  1. Hello everyone. In order to display all of my sprites at the beginning, I'm editing this post. I apologize if I accidently remove context for future posts. As a relative spriting beginner, especially Fire Emblem sprites, feedback is very gretaly appreciated. Male Blade Lord Legionnaire Centurion Centurion alternative: Gladiator To give some context, I'm making some custom sprites for this monstrosity, with the goal of them being more unique and hopefully iconic.
  2. Edited this one a bit. Hope she looks better. Two New Sprites of mine. (Personal on the left, gift for my brother on the right.) one of my first animations ever. I'm pretty proud of it. (Will soon be spoiler tagged, just gotta figure out how to do it)
  3. I'm looking to hire a battle sprite artist to create the final boss animation for my mod, The Road to Ruin. I don't update often because I prefer to be low key. However, with development wrapping up, I've hit the point where I need an animation done (I'm no good at battle sprites, otherwise I'd do it myself). To keep spoilers to a minimum, I'll describe what I need through PMs with whoever I decide to hire. Don't worry, it's not some giant dragon or monster that's a massive undertaking to create. You also don't need to worry about scripting the animation either. I can handle that part. As far as compensation, there's 2 options: 1) Cold, hard cash delivered through PayPal (we'll discuss rates in private). 2) The barter system. I consider myself one of the more knowledgeable members of the GBAFE modding community. I also do maps. If you have a project that needs help in development (or want a tutor so you can learn for yourself), I'll put in whatever time is comparable to the time put into the animation. Since I'm offering money/my skills as compensation, you'll need to have some solid spriting chops. If you're interested in this project, send me some samples of past work and we'll talk.
  4. So someone challenged me to make a roman soldier in FE style and now that i'm working on it i think it would be cool to create a smallish hack, maybe 10 chapters. with Roman and Greek styled unit. Any Ideas? Here is my current wip if the soldier (I still need to work on shading and colors): Edit - Here is a sheet and animation for the Legionary: And here are some possible kingdom names for the hack:
  5. I've started making simple edits to battle sprites, and I've started with a simple edit of the Necromancer spell cast animation. This is what I have so far. I'm not much of an animator, so I'd like to test out what I have so see if I've made an error somewhere. Does anyone know of a program that can let me preview the animation? I tried using Piskel, but I'm working off a sheet I downloaded from FEplanet, and the frames are not parallel to each other. I'd rather not move the frames around individually and risk mucking up the sheet somehow.

  14. Does FE8 still have framework in place for certain characters to use alternate/personal sprites in battle? In FE7, characters like Lucius, Guy, Legault, and Lloyd all got different, personalized sprites in battle, but FE7 is the only GBAFE game that does this. I was wondering if the framework for this still exists in FE8's ROM, or if it would require ASM hacking to get it working.

  16. Hi everyone! I just very recently (about a month ago) got into sprite making and animation, and I'd love some feedback on my latest work. Introducing the Fencer class-a trainee version of the myrmidon class! As such, things like the characters sword length (don't take this the wrong way) and height is meant to be smaller than his promoted class. And now introducing another class named the Trueblade class. Fans of Radiant Dawn might recognise this as the promoted version of the sword master class! [spoiler=The Fencer class] Normal attack Critical Attack Magic sword attack Dodge no weapon-1 Dodge weapon-1 Dodge no weapon-2 Dodge weapon-2 This is the latest animation I've made [spoiler=Trueblade class] Normal attack Critical attack Skill:Nova-strick 10 times at normal damage! Magic sword Weapon dodge No weapon dodge Yeeeaaaaahhhh this one isn't all that great (though believe it or not it took well over a week to fully complete). And I (currently) don't feel like going back to fix it. [spoiler=White Druid class] Normal Attack Critical attack Skill Dodge Staff Staff dodge Despite the shading (which I really struggle with), this is only the first animation I made. [spoiler=Murderer class] Normal attack Critical attack Magic attack Dodge weapon Dodge no weapon Whilst this one isn't exactly perfect (especially the shading) I still like it :P [spoiler=Hitman battle sprites] Normal attack Critical Magic sword Dodge weapon Dodge no weapon [spoiler=trueblade map sprites] passive active walking down walking up walking left [spoiler=Map Sprites-White Druid] Passive Cursor placed over Walking down Walking up Walking left/right [spoiler=Murderer map spites] Passive Active Walking down Walking left Walking up While this one isn't too horrible I HAAAATTTTEEEE the 'Walking left' on...the only reason I haven't changed it is because I literally can't think of a better animation to use for it. [spoiler=Robber map sprites] Passive Active Walking down Walking left Walking up [spoiler=Other] I hope you guys like these! These took a pretty long time to make so I hope they turned out well!
