sense into grandpa, so he can wise up to the true power of COURAGE! And thus live long enough to actually hang out with his grandkid for a while. Welp, we're off to Ostia tonight!
  7. [FE7] LHM+HNM draft # 35554 Competitors: MJThom_2009 (Florina, Dorcas, Wil,Rath, Karel, Renault, Jaffar) Janissary (Sain, Heath, Serra, Pent, Guy, Louise, Vaida) * Might Gaine (Kent, Raven, Canas, Farina, Rebecca, Harken, Nino) The Soldier (Priscilla, Lowen, Erk, Hawkeye, Matthew, Bartre/Karla, Geitz) Kempf (Oswin, Fiora, Lucius, Isadora, Legault, Dart, Wallace)
  8. Registered, meaning that Kempf is left with Wallace! And now I'll start on my playthrough. .... Just as soon as I finish another level on Super Robot Wars which I'm in the middle of.
  9. After The Soldier makes his pick (leaving you with whomever he doesn't pick) drafting is complete!

  10. Time for your last pick!

  11. Muwahaha, Nino the Saint of Blowing Stuff Up is MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!!!! The Soldier and Kempf get to pick between Wallace or Geitz.
  12. It's time for your final pick!

  13. Registered! Next is Janissary, then me, then The Soldier, then Kempf again.
  14. Waiting on MJ, and then we can go ahead and finish up the draft - he's got two picks left, and the rest of us have one.
  15. Nevermind, I separated Wallace and Geitz. The odds of me getting the unit I want just went way down.
  16. Registered, and I'll be drafting Harken this time around. There's only one other unit I've seriously got my eye on at this point.....
  17. Registered. Man, is this a slow thread, or am everyone just not on at the same time?
  18. Registered, and I'm going with Farina.
  19. I like both speedsters and brawlers. For the original, my main is Link, although I've used Kirby as well. For Melee, which this thread is abou- "ROY'S OUR BOY! ROY'S OUR BOY ROY'S OUR BOY!" The crowd has spoken. That said, I'm also good with Marth and, to a lesser degree, Zelda. Can't use Young Link worth crap though, due to his crappy range. As for Brawl- "WE LIKE IKE! WE LIKE IKE! WE LIKE IKE!" Damnit crowd of onlookers, stop interrupting me. But yeah, Ike. Followed by Marth. In terms of characters I'm not good at but still like anyway, there're Ness and Pichu.
  20. I also think it'd be awesome to have Ephraim available. Beyond FE, I really really REALLY want a playable Ridley (Metroid), Ninten (MOTHER 1/ Earthbound Zero), and possibly even Pokey (Earthbound and Mother3). Also, not playable, but I want Giygas (Earthbound) as a boss fight. If they go with third-party characters again, I think it'd be cool to see Nero (Devil May Cry 4) and Megaman. It'd also be cool to have Bartz and Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V appear, since their game was originally on the SNES and got a remake on the GBA, that makes them more Nintendo characters as well. Although in hindsight, I question what kind of movesets they'd have with the SSB control scheme.... They're probably never going to make it, but it'd be cool nonetheless.
  21. I'm going to be offline for probably the next twelve hours or so.
