  1. Oh, yeah, I'm not even going to try arguing generals in speed runs - I've never made an attempt at one, so that may be part of why i still love the big shiny dastards :P And yeah, snipers are not great enemy-phase units on their own, but plant them behind a general, r on the edge of a two-range enemy, and they can go to town. Ironically, I've never played 3/12,5 or 6.
  2. Ha! Fair enough :P At least horses/pegasi are pretty common
  3. Generals - Damage? What damage? Snipers - I like bows... Kinshi Knights - The bird is cute... and I like bows... Any kind of Dark Mages, the Tellius/GBA variety, with "Dark Magic" as a weapon type. Hot damn, i love me some dark magic.
  4. Makes sense, but are there any games that have an over-abundance of open maps? I've only played the English ones, minus PoR. I still find them useful as the "draw them in" unit for slower or reinforcement-heavy maps, regardless of openness. On Snipers - surely the player can make the game player/enemy-phase based depending on their play style? Again, haven't played all of them (including 776), so there may be some extreme examples i haven't seen.
  5. Replying to the original: I prefer single RNG too - that just makes more sense that the % you see is the % you get. I freaking love Micaiah - I want more magic main characters. Shurikens are DEFINITELY OP - is that really an unpopular opinion? Especially combined with poison strike. My own addition: I haven't mingled with the community at large much, so this may not be as unpopular as i think, but from the few encounters i have had so far, apparently Snipers and Generals are thought of as poor units - they're my favourite physical classes.
  6. Oh, so Silas got it because the Partner Seal now gives him access to the Knight class. I get it now :) For example, if Selena and Niles got together, and both promoted to Bow Knight, they'd get each other's mercenary and outlaw skills because they now have access through the Partner Seal. And presumably there's a lot of potential for the children characters because of their parents' classes. Thanks again :D
  7. That's weird... so is this a rule for all parent characters? How specific is it (if Avatar was a mage, would it have given him +2 Magic? If he married Effie, would he also have gotten Natural Cover?)? This is his first outing since hitting S rank, so presumably that's why it happened now. thanks for the reply :)
  8. EDIT: It has been solved - Silas is married to Knight!Corrin, so the Partner Seal provides the Knight re-class option. This causes the game to give him Knight Skills, as he cannot go back to the Knight form, and has essentially "missed out" on the Knight skills. --- ORIGINAL POST: I'm on my first play through of Conquest, having already completed a single run of Birthright on the same game card. On "Prologue 5: Bold Approach", the chapter in which you recruit his child, Sophie, he got the kill on the final boss, hit level 8, then received "Natural Cover" as a new skill. I have no idea how this happened, but if anyone does know if there's something I'm missing, I'd love to know. I've probably been missing out on various other skills for my parent characters :P Other information, if it helps: > He is a Great Knight, of course promoted from a cavalier (i.e. no reclassing) > He is married to the Avatar (+Def, -Mag, Alt: Knight), and I completed Kana's chapter first > I played both Kana's and Spohie's chapters immediately after completing "Chapter 22: Sakura", which is when they hit S support > Two of the six villagers survived the chapter (those damn berserkers are a real pain :P ) > The three berserkers who spawn in the top-right corner, as well as the stationary general on the central island, were the only enemy units alive at the time of killing the boss This is something I don't remember ever happening during my Birthright run, so if anyone knows what happened here, that's be great, thanks :D Happy Conquesting :)
  9. Lord: Ephraim. lances made a very refreshing change from the usual swords. Cavalier: Makalov. I'm not entirely sure why, but he was just a fun guy. Archer: Gordin. Old favourite. He seemed like a really cool guy and gave off a kind of younger sibling vibe. Pegasus Knight: Caeda. None of the others really clicked with me. Myrmidon: Joshua. Pirate hat, prince of the sands. What's not to love? Fighter: Barst. The name alone is cool: Barst. Love it. Mage: Merric. I could never say anyone else in his place. Comes ready to use Excalibur, best friends with the lord and fancies the lord's sister. it all works. I'm cosplaying him this May. Wyvern Knight: Haar. Eyepatch. Just... eyepatch. Armoured Knight: Brom. Almost Draug, but the lovely farm bloke just steals my heart every time he's on screen. Soldier: Nephenee. No other option acceptable. Goes hand-in-hand with Brom too. Mercenary: GREGOR SMASH! Best accent in any game I've played and a sweetheart to boot. Badass sweetie is perfect. Priest: Brady. Just because he's so different to the other priests. His character also played perfect antithesis with his mother. Thief: Sothe. I never really use the thieves, but Sothe was forced quite a lot, so I got to know him better than the others and he's pretty cool. Shape shifter: Naesala. Excellent character, plot motives, look. Trainee: Ross. I use him in every game of Sacred Stones.
  10. The pirate idea sounds amazing. It opens up a lot of opportunities for new classes and we could have ship-land maps, with smaller ships taking a turn or two to go between them. The cannons you mentioned I assume would be a ballista replacement? also allows another world map and in general, a bigger evil to knockout.
  11. i've checked amazon and ebay, but can't find the right thing. I'll have a look at that last one though, thanks a lot :)
  12. Hi people of the internet. I'm pretty excited about this because i don't have any friends who play fire emblem (except one awakener) so this is a nice fun opportunity for me to have discussions on the games. Yay! As i promised in the title, i have a quick question: i want to find a good blue robe for a merric cosplay (FE1/2/11/12) and can never seem to type the right thing into google. I know this isn't the place to start a proper conversation on it, so i was wondering where on the forums i might place it for optimum viewing by people who might know. Thanks, and i look forward to all the discussions i'll be joining soon. :)
