  1. Shovel Knight is a 7/10, and Specter Knight is a 9/10. Better design and polish all around. But if you're gonna get both, may as well get the Treasure Trove for all 4 campaigns.
  2. 1% drops is a sign that the developers actively hate you. I'd DROP the game if I were you. :P
  3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bomberman_video_games I'm pretty sure almost all Bomberman games allow up to 4 players.
  4. Do the random drops in your game ever have less than a 25% chance of appearing? Are they distributed from a "randomized bag", or is there no guarantee regardless of how many times you Kill The Thing?
  5. Of the Shovel Knight series, the only one I really recommend is Specter of Torment. I do NOT recommend Fairune. I played the 3DS demo, and literally all you do is walk around. It's like Zelda, but minus all the interesting gameplay.
  6. Lode Runner Legacy also looks very nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evM_1rXyYn0
  7. There are lots of good games on the Switch. You should definitely get Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, or you might die of regret.
  8. Replace "game" with "heroin" and "play" with "use". Even for F2P, you've set your standards pretty low. You should cut straight to the hard stuff. Or play Hat Wizard 2.
  9. I wouldn't play Fallout Shelter if I were you. Mostly because it probably won't run on my phone. But also because it is just a Skinner Box. Not much game in there. http://keithburgun.net/psychological-exploitation-in-games/
  10. Nintendo, Retro Studios, and Treasure make Fun Games, and that makes me smile. Other developers I respect are - Choice Provisions Inc. (Bit.Trip Presents... Runner 2, Future Legend of Rhythm Alien) ChunSoft (Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer) Ganbarion (Pandora's Tower) Image & Form (SteamWorld Heist) Namco (Klonoa series) Platinum (Bayonetta 1 & 2, Okami as Clover Studios) Prope (Rodea the Sky Soldier) Shin'en (FAST Racing NEO, Art of Balance) Ubisoft (Rayman series, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes) WayForward (Shantae series, Mighty Flip Champs)
  11. Most air grabs belong to superheavyweights who would literally have no landing options otherwise, and be garbage tier. With that said, I am a Dedede main and think Inhale needs a massive buff for Smash 5. It sucks, no pun intended.
  12. Although I haven't got the chance to play it yet, I am very excited about Patch Quest, a roguelike that not only looks amazing, but is FREE to play (right now, anyways)! Good turn-based grid-placed games are exceptionally tough to find nowadays, so I hope you all like this one.
  13. I think a Mystery Dungeon Zelda spinoff would be best, since clearing dungeons is already what Link does. I hear the Pokemon MD's are mediocre, but Shiren the Wander (DS) is excellent, and I think a Zelda-fied version of it would work well.
  14. If you want Zelda to become a turn-based RPG, what will make it better than the games you mentioned? What will make it unique? Unique turn-based gameplay is very possible, like Clash of Heroes and Shiren the Wanderer, but the last Nintendo game with really good TB combat was Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, over a decade ago. Unless you count Mario + Rabbids, which was mostly developed by Ubisoft.
  15. @DisobeyedCargo Can you define "RPG"? Because the Zelda series has already toyed with nearly all standard RPG mechanics.
  16. My advice would be to play a racing game with less direct player interactions. (Or rather, interactions that are avoidable) In Mario Kart, if someone targets you with powerful items, there is not much you can do to stop them. In futuristic racers (which usually emphasize skill more), you can just... go so fast that they don't catch up. In F-Zero GX you can use a side attack to smash them completely off the track. Very satisfying. As far as I know, Mario Kart 8 shares 90% of items with Mario Kart 7, so yeah, there's probably still bullying.
  17. As a gentleman who has never been rejected, here is my advice - 1. Don't be a crippling nervous wreck when talking to faces you aren't intimately familiar with. If this is your natural personality trait, you're kinda hosed. 2. Just ask to hang out. When you hang out exactly 3 times, serve the Compatibility Questionnaire. It's very important, and speeds up the dating process exponentially. If it turns them off, that just means they aren't science-minded enough to appreciate a good questionnaire. End the relationship immediately. 3. If you score even one date, you have already beaten my record. 4. If none of that works, you can get REALLY scientific - https://www.ted.com/talks/amy_webb_how_i_hacked_online_dating Good luck.
  18. When you sneeze into the open, you spread germs. When you spread germs, people get sick. When people get sick, hospitals get crowded. When hospitals get crowded, viruses spread. When viruses spread, a zombie apocalypse happens. Don't make a zombie apocalypse happen. Get rid of cable and upgrade to DirecTV.
  19. I find it funny that you guys mention unreliable controls, unskippable tutorials, empty worlds, and similar issues. A month ago I started a gaming blog and have already addressed these topics to some extent. https://funpersecond.wordpress.com/

  21. Gameplay. All other elements are unnecessary and secondary to the extent they aren't justifying or complementing gameplay. "Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important."
  22. I hope Prime 4 is cleverly designed to minimize backtracking for the player who knows where they're going... with lots of shortcuts connecting the world. Prime 1 did some of this, but there could be more. I also hope the save points act as a fast travel system, and refill ammo as well. Put all the pit stops in one room, yeah? Most importantly, doors should open instantly and cutscenes should be minimal and skippable. I want a seamless flow of gameplay with no down time.
  23. So, a racing game where you can make things spontaneously explode? Neat. Although, it doesn't look like it'll reach the sheer speed and intensity of F-Zero GX.
  24. From a Famitsu Weekly interview with Tetsuya Nomura - FW: You are the one who writes out the plot for all the titles of the series, so when writing up the story what do you focus on above all else? Nomura: Making it “surprising.” While I’m writing out the plot, if things seem that you can predict the outcome on your own, then I think of a different, unexpected development. KH is the definition of Kudzu Plot. I expect KHIII will vainly attempt to clean things up, but I doubt people will look back on KH and say "Yeah, that was a very sensible story."
