  1. I prefer the series to go on without it. The narrative benefits do not outweigh the gameplay consequences imo. The most you lose without forced promotions is a sense of growth and progress from a character or narrative standpoint, which can be attained without forced promotion. Honestly if you didn't get your legendary weapon until the late game that alone would be a good tool for showing character growth, especially if they had to undergo an arduous task to acquire it. Timing doesn't seem to be the primary concern with previous forced promotions. Since promotion timings have been hit-and-miss at best, you can probably expect future games with forced promotions to be hit-and-miss. Having said that, a note on reclassing: You can create a bit of code that prohibits the lord character to use Master Seals even if they reclass. If future reclass systems use Fates' level retention (level 10 Lord reclassing to level 10 Cavalier), then it would be a solid system. Will it return? Probably/Eventually. Not every new game is going to be Awakening/Fates (I should hope). Should it return? Debatable; you can't count on the timing being good for gameplay.
  2. I voted FE14 Conquest, although in hindsight I probably had more trouble with Awakening Lunatic. Conquest had some really hard maps, thanks largely to Fates' brutal enemy phase (dual strike OP). Have yet to play it on Lunatic though. For perspective I've played every FE except FE1 NES and FE3 SNES.
  3. Happy Birthday!!! (again)

  4. Happy Birthday!!!

  5. Happy Birthday!!!

  6. FE2: Cliff. FE4: Lex!Skasaher/Lakche. FE5: Shanam Fin, for capturing everything w/ dat Brave Rance. FE6: Rutger. FE7: Lowen. FE8: Ross. FE9: Ike. FE10: Mia. FE11: Star Wolf.
  7. Practicality? Bases. Personal Preferance? Growths. Also: Earlier in the game I'll take growths. Later in the game I'll take bases over growths. For example, I'll take Ross over Garcia. As for Amelia/Ewan... lol
  8. hmm... How 'bout any combination of Tiki/Fa/Myrrh?(Screw Bantu, and dragon laguz) Or Roy+Marth? Or Saul+Sain? Or Kent+Dorothy(For having to deal with the prior)? How 'bout Oliver+Gheb?
  9. If it's Ilyana then your chances of being hungry woudn't be 99%... they'd be 300%. *gasp* YOU FILTHY BAa....DADADADASTARD!
  10. I think he's a pretty cool guy, eh kills dragons and doesn't afraid of anything. Seriously though, Marth is decent. He would be better if his character were more fleshed out, but I have nothing against him. And besides; pants are for sissies! Quirky little crack pairing/fetish you got there.
  11. Shanam and Shanan. The imposter meets the impostee, and proceeds to have his arse handed to him in an obligated duel.
  12. Funny, I figured Christians would be more hated. Particularly given that I hear constant complaints about hypocritical "Christians"(Most "Christians" in America honestly don't care about the Bible, and those who do are sadly the minority). On the actual topical subject: Some "primitive" hunter-gatherer cultures may have absolutely no law whatsoever(or have a few very simple rules) because they've never needed one. In such small, often nomadic cultures sticking together and surviving is often the preferable option to any "immoral deed" that might compromise long-term survival. I may be completely wrong in this assertion, or I may not. Now, as for whether or not law is neccessary... The more indepentant people become, the greater need there is for control(law). The reason such afformentioned "lawless" cultures can thrive is because, since they are mutually dependant on eachother for suvival, they need to put the well being of the group/community before their own. When someone is not dependant on others for survival, it is harder to keep them from doing what has been established as 'culturally unacceptable' and so boundries(laws) need to be set, and people who are willing and capable need to take charge and enforce these laws to keep these independant people in line. Again, I may be totally inacurate in this assertion, but I think the core point remains true: The more independant the individual, the more there needs to be law to keep them in line. As for the morality of law? Morality itself is an entirely different ballgame, as this is defined purely by individual ideals, but law is neccessity, albeit neccessity that is often clouded and distorted by the very human nature that the law is required to discipline.
  13. I'd first marvel at God's sense of humor... then I'd try and move on with my life. Problem is: How do I explain to my family/friends that I am now a chick with stunning looks? I'm especially not sure how the guys in my youth group would react. Then there's dealing with hormonal differences and having to comepletly redo my wardrobe. And then there's legal stuff, considering the guy I was essentially vanished from the face of the earth(There goes my college credits and scholarships, along with my US citizenship). There's a lot of cons to this "body transaction." I would loose a ton, and what would I gain? Boobs and a vagina? I can't "enjoy my body," get laid, or any of that other stuff due to my faith(which is probably a good thing). So, yeah. I'm in the "bad idea" camp. If I woke up as the female FE character in their own world? Indeffinitely brighter scenerio. Now, as for the character herself... it depends. I generally don't show favoritism, so in that context there's actually a fairly large pool of "Favorite Female Characters" to choose from... roulette style. If I had to pick a favorite female FE character then she would likely be Elincia. Or Yulia. One of the two. Or Ninian. Maybe Mia. And this is where I drop the subject. Maybe. Anyone else notice I tend to type paragraphs?
