  1. Thats dumb. Id never be able to take someone seriously if they went around judging people for what game they started playing. Im going to think people who use that unironically, are probably children or just really immature. Like who does that shit?
  2. Half decent. I can function without casual mode, but prefer to use casual mode. Ive been playing FE for well over a decade so theres that. But while i have the skill to enter the Salty Spitoon, i have more fu. At Weenie Hut Jr's.
  3. This is a huge mood. Finally getting the chance to actually play FE4 made me realize that this game has the FE plot ive been wanting and waiting for. That, and we need a remake of it, yesterday.
  4. I lucked out hard on this banner without whaling at all. I think i spent maybe around 40 orbs (at most) and ended up with the lot. Ended up with two Lenes (one +spd -hp, the other was +atk -def), Ishtar (+atk -def) and Ares (+spd -res). Not on the same wheel. The one with my free summon was nearly a full wheel and the first Lene came out of it. I was sniping and ended up with second Lene and Ishtar on the same (incomplete) wheel. Ares was a yolo solo snipe. Lmao i have all fe4 characters now. All. Of. Them.
  5. Ana, that is the eth. A letter still used in Icelandic today. It's pronounced like a "dth" sound. (Depending on usage and language) The upper case is similar to an upper case D with a dash in it. If you bothered to copypaste the letter and google it, you'd find this out. This letter was common in Old Norse. The tomes of this game are named literally after colors. Rauðr means red, blár is blue, gronn is green. ð is also found in Old English, but in Old Norse and Icelandic, it has specific rules in how its used. Ice Dragon is correct in their explanation of this. (Old Norse and Icelandic use a more dh sound for the ð. Given the game's Norse inspiration and themes, its good to use that pronunciation.) i freaking logged in to post this and will be cross if its dismissed, ill have you know. Its not nice to ignore or disregard people who provide you with sources that back up what they are saying. i also have no idea if anyone will drop. Maybe Chrom? FeMorgs has a full kit so....doubt itll be her. MaleMorgs has a unique weapon. (Or does he?) /shrug
  6. Yeah i was thinking about Seliph basically being Jon Snow. What would that make Julius then? Sigurd's actual death reminds me more of Rhaegar, while his motives are both like you said.
  7. I suppose. Maybe it's because i didnt see Alm as too good. I saw the two lords as two halves of a whole. And given what Celica knows and feels, her actions dont seem as ridiculous to me. Certainly not wise, but not out of realm of reason. Especially since she literally was raised to think Mila can fix anything, and shoulders everything herself. I think id be salty if her team mates didnt say nothin' /shrug Naesala is the freaking business and he'd totally sound like Tom Hiddleston.i totally voted for Naesala in this cyl in Heroes. Gimme dat Nae!
  8. Agree hes a paper bag More like Ned, actually. And it's precisely why i like him. A good dude who fucks up super royally and gets bbq'd for his troubles. Corrin is probably the worst in story. They just..i dont even know. Ive kinda just come to terms with their plot shittiness, that im numb to it. Chrom rustles my jimmies in the story. Mostly because of how he strives to emulate his insufferably incompetent sister who martyred herself for literally nothing. Well, i think its more accurate to say that Emmeryn Puts my panties in a knot, and Chrom venerates her. D: unit wise, ehhh...i had trouble keeping Roy alive during my ill fated fe6 run lol
  9. This segues into my unpopular opinion: You do not need an intelligent, 'good' reason to enjoy a character. If the reason you like a character is because they look cool to you, or whatever, that is enough of a reason to like them. And if you enjoy a villainous character, it does not mean you excuse their actions. Ive been seeing a lot of opinions of "people only like X cuz waifus" and other shaming tactics about the reasons people love or vote for characters. Its really none of anyone else's business that someone likes Camilla because she has huge tracts of Jötunheim and a butt that wont quit. Just as someone should be free of judgement because they like Takumi due to his having more depth than his siblings. Im...not sure why this opinion i hold about character enjoyment really seems unpopular ? Wat. Granted, ive been rather absent in terms of fandom, but Alm is a pretty cool dood who doesn't afraid of anything. And he's certainly flawed. I actually agreed with Celica during their row in terms of stance. Unpopular Opinion but, clamoring for flawed protags, and getting them, only to fling poo on them is really irritating. Like: Fandom: "Corn cant do wrong and that sucks. Sock me a protag that has real flaws and their actions have an effect on things. And team members call them out." Celica: *exists* Fandom: "Ugh why is she so unreasonable omg i hate her." yanno? Like, its fine if people dont like characters like Celica and stuff, but...wasnt she kind of what people wanted? /shrug
  10. I just hopes hes Arvis tier decent. Ive been wanting Lyon forever.
  11. I have 60 5* doods. Cant really be arsed to list all of them. But yes, Florina is one of them.
  12. Breh, Lyn's pretty popular. Not sure liking her is unpopular at all. Im not a fan of the voting gauntlet in Heroes. Its just meh.
  13. Charlotte has a shaky start. Its more than fair to find her a bit of a bear to get going. I have a logbook Charlotte that has Axefaire for runs. Plus Death Blow and a Great Club. (80% crit rate before promotion is bomb shit, my guy) Since i tend to pair her Xander, she gets favortism. I love her though. Oboro doesnt have what i would call gimmicks. The reason shes well loved, is because she feels like a solidly written Fire Emblem character in a cast full of tropes you'd find in harem or ecchi anime. Her voice is nice, theres more to her than just one thing, and shes an excellent unit. Theres a lot to like there. Hinata is wayyyy better than Hana, so i agree to some extent. Hes just slower, so people tend to ignore him. Personally, im a samurai!Kaze person cuz i just dont like the base samurai/swordies not named Ryoma too much. Tsubaki is passable. Yeah hes miles worse than Hinoka, but hes not the shittiest unit. Just quoting this for <3 It always brings a smile to my face to see any kind of Bartre praise.
  14. Cheers to all of this. A l l o f T h i s. But especially the bolded. I find Heroes to be an excellent game for what it is. Im not sure if thats an unpopular opinion, but i have seen people complain about it.
  15. A lot of times, yes. Mostly when i know how it might turn out. In grinding, almost always
  16. Oh i hear ya. Like even Birthright is serviceable. FE reuses themes in its narratives, like dragon gods, certain political squabbles, genocide, etc. So you kinda know what to expect. Honestly, i find Sacred Stones to have one of the most solid plots. Tellius has the best world building. But Awakening and Fates have rather mediocre to bad stories, but really memorable and fun characters, and some amazing gameplay.
  17. Yeah but that requires using Neph in PoR, which shes not great there either. She gets shafted with bad base weapon rank and competes with mounts in a game where mounts dominate. Its a bit unfortunate.
  18. I like everyone except Faye and Deen. Its just easier to put it that way, cuz i really do enjoy just about everyone but those two. I particularly like Luthier, Mathilda, Celica, Mae, Clive, and Sonya. "But why Clive?" Cuz my first run had him be really blessed and an actual asset to my team. Plus im fine with his character. I dont like Faye for reasons i already talked about on hese threads. Shes nasty, one note, and stuplidly passive aggressive. I think id be more indifferent to her had it not been for the shitty attitude she takes with Silque, and what she says to Alm after his row with Celica. Yikes. Deen is just boring edgelord. Even his design is meh. I got him once just so i could get him, and welp...getting Sonya forever now.
  19. Omg yes. Neph is B A D and actively harms my progress in that chapter cuz shes on the verge of dying all the time. I have to hurry to get Heather, then spend way too many turns making sure no one dies to the boss, since Brom cant double. I also enjoy Geoffrey's Charge.
  20. Most of you are basically playing the games the same way as each other. Not using prepromotes, hoarding stat boosters, benching the Jeigan, training the Est, etc is extremely common. So im gonna detail my styles that i know are uncommon I use the Jeigan. All. Game. Unless its Sothe. He sucks. The only games i actively put Swordmasters on my team, are FE8 (cuz Joshua is life), FE10, and FE13. I never train the cavs in FE7 anymore. Marcus and Isadora are just better. I rarely recruit Geitz in FE7 cuz that requires putting Dart on my team, a character im never using so Geitz ends up as exp for someone. I actually use Triangle Attack in FE7. It makes short work of Lloyd in CoD, Sonja, and the Morph bosses in the final chapter. With the Tellius games, i do some weird shit. Thats the rare duo in which i actually play for story, so i do shit and use people who are story relevant a lot of the time. The only thing i dont do, is bother fighting the BK in PoR due to the aggravating, luck based nature of it. So i just escape and pretend Ike smushed him anyway. But this leads me to support Ike with Soren, transfer that over to RD, get that special epilogue scene involving Soren, which requires STUPID amounts of hoop jumping to get. The amount of favortism Soren recieves in RD on my runs, is also something i consider abnormal. He is fed so many kills with Shove chains, plus given the following skills: Daunt, Celerity, Discipline (temporarily), his native Adept, and Flare. Plus maxing out his staff rank. I give Henry Axefaire because i do DF Henry. If im using Tharja, she goes thwomp route. Odin gets used in every Fates run thats not Birthright. So does Peri. Ophelia cannot have any other hair color than a shade of blue. This is due to her face resembling an irl friend of mine, and that friend has blue hair. Luckily for Ophelia, this leads to some great builds. Like Corn!Ophelia or Azura!Ophelia which isnt bad. I always use Rath in FE7. A L W A Y S. I favor mounts, so when reclassing happens, anyone who can get a mount, does. The above includes FE8 exploits. Examples: Gilliam, Lute, Gerik, etc, these guys all get horsies. Im not a huge wyvern fan unless its Tellius. I staunchly refuse to ever made Vanessa and Tana Wyvern Knights in FE8. I hate the lance lock and the way the sprites look. Bartre. That is all. I never pair my feMUs with Chrom.
  21. Really hate Battle Before Dawn in FE7. It can stupid if Jaffar decides to try to tank Swordreavers with his face and not heal himself. Plus the mad rush to get in there. Father And Son in FE8. I hate Berserk staves. D:
  22. Yeah. Personally, i find the fixation on story in this series by fandom to be a bit much, tbh. Like, i get people want a half decent narrative, but the real draw to the series are the characters and gameplay. Everything else feels like window dressing to me.
