I'm happy. I was seriously expecting another Pokemon Z/X2/Y2 or some Pokken news and was not particularly hyped. But Gen 7 is the best news they could have given me. I'm so excited! :D

I actually managed to not get spoiled by anything beforehand, so I'm very hyped to hear about Sun and Moon! Gen 7 already! This is so much better than the Kalos Redux I was expecting! Now if only they showed the starters, I'd be even more excited.

I literally just got to Ch 21 Conquest and holy shit......its almost 2 AM here and i just know these things might give me nightmares.....if there was a way to make the Mouth of Truth more creepy they certainly found it. I hate disturbing things like these ballooning stone creeps that pull their own faces off.... 0-0 So can these things move or are they just siege weapon enemies? I find it strange that they don't seem to have a backstory....

I'm going with Rinkah for Takumi personally since I like their supports, but I have no idea if its good for eugenics. As for the Master Seals, you will be able to get as many as you want after you are far enough in the story.

Chrom for Awakening and Leo for Fates. If I ever do a female Hoshido run (I'm playing a male in my birthright canon file), I'll probably marry Takumi (The little bros appear to be my type I suppose XD).

Plugging away through Conquest Normal/Classic so far at Ch 20, and I have: Aryn - Dark Blood lvl 8 and Leo - Dark Knight lvl 9 Xander - Paladin lvl 8 and Peri - Great Knight lvl 7 Keaton - Wolfssegner lvl 6 and Camilla - Revenant Knight lvl 10 Elise - Strategist lvl 7 and Silas - Paladin lvl 5 Laslow - Bow Knight lvl 4 and Selena Bow Knight lvl 4 Jakob - Butler lvl 21 and Felicia - Maid lvl 22 Azura - Songstress lvl 23 Niles fell behind awhile ago, so I'm using Shura for my treasure needs but not much else. Hoping to fill out my team with Flora, Forrest and Kana after I get the skills I want to pass on to them. Will be doing Birthright next.

This. I've experienced this while playing and completely agree word for word (coming from someone who's played up to Ch 20). From the very beginning it was easy to see this; Xander is the father figure, mentor and role model that Corrin and the younger siblings desperately needed since Garon is obviously a terrible father and role model (at least since Elise was born). Camilla, having known virtually no love from her own mother and seeing the same mistreatment to her half siblings has taken it upon herself to be the mother figure they never had, especially for Corrin who had no such person to do so for them since they were brought to Nohr (Its why I really like her character and appreciate the fact that she's doing her best to be the best mother/older sister as humanly possible without ever having had somewhere to learn how to properly convey and display those emotions. Honestly I think its a miracle that her character isn't even more broken and twisted after what she must've gone through growing up, and she gets fulfillment out of providing all the love and devotion to her siblings that she herself never received growing up). Leo, while younger, is actually super mature and intelligent for his relatively young age and he's the one who teaches Corrin how to be a tactician; he loves his siblings very much and goes above and beyond to make them happy even if he doesn't show it outright (not to mention he always feels lonelier because his strength and resilience doesn't inspire the same need for care that Corrin and Elise do). And Elise is the precious little sister who brings the light to their gloomy lives; having been brought up mostly by her siblings, she doesn't have to go through as much of the same crap that the older ones did (Evil!Garon notwithstanding). Corrin is what keeps them all together and doesn't let them fall to their darker nature, which may happen should s/he not have chosen to stick with them. As soon as Xander joins the game gives you a nice reunion scene with all the siblings and even include Azura since she was originally their sister. And all the retainers and friends who joined are even at points referred to Corrin collectively as a family (Mozu and Nyx's recruitment scenes). I feel like with all the crap that the Nohr path makes you do (and the intense difficulty of the maps/keeping characters alive as I'm playing classic), I really feel for my poor extended family of "misfits" trying, with Corrin's guidance, to struggle against Nohr's dark nature and better themselves and their future. It reminds me a lot of the Black Fang in FE7; a group of honorable assassins that treat each other like family, who just happened to have the unfortunate fate of having their leadership corrupted by an evil force which devoured them from within, but to the last, they kept their good nature and honor even when they were being forced to do terrible things. At least with Nohr, there's still the hope of a not completely terrible ending (obviously the best will be in Revelations). I'm not even done with the game yet I still feel that these characters have so much depth in them and how they deal with their enemies and loved ones respectively that makes me really appreciate what kind of ironclad family they have become despite the unfortunate "evil route" themes/underwhelming story writing. I mean, I guess they had to try and balance the choice somehow; while I'm looking forward to getting to know and play with the Hoshidan family after Conquest, I will say that strong familial connection is not, at least for me, what would cause me to choose them over Nohr. TLDR; I think the sibling family of Nohr is what carries the poor story of Conquest and makes it meaningful. Camilla included, despite her haters.

Has anyone seen this trailer yet? I remember really loving the Awakening Accolades trailer, but this one just blows that out of the water. Its very beautiful and gripping~! I'm really celebrating over the fact that Nintendo finally seems to have gotten how to market a Fire Emblem game; the advertising is amazing! :0

Same. Really for me the only reason to pick Hoshido is "morality" and the fact that they're not terrible human beings, just relatively honorable (and maybe just a tad racist) people . Whereas I love my Nohr siblings and have every right to want to join them again instead of risking life and limb fighting against the family I've already been established to love more than any other for a family of complete strangers who claim to be blood related and say they care about you despite immediately demanding you to butcher the people who raised you without question. I mean, there are good reasons to be on both sides, but the way its almost unrepentantly skewed towards the pure and perfect Hoshido actually repels me from wanting to choose it as a player, especially when I already have such a compelling family of siblings in Nohr. Plus, the Nohr siblings are simply more interesting in character to me. I'll play and enjoy both of course, but I'm playing Conquest first right now for a reason.

Welp, i may as well ask before I get it: What are good asset/flaws and secondary classes for Dark Blood/White Blood in the Nohr and Hoshido campaigns respectively? I feel like I'm going to waste more time trying to decide than playing otherwise... >_<

Grats to the winners and all who were a part of this! I'm really happy that this event was such a success, and I'm glad to be a part of the creative Fire Emblem community; it really is the best! I guess its too bad we didn't have a story rep in the top ten (we were so close), but there were so many amazing and deserving entries that it was an uphill battle from the start. Hopefully we can judge them separately in the future so we can have a fighting chance (and so I can choose to vote more freely between our talented artists and storytellers and not be as torn). XD

A new era of FE has begun here yet again. Good luck to everyone starting their first runs of the game, especially if this happens to be someone's first Fire Emblem! ^_^

I haven't read much more than that one and a few others back during the controversy, but its seems mostly the same otherwise. Its just unfortunate that they seemed to be working up to a confession of sorts and all of a sudden half way through its just another reiteration of being 'best buddies', something they literally just covered in the A Support. I mean, why even include the S Support then? Its just more padding of the same thing and it doesn't really flow well....and I'd imagine the rest are probably the same. I really don't understand the basis behind this localisation decision, especially with how decently they handled the original "problematic" support..... I'm sorry but....I'm simply baffled at this.... :<

I'm kinda bummed too. I remember reading Kiragi/Soleil several months ago and thinking what nice support it was; it didn't focus annoyingly on just their gimmicks and actually showed a nice progression of friendship turning into love (well, as much as you can with only 4 convos). Now the S Support is just an unnecessary tacked on declaration of friendship they already did in the A Support, where clearly they got romantic in the JPN version. I'm honestly not sure anymore if I prefer Eng Soleil or JPN Soleil; something I was pretty sure wouldn't be the case with what I saw of the new Corrin/Soleil Support.... :(

So I was listening to the Fates OST all day today at work with a big goofy grin stuck on my face. I couldn't stop smiling, especially after seeing my SE shipped out; people kept asking me why I was so happy, and I explained that the game I've been waiting for over a year is finally within my grasp tomorrow. Only my fellow gamers really understood, and even then I don't know anyone there who really plays any Nintendo games, so I've been trying to deal with this jittery feeling I've been having all day. I'm still grinning like a fool even now. Am I doing it right??? I'm sooooooooooo hyper and keyed up right now! 8D

Awwww, but that takes all the fun out of it! I have good memories staying up and transcribing by hand during the Awakening days~ jk jk, thanks a lot for the amazing work pumping out all those supports; at least I can take my time playing now rather than rushing to get them all. I do wonder how people can get them all so fast so soon...mysteries never cease... XD And now I can kill time waiting for my pre order with reading! Hope there aren't too many spoilers...

Hmm, yeah I guess I've seen more avatar fanart than otherwise. Is Ryoma/Avatar not popular? I know several people who really seem to be going for it....though that may have something to do with Matt Mercer now that think about it...I still thought lobster lord was pretty popular though compared to most characters, especially non royals. Maybe its just me...? Very true. I suppose I haven't been looking very hard in an attempt to avoid uninvited spoilers, but I guess avatar pairings would dominate most fan work, especially those two. Oddly enough though I haven't found too much fanfiction for anything fates related yet other than a handful on fanfic sites, tumblr, ao3 and such, but I imagine its because most people are waiting for the game here too. Hopefully we'll get a lot more stuff for all characters, ships, and other stuff once it drops. Go to bed Lux! We have a long day of waiting tomorrow! :D
