  1. Ah, thanks, I haven't had a chance to play Star Fox yetOn the subject of the Picture of the Day for today, I think it's a cool idea, although because it's being integrated, I doubt we'll see the return of the lottery system from Melee. Personally, as long as the coin shooting game from Brawl doesn't return, I'm fine with this. Also it looks like every trophy on this specific screen costs the same amount, being 300 coins, I think it's logical for there to be higher or lower priced trophies based on either their rarity or their importance to a series or Sakurai. Sales are neat though, it reminds me of that overpriced weapon shop from Kid Icarus Uprising where you purchased weapons with hearts
  2. Anyone know who that trophy on the top-left of the bottom screen on the second picture is? I can't quite make it out
  3. Eh, I could care more, I mean Raimi had a unique model as well as a unique color scheme, I'd personally expect her to be playable in some form before ol' caterpillar lips
  4. I'm glad they picked up the original voice cast for the Fire Emblem characters, after I couldn't hear Fred Tatasciore voicing Magnus, I was afraid Sakurai wouldn't stick with the established cast. Also I'm just going to leave this here *cough cough Ike's sword turns blue* Oh gosh, all I could pick out of the Japanese trailer was Geegah Fiyah
  5. Do we know for sure Lucina isn't a Marth alt skin yet, I saw a lot of very similar moves, INCLUDING Marth's idle animation
  6. Brb DYING OF AWESOMENESS Also ha, Gematsu was wrong, about time too, and after I was all pumped for Shulk too... Not that this isn't 8000 times better in my eyes
  7. This might derail conversation a little, but did the creator of Xenoblade work on any other games or notable characters in the past? I understand the reasoning for it to be interpreted as Shulk being revealed, I just wonder if maybe they're sending all of us on a wild goose chase so we're completely surprised
  8. By the way, apparently a character reveal is happening on the 14th at 7 am PST. Over the official Nintendo YouTube I believe what anniversaries are coming up
  9. I approve of 'Murio and the imitation Light Suit costume, all these alt costumes are really awesome. I like the huge amount of them Sakurai seems to be pulling from everywhere Also, on a side note:
  10. This might be a stupid idea, but maybe Sakurai hasn't shown us a gamemode for the Wii U that has similar ideas to smash run, where the characters get boosted attributes such as attack range or strength. Maybe the range of Palutena's up smash has been boosted by something like this, or maybe the reintroduction of stickers or something silly like that. I don't like to think that Palutena has that much range in any of her attacks unless ones with range like that have ridiculous cooldowns that could lead to being easily punished upon missing or if it was used when the opponent was at low damage. It LOOKS strong, but I can't think if too many drawbacks to it, besides the fact that it presumably has little horizontal range Heavenly light or whatever it's called (pardon my laziness for not looking it up) looks like it leaves Palutena wide open for punishment after being used as it doesn't stagger the opponent at all and appears to have a cooldown animation, so I have absolutely nothing against it except that it would be a pain just causing constant chip damage
  11. It's because of the main argument against Ridley, "he's too big!". Whenever Sakurai explicitly mentions size or height, it's just ritual for people to make their rounds about how Ridley is confirmed because Sakurai says size doesn't matter
  12. Ah, I had forgotten about that. My bad then, although it helps my argument a little this way.But what doesn't help me is that thing from DYKG, in fact, that can probably only help give the Gematsu "leak" more credibility. Say this person got their hands on an early character list, since as stated, characters were decided months before Smash 4 was revealed, maybe Greninja was still listed as X/Y pokemon, or villager didn't have an official name and was listed as animal crossing guy. I still don't believe it, but it's worth looking at something like this with an unbiased point of view. The whole Rhythm Heaven enemy in Smash Run just says to me that we have some sort of Rhythm Heaven representation in the new game, maybe not necessarily the Chorus Men. The samurai is unique for a swordfighter, or karate Joe could be a different sort of bare-fisted fighter. I guess my main concern about the Chorus Men is that I just don't know how on Earth they could be played, I have this sort of one-at-a-time pokemon trainer style character in mind where they switch between the three little characters and each has its own characteristics to its attacks, but that qualifies as a transformation, so I've got nothing.
  13. I actually didn't know this yet, this sort of discredits my thought a little bit, but I still think he might have somehow just got his hands on the show notes and not the full roster. Ah, wait, he had Little Mac too...Has the person who "leaked" all of this stated whether this is all the newcomers?
  14. I understand it's a low chance, like borderline impossible low, but it's still a chance. I'm still open to the possibility that maybe the person who leaked these characters to Gematsu did receive the E3 list of characters beforehand somehow, sort of like how Mario Maker was leaked prior to E3 this year. However he only received the E3 characters and Little Mac, the second set is just a set of safe guesses with an oddball thrown in, but that's about all I'm willing to surrender to Gematsu
  15. A good guesser will always just be a good guesser, as much as I'm still a little worried that he's right, I don't believe he's the definitive end-all list of newcomers, or that all of his characters will necessarily be in game. I won't deny it, guessing Wii fit trainer, Little Mac, and the villager were impressive, but everyone else is sort of obvious, once you look past the little bit of spectacular in his list, the rest is just copy-paste bleh on most everyone's lists. Palutena? I don't know who didn't expect her. A gen six pokemon? Not only is it vague, it seems like a safe enough bet. Pacman? In a kid's game developed by Namco? Never. I vaguely recall hearing he said something about the Miis, which is a pretty good guess; I think most of us figured we wouldn't get them because they hadn't made it into Brawl. What I feel breaks this for me is that he couldn't guess Rosalina, a character with a decent chance of being chosen. I think because he didn't predict Rosalina, everything else that he's been right about was just lucky guessing. It's impressive for what he's gotten right so far, but to me, getting certain things wrong sort of jeopardizes the validity of it all. This is bias and opinions on the side here, but I also don't think Shulk is going to make the cut. Because Xenoblade only had a limited release, there is no way that including him will boost sales of the game like Roy was meant to for Fire Emblem in the Melee days. He might introduce people to the new game, whose title escapes me at the moment, but that feels like a long shot to me. It just feels like it's too late and he holds no extreme significance to Nintendo the same way Game and Watch and ROB do. I don't mean to sound like I'm hating on people because they believe, that wasn't my intention, it's fine if people trust his predictions or supposed "leaks". I just don't.
  16. I hope they add more alternate colors before the final release, I'm gonna miss ALttP Toon Link and bad laundry day Adult Link otherwise
  17. I saw Magnus as an Assist Trophy during the stream The dream is dead It'll still be cool to have him do things though, although I wish he wasn't so short. I get that he has to hunch over to swing his sword and all, but he's still tall even like that
  18. I heard it isn't, I think all we can do is follow them live tweeting it Apparently their new project is "Codename S.T.E.A.M"
  19. Yeah, people have just suddenly started catching onto it is all. Now that buffer Ike has made his way to a bigger audience, more people can react to his redesign (I myself haven't played Radiant Dawn, so I didn't know Ike had such a cool new design)
  20. I love that image. I don't think I've laughed at something smash related since the hype train images and that one thing comparing how tons of characters are getting buffer
  21. That looks like an awesome stage, it looks like it represents FE better than castle siege did. Arenas were in a lot of FE games, right? I'm a little uneducated on the subject. I know they were in the gameboy titles, but I don't want to be saying things that aren't true. I never said anything about Ike back when he was revealed to be returning; I like the newer design, the muscles suit him. I don't really know, I was kind of hoping he wouldn't come back because he sort of writes off my most wanted character; Magnus, as really unlikely. We can't have multiple big, bulky swordsmen running around smacking people, that'd be redundant and I doubt Sakurai would revisit having similar characters like that. Nonetheless, he looks cool and I'm sure he'll be fun to play as, but, eh, it's ambivalent for me. Not hating on Ike
  22. I actually like that he showed off this feature, as much as I never had a terrible problem with keeping track of everyone's damage percentages, this feels like it would at least make it easier. I like these aesthetic-related pictures, they make one realize just how much detail they're put into everything in the game
  23. I didn't say anything yesterday, but cool, Ike's new design looks great. It suits his playstyle really well, I'm a little surprised they brought him back, but maybe this is a good sign for the roster having some more people in it than last time. This is a really cool idea, do you think they would change the voice tracks if they went along with it? I can only assume they'll be doing that with the Wii Fit trainers as well
