  1. I pre-ordered the special edition of Fates last week. Ever since this game was released in Japan, I have been trying to determine optimal pairings. However, for my first few files, I have no interest at all in 2nd generation units (apart from the extra chapters), yet almost every topic I have found ends up talking about the 2nd gen units. Ignoring the kids and focusing only on the two units (guard stance stat boosts, how quickly they support, etc.), what are the best pairings in Hoshido/Nohr? The pairings I have already determined are the following: Both: Male Corrin x Azura Hoshido: Silas x Hinoka Nohr: Harold x Effie (not entirely sure about this pairing)
  2. **[uPDATE AS OF 3/6/16: Added max stat caps based on classes, and weighted growth rates!!]** Hello! This is my first time posting in SerenesForest, so I'm new to this posting thing (so I hope this is okay), but I've made a spreadsheet that can help you organize, as the title says, Marriage and Buddy Seal (partners) for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 characters in Fire Emblem if/Fates (even though it might be a little too late since it's already coming out in less than two weeks, haha). I tried doing some visual stuff to make the spreadsheet easier to read/make the information easier to understand at a glance, but since I'm not very much on the coding/programming/formula-writing/etc. side, my formulas are a little clumsy/ugly/really bulky/slow, but I promise you that they should work. Before using it, I recommend that you make a copy of it for your own personal use so that--on the off-chance more than one person uses this--your pairings won't get messed up. If there are any mistakes/errors/problems/etc., please tell me, and I will fix them as soon as possible. If you have any suggestions/comments/etc., I would also be glad to address them. Thank you very much for your time, and I hope this spreadsheet helps you, even if it's just a little. **Note: This spreadsheet works for ALL paths.** Version using the Japanese names (in English): Here Revelations version using the localized American names: Here Localized Hoshido-only version: Here Localized Nohr-only version: Here What you can do with it: - Customize Kamui/Corrin based on the asset/flaw/secondary class you choose. - View overall stat bonuses for children based on the marriage pairings of Gen 1 characters. - View marriage/buddy pairings and class inheritances for the Gen 1 characters. - Organize your class/skill inheritances for Gen 2 characters. - View marriage/buddy pairings and class inheritance for the Gen 2 characters. - View growth rates for Gen 2 characters based on marriage pairings of Gen 1 characters. - View stat caps based on classes for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 characters. - View weighted growth rates for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 characters.
  3. So I'm new to the Serene Forest forums (this is even my first post), but I'm not new to either Fire Emblem or Serene Forest. I joined to see if I could get some optimization help/suggestions considering I recently got all the awakening DLC (meaning I can grind exp/gold for this run). I made a google doc showing my setup that I plan to use. I went through the hassle to make it neat incase anyone wants to use it for reference. I need help deciding whom the children should marry. My Setup: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1i_8mRRwq0mN8WWUo6HGLJeIqO8QOfYzm2va5sfdLL9I/edit?usp=sharing [ In case it wasn't apparent in the doc, it's a M!MU run with +Skill,-Defense. ] Skillset suggestions? Pairing suggestions? Class suggestions? General feedback? --- Anything is appreciated.
  4. So, I heard something about how, in all available routes, as a male avatar you can not marry certain women or else you'll leave one of the men out? Can someone explain this? 'Cuz it seems like a silly oversight, and, if true, is something that I hope is given a patch to fix.
  5. So in my current playthrough, I am trying to determine who my Robin should marry to that will give him Morgan and an additional child (I always went with waifus that didn't give second children cause I liked them better). But I haven't really decided on who. It's less about which waifu I like and just who I think it would be fun to have Robin as father. I am not trying to min-max or something. It could be for any reason. Maybe I could make the perfect Gerome everyone talks about. Maybe I can pass down tactician to Laurent cause he is an aspiring tactician. Maybe I should go for Lissa because Owain and Morgan makes the perfect scatterbrained sibing duo. So yeah, who should I go for?
  6. Introduction: I purchased a 3DS and awakening a couple of weeks ago and decided I would like to start a save file using pairings that made the most sense to me based on the support conversations between characters. I don't mean which characters seem to have the best "romance" but which characters are related due to coincidences in their support conversations. I'm sure most of you have heard of pairing characters such as Lissa and Lon'Qu based on the fact that Lon'Qu shields arrows for both Lissa and Owain. Using evidence like this I wanted to start a topic where people who are interested could help others in finding these kind of relations between characters. The goal is to conduct a positive and helpful conversation between members and to eventually pair every child bearing lady with a husband that makes sense for her and her child. For example I'll be starting out with a pairing I just discovered this morning. Evidence for Chrom x Oliva: Obviously Chrom and Sumia are heavily pushed by the game as a couple, but their supports are generic, and Cynthia doesn't seem to have any dialogue which would push her as being Chrom's daughter. As I was figuring out who to pair with who I was having trouble with Olivia. I read through the majority of her conversations and well as Inigo's conversations looking for a coincidence or something I could use that pairs him with one father. I found a couple of interesting things: The first thing I found is in Inigo and his Father's C-Rank support conversation, regardless of who that may be, Inigo's father says "Lucina's so driven and serious... It's strange you don't have any of that purpose." I found it odd that any of Inigo's parents bar Chrom and The Avatar (MU) would compare Inigo to Lucina, because for the exception of the two listed above any other potential father wouldn't know Lucina well enough to compare her to Inigo. There are several reasons why Chrom makes more sense as Inigo's father than The Avatar (MU). It wouldn't make sense for The Avatar (MU) to have two children because it creates a "plot hole", which I'll detail later. In addition it makes more sense for Chrom to compare the two because many newer or inexperienced parents, like Chrom, compare their children. This makes sense considering Chrom has just become a father to two children. Further relating Chrom and Inigo is in Olivia's B-Rank support conversation with Inigo and Olivia's S-Rank support conversation with Chrom: Doesn't that seem like a weird and seemingly random thing for her to do? I did some digging and the only other conversation to include barrels is Olivia's S-Rank support conversation with Chrom. It's not really evidence but it's a funny coincidence none the less. Evidence for Lissa x Lon'Qu: I'm sure most of you have heard of the famous Lissa and Lon'Qu pairings. If you haven't heard why these two make sense paired together, basically it is based on the fact that in Lon'Qu and Lissa's A-Rank support conversation Lon'Qu protects Lissa from an assassination attempt by blocking an arrow for her. In Lon'Qu and Owain's B-Rank support conversation Lon'Qu protects Owain by blocking an arrow for him as well. Owain also says that that's how Lon'Qu died in his timeline. Lon'Qu fathering Owain would also make perfect sense as to why Owain starts as a myrmidon and is skilled in swordplay. Evidence for Tharja x Gaius: I thought finding a pair for Tharja was going to be difficult because of her Avatar obsession but I actually found this one by accident while reading some of Noire's supports with her potential fathers. It's mentioned that Noire loves sweets in three different conversations. The Avatar and Noire's A-Rank support conversation: Owain and Noire's C-Rank support conversation: and Yarne and Noire's B-Rank support conversation: Why does Noire like sweets? Her father is Gaius of course! As an added bonus Tharja only mentions the Avatar once in Tharja and Gaius's C-Rank support conversation when she asks him to swipe a strand of the Avatar's hair. After Gaius declines, Tharja shifts her attention to trying to curse Gaius instead. In Gaius and Noire's A-Rank support conversation Gaius steals Tharja's tools, which would be easy for Gaius to do considering he's a thief. Pairings so far: (Work in Progress) Chrom x Olivia - Lucina + Inigo Lissa x Lon'Qu - Owain Tharja x Gaius - Noire In Closing (To Be Continued...) I will be adding more later and I can't wait to see what others can find. Together we may be able to piece together the puzzle that is Fire Emblem Awakening. Feel free to add to or critique my pairings and it's encouraged to come up with your own. Disclaimer: This topic is purely for fun for members like myself who like to find little bits and pieces of hinting from Intelligent Systems. These pairings are in no way implied, considered, or stated to be "canon pairings" or "optimal pairings." Again these pairings are only for fun!
  7. I'm having trouble picking out fathers for these three units. For Brady I was going to give him either Libra or Henry for the dark Mage class, but then Gregor passes down armsthrift and makes him a great support unit but Lon'qu gives him great speed mods which, besides strength, is all you need in apotheosis. Then Gerome he has potential to be one of the physically strongest units in your team, so I though either Frederick or Henry but than again kellam and Gregor seem alright. And worst of all Laurent, Ricken is taken and Henry's magic mods are very good but not as goods as rickens and I feel like I'm missing out. Could I get some suggestions on some of the better fathers for these three. (Stahl, Ricken, Donnel, Chrom and MMU are taken btw).
  8. Does her second child get the ability to transform into the deer manakete thing? For example if she marries Leon, both kanna and foleo get the dark prince class and can transform via dragonstone? or is it only kanna that inherits it?
  9. I'm doing a no DLC playthrough (reeking boxes and skirmishes allowed.) and I've gotten around to recruiting the children. They have decent stats and growths and there class options offer some very helpful skills. The only problem is that their paralouges are hard as hell. My main team mostly consists of level 1-8 promoted units. I've hadn't had any trouble with Morgan's or owain's but the others are a different story. There are sages, sorcerers, assassins and berserkers with ranged axes meaning my units aren't very safe and considering res growths aren't usually very high and assassins are very accurate my units die very quickly. The ones I'm having the most trouble with are inigo's, nah's, severa's and gerome's. Are there any tips anybody could give me to survive these, I want to get the children as early as possible so that there useful.
  10. What hair colors do the mothers pass down to their children? I'm specifically looking for info on Pieri and Rinkah (is that her headress or hair? what?), but confirmations on all of them (especially the 2-tone ones like Kagerou and Hinoka) would be nice.
  11. So, what I wanna know is the best parents for each children, EXCLUDING MU, b/c he/she is the best parent. Here are my thoughts: MUxChrom Sully/Donnel Cordelia/Lon'qu That's it. Help.
  12. I'm almost through the main story for my 2nd Lunatic playthrough and am looking for a good father for Noire for postgame/DLC. Because I am undecided on whether I should make her a sniper/bow knight or a sorceror, I'd like input on who the best father is for either role. So far, the fathers that have been taken are: Donnel Gregor Vaike Stahl Frederick Henry (not married; planning to pair w/ Cherche)
  13. Dai

    Children

So, let's say for the sake of argument that this game includes children some time down the road. Now, would you want this to be a feature? Personally, I wouldn't mind so long as there is a justified time skip in the game. Say, at least two dozen years for it. It'd be kind of neat to be honest, having a second game do that, but this time, without having, you know. EVERYONE DIE (or whatever goes on in Geneology). Heck, it'd give whatever conflict is going on more scope and realism if it lasted more than just, you know. A few in-game months or so.
  14. I would love to know the opinions you guys have of my families that I have on Fire Emblem: Awakening. Both romance and tactical wise. Please no spoilers for anything after chapter 13 D: MyUnit is called a female called Sabine. What is your unit called? Chrom x Sumia = Lucina + Brady Chrom x Sumia = Cynthia + Stahl x Sully = Kjelle + Owain Gaius x Cordelia = Severa + Donnel x Nowi = Nah + Libra x Tharja = Noire + Vaike x Lissa = Owain + Kjelle Ricken x Maribelle = Brady + Lucina Gregor x Olivia = Inigo + Frederick x Sabine = Morgan + Virion x Cherche = Gerome + Lon’qu x Miriel = Laurent + Kellam x Panne = Yarne + (Note: I've only got Owain, Brady, Inigo, Morgan, for boys and Lucina and Kjelle for girls so far children wise. Therefore their isn't many children pairings yet.) :) Thanks
  15. Okay so these are the pairings for a friend , also magic users are preferred Lon'qu (vantage) X Cordelia (galeforce) Olivia (galeforce) X Virion (life taker) Cherche (strength +2) X Fredrick (Luna) Lissa (miracle) X Libra ( Renewal) Panne (sword breaker) X Gregor (Sword fair) Sully (Luna) X Vaike (Sol) Maribelle (dual supports) X Herny (Vengeance) Miriel (tomefare ) X Ricken (life taker) Nowi (Strength +2 ) X Kellam (Luna) Now I need help on these Tharja (Vengeance) X ?????? Sumia ( galeforce ) X ??????? On the avatar I thinking either Noire or Severa for a Mage user Also I might have forgotten a few so please mention if i did Also I kinda guided myself on my pairing ,even thought I used physical units more then anything else Any thoughts on how to improve?
  16. I'm new to the Fire Emblem series. Awakening is the very first game that I have played and it has become my favorite game that I have played on any system. I have been struggling very much lately with my Lunatic mode save file. I have tried looking online for guides for optimal parent pairings for the top children. I have not had much luck in finding anything to help me out. I am trying to find Chrom a wife since the next chapter is the chapter where he is married automatically afterwards. I was thinking Sumia because she really just seems like a power house. I'm not sure though if that is wasting Chrom's fantastic skills or not. I've also seen a lot of places that Olivia is a great choice, but for a defensive Lucina. There is just so much information that I am overwhelmed and undecided on any pairings. I'd really appreciate help on this and some guidance for optimal pairings.
  17. My first attempt at a playlog was a failure, so this time I will try something more noob-friendly. I got the inspiration from CateTheHuman's post in this thread http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=39958, but my rules are slightly different. Rules - Lunatic/Classic (I will reset for usable level-ups early on, because I'm not good enough to beat Lunatic with an Avatar who has 10 Defense at Lv 10. - No DLC or Wireless Menu - No Event Tiles, Anna Shops, Barracks, or Skirmishes -No Nosferatu - After Chapter 13, first generation units must be retired. Like in the original, people like Anna and Tiki will be allowed. Anna can't get any experience until Chapter 13 is over. Since Chrom is required, he can ride on Cordelia's back to stay out of enemy range. Tell me if I missed anything. I fully intend to save Paralogues to train Lucina so she can have a fighting chance once I get her. I'm going on vacation, so I might be a little slow. Pairings (suggested by Czar_Yoshi): Chrom x Olivia MaMU x Nowi Vaike x Cordelia Gregor x Miriel Donnel x Sully Class paths Premonition Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
  18. Hey all, I was about to make a post within the pairing thread, until I read the OP. You see, my decision making for marriages in Fire Emblem: Awakening breaks down like this: 50% match-making 20% hair colour 20% skills 10% final class pairings 0% stats and growth rates (since I'm yet to understand them) The match-making part is very important to me from a storytelling perspective. I like pairings which feel like they make the most sense. While optimisation comes second best. So hopefully I don't offend the rules making this thread. Here's what I've settled upon so far, for absolute certain. Virion + Olivia = Inago [spoiler=reasoning]I've heard countless times how rubbish Virion is hehe, but I think he's got great character, so I want to use him. When I actually came across Inago during my first ever play-through of the game, I had no doubt that Inago was Virion's child! I was shocked when I discovered the delightful dark mage Henry and Olivia could spawn such a man of flowers. It was SO jarring for me. So next time, I have to put Virion and Olivia together. Who says his affections for Sully have to be successful anyway? In my narrative, I'll go with her being repulsed by him. This works out well for me anyway, because I like to put Virion on horseback with a bow, with Inago in support to finish the enemy off with a sword. Both in the Bow Knight class. Inago's just a little reluctant to follow his father hehe. For this pairing I'm not so bothered about hair. Though the glorious white hair inherited by Henry will be dearly missed. Frederick + Cherche = Gerome [spoiler=reasoning]Initially during my first playthrough I was kind of disappointed with my Frederick and Cherche pairing when I met Gerome. Frederick was a tough individual to pair for me. He was so duty bound and honourable. The support between him and Cherche felt like I finally found a realistic pair. Both of them dutiful and set on improvement and helping others. It was perfect. Until The Dark Knight Gerome came along. How could he be so stoic and cynical from such parents? It didn't make ANY sense. That is until I learnt how Gerome never knew his parents. His account of them going off to distant lands to help others and not coming back just completed the picture and provided a backstory for his bitterness. So my disappoint naturally subsided. I really prefer Gerome with dark hair too. Light hair, especially pink, looks dreadful in my eyes. He's just a dark character hehe. I'm going to keep Fred as a Great Knight, while letting Cherche and Gerome become Wyvern Lords. But they don't all need to have flying mounts, so that's alright. Henry + Lissa = Owain [spoiler=reasoning]Down sword hand! Owain's quirky personality had to be picked up from somewhere. I like to think Lissa was partially responsible, but not all by herself. The father has to be off his rocker as well haha. I prefer Owain to have light/blonde hair, so that narrows down the contenders a little. In my first play-through I paired Libra with Lissa. But the support conversations for Owain and his father were a little dull. Libra didn't really feel like the most appropriate father for Owain. Another choice would be Vaike. But who would Owain most likely inherit a screwball personality from? Well, it's the master of crows, Henry! I could imagine that family, Henry, Lissa and Owain living and being together, so that works for me. I intend to finish Henry with the Dark Knight class. He might not be able to deal dark magic, but he turns out to be quite good natured during the narrative. And my Henry was a real force of reckoning with his Bolaganoe and Valflame anyway. Meanwhile Lissa will be a Valkyrie. So they can fight the enemy on horseback together for me. Kellam + Sully = Kjelle [spoiler=reasoning]I have to be honest, I don't really like Sully. There's something about her personality. I don't really know what it is. Maybe the tryhard nature? Funnily enough, I actually missed recruiting Kellam on my first play-through and actually forgot about him quickly after the Longfort haha. But Kellam and Sully are both Shepherds, so it would feel reasonable for them to become close. Kellam is a Knight, same as Kjelle. I have a feeling that she followed in her parents footsteps to get there. I'll admit, I pick and choose when to follow the artwork for the children and when not to. My original pairing for Sully was with Virion to see what would happen. But to be frank, I really didn't like Virion's hair on Kjelle. While Kjelle's artwork has black hair. So using Kellam ticks the criteria for good hair hehe. Kjelle felt like quite a dull character. So Kellam, an outright blank character, would make for a suitable father. It also saves using a better character on Sully hehe. Together Kellam and Kjelle can be my walking tanks... slowly making their way through the battlefield as a pair of General classes. So Kellam and Sully equals K-jelly. Here's what I'm leaning towards. Probably about 75% certain. Chrom + Sumia = Lucina and Cynthia [spoiler=reasoning]In terms of the cutscenes, it seems like Sumia is the canon wife for Chrom. She is clearly affectionate to him (though this isn't something unique to her character), and saves his life on a Pegasus if I'm not wrong. In the menu cinematic for the game/trailer it looks like Sumia is the wife of Chrom holding the baby Lucina as well. So it feels like I'm supposed to choose Sumia to be Chrom's partner. It seems to work for Lucina. And Cynthia, when reclassed as a Dark Flier looks like she belongs to the family as well, with her blue hair and new dark blue attire. So it's all good and well for me. Though I have to admit, I am somewhat tempted to marry Cordelia and Chrom. The problem though; I can never picture Severa as the child of Chrom, or even the sister of Lucina. Lucina and Cynthia feel closer related. As if Cynthia could be the dopey little sister of Lucina. But with Severa? As Lucina's sister? It feels somewhat out of place. If Severa was really the daughter of Chrom, shouldn't she should be more concerned with changing destiny instead of her mother being so perfect. So I think I've gotta keep Sumia for this pairing. Chrom doesn't deserve a daughter like Severa. The Avatar + Lucina = Morgan [spoiler=reasoning]The potential in Morgan is too great to ignore. Out of all of the possible female partners, Lucina feels like the one I'm closest to as well. I've tried marrying Lissa and Anna, but wasn't satisfied with the love confessions. So I ended up marrying Say'ri the first time. But in hindsight, it was a waste of what could have been. Sorry Say'ri. I guess I'll tag you in with Yen'fay or Tiki sometime! I can't wait to experience how dramatic Lucina's realisation of the avatar as Chrom's murderer will be either. Donnel + Nowi = Nah [spoiler=reasoning]During my first play-through, I put Gregor and Nowi together. Solely because that's how the narrative introduced them to me. Gregor was good guy, yes? But I feel like there's better partners out there. He seemed like a mean and stern father for Nah, which wasn't that great to experience. I think she deserves better. Since it's easy to forget the lifespan of the Manakete, Nowi appears to be a little girl with an old man when paired with Gregor as well. So I wanted to choose a young father to go with Nowi. After hearing about the unholy alliance of Donnel and Nowi on numerous occasions, I have to try this. I have to see this super-powered Nah. The next pairings I'm probably about 60% certain with. Stahl + Cordelia = Severa [spoiler=reasoning]Stahl seems like a lazy guy. His artwork depicts him yawning on a rock. From his support conversations with Severa, it feels like he'd make for a lazy parent. So the rude personality of Severa feels like an appropriate consequence of his effort and influence. The support conversations between Stahl and Cordelia were just so sweet as well. I feel like I ought to keep this pairing together. Stahl and Cordelia can enter the battlefield as Paladin and Falcon Knight alike, with Severa as an Assassin of mine. I have enough Heroes (via Flavia and Donnel) without Severa whilst her severe personality makes the Assassin feel like a natural class choice. Lon'qu + Tharja = Noire [spoiler=reasoning]Tharja is one mean witch. She also doesn't stop talking about the avatar which is pretty annoying. But she's such a heartless and cruel character I could never marry her haha. In this regard, it feels like the pairing with Lon'qu kind of works. Since she couldn't get the avatar, she just had to make do with him. As for Lon'qu, the support conversations provide a really reasonable excuse for the them to get together. I intend to make Lon'qu a Dread Fighter and Tharja a Sorcerer. So they're going to feel like quite an evil pair in combat beside each other. Lon'qu's conversations with Noire are quite endearing. While I also like the fact that Lon'qu will give Noire dark hair. I had been playing around with the idea of Gaius, the sugar assassin, and Tharja hooking up. But a Noire with orange hair just doesn't work for me. I know it's just a name. But I really do feel like Noire should have dark hair. Light hair simply feels like a miscreation or a malfunction of sorts. As if I'm messing with destiny haha. These are the pairings I'm really quite uncertain about though. The ones I need help with. Especially the last pair. Vaike + Maribelle = Brady [spoiler=reasoning]I notice the artwork for Brady depicts him with blonde hair, so I'm somewhat inclined to choose a father with a light hair colour. Brady has quite a crass nature too. During my first play-through I stuck Donnel with Maribelle since they were basically left-over partners from other marriages, and the backwater villager nature of Donnel seemed like a reasonable excuse. But after realising how useful Donnel is, I can't think I can pair him with Maribelle again. Vaike on the other hand is quite an attractive candidate, if only for the matching hair colour to Brady's artwork, the convincingly inherited character, and the outright irony of Maribelle marrying such a barbarian. Literally, I'm thinking of promoting Vaike through Barbarian to the Berserker class to add a bit of variety to my game. Gregor + Panne = Yarne [spoiler=reasoning]So after witnessing Gregor's affections for Nowi from my first play-through, I understand that the man has a bit of a thing for shapeshifters. Either that or something that starts with "beast" and ends in "fatality" but I jest hehe. I actually think Gregor and Panne could make quite a decent pairing. Especially with plans to create a wild-man persona for Gregor by promoting Gregor to become another Berserker, like Vaike (there's seriously too many Heroes otherwise). My original pairing for Panne was with Gaius and it seemed to work well, but not enough to convince me to do it again. I want to try something different next time. Gaius + Miriel = Laurent [spoiler=reasoning]I have to admit, this is the pairing which I'm most concerned about. I can't see what Gaius and Miriel have in common, besides providing ranged attacks. But they were ultimately left-overs. The luck of the draw. That is to say that I didn't want to use Libra or Ricken as fathers. Libra is just too weird. And Ricken is too young. I initially paired him with Miriel during the first play-through of the game. But it just felt uncomfortably wrong. Miriel is a confident woman with brilliant smarts to match. It doesn't make any sense that she'd marry a child. Ricken is exactly that. He's just a boy, trying to act older. But you can't fool me. Gaius on the other hand, needs to be a parent. His support conversations with Yarne were so understanding. I have to re-use him again. I intend to make Laurent into another Sorcerer, whoever his parents are. Again to add a little more variety to my game (there's a potential saturation of Sages otherwise). So maybe Gaius and Laurent could be a dark duo, as Assassin and Sorcerer together. But it's all loose anyway. I'm not satisfied. Keeping in mind the pairings I'm more settled on, could you give me some advice on the marriage pairs towards the bottom of my list please? Eternally grateful, Red Falcon
  19. Something has came up in mind as I have (constantly) restarted Fire Emblem Awakening: hair color for the children. I may be the only one that is very observant on this minor trait, but perhaps others are as well. What do you all think are the best, worst, or most notable hair colors for the children? For me, giving Yarne an unnatural hair color burns my eyes or makes my laugh uncontrollably.
  20. Hello, everyone~~~! Today, I was just wondering on what hair color the Avatar has that would give Inigo his artwork hair color. I've tried out Hair Color #15, and it looks really good, but I read that there is a certain color that only MU has for Inigo's Hair color. I was just wondering, and what other hair colors looked really good on him and other children. :D
  21. Okay, so I love grinding and DLC and constant reclassing/customization for the best results, so gameplay on Normal/Hard passed pretty easily for me. Consequently, I didn't care much for "optimal pairings" or "best children" because I had no difficulty with the stages. Upon finally starting my lunatic run however, I discovered that this time I wanted to really plan out my pairings, skill inheritance and try to get the "best children in their best classes" possible! I'm absolutely fine with any sort of grinding and reclassing, so please don't hesitate to give me long reclassing paths if it's worth it! I also have full access to DLC and additional classes such as Dread Fighter and Bride, and skills like Limit Breaker - so there's no problem recommending me pairings that would utilize these skills/classes for their children. I've done some research of my own, and combined with the pairings that I used in my past playthroughs, I have come up with a draft - please don't hesitate correcting me! Chrom/Olivia (I've heard that this gives a great Inigo and Lucina) Inigo/feMU (Chrom or second gen is best for feMU, and Rightful King, so...) Cherche/Vaike/Frederick (Vaike gives crazy strength and I love a strong Gerome, but others seem to agree that Fred makes a tank Gerome. I'm a little worried about Fred's stats because in my past experiences Fred had quite inferior stats compared to other units further into the game.) Gaius/Tharja (Noire gets galeforce and that's awesome, but I've always made Gaius the father for Noire...is there any other good candidate for her father?) Maribelle/Lon'Qu/Henry/Libra (I've always done Lon'Qu for Brady and it worked out fine...but apparently Henry or Libra gives a good sorcerer potential for him. What should I do?) Miriel/Gregor (My mind is set on this one.) Nowi/Kellam/Donnel (Kellam gives Nah amazing defense. But why is everyone suggesting Donnel?) Sully/Donnel (Isn't this the best? I've heard Stahl and Vaike are good, too, but...) Panne/????? (Seriously, help me.) Lissa/Ricken/Libra/Henry/Vaike (So much potential...Owain might be a good magic user, but how about Dread Fighter? What should I do about him?) Cordelia/Lon'Qu/Stahl (That speed with Lon'Qu...but Stahl makes Severa a good hero...BUTBUTBUT) Sumia/Henry/Gaius/Fred/??? (I have zero ideas. But unfortunately Chrom is definitely out of question.) Please keep in mind, this is all for optimization and not supports or hair colours...(though I was very adamant on those before...) so no shipping wars! I greatly appreciate all the input, and thank you!
  22. Hello Everyone. Wow this feels strange (never posted in a forum before). Anyway to the point. I know there are a lot of resources out there but I was wondering what the best Morgan would be for a +SPD -LCK MaMU. So far I've narrowed it down to two: Sumia!Lucina!Morgan: (49/40/64/65/56/39/41) + Aether Lon/qu!Severa!Morgan: (51/39/66/66/54/40/38) These stats are as a assassin w/LB. Stat-wise there are pros and cons to both but Severa!Morgan seems to have better stats where it matter (+2 strength, +2 Skill, +1 Speed) but no Aether. So I guess my question is do a bit more stat points really make a difference(I've read discussions where a +1 in something sounded really important) or is Aether such a good skill that sacrificing a couple points is a reasonable sacrifice. Thanks in advance for your help.
  23. So, just a while ago I decided to recruit inigo (Chrom!Inigo) (This is my 4th playthrough only made so I can try out new child pairings) I usually did a sumia and chrom pairing, so I decided to see what olivia could do for chrom and I wasn't disappointed, Inigo seemed incredible and lucina had a lot of better classes to pick from. I failed the first 2 times on the level because of getting the 5 kills for inigo and I forgot to save in the prep menu each time causing me to have to reclass Chrom (I had him as a great knight) and switch around Olivia's abilities to get galeforce at the end. The last time I did it I was kind of rushing, and in my haste forgot to switch Olivia's abilities and by the time I realized I had already saved and went through the support conversations... Therefore causing me to feel a substantial amount of anger. So I just wanted to ask you if you have ever forgotten to pass down a vital skill to a child character?
  24. So as the title suggests, I'm looking for the best pairings/marriages I could do for Fe:A. I'm not planning to do DLC (not yet, anyway- maybe after I beat all classic modes for Hard and Lunatic) so please don't include the options that's only available with DLC. I understand that there are tons of forums and guides asking for the same thing but I eventually got tired of shifting through pages and pages to find my optimal pairings. And no one seemed to agree on specific pairings except some :/ I don't mind grinding to level up and get specific skills cause I want to make all my units the best they can be - I'm sort of OCD that way xD The pairings that I think are good and decided are in bold and the rest are my thoughts so please provide opinions^^ It would be great too if you could give me some ideas as in what skills to pass down. Chrom and FeMU – Pass down Rightful King and Galeforce/Ignis for Lucina, Aether and Galeforce/Ignis for Morgan Stahl and Cordelia – Pass down Aegis and Galeforce Gaius and Tharja - Pass down Lethality/Counter and Vengeance Henry and Sumia – Pass down Vengeance and Galeforce Ricken and Miriel – Pass down ? and ? Libra and Olivia – Pass down Renewal and Galeforce Gregor and Panne – Pass down Sol and Beastbanes Nowi and Donnel – Pass down ? and ? Kellam and Sully – Pass down ? and ? Vaike and Lissa – Pass down Counter and Renewal Lon’qu and Cherche – Pass down Astra and Swordbreaker Frederick/Virion and Maribelle – Pass down Luna/Prescience and Galeforce What else was there? @_@
  25. Okay, so I've been wanting to ask someone about the pairings I chose and how good they are (Both support/story/personality wise and optimization wise). I've played the game for a while now and wondered how good my pairings are. So I wanted to get a chance to ask other FE:A players about them. How good are my pairings good optimization wise and support wise? (I tried balancing them both out, not doing the worst optimization pairings or doing crack pairings) Alright so here are my pairings and the skills they passed down to their children: Chrom x Fem!MyUnit; This one just kind of...happened. At the end of Chapter 11, apparently my Avatar had the highest supports with Chrom, so they got married. I didn't reset it cause it's my first time playing, so now I want to say I don't regret it. Children: Lucina- Chrom passes down Aether and Fem!MyUnit passes down Ignis. Male!Morgan- Chrom passes down Rightful King and Fem!MyUnit passes down Galeforce Fredrick x Sumia; This one was sort of based on personal opinion. Since Fem!MyUnit was with Chrom, Sumia had a romantic option cut out, leaving Fredrick, Gaius, and Henry. For some reason I didn't like Gaius and Henry's hair colors on her so I went with Fredrick (And I had plans to pair Henry with someone else). Plus, imo, the supports were super adorable. Also, I couldn't find anyone better to pair Fredrick with at the time. I heard it's the worst pairing for Sumia stat wise; is that true? Children: Cynthia- Fredrick passed down Aegis and Sumia passed down Galeforce Virion x Sully; This one was truly based on my opinion. As soon as I saw them in Chapter 1 with their hilarious dialogue, I wanted to pair them up. I don't know if this is a good pairing or not stat wise for Kjelle. It's one of my favorite couples in Fire Emblem: Awakening, but is the optimization for Kjelle really bad? Children: Kjelle- Virion passed down Bowbreaker and Sully passed down Aegis Stahl x Cordelia; For some reason, when I saw the two together do so well in battle, I wanted to pair them up. That wasn't a bad choice; I later found out Stahl is one of Severa's best fathers. I might keep this pairing, unless you guys think there are better couples for Stahl and Coredlia respectively. Children: Severa- Stahl passed down Aegis and Cordelia passed down Galeforce Vaike x Lissa; I had a hard time with this one. I found it super hard to find a good husband for Lissa. Her options were limited at the time, so I did some research. I found out Vaike was a pretty solid father for Owain, so I went with it. The supports helped with my decision as well. Are there better husbands for Lissa though? Children: Owain- Vaike passed down Counter and Lissa passed down Galeforce Donnel x Nowi; Found out this was one of the best pairings for Nowi since Donnel passes down Aptitude to make a super strong Nah. Plus, the two look cute together, and I found Nah's hair to match her red cloak quite nicely. Children: Nah- Donnel passed down Aptitude and Nowi passed down Swordbreaker (Nah also learned Lancebreaker once I made her a Griffon Rider) Lon'qu x Olivia; ...I seriously had no purpose with optimization for this pairing. I went with it because I thought it was super adorable. Both are quiet and quite awkward around other people (women for Lon'qu), so I thought it'd be cute if they both got married. Plus Inigo looked good with Lon'qu's hair color, and the supports were pretty good. This pairing isn't bad stat wise, is it? Children: Inigo- Lon'qu passed down Vantage (because I did NOT want to go through the whole Myrimdon line) and Olivia passed down Galeforce Ricken x Miriel; One of my last pairings. Since both are magic users, I figured they would make Laurent an even powerful mage. The supports helped a bit too, although I did this one mainly because of the high magic stat. Children: Laurent- Ricken passed down Lifetaker and Miriel passed down Dual Support+ Gaius x Panne; ...This is seriously the last pairing I created. It was either Gaius or Kellam. I went with Gaius because I didn't want him to be forever alone'd he has good speed and skill stats, which Taguels excel in. Supports were freaking hilarious. Is Gaius better with someone else? I heard he's one of the best fathers. (Although I really don't care about the Galeforce thing with Gaius...as you can see, most of my characters already have Galeforce) Children: Yarne- Gaius passed down Astra and Panne passed down Lethality. Gregor x Cherche; This pairing I just went with the flow. Gregor's hair color looked good on Gerome, and both parents have really good stats. Plus I heard Gregor was a great father for Gerome, which was even a bigger reason why I went with it! Children: Gerome- Gregor passed down Armsthrift and Cherche passed down Deliverer (so I can avoid the whole Griffon Rider line) Libra x Maribelle; Both have high magic stats as well as being healers. That's why I ended up making Brady into a Sage. Supports also showed Maribelle's kind side that some people don't seem to notice. Children: Brady- Libra passed down Lifetaker and Maribelle passed down Galeforce Henry x Tharja; Both are magic users (although I found out later on that Noire is an archer). I found it kind of hilarious to pair both dark mages up; it makes sense to why Noire is bipolar. I felt like this pairing wasn't as good optimization wise as I thought, but it wasn't really bad. Children: Noire- Henry passed down Lifetaker and Tharja passed down Vengence. Kellam got forever alone'd cause I'm mean. /Brick'd Children pairings don't matter to me right now, I really want to focus on first gen pairings. If you comment, thanks for helping! I really appreciate it. (Also sorry for the long explanation; I get carried away sometimes )
