My thoughts: Black Eagles: Ferdinand: No. Edelgard strips his family of power and as a result, his father is boned. Really. Boned. Even though Ferdie himself is a bit naive to inner political matters, this would cross a line and he would want to see her defeated. Dorothea: Debatable, considering despite her hatred for the nobility, war is not something shes ok with. But its more likely she would stick with Edelgard. Petra: Lmao no. She is not an idiot, and knows damn well shes nothing more than a hostage. Edelgard's defeat would mean Brigid independence and safety. The only way she would side with the Empire is to make sure Brigid isnt invaded again. Linhardt: This guy wants to be a crest scholar. Its his ambition next to sleeping. Edelgard wants to crush that system. I cant see Linhardt being totally ok with that. Bernadetta: No. She doesn't really have any real loyalty to her father and house. She'd want to join Byleth regardless. Caspar: Yeah he would stay. He is very proud of being of house Bergleiz. He would believe Edelgard's cause is right and just. Hubert: Serves Edelgard without question. Blue Lions Felix: lol no. He may have beefs with Dimitri and his own dad, but those are more personal than political. He finds Edelgard's justifications rather foul. Ingrid: Nope. Her country and the future of her house mean a lot to her. Sylvain: Despite his hatred of the system, i find it unlikely that he'd betray his best friends in the whole world. Ashe: I feel like he would join Claude, simply to find out why Lonato was a patsy. Maybe he wouldnt side with the church right away, but the Empire? Nah. Annette: Hard no. She loves her country, begs for her father to return to her life, and would find Edelgard's cause repugnant. Mercedes: Very no. She's extremely pious and the Empire's use of the Death Knight really upsets her. Golden Deer Hilda: Nope. She's actually quite loyal to her brother, Claude, and the whole Alliance. Marianne: No. She may resent her crest, but shes a firm believer of the Church of Seiros. She even questions if turning on the church is even forgivable if you poach her in BE. Lysithea: Maybe, only to smash the crest system She and Edelgard both had been experimented on, so she may find common ground there. But since Edelgard works with the Agarthans, im not too sure Lysithea would be kosher with that. Ignatz: While he isnt noble, he would not see the point of what the Empire is trying to do plus, he is a believer in the church Raphael: He already lost his parents, hes not about to turn his back on his little sis so no. Lorenz: He goes where Glouster is concerned. If his father sides with the Empire, so will he. Leonie: Devoted to Jeralt as she is, she would blame Edelgard for everything that happened to him. Church of Seiros: Cyril: Hes literally Rhea's Pomeranian Catherine: is literally Rhea's doberman Shamir: She'd join the Empire if the price was right Gilbert: Hes actually loyal to the Kingdom so no hell, he wont even join you on church route. Hanneman: I find it difficult that a crest scholar would be down with destroying crests. He does have some fondness for the Empire as his former home, however..... Manuela: Maybe, simply to ensure the safety of her opera squad. Seteth: He would never turn his back on his family. He clings tenaciously to what he has left. Flayn: Also would not betray her family. She bolts in BE anyway. I honestly feel that a lot of moral mental gymnastics need to be done in order to justify siding with Edelgard for a huge amount of characters.

ALL OF THIS! In the the GD/Church routes: It sounded to me that Edelgard had something very emotional to say to Byleth that came from the heart.

This. People are different in how they grow. I havent grown in height since i was 17. (That was literally over 20 years ago) Some folx like Bern and Edelgard are just petite. While others just kinda fill out (Hilda, Linhardt, Ashe, Petra, Ignatz). Some just mature in their appearance ( Dorothea, Claude, Dedue, Marianne, Lysithea, Ingrid, Sylvain, Felix, Raphael, Hubert). Then you get Whoa Growth Spurt/Radical change (Caspar, Dimitri, Annette, Ferdinand, and Lorenz to an extent) And then theres Mercedes whos already a full adult, so the only thing that really changed in 5 years is how she wears her hair.

Ferdie, yes thank you. Of those two crests, theres no one other than Seteth and Flayn carrying major ones. This is actually why Seteth keeps telling Hanneman to bugger off when he presses about studying the crests of those two. It really is in details, so its fair if it gets overlooked.

His jp voice actor is D I O lol. If i didnt flutter every time he opens his mouth in English, id switch to jp just to hear it.

There are people with the Minor crest like Linhardt. Thats what Hanneman meant. Flayn's is a Major. I think Sylvain is the one with a Minor crest of Cichol.

Rhea endorsed the nobility for the sake of order. It seemed any squabbling between the nobility was something Rhea didnt give a shit about. She really isnt keen on letting Relics go willy nilly in people's hands. Believe it or not, Rhea doesnt find folx turning into demonic beasts terribly awesome. but honestly (mega spoilas btw)

Lysithea has like the highest mag growth in the game or some crazy shit. She is a goddamn nuke that melts everything. Give her the Thyrsus (sp??) staff and LONG RANGE NUKE. DK Lysithea is b u s t e d. Characterwise, shes a cute bean and i like her

I did Deer first. Fave Blue Lion goes to Dimitri even though im fond of everyone in there. Fave Black Eagle is actually Hubie. Again, i like just everyone in there tho. Fave Deer is Claude obviously. But all the Deers are special due to it being my first run. Fave Other is Seteth. Fave overall character in the game is Seteth. Honestly, the only character i cannot stand in this game is Cyril. Everyone else, even Rhea, is cool bananas in one way or another

I played GD first. She unnerved me in that route. Sane Rhea is manipulative, secretive, and a bit cruel. Commanding Byleth to murder her perceived enemies, using Byleth in general, and that whole bit of executing guys without even questioning them really grossed me out. Im more weary about sane Rhea than how she is in BE.

His English voice is really sexy to me. I tend to play in English so, i cant really say much. But im not the sort who would enjoy Bernie in Japanese. Yikes

Grew to Like: Bernadetta- she has a very unattractive pre-skip design and is way irritating. While still a bit irritating, her supports explain why shes that way. Post-skip shes much less irritating. Seteth: i was at first underwhelmed by this guy. He came off as a dude with stick up his arse, but honestly? Hes grown to be literally my favorite character in the game. I saw his supports and seen the reasons hes like the way he is. Plus figuring out who he is (prior to church route), hes just awesome and i love himb. Ferdinand: comes off as a fop, but is really a good guy. Stupid hot post-skip too. Death Knight: I unlocked a certain paralogue that explains things regarding him i think hes a decent antagonist not the best by any means, but im ok with this dude. Grew to Loathe: Rhea: H o l y s h i t. I thought she looked cool at first and she comes off as really saintly. (lol) But wow what the hell is your problem, Rhea? Talk about abandonment issues. Her fundamentalist attitude really grossed me out but then, it got worse shes just a super bitch. Funny thing is, i like her role in the story and that she isnt this rosey Big Good tyoe but i dont like her lol Caspar: wasnt a fan of this kid's design omg his hair is just whyyyyy. But i was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt Nah. Dude is hella annoying and grating af. Cyril: *sprays water* NO. cant say ive ever been a fan of Sylvain or Ignatz, but they dont anger me at all i like watching people knock Sylvain down lol. Flayn haters, im judging you

Ive yet to do Blue Lions, but so far, Claude's route is my favorite. Edelgard's is hella fun but a little unsatisfying. There is one part of that route thats super satisfying to me but its spoilas. Church is a bit too similar to Claude's route but its not bad.

Absolutely. But the reason i think BE route was pushed commercially, was that it leads to the Church route which is rather Byleth-centric in its narrative. You are likely more interested in why your self insert is basically scooped up by the fucking pope of this world and treated like Christ. But Edelgard being a rather attractive lord with a no nonsense attitude being in front of all of that suited Nintendo Lets face it, folx are kinda tired of main protags that are hyper visible being dudes :v:
