  1. WiP iT rEaL goOd New project, for MarkyJoe's hack. Lucy. and Working on Bram's returning to base frames :\
  2. lolol boney!:3 edit: but yeah, I'm not very artsy but I know how make things move. One thing that makes me prefer it more is that I don't need to worry about faces, since anims tend to have a very similar face for almost every sprite. I've always struggled more with faces than anything when I tried to draw. Also its more rewarding to me to see all my frames flow together along with sound. GBA FE graphics are also insanely over the top which makes it so fun for me. I am really allowed to think of anything I want because in this realm anything goes. My only limitation is my skill in spriting, which I hope to get better at! It definitely is just a different skill set. That said, I'm blown away by some portraiters (?) here. I am way jealous haha.
  3. I started doing stuff in May of this year. making mugs is hard :\ and I would much rather do animations :3
  4. would be funny to see a full kirby animation in fe haha
  5. ohh, yeah. Lol I'm working on some of her frames now. I'll keep that in mind thanks
  6. interesting idea to have the pirate wield swords. But if I were you I'd go back and give the pirate his torso back. Because those white lines seem out of place. The swords to me look a tad like a children's toy! try using some other swords' shading as a reference to give it a more scary look. As for the lancer dude, he's missing his outline on our left. So try referencing the black outlines on other sprites, same goes for the dude with the cane. try those improvements for now and we'll see how it looks
  7. Hey dood! yeah, not much feedback going on and I'm anxious to get better. Could you be more specific? maybe its the legs? or something like her looking unnatural? i can't really figure it out either lol that's the problem :\
  8. These are pretty neat man! The first one is pretty bad ass, but in my opinion, it doesn't really suit his portrait that well. The mug has thick armor but his sprite doesn't match it. Same kinda goes with the map sprite. But aside from that its not bad! Edit: i just looked back and noticed that he's slashing with his left arm instead of his right. Shouldn't it be his right arm wielding the sword? Also digging the Paladin too. Its pretty neat, but his map sprite is missing the shield. The Female Brigand is pretty creative. However, it seems that her mouth is too big when she's critting, its kind of taking over her face. Also it goes into the outline of her head. Maybe you should make her axe bigger in her standing frame? they seem to be different sizes from that and when she attacks. Hope I helped!
  9. Oh man, the spriting that goes on on this site is like amazing. That first guy you posted is awesome. I'm not too good at mugs and stuff but seeing this just makes me want to practice moar.

    cool battle sprites!!
  11. okay, i saved it as it default. now what's the right thing to do next? what things should i make sure of?
  12. nope lol. fe7 animation hahaha,
  13. Okay, I'll save it as a bmp this time. When I open and all the random colours show up after the initial 16, and then I paste over it, should I save it as a certain kind of bitmap? I won't touch this until you tell me what to do :P And yes that's EXACTLY what's happening. What should I do?
  14. @Brendor, I never even thought of checking Nightmare! (I think Arch talked about this, I guess I didn't follow it exactly, lol) So I looked, and the Graphics pointer changed to... So this is just comparison between my edited rom and a normal rom. Lyn's standing sprite's Graphics pointer has changed. The pointer I set it at was 1090080. So should I change this? Or should I check back in GBAGE? Well, I'll try the latter in case you can't answer me in time. But I really appreciate it! EDIT: I just tried to re-insert and the sprite didn't even show up this time. Lyn's was and the palette's were still all messed up. What I could do is record my screen and start from ground Zero and post it here so maybe that would be a better idea? @CT, That's what I did, I recolored my sprite to match all 16 colors in Lyn's in Usenti, then I just pasted over hers and saved. I think I saved it as a PNG, does the format matter? And I'm pretty sure the palette is ordered the exact same as when I saved it from GBA. Thanks though! Ghast
  15. Hello all, I've always been an pretty big fan of FE, the gba fe's in particular. I was very happy to stumble upon a handful of communities who enjoy FE as well! I always thought fe hacking was for rocket surgeons, but its something that I realized I could do. And I am sure, like many of you, have thought of immersing oneself into such epic stories like the ones in FE would be so awesome. So I couldn't wait to try my hand at hacking. However it is quite challenging, so I've joined several fansites to not only share my interest for FE but to get help on hacking too. My favourite hacking related activity is by far animating. I'm almost done my first custom and I'm excited to get some feedback once its ready to be judged! thanks for reading, Ghastly
  16. Hello all. I'm having really bad luck with trying to insert a map sprite. I've followed Blazer's tutorial, Arch's tutorial, asked in other fansites exactly how they described it but this keeps on happening. to The palettes are all messed up for anything that's not my sprite's standing frame or any other not blue units. all of the colors in my sprite are that of Lyn's. I've tried to figure it out but I just don't have enough knowledge in this kind of stuff. I've obviously overlooked something or didn't load something right. please help me on this, thank you. Ghast.
