  1. Alright so I noticed Itsuki got a few regalia that were Spotpass regalia in Awakening. I kind of wrote it off at the time as being technically an Awakening reference since those regalia appeared in awakening. then I noticed Itsuki gets ahold of Durandal, and I somewhat flipped my shit since Durandal doesn't appear in FE13. Also noticed Florete from FE10. So, in total, what regalia or personal weapons does Itsuki get overall from across the franchise? There looks like quite a few references to Jugdral, Elibe, and Tellius were put into the Carnage Weapon lineup. if any of the other cast get regalia, I'd like to know that too if that's not too much trouble Also I don't know if this should be a different topic, but how am I supposed to get ahold of True Falchion? (interested since it's clearly Marth's Falchion and, well, ending spoilers)
  2. For the longest time I've tried to get through FE11, but the farthest I've made it is chapter 3. You'd think I'd stop trying after trying for a few years, but for some reason I just can't help but want to beat the game...at least once! There is always some push within myself to try and make it through the game and hopefully, I do one day. Thing is, I've been curious about FE12 for a bit, but with FE11 in mind, I'm not sure what to think. So, is it much better? Who knows, if it's any better, it might drive me to beat the game a bit faster! (Besides, with the Gaiden Remake coming soon, I might want to try beating it before May or risk putting if off for a couple of months again!) Thanks in advance!
  3. So, as I haven't seen anyone doing a Shadow Dragon Tier List, I thought I might as well go ahead and make one. Rules: 1. Scale ranges from 0 to 10, 0 being the absolute worst, 10 being a paragon of a unit. To be given in units of 0.5 only. 2. Try to give a somewhat justifiable reason for ranking the current character. 3. A +/- 0.5 bias can be applied to a unit as long as a reason is given. 4. Difficulty is Hard 1, but Frey and Norne will also be rated. Characters will appear in the order they show up in Normal mode. 5. Please rate and criticize honestly. So, to start it off, we have Aritian man himself, Marth. Class: Lord(Level 1) Class set: None (Level 30 special class) Stats: HP:18(80%) Str: 5(50%) Mag: 0(0%) Skl: 3(40%) Spd:7(50%) Lck:7(70%) Def:7(20%) Res:0 (2%) Marth is... okay, when it comes to lords. He isn't nearly as bad as Roy or Leif, but there are certainly better. Since he's forced for every chapter it is a good idea to train him unless you want to risk constantly dying. his defenses are a little low, but since Marth isn't supposed to be a front line fighter, this isn't too much of an issue. He also gets not one, but two specific items to wield: the Fire Emblem, and Falchion. One is a limitless chest key if you don't use Thieves, and while the other may just be a superpowered Wyrmslayer, it's still good at what it does. It could also be said that Marth is the sole recipient of the single pair of Boots in the game, given his other role is visiting villages, and that is made more difficult without Warp uses and/or Marth having boots. Overall, I give Marth 6/10, not the worst lord in the series, and certainly not bad in the game itself, but far and above better units exist.
  4. So in your opinion, who's the best axe user in this game and why? I personally prefer Barst, because his stats are close to each other unlike Cord and Bord's axe duo growths. Darros, I have never used before...
  5. So, I've been playing SD as of lately and I'm currently on Chapter 12... I added Wolf and Hardin to my main horsemen/cavaliers alongside Cain and Abel... But one thing bothered me, I did not include Sedgar... So, I did my research and found out that Sedgar's growth rates are more equally distributed than of Wolf's in my opinion. Although Wolf's 100% strength growth is good, he may lack defense with a 65% growth, 50% luck is kind of good, considering his defense growth is on 65%. Sedgar on the other hand has 80% in strength, 30% in luck and 80% on defense, making him level up defense and strength at an equal rate, his skill growth is also higher than Wolf's by 10%, with Wolf having 85%. I'm currently on Chapter 12 and Sedgar is still on level one since I did not use him for the past few chapters, while Wolf is on level five. So, should I train him alongside Wolf? Extra Question: If he falls short on stats, what should I reclass him to?
  6. So. Now we start FE11 semi randomized. If you don't know what that is, it's holding down the Right button and closing my eyes for 5 seconds. Voila, different class. Well, when I unlock reclassing, of course. So, I'll just post screenshots of the chapters, like any other LP, and with captions, like any other LP. I know I kind of just started the other two LP's and just kind of left you hanging, but that was when I didn't know how to do ANYTHING. Also, when I unlock the preparations menu (chapter 4), YOU guys will be deciding who gets to fight in each chapter! this is going to be a trainwreck
  7. I've been making edits to Fe11 using DSLazy and Nintenlord's LZ77 compressor, and have run into an issue with re-compressing the file for chapter 14's units - bmap014. After uncompressing the file for editing, recompressing, and assembling the .nds with the edited bmap014, the game hangs when loading Chapter 14. This happens even if no changes are made to bmap 014. Looking at the original and recompressed bmap014 in HxD, the two files are very diferent (not sure how to explain, but many bytes are not the same), and the recompressed file is two bytes larger. I'm thinking the bmap014 file is supposed to be fixed-length, and NL77C's (de)compression is producing a file that is larger than it ought to. ...But I'm not sure how to make it work properly. Any ideas?
  8. “The fuck is this, Phobia? Another LP so soon?” yeah i’ve been planning this since like two days after I started FE8 random so that’s why I rushed it so much, I wanted to move onto something that would really be a fun LP For my last birthday I started an LP that I didn't end up finishing because it was FE6, so for this one I want to try again. and guess what I’m playing FE12 after this, and it's all in this one thread Now, I know a lot of people don't like the DS games (or like one and not the other) and I'm not the BIGGEST fan of 11, but I really like 12. I do thoroughly enjoy Shadow Dragon, though. and I’M ONLY USING SHITTY UNITS. THAT MEANS I’LL BE USING A TIER LIST. Specifically, this tier list, because that’s the first I found and it's legit. [spoiler=HERE IS THE TIER LIST] Only mid to SHIT tier will be used, other than Marth Which means I will have some of the WORST units IN ANY FIRE EMBLEM GAME Mid Tier Norne Athena Wendell Wrys Horace Midia Dolph Ceasar Minerva Astram Roshea Castor Darros Low Tier Maria Gordin Roger Ymir Elice Macellan Samson Tomas Jagen Lorenz Lower Tier Est Matthis Jeorge Vyland Arran Shit Tier Boah Rickard Bantu Pretty much the same kind of tier list I would’ve made. I’ve used some of these characters before, namely Lorenz, Norne, Gordin, aaaaaaaaaaaand Jeorge? Of course, I do not get to use all of these characters because there’s a limit. I might have to reclass some so I dont have 60 bow users. [spoiler=Rules] Only mid to shit tier units + Marth. None of them may die, except Jeigan. Fuck him. None of them may be DEPLOYED unless required. As per request of dondon, Minerva will not be used Without any further ado I present the first episode of Phobia’s Akaneia Saga. [spoiler=Prologue 1] I chose easy mode because first of all, my team is going to be awful. Second of all, I need to grab Norne and that can only be done by LETTING PEOPLE DIE in the prologue. Which means Frey and Jeigan will be sacrificed, because Frey is not canon and even though I can use Jeigan he’s a piece of shit. is this marth’s brother, roy!? i really don’t care about this intro One dark and stormy night, Prince Marth stumbles drunkenly around his castle. Beggin’ your pardon, but why the fuck are you wearing such ugly armor? But whatever, I guess I’ll go see the princess. THE FUCK IS THIS THIS IS MY CASTLE WHY ARE YOU IN MY CASTLE, REDMAN? “I’m… I’m the bad guy, Marth! You’re supposed to be scared!” Unfortunately for Private Redman, his teammates suck balls. Seriously, why invade my castle if you’re just going to die in one quick 1v1? Oh, no, this guy took more than two hits. I’m doomed! Fuck outta here. Oh, good. Shitty levels already, princey? I’ll show ‘im how I can run to the throne! NO! THE THRONE! WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO NOW! I'M SORRY ANRI, BUT THIS IS WHERE IT ALL ENDS She’d be really mad if she knew that Gra was invading! Idk why the top map is so dark, but no matter! Prince Marth defeats the invading evildoer and ...seizes his own throne? Yes, sir! Yeah, I’m great, Elice, but like... our castle security is the worst. No big deal, though, I’m personally fine. I hope you guys will join me as I traverse the great continent of Akaneia. This is gonna be a loooong one.
  9. Heyo everyone, I haven't played FE11 in quite some time so I was thinking of doing so again, I'm not sure what difficulty yet, but I guess what units I get will determine that partly , thinking H2/H3 because its been awhile. Probably gonna have free Jeigan running around for a little bit. I want you guys to pick 14 characters for me, 1 per person. You can also pick their class, if I feel like it and can get my recording stuff to work I may record I dno, been having issues with that. 1. Wrys, Cavalier then Swordmaster - General Horace 2. Biraku/Vyland, Myrmidon then Paladin - Shin 3. Caeda, Pegasus line - Refa 4. Merric, Curate then Sniper - Boron 5. Doga, Dark Mage line - Batter 6. Maria, Myrmidon line - Breezy 7. Darros, Knight line - Xinny 8. Dolph, Pirate then Hero - Randoman 9. Nagi - Ninjamonkey 10. Hardin, Cavalier line - DavidSW 11. Wolf, Warrior - IceSage 12. Palla, Archer line - DarkDestr0yer 13. Tiki - Elieson 14 Etzel, General - Peppy
  10. I wanna know how to alter Norne's recruitment requirement so that you don't need to have one other character die besides the decoy. Does anyone know how to do that?
  11. When I get some free time (likely not very soon), I'm thinking of potentially running an LTC of FE11 on Merciless difficulty, aiming for sub 85 60 turns (with true ending, of course). I'll be doing a reasonable amount RNG manipulation to really reduce my turncounts, though I'll try to minimize it where possible. However, I'm not extremely familiar with this game, so I'll probably be asking you guys for input as I go along. Tentatively, my plan is to 5 turn Chapter 1; I plan on skipping having Marth grab the 10,000G village (unless anyone thinks this is a terrible idea, it saves two turns). but grabbing Wrys (warp user). For the overall campaign, I will roughly follow dondon's Warpskipping strategy list that is available somewhere on this forum a new warpskipping strategy developed primarily by Gradivus. [spoiler=Videos and Turn Counts]Chapter 1 (5 turns) Chapter 2 (4 turns) Chapter 3 (5 turns) Chapter 4 (4 turns) Chapter 5 (4 turns) Chapter 6 (2 turns) Chapter 7 (3 turns) Chapter 8 (2 turns) Chapter 9 (1 turn) Chapter 10 (3 turns) Chapter 11 (2 turns) Chapter 12 (2 turns) Chapter 13 (2 turns) Chapter 14 (2 turns) Chapter 15 (1 turn) Chapter 16 (1 turn) Chapter 17 (1 turn) Chapter 18 (1 turn) Chapter 19 (1 turn) Chapter 20 (3 turns) Chapter 21 (1 turn) Chapter 22 (1 turn) Chapter 23 (1 turn) Chapter 24 (1 turn) Chapter 24x (1 turn) Chapter 4 - w/ Merric (4 turns) And a link to the entire playthrough
  12. I wanted to try an H1 playthrough (probably not a gaiden run), but i don't want to copy my previous teams, which war as follows: 1st run (normal without gaidens. I killed garnef with starlight): Marth, sheeda, frey, able, ogma, barst, lena, nabarl, meric, sedgar (who i did not level enough, so he came out horrably), minerva, jake, xane, tiki, gotoh 2nd run (a gaiden run. I skiped garnef, and got nagi's chapter by killing and resurecting tiki) Marth, sheeda, frey, able, cain(as an archer/sniper), ogma, barst, lena, athena, meric, sedgar(as a general and used properly this time), jake, xane, tiki, nagi. Both times, i used julian for any thief needs, but not as a unit. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mx things up a bit and still have a decent team? I want to be able to use all weapon types and locked weapons (so longbows, excaleber, and aura. Missing the wing spear is not the end of the world this time as i got it the last two times). I have no access to wifi ( wsh that i could get a falconight for a change, but i perfer playing on my cart and have no cheating device, so that's a wash. Is it possible to spoof the 3ds internet to access the replacement wifi shop that i read someone put up? Any suggestions for different mages to run? Meric and lena do a decent job, but i want a change. I would still perfer to have both a male and female to get both tomes. I heard that sheeda works well, but i looking at stats, she looks worse then meric magicwise. Should i try using meric as a healer? Are there any good axe users other than Barst? I am considering having wolf go general this time and having sedgar go beserker, or possibly just using ogma and barst again, but having them swap classes this time. Is there enough EXP in this game to use both wolf and sedgar and still have a balanced party? Would it be a good idea to try to use julian? What about an archer/sniper? the defaults look questionable. Alternately, i could skip long bow usage and just rely on wolf/ sedgar for bow users (which is why i recomended bow classes above.) What about my flyers/paladins? Frey obviously no longer exists, and i would like to mix it up a bit. I hear hardin and the whitewings are good, but the whitewings seem to come lateish. As for the balistician, i'll probably just use beck. Xane has the advantage of being awesome even if you almost never deploy him, so i don't have to plan out using him. Overall, how hard is H1, compared to normal? How much can you experiment? Is it worth bothering to use marth? Do you get much additional EXP in hard as compared to normal? Are there any notable changes other then the lack of prolog?
  13. Took some of the H5 adaptations from an old draft that Integ hosted. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. Generics will be drafted at the same time as character units. 21 units will remain undrafted. 3. Marth, Jagen, Gotoh/Nagi, Xane, Wrys, Jeorge and Rickard are free for everyone. 4. Each player may pick one of Jake and Beck seperately from the drafting phase. 5. Caeda / Shiida is free for use until Chapter 12x and counts as undrafted for everyone later. 6. The game will be played on Hard 5. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may: move, buy or sell things, visit houses, meatshield, recruit units, trade and use map saves. 2. Forging is allowed up to +3 Mt, +15 Hit, +9 Crt and -3 Wt. 3. Gaidens are optional and not counted for the final turncount up to 20 turns, with penalties being counted seperately. 4. The Warp staff and the online shop are strictly banned. 5. Totally unreliable earlygame bosskills are fair game. Extra: 1. Chapter 19 must not be cleared before turn 5. 2. Ogma is allowed to attack the bosses of chapters 2 and 3. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units doing anything not allowed by the rules results in a 4-turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 14. I was wondering if you could romance your units together, like Awakening.
  15. In the favorite villains thread I partly discussed this, but we have a rather interesting dynamic here between FE3 and FE4 in the category of loyalty. Wolf, leader of the Wolfguard, was saved by Hardin when he was in slavery in Aurelis. Along with his fellows, Sedgar, Roshea and Biraku Vyland. They pledged their loyalty to Hardin, to death. Which actually happens in Mystery of the Emblem, The Wolfguard tragically stands against Marth other than Roshea and falls alongside their now Dark Emperor despite his fall to darkness. Wolf never even questions his lords orders, in New Mystery of the Emblem, the Wolf Guard can all be spared and join, however Wolf is the last and least likely to fight against his lord. In the end of New Mystery if he survives he ends up throwing himself into battles hoping to die to join his departed master (unless Femu has a support with him if I recall). Finn, a young Lenster knight devoted to his lord Prince Quan, his loyalty is also noted in various chats with other characters and extends into his later life after Quan and Ethlyn tragically die after a Thracian ambush near Barhara. Finn looks after Leif, Quan's son as a dutiful attendant and father figure. When the king of Lenster is slain and Finn has to get Leif to safety he follows him to the absolute end, helping him endure struggle after struggle in Thracia 776, later when he meets Leif's sister. Altenna he openly shows his emotions for the first time in quite some time, according to himself. He's also loyal to Lachesis, who we can fight over canon about, but even the main site explains "After the events of Geneaology of Holy War, Fin leaves Prince Leaf and goes to fulfill an unknown personal agenda. There are later rumours of him being spotted looking for someone in the Yied Desert, in the same area where Lachesis had been supposed to pass through years before only to never be seen again." So there you have 2 characters highly driven by loyalty, is Finn a take on Wolf from a still tragic yet not completely hopeless case? Did IS just happen to like this kind of character to give us two characters who demonstrated loyalty both one who oft spoke when he could or felt like it, to the more quiet and always serious (which funny enough Finn also shows these traits after Quan and Ethlyns untimely ends). I just felt it was an interesting duo to talk about. Both characters are absolutely loyal to their lords. The world changing/removing their lords provides both with various challenges, which they react to very differently. Yet you can't help but see SOME similarities.
  16. While I enjoyed the DS Games very much, I thought I'd address some of the commpaints. * Have the background info from the developers notes all in the game. * Make more prepromotes like Jorge and Lorenz have less pathetic growths and/or base stats. * Give Pirates their own growths in Shadow Dragon * Spread out the classes a bit more. Book 2 Barst is a pirate, Ellerean is a dark mage, * A classic mode that has most of the original growths * More balanced stat caps no 30 Defense for Paladins * Uniform colors in battle animations that are similar to hair in that they reapeat. Astram and Dolph both wear the same shade of green for example. * Get rid of the Gaiden chapter requirements, but keep the replacement generics for new players. * Have various objectives in multiplayer such as one player tries to defend, while the other tries to seize. * Put in a few more characters like an ex soldier from the Gra army Anyone else have any ideas that'd be nice?
  17. Is was looking around tasvidios.org and i noticed that shadow dragon recently had a tool assisted speedrun put up. I found this exciting because the record holding real-time run on sda is so badly recorded that it is unwatchable. The tasvidios page is here: http://tasvideos.org/2690M.html Also, here is the actual video: What do you guys think of it?
  18. Who do you usually send to kill Gharnef with the Starlight Tome? Merric - Student of magic, first avaliable mage in FE1 (FE11), wants to rescue Marth's sis. Linde - Daughter of Miloah, who was killed by Gharnef. Wants revenge. Wendell - Bishop/Sage and Merric's teacher Ellerean - Merric's rival, Wendell's student. Want's to prove himself. Yubello - Because sending a little kid to kill the main villain is funny. Frost - Random old guy deserves the credit Mallesia - Because she can? Maria - Because she can? Lena - Because she can? FE12's Avatar - Because YOU want the glory of his death. Etzel - The only sorcerer. Yumina - Same reason at her brother :^) Katarina - Because BFFFLs.
  19. I have only played Awakening (not finished yet). But I was thinking of getting the only other FE I can get, Shadow Dragon (I own no GBA, GC, or Wii). From a point if view of playing just FE: Awakening?: Is it good? Is it hard? I've grinded the crap out of my units in Awakening and I'm enjoying stomping through the game (I only play 1-2 Chapters a day, I'm at 18 currently). How relevant is it to this game, game mechanics wise and story-wise?
  20. So, most other games in the series have either natural difficulty (FE12 and FE13) or they have increased difficulty hacks, but AFAIK there is nothing like that for either of these games (at least there is nothing that I can run on my unmodified consoles). Anyway, I'm starting to think about my next challenge run, and I've considered the possibility of doing something with FE10. It's by far my favorite game in the series. The problem? Even on HM it is too EASY. Any suggestions on how I can make it challenging around the level of FE12 0% growths (not something I've done, just something else I've considered) or FE13 Lunatic+ no grind (my current challenge run)? Unfortunately, I can't hack this game so it is gonna have to be something that is naturally possible. I've also considered trying something with FE9 instead. I don't have anything specific in mind here either, but I AM able to hack this game at least as much as is possible with a hard copy and an Action Replay. Among the tricks in that arsenal is a code that lets me control any of the characters that show up in the game (no matter if they are neutral, enemy, or just show up on the sidelines for a few turns). I've used this to get people like Sanaki and other super secret characters in the past but this usually corrupted the save file within a few minutes of my getting them, so I am probably restricted to people who are on the battlefield or at least have data in the game. I'm thinking about an all enemy units run but I don't know how that would go since bexp would probably trivialize those even. Havetti solo ftw Anyway, I am open to suggestions on any way to help make these games challenging, be they legitimate or not (except, again, no FE10 hacking for me). I would like to make them as difficult as possible while still being doable, but not tedious either (I mean, sure FE13 is tedious but that's not really what I mean, a better example of something tedious would be say a Rolf solo because that, while doable, would get boring fast and would not require strategy or have any real purpose).
