Yashiro for sure. Hero is my favorite class, and the fact that he can promote to one instantly makes him likable to me. I've always been the fan of the overly cool, perfect kind of characters, and he fits the role perfectly.

All of the Royals perform well in their base classes, although I'd definitely recommend Sorcerer Leo, he really helped me during the last few chapters. I mainly used all the royals as my main units, along with Effie as a general. Chapters 10 and 25 were the most difficult for me by far, so watch out for those.
