  1. Kaze is my favourite for the men, he has consistently been an amazing unit in all of my lunatic playthroughs, and I love his calm demeanor. He does his Abel archetype proud! Nina ended up winning for the women. I would say Elise and Hinoka were close seconds, but I honestly just don't like as many of Fates females than the men. I enjoyed Nina's Robin Hood gimmick (I wish she had more supports about that), and I enjoyed how she was a foil to Niles, and was what he could have been without such a terrible childhood. I play both Corrins equally, but I voted Male because I kinda see that as more cannon. Lastly, Conquest by far, despite the story having some eh moments it was the one I got the most invested in, and the map gimmicks were always refreshing, if not difficult.
  2. Hey Pi, I have been following this patch courtesy of the LP by Mageknight404, and I think it is pretty great! There is one question I have, though. In regards to the growths of Sigurd and Cuan, would it be unrealistic to keep them with the current bases but give them very superior growths, akin to the likes of Wolf/Sedgar from FE11 (or of course to a lesser extent, if those are too high)? I am currently unsure of how far units will get in promotion before Gen 1 is over, and I almost feel like with the slow EXP gain the two have that this may balance them quite well with the others by the end of Gen 1. Of course, I understand that this could mess with inheritance growth formulas and make their offspring too strong, but at the same time their children were quite powerful anyway, and at least the two have pre-set pairings so you cannot spread around the amazing growths outside 3 characters who are meant to grow well. Just a suggestion, and I am sure you will find some sort of great balancing mechanic regardless!
  3. I am at least playing Conquest first, although I have a feeling Revelation will become my favorite gameplay-wise. As for IRL, I would choose Nohr, with conditions. I could never abandon the family that raised me, and the four Nohrian Royals seem like good people (I really question Camilla but eh.) I barely know the Hoshidans, and the person that I would want to know best there is no longer in the picture. Granted, I would never fully support Nohr's bloody actions, but i would instead search for a way to solve the crisis for Nohr behind the scenes to bring peace anyway I could; even if I had to overthrow Garon. On that note, I would actually consider being in Nohr a good way to try to take him out if I wanted to. Keep your enemies closer, right? I would never trust him again after that attempt on Corrin's life.
  4. Hmm, for story and aesthetic purposes I wanted to go Dark Blood (plus Kaze will be a Ninja, at least), but I am choosing Ninja as a sub-class anyway so I still have time to mull it over. Thanks! On another note, wouldn't a +Spd Dread Fighter be about as good as Elite Ninja? S rank shurikens don't exist on Conquest anyway, and the class bonuses aren't exactly game breaking. Plus axes, I guess. Just a thought though.
  5. If you have a lot of time, you could just beat several normal/phoenix files and have 5 characters each file learn the skills you want there, and buy them on the lunatic file. If the logbook works the way I believe it does, that is. As for must have skills, at least for postgame, a lot of people like Breaking Sky and Copycat Puppet for obvious reasons. Hope that helped!
  6. Thanks for that, Duke of Dozel! Glad to see most of my builds pay off or at least work. I never really considered pairing Leo with anyone since I do not plan to use Nyx, but Pairup fodder would be nice if I have extra deployment space. On another note, do you say +Str under the impression that Corrin will be a ninja often? As a Dark Prince, Corrin has a solid 65% growth, and I planned to give him procs like Luna so he'll be a Great Knight for at least some of promotion. The main reason he has Ninja is to give Felicia access to Kunaifaire and Puppets, and I only planned to use Corrin as a Puppeteer for a few levels to get him Puppets as well. Is +Str really that important in Nohr, or was that done to offset Ninja growths? I was under the impression Nohr had Speed issues, actually.
  7. One thing to note is that with this team, the only other low Skill units would be Charlotte and Flannel. Charlotte can go Hero for a while to help, and Beaststones have great Hit anyway. Due to this, I can just feed Felicia all of the Secret Books if that is what it takes to make her Hit work.
  8. Frankly, I forgot that Explosive Shurikens were obtainable in Nohr. By all means, Felicia will be abusing them. Breaking Sky was being considered on the off chance of having Felicia's Ice Tray, but Kunaifaire Exploding Shurikens are far more reliable than a proc from her low Skill. I will probably still go +Spd, as I only plan for Corrin to occupy Puppeteer for levels 11-15 of promotion to obtain the necessary skills. I have read that Nohr characters have some speed issues, especially late game, so it will come in handy. If Corrin truly needs more strength, he will likely get an A with Silas and swing by Great Knight anyway for Luna, so his strength shouldn't be a huge problem. Sorry, i should have elaborated better. Tomefaire would give Dark Blood Corrin a nice Mag boost, and Breaking Sky is a very reliable proc for him. Breaking Sky could occasionally proc from Maid Felicia with her Ice Tray, but as you said it is very unlikely. I was mulling over running Felicia through Exorcist for a while, but the Maid ability to debuff will inevitably be more useful. In the end, the question was more like, "Spellcaster for Corrin, or Ninja for Felicia?" I will likely choose Ninja, as the pros for Felicia far outweigh the pros for Corrin. If Corrin does want a higher activation proc than Dragon Fang, Luna or such will do just fine. Thanks! In regards to the units used and the pairings, are these workable on Hard? Or should I try to switch these up or drop units to stay ahead of the difficulty?
  9. With Fates coming out in a few weeks, I have decided to play Conquest on Hard for my first time through, to feel higher difficulty while still enjoying the story. With that in mind, I planned to use this list of characters, using around 15 to 16 units. The pairs are: MMU (+Spd, -Lck) (Dark Blood) (Spellcaster/Ninja sub, can't decide)/ Felicia (Maid) Odin (Sorcerer)/ Elise (Strategist) Silas (Great Knight)/ Selena (Bow Knight) Lazlo (Hero)/ Azura (Singer) Xander (Paladin)/ Charlotte (Berserker) Camilla (Wyvern Lord)/ Flannel (Garou) Kaze (Elite Ninja)/ Mozume (Holy Bowman) Leo (Dark Knight) Ike Amiibo (Vanguard, filler unit) The main thing to note is that while they will be recruited for EXP, I have no intention to use Children until Post-Game DLC leveling. This is an adult-only file on purpose, and pairs are done more for support conversations than class benefit, with inheritance being a moot point. One major issue I am having is whether to pick Ninja or Spellcaster for MU. Spellcaster gives Tomefaire and Breaking Sky which are great for both MU and Felicia, but Ninja gives Felicia access to Kunaifaire and Copycat Puppet, skills she could not normally obtain without marrying Kaze. Would this team be workable? Any feedback would be great!
  10. Just wanted to post that as of this afternoon I have completed my nogrind Lunatic + file. Thanks to all of the members for giving me advice on unit builds! I will be able to post my final units in a few days if anyone wants. Thanks again, everyone!
  11. I am currently entering Chapter 15 on my nogrind Luna+ file, and I just unlocked S Support for MMU and Lucina, so I will be recruiting Morgan next with my MU passing Armsthrift. However, I have some reclassing that will need to occur soon, and I have some questions regarding where I should send my units. From where she starts, Morgan will come with: Hp: 42 Str: 22 Mag: 17 Skll: 24 Spd: 24 Lck: 19 Def: 15 Res: 16 I need to make her a Dark Flier, so would it be better to reclass to Pegasus Knight or promote Grandmaster? She will be promoting/reclassing to Dark Flier at lvl 10 regardless, but going Peg will Bronzelock her, which will hurt her performance consideraby until she gets her C in tomes back upon promotion. Next up is Sumia!Lucina (passed Galeforce), who is a lvl 12 Paladin (10 Lord->10 Cav-> Paladin). Her stats are: Hp: 60 Str: 34 Mag: 8 Skll: 34 Spd: 34 Lck: 34 Def: 19 Res: 17 Lucina has three options available that I can see. First, there is Great Knight. The class itself is rather mediocre, but the skills it grants are great, and she would have access to wyrmslayer/hammer/beastkiller to back up MU, so that would be a boon. However, EXP will get tight at her high level so idk if she'll get far past Luna. In addition to this, the loss of speed may hurt her. Second, there is Great Lord, which would lessen her movement in exchange for possibly getting RK (again, tight EXP) and giving MU more Lck for Armsthrift. Finally, I could go Paladin again, but that honestly seems like a waste. Finally, I have my lvl 14 Valkyrie Lissa. She has been acting as a staffbot, so her stats are not super important. My question is, should I keep her a Valkyrie for the movement, go to Sage for possible Tomefaire and higher Mag, or maybe go Falcon Knight for flying staves? Sorry for the many questions, and I appreciate any advice you can give!
  12. I'm approaching Chapter 8 in my nogrind Luna+ file, and I recently obtained a Master Seal from a merchant. My number one candidate for this should be, of course, Sumia. I would be promoting her after her next level up, making her level 16. I have fed her the renown Energy Drop and Seraph Robe, but her stats are doing very well regardless. She has: Hp: 36 Str: 14 Mag: 8 Skll: 21 Spd: 21 Def: 8 Res: 13 Should I attempt to promote her early, or wait for 20? Miriel is lvl 9 and will likely be promoted with the next Seal in 8, allowing her to gain staves and staff grind to 15. MU is a 20!8 Mercenary, and he's doing so well promotion can wait until the seal in 11 (Gregor has dibs on the seal in 10).
  13. Ok sounds good, thank you Czar! Chapter 5 is causing some issues, although this is only due to the fact that I want Ricken and Maribelle to live without playing Paralogue 1. Is it possible to do this easily without the Rescue, or should I just go to Para 1 for the exp for Sumia and Miriel anyway? I was saving it for LucinaxMU support building but...
  14. I was undecided at the time, but I'll go Falco for the skills, access to staves, and the superior strength and speed. Henry!Inigo will be going with Cynthia, and so they will support quite fast. With that in mind, Warrior (Most likely) or Hero (not very sure) seem like safe bets, keeping in mind that Olivia will definitely pass Luck+4 as she will stay a Dancer, so no Galeforce. The only thing I don't like is that E in axes he has to deal with, but oh well. If i pair Lissa with anyone before post-game, it will probably be Frederick, who will pass down Luna/Discipline (I feel like Luna is better though). Any recommended class/build for Owain at first? Owain will probably be benched fast as he won't have a wife, but he could be filler with Frederick supporting him as needed. I just completed Ch. 3, and the only two units available to use my Second Seal are MMU (lvl 13) and Lissa (lvl 10). Would reclassing Lissa to Troubador be a good call? MU is +Mag, so he is doing quite well with his tomes; it is too early to send him elsewhere. And if Lissa is leveled by staff abuse enough, she can at least pass DSupp+ to Owain for some kind of unique inheritence. Any thoughts?
  15. Sorry if I did not establish this well, Sumia will most definitely be a Dark Flier at first to get Gforce to her kids on time. The only thing is, I planned to make this file go postgame (I will grind then), and so the lack of Gforce on the boys may hinder them. I was at the very least planning for a tanky Inigo, however, and so if at least one boy lacks Galeforce I won't be too upset, as they should have more productive skills for tanking hits. Surprisingly, Henry is a pretty good choice even for a tanky Hero Inigo, what with his high skill, Sol, Vantage, Lifetaker and Vengeance with passable defense mods; I cannot believe I didn't think of him before, what with his fast supports with Olivia being icing on the cake. Would the lack of Galeforce postgame cripple a tank Inigo at all? If not, I'll go with this. Henry can promote immediately to Sorcerer and pass Vengeance, and provide Mire or just straight magic support if he needs to. Or if I'm being funny Inigo could get Despoil and Luck +4 and hope for that extra money which probably....won't work. Not sure if I want to waste an offensive Owain without Galeforce too, so I will just decide on if I will pair Lissa later. Thank you!
