7. I'm using the Prince (Tactician) class ID for the base class (aka 0x51) and one of the Empty (Make a custom class!) ones for the promotion (0x61). I think I've understood what I have to do. Thanks!

So, I've got this class. And I wanted to give it a promotion. So I did. However, I'm having a bit of a problem making it actually promote to that class. Earth seals don't work, and I don't think I have the ability and experience to make a custom promotion item for it. I've messed around with the Promotion Item and Promotion Pointer editors, but I just can't figure out how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated.

So, I'm getting started into romhacking, fooling around, got a project in mind and everything. I've read a few tutorials, but there's some things I don't remember any of the tutorials explaining that I quite can't figure out myself, probably because I'm either stupid, clueless, or both. This is one of them. So far I've managed to edit text and the weather. Now I want to try to make the tactician in the prologue a blue, movable unit for something more complex, and to learn to add units to already existing chapters. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. How would I go about doing this? Does it involve event editing? Hex editing? Is it so simple you facepalmed when you saw this topic? Is this too complex for a beginner? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Hello, I guess. I'm Hazelnuts and Fire Emblem is one of my favorite video game series. I've played 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Currently playing 4, stuck at the final chapter because I didn't know the Dark Warlords would rush all at once and I accidentally killed off Faval to a 56% hit to try and save Celice's behind. Yipee. Anyhow, I'm mostly here for the hacking scene, but I'll try and engage in other topics sometimes. Hope we can get along.
