  1. I have been messing around with FE6 for my own personal amusement in Nightmare and I like to change who my units are.. But an odd thing happens when two of the same units are on the map in events where that unit is supposed to leave the map... Why does the game by force take away my unit and not the other like it is supposed to? what the hack I trie deven fixing the character numbers to have them proper Alan is Alan but still has Idoun`s portrait etc. And Idoun is well... the same expet for a few stats, growths etc. changed.. It is almost like they are linked as one.. I even tried swapping Alan`s spot with her but the game will crash if I do that. So is there anyway at all to bypass or fix this? I have seen other Rom hacks do portrait change and unit change and their games run like normal no problems.. Heh I would like to well.. keep Idoun but the game says no and takes mine away by force I even made a short video to show it vid is below. You will get to see my Idoun getting taken away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXQ2K1nMlBg
  2. Ever since last week, I've been using tools to modify a game, so I'm new to romhacking. My question is: Is there a way to move an event from one chapter to an earlier one? I'm looking to give Roy a promotion at the end of chapter 16, and if so, will it affect the recent translation patch?
  3. Hi, I've downloaded the two Tony Mode patches (for FE7 and FE6) from the Project Directory. I also managed to download ROMs for the respective games. When it came to patching FE7 with the FE7 Tony Mode patch, it worked fine. However, I can't seem to put the FE6 Tony Mode patch onto the FE6 ROM (I'm using NUPS). The error message says 'The patch doesn't match the file. Patching cancelled.' I'm using the FE6 Japanese ROM (I tried downloading it from four different sources but none of them are patch-able). As a side-note, separately, I've managed to patch FE6 with the English Translation patch so I don't think the ROM itself is an issue. Also, does anyone know if I can patch FE6 with both the English Translation patch and the Tony Mode patch? Thanks!
  4. I just recently beat the game (legitimately, Gaidens and all) and I had SO many units on my bench it wasn't even funny. This is a topic I always wanted to discuss seeing as, my god, there are always multiple versions of a unit, and more often than not there are like 3 prepromotes of said unit. I mean come on, there are like 4 Paladins. It's... either a blessing or a terrible thing, so what do you think?
  5. So I just recently beat FE6 again and it got me wondering, why is FE7 a prequel to FE6? FE7's main plot has like nothing to do with Elibe. The Black Fang? Dragon's Gate? Quintessence? None of it builds off of the foundation from FE6. Yeah there's that whole Bern succession subplot at the end of the game but it feels really tacked on. It's funny because I was thinking that FE6 might have been a game that could benefit from a prequel. There's a lot of history suggested by the game that I think would be interesting to explore: how far back goes the conflict between Sacae and Bern, how did Etruria come to colonize the Western Isles, how do the Illans maintain dignity as a people when working for other nations. I'm not a writer so maybe it wouldn't have been that great anyway, but still. I don't resent FE7 for not being my personal fanfiction, but it's like, why is this a prequel? It feels like they had Black Fang plot done first and then rewrote it to try to be a FE6 prequel. Why? Was FE6 that popular that the next game had to be related to it? I don't think it really fits. I'm not even saying FE7's story is bad (although I don't really like it). I just don't know what they were thinking. Any thoughts? Would you have preferred a real prequel to FE6? What would you have wanted it to be about?
  6. So, I've been working on an FE6 hack. Then I realized that I've never actually finished FE6. I think the highest I've gone was chapter 20 or so. I think I shall rectify this in the most painful manner possible. Rules: If a unit uses bows at some point, it's in. Roy is the only non-bow user that can fight. Elen, Saul and Clarine will be allowed to heal, but must remain unpromoted. Other units can meatshield, but I won't abuse this. Thieves can steal, open chests and doors, and get stuff in the desert. They won't see any combat (I can't think of anything I'd need to steal that a base speed Astohl couldn't nab). I'm going to shoot for the best ending, so I may need to use fliers to complete the desert chapter in the time limit. We shall see. [spoiler=Why Am I Doing This Again?] Once again, Man fucks everything up. This isn't him, it's his evil twin from Death Dealt in Darkness! BRING IT ON Bandits, eh? What else is new? Heh. Hehehe. Hehehehehehehe. Yeah, right. "And we're just the plucky sort to do just that!" Let's see what exactly we're dealing with here... Lovely. Marcus meatshields and Roy heads off to a forest to lure that fighter. Off to a good start. Roy can't double or OHKO that fighter, so Bors is going to protect Wolt from being hit until Roy can finish him off... ...after Lance relieves him of his weaponry, of course. Didn't dodge. Oh noes. Bors is going to lure that archer so that Lance can beat the bandit to the village without being hit. THAT NOISE IS SO DAMN FUNNY Lance is out of everyone's range...except that brigand. Ah well. He can tank a hit, I hope. Wolt chips the archer, and then dodges! Nice going! On EP, Lance isn't so lucky. But Wolt makes up for it by dodging AGAIN! Time to play Ring Around the Rosie (Village) Not much to report. Lance is going to dodge this next hit. For a first level, it could be better, but it has strength. Not gonna complain. Roy's gonna get that brigand off of Lance's tail, and lure the other two fighters as well. Unfortunately, one of them survived the next PP and Wolt couldn't dodge. Not complaining. If Wolt misses his, he'll most likely die unless Marcus rescues him. But he didn't miss. I have him heal up anyways in anticipation of future beatings. 15 turns later...RoyxWolt C. I'm going to use supports because A) I really don't have that many units, and B) they mostly don't have great growths. Some of the later prepromotes don't even have any supports (namely Klein, Igrene, and Bartre) that I can use. Also, 4 of these guys have ice affinity, which...isn't that great. WHY CAN'T YOU KO He moves onto a forest to boost his evasion and gets a crappy level. Roy can kill the other one, though. Instead of going for the guy who CAN't hit him back, he goes for the one who can. Roy gets an unremarkable level. A later fighter does the EXACT SAME THING! So I decided to let Wolt chip and Roy tank. He can't tank, though. That was entirely superfluous, Wolt. Now that Roy has no weaponry, they go after Wolt. #FEAILogic No! NO! Mage-killer Roy is growing into his role. Not bad odds. I was expecting ~1 damage. Didn't take it, but just put him there. YES! You will go far if you keep this up. AND OH MY GOD YOU'RE DOUBLING [spoiler=Going Down a Dark Road...] Obligatory title screen Hi Milady! I wish I could use you! Also, your name is stupid! I like this guy. TOO LATE NOW Ruh roh. Yes you can, and that is all you shall do. And you shall do it well. Obligatory "you know you suck when Wolt one-rounds you" pic. WHOA KEEP GOING MATE But Roy can't. I shall hope for a crit. It was in vain. Might sell this, might hang on to it. We shall see. HI DEKE And More importantly HI LOT AND WADE I HOPE YOU WON'T SUCK Up, up, and away! Wade actually crit. A 1% crit. Never seen that before. Meanwhile, back at base... Oh, NOW you decide to crit? Bought 3 iron bows and sold the silver lance. Wade and a figher engage in a missing contest. This will become a theme, I feel. Lot don't care about low odds. Elen does her first heal of many. Since I didn't take a pic of his bases, you can figure them out from this picture. They're absolutely amazing. Yawnsville. Lance sells his lance collection. WadexLot C support, bringing them some much needed accuracy. NUH UH. NOT COOL. RoyxWolt B. I think I remember why people don't like FE6. Got strength. All's well. 3 turns of whiffing later, Wade finally gets a hit. Lot finishes Ruud off with his hand axe and gets a shitty level. I though it was usually the other way around... But I'm not a BDSM expert, so whatever.
  7. Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, did something that I always thought was brilliant: it included two "books," a remake of the first game and then a full on sequel, while the whole package was a refinement of the systems already established in the first game and (to a lesser extent) Gaiden. The idea of having the prequel and the sequel together in one place always delighted me, and, so, for someone looking to get his start with ROMHacking, a thought a neat idea would be doing the same treatment for Fire Emblem 6 and 7, where, instead of Hector's Story, you played Roy's Story, which was Fire Emblem 6. Mapping out the Chapters (including trimming Lyn's story down to 7+1 Gaiden chapter, 30 Eliwood Chapters in a mix of main, Gaiden, and A/B Route splits, and trimming off just one Chapter of FE6), not only is there enough room for all the Chapters from 6, there's room enough for one more chapter in FE7 to better tie the two together. However, there are other limitation concerns I was wondering about: 1. Character limitations. Counting Wallace/Geitz, Nils/Ninian, and Harken/Karel as one unit each, Fire Emblem 7 has 46 available characters by the Finale (45 if we consider Merlinus's lack of deployment and Athos's ability to deploy as them exchanging character limit positions). Applying the same to Lalum/Elphin, Echidna/Bartre, and Dayan/Yuno, Fire Emblem 6 has 50 available characters (51 if we count Merlinus). Is there room enough in Fire Emblem 7's ROM to accommodate 50/51 available, deployable characters? What's the hard cap for available characters? 2. Speaking of Character Limitations, while you'd never have them all in one room, that is still 103 individual recruitable characters, not to mention all the new bosses (even if we trimmed out all the Monke's down to 1 in the Sacae Route Gaiden Chapter). Can the ROM support all that character, unit, and portrait data, let alone potentially 7 new playable characters (5 NPC's and Bosses promoted to playable in FE7, 2 NPC's/Bosses in FE6)? 3. Support Limits. Restoration Queen ran into technical problems with FE8's ROM, working around new paired endings, that some of the originals had to be cut. A potential "Elibe Book 1, Book 2" project would have all the supports from 7, AND from 6, AND all the endings from both (the shortened endings would obviously be cut, but that's still all the full character endings). What are the hard and fast limits on new supports and new paired endings (if, say, one of the new playable characters had a support and paired ending with one of the original characters?) 4. Would it just be easier to remake both FE7 and 6 in Microsoft XNA like FE7x is doing? It'd technically be more work but there would be so much hardware room to work with?
  8. just wondering, if FE6-8 run on the same engine why can't all of the games link up for the battle arena?
  9. Hello everyone! As the thread title would lead you to believe, I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite complete rom hacks are. I only just discovered rom hacks recently and absolutely love them. The one problem I've had is finding downloads for the complete versions of the ones I don't already possess (The Last Promise, Sacred Contention, Matthew's Nightmare). I've been to the FEShrine, but the links in their directory usually lead to threads with the unfinished files. So, in addition to telling me what your favorite romhack is, if you could also link a download of the completed version I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for sharing opinions and suggestions on this matter.
  10. Hey guys I have run into a problem with FE6 while trying to hack it with nightmare. Well I used the portrait changer thing in character editor section and changed wolts character number and description to that of Brunya and even changed his pallette to her color pretty neat that one has pallette part in the simple unit editor. Anyway the problem I am running into is the changes I make to Wolt or any other character by changing their pallette, growths and portrait don`t stay! they only stay while the game is on but as soon as I say reset the game or suspend the chapter than turn back on my Brunya is just a generic mage with none of the special growths or even pallette I set to her why is that? I have also had crashing problems with the game at around chapter 2 where it just freezes and won`t go beyond chapter 2... So am I messing something up? or missing any parts? or is changing portraits more complicated than just simply clicking on a few drop down boxes and such heh you know how nightmare is.
  11. Due to some reasons, the FE6 MANLY RUN had to be cancelled. Fortunately, after some planning, we have decided to restart the run. This means that I LOSE ALL MY SHITTY LEVEL UPS!!! Oh well, I'll probably get them all back anyway. Rules are the same as last time. 1. Obviously Men only (Elphin is a guy) 2. Women can be moved, but other than that only used for recruitment (Sadly, Echidna is a woman) 3. Elphin or Echidna Route doesn't matter at all 4. Same with Ilia or Sacae 5. Normal Mode, because the lack of healers earlygame will make it nearly unbearable (Also because I'm a coward) 6. Just gonna throw out a swearing warning, if anyone actually cares As Marquess unfortunately left us, a new person will be taking his place. The manliest of men have facial hair, and who did that? He is experienced in the art of manly runs. He is myth. He is legend. He is probably going to get much better levels than me. The FE6 MANLY RUN will now feature... DODGEDUSK!!! That is all. Here's chapter one. [spoiler=Chapter One] IT RETURNS PLOT You bet your ass it was, cause this! Is! ELIBE!!! Oh wait... It says Pherae doh RAT FACE KID Let's not A moment of silence for the item in that village We will never know what it is What? Villagers? You think I give a shit about villagers? "I heard everyone was on top of each other and came as fast as I could" CHIN is giving his stuff to Lance I'm still not using him "That's right Marcus. Gimme those weapons, now you go out there and hope they don't hit you! Good luck!" First hit of the project! Hey, that's my line! Oh, darn THE CHIN IS BEING USED TO GO SEE VILLAGE GIRLS WHAT A PRO I'm curious if he can potentially be good If Roy can double you, you need to rethink your life ROY ARE YOU REDEEMING YOURSELF SO PROUD DAMMIT YES MOOLAH SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED Dolt, what? I've decided on something. I'll put up a poll on what scrub character I should use. What did I really expect? Lance you really need one more point of strength STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENGTH It's doomsday for this jackass ROY WHY WHA ROY YES DUMBASS DOLT GET HIM I really hope I don't get you in the scrub poll Yeah, he got one more point of strength DEJA VU "But why are you on each other?!" WAIT ELIWOOD HAS BECOME ELIDAD ELIDAD Next time, the revenge of MAN OF STEEL And here's a summary of the run:
  12. I have played chapter 11A for the second time and I still don't have a good strategy to let all the Pegasus Knights of Tate's army alive to get the Elysian Whip. My problem is that I have trouble to reach Tate in time without losing any Peg. Knights. Klein will be circled by the 4 Peg. Knights so he cannot move. If I rescue Klein with Thany, the Peg. Knights would attack Thany and kill theirselfes. Further problem are Klein's NPC-archers, who will attack and oneshot the Peg. Knights. So I even have to rescue all of them. Even rescue, take and drop actions and using Lalum hasn't helped so far. In this chapter I also have trouble to protect all the villages. Mainly the village on the top right will be destroyed by a brigand, because I cannot visit it in time. Though I think a promoted unit can rush to the right. So I would ask for a good strategy to let all the Pegasus Knights alive to get the Elysian Whip in this chapter.
  13. So since I'm being red shirted this year I'm bored. So what else could I possibly do then a stupid gimmicky play through of FE 6. I thought maybe axe users, then maybe sword users, but both of those sound really dull so instead I'm doing a mount less run of the game. at least I'm not doing this in FE 4. With that being said I'm open to unit suggestions because why not. Anyways here's chapter 1. [spoiler=chapter 1] Whee brand new rom to dick around with. Boring exposition stuff that I don't give a shit about. Chapter 1 REALLY! Eliwood is the greatest knight in lycia. What happened did oswin hector, sain, kent, lowen, and marcus all die or something. What sort of a response is that. So while they are prepping their defenses for a massive army lets attack with a small group God merlinus you let yourself go. That's a bit of underreaction to being told you're under attack. Wait. So we're being attacked by a bunch of units with 0 res and we're sending the one mage away. This sounds very inappropriate out of context. This is Damas. He's pretty suck. MARCUS. I wish I could use you. Apparantely really good but you will not be used so... Hey its shitty armor. He might get used. Probably not. Shitty archer. I will probably use you. I have no idea why. Another good unit I can't use. Worst lord ever. Maybe. He might do well up until people start getting promoted. Wait bors can actually hit things. This was the majority of my chapter plan. Roy hits on EP Wolt steals kills on PP. One hit on like 5 bandit attempts. Pretty sure Roy killed this dude with an unnecessary crit. I missed a screen, no that it matters cause the level up sucked. Master plan phase two. Roy chips on EP then again in PP for more wolt kills. Better but I'd like some speed. Feeding roy an archer kill. At you got defense. Maybe you'll go full thwomp on me. Actually the cavs did nothing and bors got one kill. So it was really just and archer and shitty swordman. He is the only enemy on the map that can be doubled by any of my usable units. Wolt super stronk. Dat 6 str. Okay now try proc'ing strength and speed at the same time. It will because I have an armor knight next map and it would make things easier. Fuck you too eliwood. "So we should have a 12 year old run the larget country in the leauge"-Eliwood 2014 Your sure this isn't FE1? Are we talking about the same merlinus?
  14. I've always wanted to do one of these, and since I've both never played the new translation patch yet and never played through hard mode yet, I might as well get all three things done at once. To make things more exciting, I'm only using units who're categorized as Low or Utter Shit tier in the HM Teir list (http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=18979). Some rules I've set for myself: 1) Roy counts as a crappy unit 2) Marcus is free for the first few chapters since I'd get massacred without him 3) Unpromoted healers are also okay 4) I can take anyone from Low tier to endgame, but Sophia and Wendy have to be there 5) Forced units get villages and shops, but can’t initiate an attack or tank for real units 6) I can use a thief, but once I have Cath it has to be her 7) I can use save states, but I’ll try and keep them fairly minimal 8) People voted that I can use Lalum, so she's free too Anyway, with that, here it goes! [spoiler=Chapter One] And so it begins. Obligatory expository banter Obligatory-er title card I will never get over how beautiful this man is Does anyone in the castle actually end up dying? This kinda gets glossed over. So… did Hector and Eliwood just kind of swap kids? I don’t feel like Lilina being here actually adds to the scene in any meaningful way other than to rub in your face that she exists and you can’t have her yet. The crew. Lance won’t be needing these. Yoink Perfect defensive formation. Nothing can possibly go wrong. (I apparently forgot to sreencap the first enemy turn because I’m an idiot, but Roy got attacked and the rest of the red guys moved in for the lump in the back, so I moved Marcus up to block them) Marcus is so much cooler purple than orange. Wolt finishes off the Warrior from above, netting me my first kill. Bors miraculously helps chip FLAWLESS TACTICS Roy’s first kill. He’s been pretty boss at dodging so far. Wolt, on the other hand… Bors would’ve gotten doubled, so I just sat him there to protect Wolt from more axes to the head. Ditto for Marcus, except he’s mostly just not attacking because I don’t want him hogging the exp. Tanking like a purple champ Meanwhile, Wolt tries his hardest to be helpful I figured I could risk it since Bors needs exp and I’ve got Marcus and Roy there as backup, but he comes through for me again. (Also I might have completely forgotten about that village until just now) My tactical skills remain unparalleled Much better. Bors is using up all the luck in this whole run right at the start, just you wait. Wolt chugs a vulnerary in preparation for an archer-off Meanwhile dodge master Roy takes on that brigand. Wolt is possibly a little outclassed. Roy takes down the brigand and gets the first level of the run! And… it’s the shittiest 4 stat level possible. At least Res will be kind of nice eventually. Maniacal laughter This was supposed to be the killing blow but apparently if you screencap at the wrong time you just get the flash and can’t see anything. Bors, showing Roy how it’s done. I lured one fighter out by himself and had Roy dodge tank him as long as he could. youtried.png Risked it, everything paid off. Time to vulnerary up and go for the next one. The dodge master at work. Roy plz you’re my only sword user until Juno/Dyan Last one before the guys by the castle So close …Or not Honourably sacrificing the kill to his lord Dodge master Roy finally gets hit. That’s more like it. When you get this close, the remaining grunts start charging at you. Combat montage Next fighter Roy plz T_____T Just the archer and the boss left, now. The archer couldn’t hurt Bors, so I had them dance for a while. He’s got a point; if they’d just gone around the little ledge, I’d have been SOL. This fight is pretty much just chipping forever. Roy heals up so he can help. everyborsattack.png Dodge master Roy made it like, three rounds. I had to resort to Marcus-ing him since waiting for Bors to hit the boss like 5 times without Wolt missing would have taken forever, but I didn’t want Marcus to get the kill, so I had him wait. Chip levels. Everyone’s putting Roy to shame. Ffffff If Roy’d missed and been killed, I’d have raged. That is not how I think I will ever be able to describe this army. Tears Roy’s finally home I don’t care how sick the story says Eliwood is, if he managed to hold off any of these guys he is definitely still fit enough to be leading this army, especially over base Str Roy of all people. So, this means I’m gonna get reinforcements from like, Santaruz and Kathelet and all those other places, right? Right? “Without Marquess Manly-Beard there, the people will be distressed, but if this tiny girl with no experience takes over everything will be fine!” He is talking about Merlinus. At least someone does. And that’s it! Hope you enjoyed reading, and I’ll try to update fairly frequently, though y’all know how these things work.
  15. Inspired by the FE7 Tag-Team that David started (that I still need to update), a group of posters from the Last to Post thread teamed up to get through Fuuin no Tsurugi. They will laugh. They will cry. This will curse their fellow teammates when they do trollish moves (let's hope not). Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you...The Sword of Seals/The Binding Blade Tag-Team! The bros (and one sis): Jprebs, Kalas, Dusk, ZM, Poly. The following units cannot be killed off at all and must be used as much as they possibly can: Jprebs: Dusk: Kalas: ZM: Duck: This will start soon. Because Jprebs wanted me to get it up, for some reason. :P
  16. They said it couldn't be done, they said it was absurd... But I'll show them! I'll show them AAAALLLLLL! ... Ahem. So this is an idea that's been floating around the boards and no one has done it yet... until today! With Roy as my only sword user, three healers, and a whole lot of axes, will I be able to beat the game notorious for its bad hit rates? We'll see! [spoiler=Rules]1. AXES ARE THE ONLY WEAPON. Anyone who can't use axes doesn't fight! Exception 1: Roy is allowed because fuck having him one-shotted by siege weapons from Ch14x on. Exception 2: Marcus can use whatever the heck he wants for the first two chapters. Exception 3: Ellen/Saul/Clarine can be used for healing, but may not promote. Dancers can dance. Might use other non-combat utility here and there (i.e. ferrying in Chapter 8). 2. We do this on HARD MODE. Game will be played to the true ending. 3. Two savestates per chapter, just like Shadow Dragon. Let us begin... Now. [spoiler=First is the worst] No axes, 0/10 fuck this chapter I mean seriously, look at them. Would it be too much to ask for one of these guys to be on our side? Whatever. Just hand in your weapons and fall back, scrubs. And why is this even an option? Is there anyone here who doesn't change this to "Fast" at the first opportunity? For glory! Step it up, Marcus! Roy is dodging better than you! And it wasn't just one hit. Both fighters hit him. You should be ashamed of yourself, Marcus. Well, that didn't take long. Okay, let's try this again. I'm not using this for long, why not? And then after another death I decided the bottom route is probably much better. Well, mostly easier. One time I tried having Marcus go straight for the archer's throat... Bad idea. Thaaaaat's a good Jeigan. Why can't Iron Swords have one more Mt? :c acceptable I'm trying to farm good levels early on, because I'm going to need them. Used a save state here so he doesn't die from shit rates on a forest. Shut up and give me my gold Navi Not bad. Who you calling idiots, Dumbass? You can't even spell your name right! Marcus is getting tired of these bandits. Okay Roy, let's see if you can pull it off! Didn't think so. At least the level was good. More softening with Marcus and... There, that wraps things up. See you in Chapter 2!
  17. FIRE EMBLEM 6 NEW (v.96) TRANSLATION PATCH NORMAL MODE, HEADGEAR ONLY LET'S PROC (PRotect Our Craniums) THIS JIM
  18. I have Fire Emblem 6 on the GBA. It's (of course) all in Japanese and though I've done okay enough considering I don't know a word of what they're saying, I've encountered a small problem. I just found out that I missed the divine weapon Armads and that I've sentenced myself to the so-called bad ending of the game. I really want to play it in full, including the last few chapters, but I don't want to start from scratch. Playing in Japanese was hard enough the first time around. I know I can look up translations, and try to restart the game but I was hoping there might be a better solution. Is there a way I can use an emulator to recreate my scenario from the GBA (but with Armads)? Is there a way to start from Chapter 14 and recreate my characters as I used them in the game? Or can I at the very least change the characters' levels to avoid grinding and arena abuse like I did in my current play-through? I know there are hacking programs that can edit stats, but they seem to only affect base stats and growth rates, which I don't want to alter. I also don't want to make my characters start at higher levels, because then they'll be too overpowered by the end. If I could change their levels/stats mid-game that would work, but it doesn't seem to be an option. Of course the ideal is a way to import or replicate the data directly but that doesn't seem possible. Any ideas? Thanks!
  19. I've looked and didn't seem to find any detailed pairings of FE6 canon here (probably because of the hard-on the game seemed to have for only Roy) but there were definitely some implied pairings I thought would have been great had the game actually allowed you to pair up other people... Saul x Dorothy Everytime I doubt this i reminds me of Miroku and Sango...so...instant canon points from me... Sue x Roy Shin I "want" to ship Sue x Roy because it give me the impression of Lyn x Eliwood but nah...Shin/Sue...kinda obvious. Especially seeing how he ends up becoming the new Wolf. Zealot x Juno obvious Klein x Tate obvious Perceval x Cecilia ehhh...only because I see someone better with Lalum in my mind Zeiss x Ellen Great supports ^_^ Wendy x Barth She seems to crush on him, plus he at least cares for her. Pretty sure it could get fleshed out more in the epilogue. Niime x Yodel I feel like if they had the chance, once things settled down they would work out their differences. Treck x Miledy I would pair her with Galle...but I killed him...soooo.....On to Treck she goes! Treck is one of the most hilarious characters in FE6 so he deserves someone...hmmm maybe Gonzales x Treck. Oujay x Lalum Super special dance time Ray x Sophia nice supports, could see this going great had FE6 actually fleshed out their supports Astol x Igrene They would get back together after finally meeting again I'd think Ward x Thany hmmmm why not and roy....ehh....I don't really like Roy. But I like Lilina so she can have him. I'd like to hear what other people thought canonically happened in the epilogue besides it being the "Roy" show
  20. Hey guys so something has had me wondering while messing with FE6 in nightmare uhh how do you change char portraits without any problems or for that matter problems that won`t hinder gameplay too much like major glitches etc. Awhile ago I was hacking FE6 and I wanted to change character portraits and it worked for chapter 1 then after chapter 2 ended the game just freezes!! another problem i have is FE6 has growth rate and pallete editors after I reset the game and start a chapter up again my changed characters lose all the stuff i gave them! they turn into generic units again all edited stat growth rates and even their unique pallete`s are all gone so yeah how do I avoid this problem? should i change their character ID numbers back and just only change the portrait? So maybe I can sneak my changed units into the game without it messing up. I posted a picture below as you can see Idoun who was previously Wolt before i changed him has changed from unique how i had her to generic even the growth rates are gone.
  21. I'm trying to put new trial maps into the game. I don't want to alter anything in the game, rather ADD stuff. Any pointers or tools for me?
  22. The basis of the idea is this: The game begins in Lyn's story. It goes on to Eliwood's (Or Hector's if you unlock it). You go through Eliwood's/Hector's story. The difference is, it has the support system of Awakening, with added S supports so characters can get married. The marriages affect the children's growth rates later in the game. After the ending scene, you move on to Sword of Seals. The children's stats are not affected by the parent's level, but they're growth rates are (I.E. Erk!Raigh/Lugh would have ridiculously high magic growths). Once you get done with Zephiel, sidequests appear to recruit the parents, who have the same stats that they had when you left them at the end of Blazing Sword. Changes: -Marriage system that's not completely OP like in Awakening (Canas/Dorcas can't get S supports, as they are already married. Also, Bartre x Karla is cann, so they only S support with each other). -Tactician is a character, you pick his starting class at the beginning of the game, as well as asset/flaw. -Recruit surviving parents in the SoS half. -Updated graphics, but not exactly the same as Awakening (We don't want Canas in that ridiculous Sorcerer outfit) -Voice acting. -World map, but no skirmishes. -Limited arena use for each character (A character can only get so many level ups in a certain arena). -DLC (Available for play after beating Zephiel) -Going to also add in Karla to Eliwood's story, so then Fir doesn't seem like she just came in to existence. My friend and I were speculating about a remake for FE7, and it escalated to this. What do you guys think?
  23. There is a project I've had on my mind for awhile, although being at job corps kinda restricts my time to do anything especially with KP starting next Friday for me. anyways the concepts, this would be Fe6 made on the Fe8 engine. The story would be revamped a fair bit and there would be two parties (think Fe2 or TRS) one led by Roy and the other Lilina, the cast of Fe6 would be divided between the two thereby allowing a more balanced game. Not to mention stat changes more classes, thieves would promote, Roy would promote in a reasonable time and his stats would actually be decent. All new maps with some of the originals being used Cavaliers would become like their fe9 selves aka Mono weapon. With the two teams the various split paths would both be followed. Hit rates would be much more reliable and thrones not as much of a pain. Fe5 PCC and possibly fatigue would be integrated thanks to Cam Promotion items would all be Master Seals to allow people to use their favorites more easily with promotions. Possible new prfs and prfs for non Roy people. Such as a Judgral styled Fire Sword for Roy 3x effectiveness would remain. As would Swordmaster and Zerker 30% crit and Snipers would join their ranks Archers and Healers would have a greater experience gain. Weapon ranks would be easier to up, support rates will be ridiculously high in comparison. Unsure how to divide the partied equally and make sense currently. I will make a document when I can but all I have is my phone I am writing this on currently
  24. Hey all. I've noticed that there are no editors and no documentation on editing the properties of terrain in Sacred Stones, so I've started a little project to fix that. Fortuitously, terrain data is structured identically in FE7 and FE8 - the only real difference is the location of the tables. Because of this, I have been able to simply adapt the FE7 terrain modules for my purposes. The modules here will allow you to edit the defence/avoid/resistance bonuses given by terrain, the percentage HP they regenerate each turn, and the movement point penalty that different types of units incur when crossing terrain. You can find them here: Terrain Editors Note: It is possible to edit the amount of HP regained per turn from terrain in Blazing Sword, as well. The most convenient way is to set the Terrain Stat Editor to use thirteen tables instead of six. Also also! I have ported over the Support Compatibility Editor to FE8. With this you can change how fast supports grow between characters as well as who can support with whom. Here's the link to the appropriate Nightmare files: Support Editors This was another simple one. The only difficulty was figuring out the order characters were listed in the support table...honestly, I'm not sure why this wasn't done earlier. Finally, I've ported the S-rank Bonus editor to FE8. Finding the offset of the data was kinda tricky, but not really. S-rank Editor Alternatively, you can just download all the new modules together: New FE8 Modules I also have ported the Terrain Stat editors to Fire Emblem 6, for those that are interested: Link
  25. So I repointed the Class, Character and Item tables in FE6 to 830000 (Items), A30000 (Class) and 930000 (Characters) And modified the Nightmare modules to look in those locations, changed the pointers all those lovely things. Except I've stumbled into something I don't quite understand. Some classes have had their HP inflated to 40. This didn't happen before re-pointing even after having edited it with FEditor and Nightmare. Now however Roy's HP is hitting 40, the Generic Fighters are hitting 40, and the Boss is hitting 29 for his HP. I opened up the rom in Nightmare and the stats all read exactly the same as they were in FE6. So there was nothing wrong with the way the stats were. And again this was fine before repointing and moving the class tables. Any potential ideas? STEPS: 1. Take FE6 Rom 2. locate Item, Class and Character Tables. 3. copy them to new locations. 4. Change the pointers to a new location.
