  1. I wonder if there's going to be some sort of trick to add more games to the system like there apparently was for the NES Classic (I say apparently because, like 99% of the Nintendo fanbase, I wasn't able to get an NES Classic). In any case, I already put in a time off request for the 29th of September. Now I just need to show up at about 11 PM or so on the 28th and just wait outside for nine hours for the store to open at 8 AM. Hopefully that's early enough to get an SNES Classic before they sell out. It's going to be a long wait, and will get incredibly boring if my 3DS battery doesn't last the whole night. Not to mention late September weather in Minnesota being unpredictable. However, I think it will be well worth it.
  2. Well, time to take a day off work from Target just to spend it waiting outside the door of Target. Probably should try getting there really early. My Target's probably going to get like, four of these things on launch and then never get any again.
  3. I basically realized he had nothing of value to add to the conversation when he started using terms like "cuck" and "SJW" unironically.
  4. Same here. I just want a villain who acts like a human being and not a cardboard cutout of Dick Dastardly. I don't actually care if they're a human, dragon, or an evil talking platypus (OK, that last one might be hard to take seriously no matter how well-written they are). As a rule of thumb, you should be able to ask "why are they doing this?" at any point (at least in retrospect, since I understand the point of keeping a villain's goals and motivations mysterious before the end) and have the answer be something other than "because EVIL!!!"
  5. I kinda want Treehouse to do the localization just so that people will stop acting like the original Japanese version of Fates was some flawless, perfect game that was ruined by bad localization. The English version of Fates sucked because the Japanese version of Fates sucked, plain and simple. I mean, I'm not defending every localization decision Treehouse made, because they did make some pretty bad decisions (Saizo and Beruka's C Support immediately comes to mind). However, some changes were actually improvements over the original (not enough to save the game as a whole, though) and I can respect a localization team that's willing to take risks to fix things that don't transfer well culturally, even if those risks don't always pan out. Of course, 8-4 did a great job with Shadows of Valentia (and a decent job with Awakening, too), so I can't say I'd be too upset if they localize FE Switch, either.
  6. Found an error on the Shadows of Valentia subquest page: https://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-echoes-shadows-valentia/miscellaneous/sub-quests/ For the "Craving Cute" sub-quest, you say she considers Coral Rings to be a cute item. She doesn't. It's actually Coral Fragments that she likes.
  7. I haven't gone in there yet, but I'm putting one hell of a team together. Alm (Conqueror with Falchion) Celica (Princess with Beloved Zofia. Considering swapping her out because she's kinda redundant with Delthea) Clair (Falcon Knight with Clair's Lance. Will make her a Harrier before I go, since I only need two more levels might give her my second Gradivus instead of her DLC lance since it's currently on the bench with Lukas) Mathilda (Gold Knight with Gradivus. Also close to reaching Level 20, so I might take the time to make her a Skogul) Delthea (Priestess with Ladyblade) Atlas (Dread Fighter with Mercurius, one loop) Saber (Sage with Dracoshield. "Promoted" him to Villager as a Level 10 Dread Fighter then turned him into a Mage. He's actually my best healer, and near-invincible with that Dracoshield, which isn't too much of a liability since he has 34 base speed right now) Kamui (Bow Knight with Parthia. Like Saber, I turned him into a different class after "promoting" him to a Villager from Dread Fighter) Leon (Bow Knight with Killer Bow. Considering swapping him out, since he's lagging behind Bow Knight!Kamui by quite a bit) Tatiana (Saint with Mage Ring. She's actually my backup healer with Saber as my main one. I use her mostly for Warp and Fortify, since Saber doesn't get those) As for who I'll replace Celica and Leon with, I'm thinking Gray or Tobin (both Dread Fighters, Gray with a Brave Sword and Tobin with a Rapier) or perhaps Lukas (Baron with Gradivus, though I'm thinking of using the Pitchfork on him) or Sonya (Priestess with Ladyblade. Wouldn't solve Celica's "redundant with Delthea" problem, but like Delthea (and unlike Celica) she gets Rewarp, and like Celica (but unlike Delthea) she gets Excalibur)
  8. It's New3DS only, but yes. Edit: Was beaten to it.
  9. Well, at least I won't have to buy a Switch until FE Switch comes out (or Xenoblade 2, if it comes out first. Or perhaps some other game that hasn't been announced yet). I might go out and buy the 3DS version if characters from the Elibe or Tellius games, or from Shadows of Valentia, are added as DLC. But it's definitely not going to be an at-launch buy for me anymore.
  10. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's historically accurate that peasants called into war during Medieval times weren't supplied with weapons by their lords (well-made weapons were really expensive) and would have to basically use whatever tools they owned instead, so axes would probably be the most common (though polearms like pitchforks were also used pretty frequently, so giving them lances would kinda make sense, too).
  11. Why not both? Make each first-tier able to promote into one of two second-tier classes, and then make each second-tier able to promote into one of two third-tier classes. Would probably be a hassle to come up with that many classes, but if IS can come up with two completely different sets of classes for Nohr and Hoshido in Fates then they could probably do this. Of course, I don't honestly think they will, but I can dream.
  12. My phone is a museum piece (I got it in 2010 and it was outdated even back then. It's not even a smartphone. I suppose it's a tradeoff for having my sister pay my phone bill), so I can't actually play this game. However, if I ever get a better one in the future, I'm probably going to download FE Heroes right away, so: Archanea: Bantu, Gharnef, Hardin Valentia: Celica (she's pretty much a given at this point, though), Saber, Mae, Valbar Jugdral: Sigurd, Deirdre, Ayra, Arvis, Travant, Leif, Finn Elibe: Melady, Echidna, Dorcas, Rath, Oswin, Canas, Sonia, Batta the Beast (Too OP) Magvel: Seth, Lute, L'Arachel, Duessel, Joshua, Gerik, Marisa, Innes, Tana Tellius: Ilyana, Marcia, Nephenee, Zihark, Jill, Haar, Elincia, Volke, Micaiah, Sothe, Nolan, Black Knight, Ranulf, Lethe, Mordecai, Tibarn, Naesala, Dheginsea Awakening (Technically also set on Archanea and Valentia, but whatever): Gregor, Walhart, Noire, Mustafa Fateslandia: Silas, Flora, Kaze.
  13. Well, I disagree with Neil Gorsuch on pretty much every issue. In the spirit of fairness, however, I hope the Democrats give him the same fair consideration as the Republicans gave Merrick Garland last year.
  14. The difference here is that FE Warriors is a New 3DS Exclusive while Hyrule Warriors Legends is playable on a regular 3DS. I'm not saying we're going to get a roster as big as most people are hoping (and we probably wouldn't even if it was a Switch exclusive), but I'd say we're very likely to get more than Hyrule Warriors in both versions.
  15. This was a very nice Direct. FE Heroes looks neat, but unfortunately my phone is basically an ancient rock that only calls and texts, so I won't personally be able to play it. Still, good for the people who can. The FE2 Remake is nice-looking, too. It was one of those games that I've tried to play, but was definitely a product of its time with a lot of overall clunkiness that always made it hard to get into. So, being able to play an updated version will be nice. Lastly, FE Warriors getting a New3DS release was huge for me, too, since I probably won't be able to afford a Switch until at least a year after launch (which will be just in time to get the new FE Switch game that was announced in this Direct, and maybe the new Xenoblade game, too). All in all, possibly my favorite Direct in the last few years.
