  1. List of Wii U Exclusives Welp, there goes another one.
  2. I remember really enjoying the RPG Pandora's Tower. The grinding is mostly optional and the bosses are actually fun in that game. I hope it gets a remake some day.
  3. The SNES classics, Super Mario World and Zelda: ALTTP. Still among the best games Nintendo's made. Spongebob Squarepants and some other cartoons. I don't remember, but it was my first FE, and eventually led me to Advance Wars. On YT, I mostly watch gaming related channels, like - I'm not fit to judge myself, but I can try a Wikipedia Personality Trait Check. I don't like FFIV, so I have no answers for those questions. I. Metal, I guess? II. Sloth, Kindness. III. A friend lent FE: Shadow Dragon. IV. The same friend told me about this site, or I found it on my own. V. Nope. VI. Fright. VII. A randomly generated name in Fate, which my brother and I enjoyed about a decade ago.
  4. 6. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The original Paper Mario is also pretty good. 7. I'm currently researching board games, full of interesting and elegant design that the VGs sorely lack, and will continue to lack forever because everything has to be a simulation for some reason. 8. My family has a dog. 9. *Checks self* Nope, still not a millionaire. 10. I only universally recommend the second game, but sure - 1. You will never find a game with a more relentless pace. (Unless it's another Treasure game, of course.) Absolute zero padding, and the load times are amazingly short for how long the levels are. 2. The difficulty curve is flawless. It's intensely challenging, yet completely fair. 3. The controls are perfect, and using the sword to deflect missiles is so satisfying. Don't knock it 'til you try it. 4. The scoring system is elegant and addictive. 5. There is a greater quantity and quality of bosses than any other game... ever. The final stage is the best boss rush in Nintendo's history. But don't take it from me, take it from BrightBow.
  5. Kingdom Hearts was a pretty good idea, until it took 16 years and ~15 releases to reach the number 3. I lost interest after Birth by Sleep, partly because KH games are not fun to 100%, and partly because I got tired of how samey the series' gameplay started to feel. I think I'll jump back in with KH4, which should only be a decade or two.
  6. A polite, intelligent game expert/connoisseur/aficionado. I can't say. Intelligence, pragmatism, empathy, humor. Close-minded, manipulative. You can ask up to seven questions, but make them count, and don't make them too personal. @KeAThey're cute. 1. Cake, all kinds. 2. I never played any, or even owned an NES for that matter. 3. Although I like VGM, I don't know enough about music to define genres. 4. I don't play games just for atmosphere, but I must say Super Mario Odyssey looks like a winner. 5. Wii Remote and Nunchuck, an underrated controller. The IR pointer made amazing titles like Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Rodea the Sky Soldier. I'm flabbergasted it wasn't used to improve 2D Metroid and Yoshi games. If the "infrared depth tracking sensor" in Joy-Con R can't be used like the Wii's IR pointer, console shooters will be dead again. 1. Kirby's Return to Dreamland, a game of unadulterated joy (and 11 years of development hell). 2. Magolor, the mageliest Kirby boss. 3. By theme you must mean music. Kirby games have excellent soundtracks, so that's a hard question. I'll just give you my top five from RTD. Challenge Stage Looming Darkness Machine Area Magolor (Phase 1) Nutty Noon 4. Mirror, although I'm also fond of Circus. 5. I don't care for fanart, but Kirby's got some good ones.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cel-shaded_video_games I'm surprised no one included Wind Waker; it's practically obligatory. Cel-shading FTW.
  8. To be fair, I considered slipping DOOM into my suggestion list as a joke. I haven't played Oblivion, but while it was originally rated T, the ESRB later bumped it to M.
  9. "nonviolent and appropriate"? That alone removes, like, 50% of games. Her mom might as well have said "and you're not allowed to have fun, either". These are all from Wikipedia's list of Xbox One games, so if there's any backwards compatibility or XBLA, I don't know about it. I can't confirm that all of these are of good quality AND deaf friendly AND child appropriate, but this list should be narrow enough.
  10. I found the final boss nowhere near worth the effort to reach him. Chapters 5-8 were such a slog that by the time I got there, I didn't care anymore. Also, my party was Literally Invincible, so the battle sucked too. Even Guacamelee's "world-destroying demonic final boss" was better, and that was the low point of that game.
  11. Once you clear Chapter 4, stop playing and watch the ending on YouTube. Then play Bravely Second. Or, watch the story on YouTube, and then play Bravely Second.
  12. @ThaneAlthough I didn't finish Xenoblade Chronicles, I got far enough to kill Metal Face. My thoughts on it...
  13. I would not recommend Final Fantasy IV (at least not the DS version). It is, and you can quote me on this, "A massive f***ing level grind". I gave it to a friend just to torture them, forgot to ask for it back, moved to a different state, and was happy that I lost it. You're much better off replacing it with Bravely Default - not even Bravely Second, Bravely Default, the game that's 50% recycled content because Square Enix thought 20 hours wasn't long enough. I also hate the ATB system, but whatever. I rate FFIV a 4/10.
  14. The World Ends With You is my favorite Final Fantasy. It's not Fantasy at all, but it's way more Final (it's never getting a sequel).
  15. https://serenesforest.net/general/true-hit/ "To miss, the averaged value of the 2 RNs must be lower than 1." It should say "To hit" instead of "To miss".
  16. So, you don't want autopilot and straightforward, you want the chunky resistance? In that case, you'll LOVE DKC Returns/Tropical Freeze.
  17. If I were in your position, I'd get... Donkey Kong Country Returns/Tropical Freeze - Tropical Freeze is currently The Best 2D Platformer Ever. Since you own the platform for which it is exclusive, either you have zero interest in the platforming genre, or you need it right now. Returns isn't far behind, but the 3DS version has an extra world. These games sh** all over the New Super Mario series. Sonic Generations or Sonic Colors - These are both great Sonic games, but Generations is best played on PC, with 60 fps and a mod for the daytime stages of Unleashed. So I'd get Colors instead. 3D Dot Game Heroes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL3qVfemEp4
  18. Super Mario Odyssey DLC... The Haunted Kingdom - Evershade Valley. I'm calling it.
  19. Pikachu talking... this is either the worst thing ever, or the best thing ever.
  20. I will post this article, as always - http://www.gamesradar.com/five-reasons-you-suck-if-you-dont-play-okami/ If you're gonna buy Okami (and you should, since you don't want to suck), try and get a version that supports motion controls (Wii Remote or Playstation Move). Standard controls work, but the main mechanic can be executed much faster with motion controls, making the entire game more enjoyable.
  21. Have you ever speedran the Rush series? Not only are there many paths, but there are lots of tricks you can do to shave time. Speedrunning the Rush series requires a lot of strategy and finesse. Personally, I've always found the "There aren't enough paths" argument to be missing the point. If a level has one million paths and exactly one of them is the fastest, the other 999,999 paths will rot in a ditch, so the design was wasted. Multiple paths are not as important as the ability to switch between them, creating a faster and more complex "meta-path".
