    Right. I seem to have made a mistake in my excitement. Lucina card was behind it; I didn't notice until you said that, then I remembered it seemed extra thick.

    The game was 19580 JPY which is $158 USD (including shipping) The 3DS was 27680 JPY/$224 USD (incl. shipping) There's an option to download the 3rd path DLC, but it doesn't work at the moment. A paper in the game case says it'll be available on June 30th of next year.

    I finally got to the game. At the end of the opening movie Aqua's amulet breaks off her necklace and splashes into water. The start screen ("press any button") is the amulet and pieces of the chain slowly falling from the top screen into the bottom screen. When it gets to the bottom it starts showing the classes.

    I pre-ordered mine from nin-nin-game.com and I assume I got the fastest shipping but my memory is just a blur of excitement. Someone else I know ordered from solarisjapan.com and got the fastest shipping; his expected delivery date is Monday.

    I had a whole lot of excitement, starting when I woke up, increasing as I heard the doorbell, growing even more as I was opening the packages and taking pictures and then dropping off as I had to go through all the set up and now I'm waiting for an update to download.

    When I was reading the rules back when I started this topic it seemed like you could play a promoted card on top of a different promoted card by paying the promotion cost and it would be called "class change" and work the same as promotion.

    well, this is what he says about each of the two games (~2:02-2:15): hoshido story: fight back against the nohr invasion. nohr story: prevent intrigue/conspiracy (probably rebellion) from within. higher difficulty. stuff we pretty much already knew, but it's confirmed. there's a scene of Aqua using a lance to attack at about 3:16. pair up and dual guard are explained, but that's already in the front page articles. as we already knew, Kamui isn't the only one with a skill (dragon's vein) that affects the battlefield. other royals have skills and Camilla is shown using some sort of fire move that turns the river to steam (presumably so that your allies can walk across it). you can also see male Kamui using some sort of ice-based skill on an object which freezes a small pond or lake on the map at 6:34. there are over 60 characters that can be recruited into your army.     Well, it's definitely confirmed that Tsubaki is a man now. On the characters page of the FE:if official site it shows the Hoshido side, the Nohr side and at the bottom it has Hoshido and Nohr common characters. We already knew they were recruitable in both routes, but now when any new characters are added we'll know which route(s) they're in.

    In case anyone missed the post on the main page, the character section of the updated official site has 2 voice samples for each character. Edit: Each meaning each of the characters on that page (except the avatar). There are still many characters that have not been added to the page yet.

    Some stuff I gleaned quickly from that new page: • A Lord has to be 1-cost • A deck is exactly 50 cards (probably including the Lord, but not definite) • A deck can have up to 4 cards with the same card name (e.g. you can have 4 Lodestar Marth and 4 Great Lord Marth, not 4 total of every card featuring Marth). You can download the playsheet from the fe cipher website: PDF ZIP There's a ton more information on that page but unfortunately I don't have the time to translate it. I see now, aubergine, that you said you would do it, so I'll leave it to you.

    I just want to point out that due to the ambiguity of L/R in Japanese, Cyrus might actually be Silas. Or maybe they'll give him a completely different name altogether, as they often do.

    I agree with aubergine, we should use Nintendo Official translations as much as possible, and that's a good observation that "Lord" can be confusing since we're not sure if it has to be a Lord class. User-friendly and idiot-proof are good general policies. As for the affinities/genders/weapons, we can use the built-in categories function like on Wikipedia, you go to the bottom of the page and it lists the categories, and you can click a category and it will list every page in that category.

    That looks more like a short sword or a long dagger, but in the other screenshot it's clearly been thrown (and from what we've heard they're 1-2 range weapons). Oh, cool. I looked into this a little more and 鬼神 are "monsters" that are invisible to normal people and are the spirits of the deceased who have been given superhuman abilities. The word also has many other meanings in Chinese, which is where it comes to Japanese from, but it's really only the "monster"/bakemono/youkai meaning that exists in Japanese. source

    Two thoughts: • Since they are analogous to the shurikens, might these "Hidden Weapons" just be throwing knives or kunai (which is a more ninja-y throwing knife)? Have we seen any pictures of them yet? • It seems we're calling Rinka/Linca's class "Oni," but the knaji for her class is 鬼人. Only the first kanji is pronounced Oni. The two together don't have a meaning or pronunciation, but there is a character (from Touhou) named 鬼人 which is pronounced Kijin. The first kanji means Demon and the second means Person. That can be a specific type of Japanese demon or just a demon/monster in general, but usually the specific type. Her necklace of large, round beads and her horned headdress both reflect the imagery of the Oni in Japanese culture. Based on the class name, I wonder if she is supposed to be half-human, half-oni or something like that. Or perhaps it's some sort of berserker-type class.

    It definitely is, that's why I tried to establish some terms in the first post so we wouldn't have to guess which things are the same as each other and what stuff means. Might as well add cost and promotion cost and get all the information in one place; it'll make it easier to transfer everything to the wiki once it's back. Thank you so much, Aubergine, for all the work you've done on this. And everyone else as well, I don't mean to exclude anyone, but the amount of effort Aubergine's put into the translations is just fantastic.
