Well, sadly, we won't get that at all when we get either Chrom or Lucina. Don't know why anyone has hopes for those characters to be highly unique, when it's extremely obvious they are just going to be dumped aside as clones. -
When it comes to Atlus, just remember that at this point any of the twenty companies can buy out Atlus. I do wish we could get a list on potential buyers so we can dissect what would happen. Just knowing SEGA is involved is not exactly enough.

Yes, Japan doesn't count. The Japanese series made by a Japanese company by Japanese staff does not account to Japan.

You'd be surprised by the amount of people that want Roy to return. Especially in Japan.

I will also disagree that they would all be exactly the same way, though at the same time making something very compelling is a bit of a challenge due to the general archetype of these characters causing a bit of limitations. Of course, some characters are easier to handle then others.

Well, I wouldn't say all of them would be like that. I mean you'd have to try really damn hard to turn Micaiah into a clone of Ike, or Ephraim into a clone of Marth.

Out of curiosity, how many people around here genuinely want Chrom or Lucina? Ignoring sells and recency BS, would people still gladly take either of those characters for the characters themselves?

Would a duo feature even be plausible for these next games? It would be a very tricky thing to implement from a technical standpoint, and of course there is always the risk of causing imbalance issues, whether from being too powerful or too impractical. -
