  1. There are swords in Part 3 that might be worth passing too, but then again this isn't SoV where I feel there's more incentive to pass things around than to keep stuff because equipment is uncommon. He's cutting the cheese.... with a bunch of magic arrows, but still. That's the good stuff for magic on Jedah. Oh I absolutely see that coming. (Imagine the scenes against Dolth)
  2. Shadows of Valbar would have been the 10/10 FE title. And fitting as all is under his shadow
  3. Haven't found any confirmation of this yet, but on the Wikia page it says it works on EP, but ignores the Javelin and Gradivoo and adds 15 to crit damage. Sounds like it could be wild in the right hands. Growths and game feel are about as you'd expect for pegasi with higher growths or bases showing up this far in the game. Falcoknight will be worth it, especially in Part 4. YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The true protag is here, game even warns you with the box art. It's ya Bowy! The Spd investment was worth it. He holds the weight of his stats on his high Str, but at least he'll hit hard once per turn. Unless the Angel ring blesses him hard. SoV nerfed the Angel Ring into the ground, that's sad. *sigh Any trades you're thinking about?
  4. You'd think that..... *Catria fucking dies again VALBO FINISHES You love to see it. Yeah, I'd recommend that too.
  5. Fair enough, I'd like to hear the translator's process on that myself. It's also the copy of the first Leather Shield Merc's map on Celica's side. Blake/the true Deen is scary too, if for different reasons. :P
  6. There's only one more map where it matters. I'll admit I use it, if only because I don't want to have to deal with green allies who can't be recruited until after the map. The Teehee run gave me all the evidence I needed that I am right in that decision. Keep forgetting that part, been years since I played Gaiden. Low res won't matter much for DF, the +10 it gives will do a lot for anyone in the class even him. Oh it looks it, but I still wanted to point out the bases of some unpromoted classes were something alright (Let us promote them into those classes IS you cowards) How often is machote used like that more recently? Because while I said when Gaiden came out, I can see how it's used when the patch was written as mattering too.
  7. I can buy it, but it's still possible what we're on about here could still have been them choosing to embellish without looking at SoV, the main reason I say that is because of the when this came out. I don't have the capacity to ask, so I'm going to grumble at the doubt that sits there being a nuisance. Not all bosses move. Like Kant, R. here, he doesn't. None of the cantors move, because fuck you (even if there are cantors not on healtiles, they're still behind who knows how many enemies). It's still a lot of sand in those maps. Least the desert fort will be possible to assault with fliers in Gaiden.
  8. Guess you weren't at the top of your game /s Considering they're hiding in a zombie-infested cave, maybe they're that stuck already. This is why Excalibur is what you use for this, the crits help. Slayder should have dropped the D, maybe he'd be OP then. I don't recall as much with Gaiden, but he is a coward in SoV. Warp also really helps with this, allowing you to push units forward faster, but grinding that out in Gaiden takes more effort than you're looking for. I do not understand the logic, there's never really an indication of magic being favoured with this. Well, bout that...... They couldn't put in "big, hurty lightning" Everyone else who'll have Mae's promoted class will. SoV changes so little from the base game in terms of stuff already there, that IS changing this is an admission this was a fuckup. Genny has double the Spd growth of Jenny, that's my assumption. G/Jenny having Physic is all good regardless. I suppose they cause a person swinging with a sword to hesitate to damage the graves out of respect and fear for the dead? The funny part in SoV Hard: Saber's base HP, Spd and Def leave him 1-rounded by this merc if the guy crits. I mean, you can retreat from the map and the green units leave, still being recruitable. Low Luck is probably the one area that undercuts him, and it's put him at risk for me plenty. Still, a DF not getting doubled by HM DFs is appreciated. Can you summarise for me what the intentions for that fanslation were? Kant, R. trolls again.png I can see Leo hitting his Bow Knight Skl base and the extra hit would be nice for him, while everyone might just end up seeing their HP boost lost in promotions, so Skl for Leo imo. While looking for class bases to answer this question, I found out Sister's bases are ridiculous. Saint doesn't compare.
  9. You do realise the sin was playing Gen 8 Pokemon right? What is it with Pokemon clowns and giving you stuff? I don't know that I'll treat mons I didn't have the chance to use as dupe encounters yet, it's still early days and there's plenty of chances I lose mons I already have though And I now have to figure out which routes I immediately throw as sacrifices. I may have done several Work Ups in fairness, the Dwebble wasn't able to actually hurt Frain. It's nice to have the option so early on. OOOOOFFF Can't even kill his dad smhmh You wouldn't consider it for a higher might tome? Fair enough, though -3 Mt is a bit ouch to me. Okay. You plan on Bow Knight, Sniper or Warrior if you'll get a ring with Axe proficiency back? And effective damage on Luin. I really want to emphasise it, as someone who suffered it. King Dieacinth if you will. "The light. It BURNS!" Well, he likes pain. If he's the one inflicting it so be it? The power of bullshit no jutsu at work. I mean, the narrative stretch for this may be bullshit, but it gives us Chapter 11 bankruptcy, I've seen worse BS. Good luck on that. It's going to be a few days before I can get back on this myself, take your time.
  10. Everyone brings up her being ready to roll and the cultured understand how easy the pickings are. This may be one of the few tutorials that doesn't drive some up the wall Remembers the one Boat map.... And doing this after makes some feel like they're dumb for going the cav again. I can figure the intent is to teach the player about point choking. That's close if not on the point. If I recall correctly Alm is involved in planning offences, so figurehead is probably a bit too little credit. If I'm recalling correctly, it's been a while and a long day too. I get considering Luthier, unless you figure out someone wouid benefit if they promote soon to get them afterwards. Yes. Sadly, true. Hunter's Volley is busted. All true, but he has Force on his side (I had him with the speed ring later on, guy shoved through for days)
  11. This game I swear..... Oh, that's actually neat. Give him all the Spd next time The Fates Dragonstone learned from it's prowess. Gray has the lower Str at the minute, I feel like whoever has lower Str in the moment is the right pick. 11 levels to being good. Clair is funny in that the one run where I feel she came out well in main game was my last one and I am betting she was Def blessed. Her Spd makes heavier weapons an option sure but I always feel like her Str isn't quite enough with the weapons at base to be helpful (SoV has forging to compensate), 8 Str never felt like it was all that good on her for me. Least Banish is better here and well help cement her niche as monsterslayer, especially for those Gargoyles.
  12. Now is not the time for me to tread towards trying it again, I should give it another chance. Just linking some memes for the hell of it. Or Valentia Island relative to Ireland. Calling Archanea Kerry is an odd one, with how much of it is inclines and coasts and is the North of the county supposed to be a wasteland? Valencia as a pronunciation was probably better come to think of it. Be a while with his base Spd and bow weight.
  13. I mean, I don't think I ever felt like I suffered from this (probably did trip over it in the past but I'd argue more of that was due to enemy placement), but I've only ever played SoV on a 3DS that had a left nub that was at least more sizable than the PSP's. Fuck me that's bad, little impressive how slow that is. I didn't even say if I said it was better. Maybe I'll say it now to be contrary. (Also, calling those chibi is underestimating the proportions of chibi imo) I'd have said "popcorn?", but I actually finished Gaiden. So I'll be remembering the experience. Thanks S. Kaga. No sarcasm. You'd fit 5 of these in the opening bit of Chapter 2 /s Never really clicked with AW either myself, so there's that.
  14. I'm not boomer enough for me to agree. Not that I'm saying Grima death peak or anything, but leagues was your first mistake. Your second was not saying this for Duma's death. Gaiden has to exist by that very rule. The lost levels counts because it caused Nintendo to make international SMB2 off of Doki Doki Panic, the real odd duck for Mario Marcia just kept being bad when I used her, then I performed full sunk cost fallacy with Jill because I had no fliers for ages otherwise. PoR was a slow game that wanted me to bench fliers. Which is hilarious. Why would you not hide that shit if you'd had it, Gharnef? I get that, but Minerva having so low Spd is strange to me. I'd say the scale looks fine in SoV, but you're right on it being a bit bland looking as it is. And of course map design is going to be one of this game's weak points. Also base bow not having flier effectiveness. I mean, from a gameplay perspective yes. There is a fair amount to throw at SoV, but unless you get into the party comp stuff that the extra RPG elements provide, Gaiden/SoV is going to slog for many. I'm more surprised that's a thing in SDatBoL. SILQUE Considering promotions bring units up to the new class bases, Cliff is your safest bet. But if his growths keep hitting, Robin could make the case since he's so close to Sage Cap and Excaliber would be fast and reliable.....
  15. Maps telling you to skip them, ah classic FE. I'm sorry what? *Checks the chest It gives a Devil Sword. That's the opposite of what should be there! Oh look, it's the thing, from the anime Ah, good old NES and making sections of sprites disappear as the boss falls. That or Marth is about to get cut to bits by Medeus learning from the Yellow Devil Oh, and it's done. Good on ya. He has done it. He became sail. Kain and Abel really are busted for this game, with being able to hit these numbers so easily. The power of hat apparently, for Wendell to be as blessed in Spd. That being said, this does seem like an FE where you could use a bunch of mages at once, if of course you're fine risking crits rates. Kinda weird to know she would naturally have 8 Spd without the stat booster, that's kinda unfortunate. 10/10, no notes. Never intend to finish, I put myself through Gaiden before SoV came out and when I tried SDatBoL I just found it too much to put myself through the whole of it. ..... Why didn't I think of that when the birds show up? I was panicking to get to him first and barely managed. Then again, I'd benched Marcia and Jill wasn't exactly impressing either That's why Gladius is in Gaiden! Dammit Kaga. Yeah, interesting to note that Falchion was intended as the recurring weapon. I wonder what that alternate timeline where Tyrfing is Falchion, alongside whatever other titles would have happened under Kaga would have been like. Ah yes, the classic "Old man with seven birds around him" that some players decide to kill anyway- Wait that's Bahamut. Lorenz having the plot info in his eyepatch and then proceeding to fake his death to return to his place in Asgard would be more fitting for Archanea than any other FE. Thank you. Gharnef shouting about seeing you in hell sounds about right from him, but I get having some fun with it.
  16. Let's be real, it's weird that all of these versions of this rival fight have a different pool of non-starter mons, right? RS has Wailmer/Numel/Shroomish, E has Wingull/Slugma/Lombre and ORAS has Slugma/Wailmer/Shroomish, a combination of the two. I figured, but who knows in this weird world of licensing? Another possibility: Drilbur is available because Relic Passage isn't closed at the south. 80% odds in Dust Clouds. Even if I get screwed with Onix Rock type helps with Flame Charge. And I have an eviolite for all of these options. My problem is which routes do I take chances on when several routes will have to be scrapped for me to account for deaths? I mentioned it before with Gordie about my personal use of legacy rules as a functional dupe clause in most cases and ignoring it there, but it'd apply to Sandshrew, which does reduce the risk of getting that in the Resort/Castle if I were to do so, but it'd be a little against the spirit of this run. And none of this mentions the possibility of waiting on Relic Castle for Volcarona or Route 4 for Braviary.
  17. Funny that this wall funnels the enemies, forcing one path for everyone. Unless you warpskip It forced a use despite not being able to fix it. Thanks S. Kaga., I agree with the rewind. Minerva: Kin-Kingslayer The real Star Lord has arrived. Est gets a Wyvern whose rider just deceased. I'd assume if only is not intended here. I'm curious about the not-meme quote. The classic trope. Weird that the alters to use Aum are based in Dohlr Doluna Durhua Niche usecase, but potentially 80% attack neutralisation sounds like a mad stat. They probably should have, DFs being ninja reads weird with the setting it's in This is early FE to begin with on effectiveness, though Excailber did get Flying effectiveness late on. Sagittae being light could explain why it doesn't have flying effectiveness and the weird shit in 3H, so Excalibur would be my choice.
  18. @Newtype06 Oh jeez, two of my next four captures, I really have to plan upcoming routes now. I guess I should get over Burgh then. TL;DR: Couple of scares for Drauis, but no incidents beyond that. Checkpoint reached. Little worried about the next few routes, I think I might ask about what routes I should skip.
  19. I wanted to use him for the Teehee run, then the pegasi were lost because Catria was suicidal and Genny was too far away to heal her. I'd figured it'd probably be preferable to have them separate from units, but I realise the execution would require making them a separate type of thing altogether that could be a destructible object which could be interacted with and move after someone takes the reins while also being able to transport and potentially fire back. And this is how we'd get callbacks to "Hehe, eat rock" Truly the most close of formations. SoV calling the armour overclass Spartan and giving it a skill called Phalanx that neutralised damage from enemies (And increased chances with adjacent allies), but not making it look the part is just IS top to bottom. Aura is pretty much after promotion, so it'll be late for sure unless you grind it out. That being said, the lower levels for Thunder and Excaliber make him easier to use than in SoV (Says the guy who still uses Mage Kliff in SoV), while Arrow has power to make up for how slow it is. Didn't really say anything on Alm's side huh? Alright, Merc Grey because otherwise I know nobody will say it. Force also did well for me in Gaiden (Admittedly Speed Ring helped) even before I kept getting real Forsyths to be reckoned with. If I wanted to be horrible I'd ban Zeke and Tatiana
  20. Couldn't tell you, still neat spread- Peak performance I am chuffed by how he took a look at 10% and said he could proc it over and over. Gnip this map: What a Chadarros. Enemy armours are going to get flattened by this man. Forsyth got competition! I think it'd be a bit unfair after having insisted on Deen over Sonya.
  21. I feel like Camus is Camus'ing it up and claiming the credit to have Marth fight him. Did he know he'd die for sure? True Sage Atlas. I mean, we have the war wagons from the Hussites, though those are early 1400s (early Renaissance FE can't come soon enough if you ask me), while examples existed in China centuries before and Korea (Though the Hwacha was ahistorically made to be more mobile (And use arrows instead of rockets) in AoE2). So the concept could be brought in. My question is would they treat them as just individual units or would there be units inside who could exit, defend it if someone tried to walk in, etc. Camus once again choosing death. RIP Lorenz? Oh.
  22. Hold on, this is some lore that is not used elsewhere is it? How did this develop? Did they face each other during the backstory war? Triangle Attack missing, how miserable. The enemy has figured out how the triangle doesn't have 180 degrees in total for it's angles. And so the rivalry never got to develop, as Marth just demolished his would-be foe. Generals in this game are swordlocked. Yes, Kaga hates us. I like the stats he's got in fairness. Betrayal sucks, but so does dying. All the plot secrets are behind his eyepatch, this is why Kaga set him to explode.
  23. PWryfection. I'll understand if you don't want to use her, a lack of options is unfortunate.
  24. Completely fair. So this port was with the remaster? They do have the tendancy to bring as much as they can together with these old FPS rereleases.
  25. Cashmere, what a fun translation So Mercurius is a Rapier in SDatBoL? Interesting to note, that it was intended to be pushed as a weapon Marth was trained in that nobody else he recruited was? Catria dev: HE SAILS
