  1. So when I went to enter my character into FEditor, it cut off the side of her hair. Below are images of her in Usenti and in FEditor. I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but the hair only gets cut off after I change the Input index and go back to it. Thanks in advance!
  2. So yeah, I'm back because FEditor is confusing me. Again. My problem this time is that I have successfully inserted two portraits into an FE8 ROM, but only one of then are selectable for use in the Character Editor module for Nightmare. Even when I go back into FEditor both of the inserted portraits are there. Once again, any and all help is appreciated.
  3. I recently got into ROM hacking after watching some things from Markyjoe, and just started to use FEditor in conjunction with Nightmare. I problem I've been having with FEditor specifically is that when I use it to insert custom battle animations into my FE8 ROM (after inserting on, saving then quitting, then inserting the rest), I am completely unable to select the Animation Manager from the drop down menu. Any and all help is appreciated.

So I was editing the text Merlinus says before the battle preparation in chapter 14 and I think I overwrote some of the battle preparation data somehow, because the text where Hannah appears and tells you about the augury stopped playing, and the augury stopped being available in the battle preparation. Does anyone anyway I can fix this? I didn't backup my rom before editing the text.
  5. Hi there, as you might remember i said i would make an Idoun and a Fomortis for FE7. Here is the deal, when i just finished pasting Idouns head on her Body, and tried to make a test in Feditor, i get an error: "IllegalArgumentException That image uses too many tiles!" Is there anyway to boost Feditor for bigger images? The version i am using is 20110104.1, and another thing, is there a way to bypass the OAM overflow??. Thanks, and thats that, Idoun is a as big as in FE7, i know perfectly that she uses background, but im triying to make one for FEDITOR and to be portable. And i think there will be the same issue with Fomortis
  6. I've been working on a FE8 ROM , I changed the pointers from the class and map sprite tables and inserted map sprites the GBA Graphics Editor, I want now to work with feditor, but whenever I open the Spell Animation Inserter it crashes. :c
  7. So, I opened FEditor, added spots for the FE10 Fighter animations (Melee, Hand Axe, and Disarmed). I then put the aforementioned animations into these three extra slots. I saved this data into a junk copy of FE8, opened Nightmare2, and used the Custom Battle Animation Editor and put these animations under entry 0x8E60000, I then made this the battle animation for the Fighter class. I went into the game to see if it worked, and the game used the map screen instead of the normal battle screen. Where did I mess up, and what's the fix?

Hello everyone, today I have a bunch of questions for you. -When I browse the animations with FEditor it skips some of them, thus not allowing me to properly insert my animations. -How do I repoint animations? I want to replace the Paladin Axe animation with a Bow animation and make it play when they're using a bow. That's all for now. UPDATE: How do I edit topic names? UPDATE: Everything is fixed, thanks for the support and answers. P.S. Guess who managed to find a way too add Wind/Thunder/Fire Mages to FE7.
  9. Hello Guys, me again. Well i just got an issue with Feditor, i think i know what it was so i Need recomendations in case it cannot be fixed. Well I tried to Load an expanded ROM with Feditor, It told me that has problems loading the strams of data, the Debug, well gave me nothing. Tried To open some backups, and then found it, i just made a custom efectiveness.   10. Hello everyone. Today I tried making a Karla/Anna splice and I tried inserting it into FE7 with FEditor but nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. Help? Feel free to criticize. UPDATE:I used Usenti to decrease the colors, inserted it etc... BUT after trying to insert my Natasha recolor (With decreased colors) she...glitched out? I tried both FE7 and FE8 and I can move one of the tiles but the ones at the bottom stay there and glitch out everything.
  11. Hello guys, again, like i said in my Concepts topic im trying to make a GBA Crossover, so i Want all the Final Bosses in The last Stage :3. But now im kind of lost. Sure, i have the sprites of Idoun and Fomortis, and even if im a total newbie to animation and coding i know i can make them work if i made them...Cause i just made a Working Lust(FMA) in FE!! LOL But here are some central cuestions. The sprites of Fomortis have a black background, and the ripper said that it was the same in the OAM Viewer. Yet, if you remember when you fight Fomortis the whole screen is black, and he is Huge. Well, I know perfectly that Fomortis uses backgounds as any other GBA FINAL BOSS and the Necrodracos and Mamkutes in FE6. Now, what would happen if i just make the animation and leave the black color intact, and by making the animation i mean using the huge sprites, like it was done with FE6 Mamkute(By the way is awesome, im planning on making a transforming FE7 version like the ones circleseverywhere did). If I leave the black color in transparent...Should i "Call" a black background?Can that be done by coding the animation? Or how do i use background comands for this issue? If i do not use transparent at all, would that make the black color apear above the char that is figthing Fomortis? if i dont use transparent would that overlap the other sprite? Or, if i Try to rip the script from FE8 would that help me? What happens if i just FEeditor import the head and arm? And i think that applies to Idoun as Well, she also uses background, and i dont now if Idoun had black background in the OAM Viewer What should i Do? Do i make the animation or do i just import it and wait for it to work well?? XD Or try to import anything like the backgrounds it uses? What would be easier? Im most say that i am bad At GBAGE If i can do it ill just relase it freeuse, by now im starting with the Necrodraco, wich of course when i relase it will be free-to-use
  12. Hey! I'm new to FE Universe but not completely new to modding FE8. I'm getting this error where I can't get the Text Editor tool to open. All of the other tools open fine for most of my ROMs, but in the one i'm trying to open, I added another text entry, increasing the total number of entries from 0xD4B to 0xD4C. I understand that when FEditor Adv adds something like that it places it at the end of the ROM, (which is where I found the data, so i know it's there). Is it possible to have more than the original number of text entries in a single FE8 ROM? If so, how can I change it so I can use FEditor Adv correctly?
  13. I was trying to insert the events for a chapter (the event file itself is incomplete, but the beginning event is mostly set up). The file assembles fine, but when I try to open the ROM up in FEditor there's an error saying "There was an error processing one or more file streams". It's being inserted at the end of the ROM, so it shouldn't be overwriting anything important. So I'm not entirely sure why this is happening when the other chapters inserted just fine. Also, I can insert the map for the chapter and FEditor opens the ROM no problem, but as soon as I assemble the events for that chapter, it gives me the same error when I try to open it. The ROM itself works fine when I try to play the chapter as well (if that information matters). It also doesn't seem to matter if the events go immediately after the existing data in the ROM or X amount of space beyond it, and I made sure that only one thing was open at a time when I was editing the ROM, but the error still happens. Latest version I found were lacking some game documentation due to "long file paths", and the dropbox link that everyone loves to pass around is no longer functional.   15. well I have searched around and I can't find animations for female myrmidons for fe7, I hear you can rip them from 6 or 8 but you need to be using the admin variant of FEditor. Ff not then mixing use of the variants can cause issues. for a hacking newbie like myself this is quite daunting, could someone direct me to a female myrmidon battle sprite animation or a way of obtaining it? thanks in advance
  16. I've extracted some battle animations from FE7 to play around with. So far, so good. However, I keep running into a problem trying to re-insert the frames. FEditorAdvance.ClassAnimationCreator.loadFromScript_helper: SyntaxException Error parsing line 342: Can't add a terminator to an empty mode. I've tried a couple of different scripts. This one is Lyn's, pasted below for convenience: However, the same thing also happens with Hector, both using regular attack and hand axe, as well as a generic general. The strange thing is: Regardless of which character I'm trying to use, the error happens at the same place in the script, the ~~~ after mode 11. ...Of course, mode 11 is not actually empty: //begin Mode 11 1 p- frame000.png C01 ~~~ Nor is frame000 empty or nonexistent. This happens both when I try using my edited frames, and when turning right around and trying to re-insert the frames FEditor just spat out. ...I appear to have solved it by removing modes 2 and 4 and manually editing the piercing frames together, which confuses me even more. I'd understand if the length of Lyn's script was an issue, but Hector's, with like half as many frames, still does the same thing. I can't make any sense of it. Does anyone have any insight on this matter?
  17. First time using Nightmare and I can do class changes and chapter unit changes. But when I try and change Lyn (Tutorial) in document to Mark (Just testing.) I also use Guy's portrait and change class to myrmidon, but the name comes out as Buy. http://gyazo.com/84604827a0ed28b8a0a809adfb4aa0eb I have no idea why this happens.

  19. Hi all, Im new here. My main problem is how to ope the FEditor, doenloaded ut and extracted it, but somehow there are only documents not an actual editor. Hope anyone can help! (downloaded Nightmare and moduls as well)
