  1. The one-use items can't bring you above max. Edit: clarification: the one-use items I have tried cannot be used if your character is too close to the cap (eg: it gives +2 and you have 29 magic on your sage). Furthermore, if, say, you are 4 away from the cap, use a temporary speed boost and then a speedwings, the temporary boost vanishes. Next edit: if you have every shard, give one to a person and kill that person, then you still get the sphere and the shards still vanish.
  2. If it's funds you're worried about, there are actual arenas too, which I assume will basically give you infinite cash, though I have yet to use them.
  3. 0.o wow. This is nuts. There's an arena in the menu with a save button next to it = very easy to reroll and boost stats. Add to this items that give stats beyond the cap, and I got a 34 magic, 27 speed sage by the end of chapter 12. And I haven't even forged anything yet. I have yet to play wifi, but if it works the same way as the last one did, it is going to be ridiculous even without hackers. the good side is that this means everyone else can legitimately get broken teams.
  4. hey, i added your shadow dragon fc. mine is 0560 2326 5296

  5. Of the people I've played with cards on, I've played many with the judgement card, umbra, Apotrope & gravity. I can't tell you what other cards are in play since cards are blindpicked, but I can assure you that dazzle is not 100% widespread. Err, I just said how strategy still exists with brave weapons... "less diversity" doesn't happen, as a matter of fact you get MORE diversity, since you are forced to use fog to survive, rather than just running and hoping your units don't die, which is what happens without braves, (since you can't kill, you're forced to stay in vision range, which kills most stealth strategies) dude, no, you don't get silver and mercurius, you get mercurius and a silver forged to look like mercurius. That's not two weapons, that's one. Gradivus will still see play in brave teams, as will falchion one for range the other for super-effectiveness, the other two would be obsleted even without braves, since silvers are better, falchion probably won't see much use either, thruthfully. when the """story""" mode has, what three lines of dialogue pre map, barely 30 chapters, and is so easy you can finish it in hours? This game isn't worth buying without the multiplayer. FE 7 had a support room. lol, no it is only "easy" to max one unit, not 5. Just stop proving you own ignorance. lol, make a max everything team, just do it. I want to watch you fail. Newsflash, you can't even get two 30 def paladins, let alone 5.
  6. lol, you're the guy who thought there was a +1 vision card. You have no idea what it takes to dominate gameplay. Take away braves and the thing that dominates gameplay will be ranged weapons, a team of mages +a paladin or ballista will kung pwn everything. Basically, braves are the only thing keeping melee combat viable in the first place. Oh, but I'm sure you know so much mre about this game than people who've actually played it.
  7. no, it's not just you, I don't like luck either, but that doesn't make what you said correct, preference has nothing to do with which card's better. err, that's the point, that stratergy will still exist even with braves... What exactly are you trying to get at here? I never said braves wouldn't be widespread they just wouldn't be the end-all, they replace nothing aside from silver weapons, and they are going to be widespread, but so are mages with forged thorons, ballisate with forged pachyderms, wo dao's with max crit, etc etc... Braves will be common, but not absolute. Err, how so, legendaries are the exact same as forged silvers. All you've done is changed the name, which you can do by forging at any time. (a forged silver sword is strictly better than Mercurius)... I'm guessing you really have no idea what forging does to the game. -unelss you're referring to their second abilities, but that doesn't get replaced by braves anyway, I'd still have gradivus on my team even if I had a forged brave lance. been there, done that. 3x ballistae +mage and scout = fun XD -not so practical, especially since you can't forge swarm, and can only max on ballistae's attack, but man it's fun XD but even so, I'm telling you, braves are not the end-all, especially at a range. they really only replace silvers and nothing else. sooo, yeah, I don't really see what you're trying to argue here...
  8. I should clarify, I meant the top, ie: number 1. I'm all for him being top tier just not the top unit
  9. I'd have to disagree, dazzle is only superior if you have less chance of getting a critical yourself. Think of it like this, if you've got the same odds as the other guy at getting a critical, then it fails to give you any advantage, and you use up your card slot, giving you a disadvantage. Dazzle requires to know the OTHER person's team to be effective, while umbra can be built around you OWN team, (ie: snipers), and since you only know your own team, umbra is quite a smart choice. (I personally use dazzle, but that's because my save has no killer weapons) Braves will be widespread, I'm quite certain of that, but that's because people can't think for themselves, they take the easy way out. Braves are the most cost-effective (but not always best) way, thus cheap= widespread. I am quite serious. I've played over 500 games and I can easily tell you that without brave weapons, everyone would be using silvers and/or legenaries (they are about the same, since you can't forge legendaries) (again, excluding killers) I mean, this game has only got 5 weapon groups, tomes being all in one, and no-one is going to use the inferior weapons, so that's 90% of the weapons gone right there. ie: all tomes are inferior to thoron, all ballistae are inferior to pachyderm, etc. edited for typos
  10. and you guys wouldn't believe me when I said merric wasn't top. XD
  11. some things I've noticed firstly, you gotta remember that fog makes you 100% invulnerable. whether it's a longbow from 3 spaces, a silver bow from two with umbra, or a ballista from 10 spaces, it makes no difference, the fact is you can't get attacked in their next turn. this is why longbows are so good. Add to the fact that it's impossible to ohko a good sniper, even with forged brave weapons, and you're taking 3 units to kill one. (scout, hit, hit) that means they've got 4 units left, and you're left with only two, assuming umbra, it's easy to miss their other units, meaning you can't kill them since 2units to 1 is usually needed for a kill, and scouting units can't attack. that leaves you 4-5 but with a tactical disadvantage, since they know pretty reliably where you are. secondly, what ""diversity"" is missing by everyone having braves (and killers) anyway? I mean, take away braves and everyone will use legendaries and silvers instead. I can say that for a fact since I've played for a long time without braves (since they only come out once a month, and I missed the first weekend playing single player). I mean really, its not like ridersbanes or armorslayers aren't useful because braves are around.
  12. this site does it all automatically for you, that helped me figure it all out
  13. Have people tried this before posting? I've done a team without braves, I used it for around a month until braves came out. Ballistae, forged javelins, swarm, killing weapons (braves with + crit dont work nearly as well), ridersbanes, longbows, etc, are all very useable, but people usually don't bother to do it. No, thit's no theory, I've actually done it. Brave weapons are vulnerable at a range, javelins/handaxes/tomes aren't. Ballistae, swarm and longbows can attack from fog, braves can't. Killer weapons can have 70+ critical, braves can't. Super-effective weapons calculate multipliers before deducting defence, braves don't. do I think everyone will end up using braves? Yes, I do, but that's because I believe people are too lazy/ignorant to think for themselves and realise that brave weapons aren't gods. Brave weapons are only gods if they're fighting someone incompetent.
  14. why the wifi hate? I love it, and as far as I can tell, everyone who's actually played it loves it too (playing hackers excluded) but as far as what not to do in this game, really, you can't go wrong, single player is very self-explanitory, or should I say, easy, and wifi is pretty exclusive right now since America doesn't have it, that'll be the big wifi test.
  15. pretty much what tamara said, swordmasters, snipers, horsemen and Berserkers with max speed can't get dual hit'd, so they are very useful, plus the former 3 quad-hit most units with braves, making them good. A paladin is a great tank if you can reach the defence cap, which is easier said than done. Mages for staves. I personally don't recommend ballistas, since they can be a liability as well as an asset, but really, after about 3 good units, you'll be struggling to find units with growths good enough to fill spots adequately (ie: once you've used up the pump-up items), and it really comes down to preferences.
