  1. I see what you're trying to say there... that our age is just an artificial number... I guess at work I feel that there's not a lot if any people I know that is into gaming let alone OWNING a 3DS. XD The only people I know who still games is friends from high school and of course the awesome peeps on SF forums! Yea, although we can't assume that Avatar is DEFINITELY you the player, its definitely a choice that it seems more than half of the players who responded on that thread on SF forums made... but yea I think its awesome to have a character ingame that is you, represents you, reflects the choices you'll make and fight along other characters. I mean isn't it cool to be able to "live" in different mediums... to alternate between reality and fantasy?
  2. This has been bothering me for quite a while... as life goes on and as I age I'm beginning to wonder whether I'll ever have to give up gaming for good or whether there will be an age where my interest in games will decline. I just turned 22, finished an intern and now finishing my final stretch of my University degrees. I guess what comes next is whether I want to pursue a graduate degree or go straight into work. But the problem is that work takes up A LOT of your time. Waking up early and coming home late and this will repeat for the majority of any year. Not including the need to socialize etc. Thinking about things, I started gaming when the GameBoy Color came out... truth be told I think for myself and for my friends and for people around my age the 3DS/PSVITA/PS4/WII U will be our LAST generation of TRUE dedicated gaming. Think about this... by the time this gen "ends" that will probably be 2018? That's 5 years from now... I'll be nearing the end of the 20 stretch... who knows how much stuff will be going on then and more importantly whether one will be able to immerse oneself into gaming that much at that age - I don't know. A little sad to think. But that said I'm going to truly try to enjoy what little years of "freedom to game" is left in my life and 2013 is a great year to have a 3DS XL! (With all those 3DS coming out this year and Big N's recent comments on Siliconera strong show of support for localizations to USA and Europe) Especially anyone around 18-25, I think, is PERFECT to insert yourself as the Avatar in FE13. Just because the characters all seem to be around that age and we're talking about proposals and eventually marriage 2-3 years down the track (ingame timeline of course). What do you guys think? Any words of inspiration? Any palpable feelings or words of wisdom? Feel free to share your thoughts because I'd appreciate it a lot to hear what the community thinks of this.
  3. Thanks but I keep seeing that art of Tharja holding both her hands to her face all embarrassed when seeing avatar..... When is that activated? Not confession but when? Is it when she is recruited?
  4. When you recruit someone by having Chrom or any other char talk to them...... How do you 'talk' to them? Do you talk on the battlefield or what?
  5. Not sure about creating a backstory for MU (you can but) the MU without spoiling ALREADY has a backstory in the game... Revealed in later chapters.... So maybe any back stories should be consistent with the Mu's story in game? There IS a reason why the MU has amnesia and WHY he remembers Chrom's name.
  6. Wait so the other 2 voices are not deeper than voice one but lighter? The voice in demo for male avatar is I guess standard voice... In comparison with THAT voice... How is the other 2 voices like?? MODEDIT: yo don't doublepost
  7. I cannot access Youtube unfortunately...... So can someone please describe the voice to me? The voice 1 is in the demo... so is voice 2 and 3 for the male MU deeper?
  8. I heard somewhere that Kid Icarus Uprising was given a total "freehand" by the Japanese Developers in terms of localization style... that amounted to a LOT of changes to the original Japanese dialogue... Will the same thing happen for FEA? I hope NoA doesn't drastically alter say one of those support convos - completely ignoring what the original game designers designed? That wouldn't be localization would it?
  9. Seeing how NoA's FEA website doesn't give us full character portraits... are full character portraits able to be viewed ingame? As in full 2D portraits of characters.
  10. Well I don't think "has the nicest body in the army" will work now... since on the official site it just says she has the "darkest thoughts".
  11. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/01/24/the-things-you-can-do-on-fire-emblem-awakenings-world-map-2/ "Supposedly that children aspect was in one of the japan exclusive but, can't say the world map like option hasn't been seen before in FE" Does anyone know whether NOA has cut out the children content in its localization? Like what happened in FE4? Why would NOA cut out those characters?
  12. Oh so for each of the females who have a unique child: Wood Myrmidon Side. 5 NPC, talk with Chrom or Lissa I see... kinda disappointed... think about it if MU engages Tiki for example... wouldn't MU and Tiki be all excited when they see their child from the future? But I guess that void will be filled by the specific SUPPORT CONVOS not the SIDEQUEST dialogues.
  13. So if I engage with Sairi, I will be able to unlock sidequest 12 right? And what I meant was in sidequest 12, I will meet my future child Morgan, now when that happens, will the convos with Morgan during that SIDEQUEST be similar whether I engaged with Sairi or Aversa or Tiki? Or are they all the same? I understand that the SUPPORT convos are generic, but what about at the point where you MEET MORGAN in sidequest 12? I assume there will be some dialogue/exchanges between Morgan and me and her mother? What I am asking is are THOSE convos also generic? (The convos IN THE SIDEQUEST, not SUPPORT convos.)
  14. I see that a lot of the children sidequests are unlocked only after a certain female character is engaged/married. But for MU exclusive characters like Tiki...Aversa and Sairi and others... do they each have their own unique support convos with Morgan? I assume that if such convos exist, it will occur during chapter 12?
  15. Thanks! Its really nice and realistic how these DLCs work... if Tiamo is single then none of that convo will be present. If she is single, then it will activate... quite realistic and well thought out!
  16. Thank you for the confirmation... as to when the DLC content can be accessed... I was referring to WHEN ingame a player can unlock and play those DLC quests? Like after which chapters?
  17. Thank you. If anyone has the answer to the 2nd question... much appreciated...!
  18. 1. Do we ever get to meet MU's mother ingame? I heard this game has a happy ending... so it would be nice if MU (I) get to meet my (in-game mother)... 2. Does this only happen if Tiamo has not married anyone yet? So if Tiamo is already married to say, Donnel, this DLC convo will not trigger right? If so, when can this DLC convo be accessed? I may want to not pair Tiamo off so early so as to trigger that convo. Can anyone help me?

  20. Wow, so she joins on Chapter 7. And you S ranked her on Chapter 8? 1-2 chapters is enough for S rank?
  21. I just had a long discussion with my friend about the pairings in Awakening and we actually had quite a heated debate. One of our biggest points of difference is pairing Aversa or Tiamo with MU. Aversa: My friend basically asked me why would the MU (or yourself or me) want to marry someone like Aversa who and I quote "is a well-endowed, sensual, beautiful woman, seducing men and leading them to ruin is her forte." Our primary point of difference is why will YOU marry a woman who is arguably (although we do not know for sure) "unclean". By "unclean" he meant more or less of a "slut"... although the word "slut" is somewhat offensive but I guess the idea came from the quote "seducing men". What does "seducing men" mean? I mean there are varying degrees of seduction right? You can seduce WITHOUT offering your own body right? (You guys know what I'm implying.) Surely, it is also arguable that Aversa seduced men WITHOUT offering up her body or virginity right? Also, isn't this set in a medieval fantasy setting? Just like in ancient China, chastity is viewed quite importantly is it not? So my argument is that its unfair to treat Aversa as a "slut" because the quote "seducing men" can be subject to varying degrees of interpretation. Does anyone of you think what I'm saying can be correct? Tiamo: I'll cut right to the point of difference here and that is whether Tiamo really can be said to love anyone she S ranks with given her hidden crush on Chrom. I said Chrom will marry someone after chapter 11 ends. I also said if you cannot S rank Tiamo by the time chapter 11 ends, its a bit awkward because by then Tiamo would have realised she will NEVER be able to get together with Chrom... so OBVIOUSLY she will look elsewhere. Is this a cheap argument? But doesn't is sound quite logical? However, if the MU or anyone else CAN S rank Tiamo before chapter 11 ends, then the argument above is TOTALLY INVALIDATED. My friend disagreed for a number of reasons. Anyone any thoughts?
  22. I want to know this... after the war with Plegia ends... Why do the Shepherds fight against Valm? Isn't Valm opposed to the main anatagonist? Also why is Tiki the priestess of Valm? Is Tiki ... evil? I don't really get this but I would really appreciate it if people can answer me.
  23. Here is my attempt at translating 路弗雷 x 玛利亚贝尔 which is Rufure Male MU x Mariabel. I'm not sure how to make those spoilers tags, can some please edit this post or help me? Support C: Rufure: Sign... what is the meaning of this term? (May be looking at strategy encyclopedia). Mariabel: Rufure? Are you studying? Rufure: Mariabel! Yea... I am just trying to research Mariabel: Fufu... so even a commoner understands the intricacies of "research"? Rufure: Mariabel... you should't be so condescending! Mariabel: I am in no way looking down on you Rufure. I was merely stating what I thought. BUT... if I have caused a misunderstanding, please forgive me. I am really sorry... Rufure: Th-there's no need to be so formal! So, you were looking for me? What's up? Mariabel: Yes. I wish to know more about you. Rufure: Ab-bout... me...? Mariabel: Indeed. You possess the rare talent of a genius tactician even though you lost you memories. Not to mention, my best friend Liz seems to admire and trust you. You have made me so curious... what kind of person is Rufure? Anyway... all I wanted... is ju-just... I just want to be friends with you... if you do not hate me that is. Rufure: Mariabel! How can I ever hate you? You know, we are already friends aren't we? Mariabel: Thanks a lot Rufure... so can you teach me more about the ways in which you hapless commoners live? (She wants to know more about the way commoners live). Rufure: I withdraw what I said... why are you still acting in such a [condescending] way? Support B: Mariabel: Rufure... about the request I made earlier... Rufure: Oh you mean learning more about the ways in which most people often interact? Like colloquial terms? Mariabel: Yes. When used a term you taught me earlier... everyone was trying to avoid me. I could tell some were smirking behind my back. Rufure: Hmm... what was it that you actually said? Mariabel: Well in order to make myself understood I have to be direct in saying what I wanted to say right? I though its the most efficient way... Rufure: Ma-Mariabel... you're not wrong in your understanding... but you should only say those words I taught you to someone who is very close to you. Mariabel: I...I didn't realize... does this mean... you think of me as...! Rufure: Hoho-haha...! I'm sorry I just wanted to see how others would react when you said it. Mariabel: You thought of me as someone who is very special! Rufure: Huh? Mariabel: My apologies for not understanding the meaning behind those words. Those words can only be said to you! Rufure: Erm..no you're misunderstanding again. Mariabel: Hee-hee... Yooo BRO! Howz it goin? Rufure: Pleas-please stop acting like this Mariabel. Your reputation as a noble lady will be soured by these incidents... I must find someway to explain this properly to the others... Mariabel: Even though I don't really understand what's so bad about this... but seeing how you reacted... I will stop using these words. Rufure: That will be for the best... Mariabel: Hmph! Little faced... how can anyone stand with you? Don't think I'mma gona let you do that to me again! Rufure: (Shocked) Wai-wait-waiiiiit! I never taught you to speak like this did i? Who? Who taught this to you? Mariabel: Ha... its a secret. (I think Liz taught her this). Support A: Rufure: Mariabel, can teach me more about the etiquette of being a nobel? Mariabel: Certainly. What do you wish to learn? Rufure: Alright... how about how a proper nobleman acts and speaks? Mariabel: Hmm let me think. Let's begin by learning the nobleman posture! Rufure: Huh? Am I not standing correctly? Mariabel: You are not! Your posture is way too relaxed... here lift your chest, make sure you hold you incline your head. You should also straighten your back more. Rufure: So standing straight... lifting chest... like this? Mariabel: You're chin is held too high. Rufure: Guess my head too far inclined. Mariabel: A bit lower... Rufure: Like this? Mariabel: Shoulders are too high... lower then a bit and lift that chest! Rufure: Wha-what about now...? Mariabel: Perfect! See you can do it if you want to. Heehee... Rufure... you know... you really have the potential you know? If persevere a bit more you can become a model gentleman! Rufure: Really?... Haha... Mariabel: Its decided! I am going to properly train Rufure so that you will display the charms of a gentleman in any situation! Rufure: W-we don't have to go that far do we? Mariabel: Yes we do! I hate giving up half way you know? Don't be shy with me, aren't we close friends? Rufure: When did we... Mariabel: Please shut up. Now, let's begin learning how to walk like a gentleman. Support S: Mariabel: Alright, we have concluded today's gentleman training. Good effort, you must be tired Rufure, please go and take a rest. Rufure: You..you know Mariabel? Actually I have another request. Mariabel: Aren't you spirited today! Do you wish to learn more? Rufure: I would like to know how a gentlemen bequests a ring to a lady? Mariabel: Eh-eh-eh-EH! Don't tell me... Rufure don't tell there a relationship going on between you and a lady? Rufure: You... you can say so. Mariabel: You idiot you!... even a close friend like me didn't know about this? But.. but...nevermind... its better this way... because even I will not know how to properly bequest a ring. I think its not the manner in which you bequest, but the sincerity of your heart? Rufure: Understood. According to my heart... be natural. Mariabel: Wh-what? Rufure: Here... lend me your hand. Mariabel: Wa-wait... urgh... too rough! Rufure: Done. It fits you really well Mariabel. Mariabel: The ring? Um... what is the mea-meaning of th-this? Rufure: Marriage proposal. Its the ring I made for you. Mariabel: Eh-eh?! Marriage? Then you...you originally wanted to give this to me? Rufure: Yes! Lately I have only be in training sessions with you... we were always together... when did I have time to spend with other ladies? Mariabel: Although the way you placed the ring wasn't like a gentleman... but... I am truly... happy. Rufure: Then... Mariabel: I will spend the rest of my life... I will make you become the model gentleman of my heart. CG Mariabel: I ...love you... Rufure. Promise me that we will be happy together... or else shall I not forgive you? :)
