  1. WE HAVE MOVED TO THIS THREAD. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS CURRENT THREAD. ------------------------- Hello! This is the official topic for Team If's project, the Delocalization and Restoration of Lost Content of Fire Emblem: Fates (NA). Please post all questions you have relating to the patch here. A team member or fellow forum follower will try to answer your question as soon as possible. -- Planned Patch Files: - Amie Restoration: Restore face-rubbing into Fire Emblem: Fates. The blowing functionality may be lost. We may be unable to do this. IMPORTANT: It is suggested that a fresh save be used for any content restoration patch, as the game is accessing content previously unavailable, players may experience problems with their new content going to and from patched/unpatched; Also, do not use any content restorations online, this could lead to either bans from Nintendo, or you could possibly crash other player's games. -- Downloads: Patcher Swimsuits Undub [Mirror] Name Patch (WIP) Fanslation (WIP) (Error Log) Playable Chrom, Lissa, Frederick (Undub) (MEGA) (Dropbox) Playable Chrom, Lissa, Frederick (English) (MEGA) (Dropbox) Note: When using the undub patch, voice options 4 and 5 will result in a silent MU if the save is loaded unpatched. Why? Because options 4 and 5 don't exist in the localization. Note: The current name patch is only for the main story + status screen on-screen names. Why? Because supports also have to be individually recompressed. There's 1.1k support files. That's not a thing we'll do now. :) Note: The fanslation is still a WIP. Please report any errors to the error log. Note: Playable Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick is released as a .cia. This means it is cfw only, and since we can't release official DLC, this will cause all your active DLC to be deleted. This post will be updated later with more detailed instructions. -- Tutorials: EldinTokuro's HANS Tutorial: (.rtf viewer) (Plain text) thedude28's Extensive Guide: (Pastebin) (MEGA Download) masah_hiro's Guide for European Users: Link -- Team If [spoiler=Members] Members: -Administrators- Cellenseres (Coder) Linkmstr (Editor) ShadySheikah (Editor) luyairis (Translator) (former) KaliMizu (Editor) (former) -Coders- DeathChaos25 SciresM (inactive) Ahris -Translators- BrunhildeKnight PotatoPower Hitomi Iris in a Bottle (former) KentoBento Razer/Orange (former) -Editors/Testers- EldinTokuro Grinkdaboy KamiPeppers LadyLorien (former) Ranaline (former) ---- Division II: tBanzai (translator) Analog (translator) Mad (translator) Zoe (Editor) Thidran (Editor) sevii (Editor) thedude28 (Editor, Division Head) TabuthaRasa (Editor) : Forum Frequents (Not Affiliated with Team) Czar_Yoshi ---- Others who assisted us: RainThunder [spoiler=FAQ (Technical Questions)] FAQ: Q: What versions of this game will this work on? A: Look up. Q: Can I use this patch? A: Yes, you can. Depending on what firmware you're using, what you can patch differs! Q: Firmware? A: Here's the breakdown: If your firmware is at or below, 9.2, you can install a cfw (ReiNand is recommended), and use that to play our patch. As a .cia installion, online will work. If your firmware is between 9.3 and 10.3, you can either use Homebrew, or downgrade to 9.2 If your firmware is 10.4-10.6, your only choice is using Homebrew to temporarily patch your rom. Q: Homebrew? A: Homebrew is, simply a put, a hack released by smealum and others that allows us to make use of our 3DS a bit more. Homebrew comes with a "HANS" function, which will temporarily patch your ROM with our patch. Q: Can I use online with the HANS patch? A: Nope. Q: Can I use DLC with HANS? A: Not as of yet. We are not the developers of Homebrew. Q: What exactly is DLC? A: Anything that isn't on your physical cart when you load it in. Or, basically, anything you downloaded from the eshop. More to come. [spoiler=FAQ (Team If, Release Schedule, Ponies, etc)] FAQ: Q: Who are you guys? A: People who have their reasons. Q: Can I help? A: Send any active team member your Discord. You must be 18 years of age or older to join. Chat sometimes turns NSFW. Q: Are their any requirements for being on the team? A: Don't be a dumbass. Welcome aboard :). Q: Is working with you guys just work related only? A: 99% of the time we're just messing around :). Q: When's your next release? A: When we want to release it. Q: Can I donate? A: Donating is grounds for a DMCA from Nintendo, so no. Q: Do you guys like ponies? A: Absolutely. 2. During a recent replay of Conquest I noticed a familiar line from King Garon in chapter 14 after corrin had quelled to rebellion in Cheve... Garon: When I heard that your group destroyed Cheve, I couldn't have been prouder. Rebellions are like seeds. One must salt the earth before they sprout. There is a moment with similar context in the end of part 2 of Radiant Dawn with this exchange of lines Both of these actions are morally grey, and both involve eradicating a group of people to establish order and control over each said kingdom, the main difference between these events is the light each game portrays the event in. Now I'm not here just to bash Corrin and fates story because those are two very dead horses but I wanted to discuss what ways this scene could of had a better impact. After reading the script of the event in both games the purpose of the Fates version is to establish how evil and merciless Garon is compared to Corrin, and how confused and disgusted he is with Garon's method of ruling. This is further assisted by the game beforehand showing Hans enjoying the job far to much and with the annoyingly transparent dialogue from Garon immediately after the quote. It went something along the lines of "I heard you enjoyed watching the light fade from their eyes" and how such an act was "very befitting of Nohr royalty" and all that junk. While in contrast Queen Elincia's event showed her making a grey decision, she was willing to make that choice despite the involvement of killing her countrymen because she was up to task of ruling and had already displayed the ability to make those hard decisions before, like when she sacrificed Lucia and didn't release Ludveck (of course the greil mercs save her anyway). Both of those events were good for her character because despite her being a good person who hates violence and abhors death she was able to make decisions that went against what she wants. Garon on the other hand doesn't have that luxury... Given what decisions he has already made and enforced in this game up to this point telling Corrin to kill his rebelling countrymen is no surprise at all, and even with that being a thing there is still a lot of ways this scene could of been better handled. I for one don't mind Corrin's bases as a character, my only complaint is that all opposing views are treated as either wrong or just plain evil, if this scene was handled as way to show Corrin a different point of view and show the flaws in his ideals, the game would of benefited immensely from it, giving corrin the option to accept of deny that decision while either seeing his own way thinking being to flawed to continue, or to accept the flaws in his ideals and keep striving for them regardless. The tldr of this is that Elincia made an interesting decision, one that contrasted with her character, while Garon under the same context made a forgettable one. One situation is morally grey, while the other is black and white. So my last question is how would scenes differ in Fates if it were handled in the grey area rather than black and white. What scenes would have a different impact?
  3. Since all the Fire Emblem games in the Nintendo 3DS systems are rated T for Teen by ERSB in North America. I know that in Japan that Awakening is rated B by CERO while Fates was bumped to C by CERO and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia went back to CERO B. I'm just kinda cerious if anyone exactly knows how the CERO rating system works and what did Fates received a CERO C instead of CERO B? I know that CERO C is rated 15 and up while CERO B is rated 12 and up in Japan while we don't exactly have a ERSB rating around 15 and up between T for Teen (13 and up) and M for Mature (17 and up) in North America. Since I kinda looked at some plot stuff and content showed in Fates that pretty much did not have in Awakening nor Echoes: Shadows of Valentia that might have gotten bumped to CERO C. Would these type of stuff appeared in Fates might have bumped to CERO C?: or was it something else that might have got Fates bumped to CERO C?
  4. i have no idea if i have posted this in the right forum anyway, i'm trying the gay fates and want to rebuild a cia file with all paralogues unlock. i have no idea how to patch it to gamedata.bin I'm asking if anyone of you have the gamedata.bin.lz with gay fates + all paralogues unlock thank you!
  5. I have tirelessly searched through so many castles and all I just want is some offensive skills for my daughter in-game Soleil (decided to marry Laslow cause he best cute boi) but none of the castles that I have searched through have the offensive skills that I’m trying to comb through to get. My main priorities regarding getting Soleil skills are Aptitude and Lucky 7 cause I want her to be an absolute great lord spd demon since my MU is +Str. If anyone who still plays Fates nowadays has a castle that I can access without having to grind tirelessly to get the skills that are my main priorties, that would be heavily appreciated. In exchange, I will share my Rev castle code and all of my units are gen 1 characters, but they have some interesting skills that I acquired through other player s’s My Castles. The castle code for my Rev castle is 12978-39237-09749-52177. Castle name is Abyss Depths Region is NA Minerals and Resources: Meat, Peaches, Emeralds, Corals Units on Castle Defense Roster: MU: Nohrian Trust, Draco Hex, Death Blow, Astra, Dragon Fang Laslow: Lethality, Rend heaven, Astra, Aptitude (Dancing Blade is DLC-exclusive only fyi) Ryoma: Dragon Fang, ShurikenBreaker, Aptitude, Death Blow, Astra Azura: Aptitude, Dragon Fang, Renewal, Astra, Inspiring Song Sakura: Counter, Replicate, Renewal, Amaterasu, Aptitude. Takumi: Astra, Death Blow, Rend Heaven, Sol, Astra Camilia: Bowbreaker, Aptitude, Death Blow, Dragon Fang, Sol Slias: Lethality, Sol, Death Blow, Rend heaven, Defender Hinoka: Aptitude, Luna, Bowbreaker, Death Blow, Lancefaire. Kaze: Rend Heaven, Luna, Lethality, Aptitude (Clarity is also DLC-exclusive). All units are on hold, no dusk dragon or litih, also no golems or automatons and it is easy seize I believe. Might change the rotation of the 1st gen characters on the Castle defense roster to gen 2 once I have done all paralogues to make a castle roster full of children skills at the very least Friday, just a heads up to those that want these skills for the units listed above in exchange for giving me a Soleil aptitude and Death Blow if they have one. Keep on Fire embleming!
  6. I have gone through millions of calling cards from my certain My castle peeps but none of them sadly have the one skill that I desperately need for Shigure, later on in the Conquest chapters when I am planning to use him with F!Kana, against bow flyers and snipers in general. I’ve also scouted through the various forums on here to try and see if any of the My castle address have any Bowbreaker skills for Shigure but to no luck. If anyone that still plays Fates nowadays has a Shigure with a Bowbreaker, I will forever be in your debt and in exchange you can get the best kind of defensive and offensive type of skills from my 2 different Fates My Castles. Also a Nina with any counter based skill or offensive based skill is also fine (same with Shigure, if Bowbreaker isn’t available, I can always settle for Aegis as a second option). Please and Thank you. Edit: Also I’m in NA and I forgot there is region-locking in this game, so any NA castles that have Shigure with Bowbreaker is what I need. First Castle information: Chosen Path: Nohr Avatar Name: Liam Castle Name: Imperial Gate Castle address: 12978-39237-09749-52177 Units on deck: MU: Grisly Wound, Letahlity, Draconic Hex, Nohrian Trust Azura: Pavise, Aptitude, Rend heaven (also have aegis and Astra if needed) Niles: Luna, Swordbreaker, Bowfaire, Lucky 7 Elise: Live to Serve, Amaterasu, Renewal, Aptitude (also have rally strength) Odin: Lifetaker, Rend heaven, Aptitude, Astra, Death Blow Camilia: Death Blow, Sol, Bowbreaker, Dragon fang, Vantage Selena: Counter, Dragon Fang, Astra, Rend heaven, Death Blow Kaze: Luna, Lethality, Astra, Lethaility Effie: Lancefiare, Armoured Blow, Wary Fighter Second castle Information: Chosen path: Valla Avatar name: Nacrina Castle name: Abyss Depths Castle address: Same as first castle Units on deck: MU: Lethality, Astra, Draconic hex, Nohrian Trust, Azura: Pavise, Aptitude, Vantage Jakob: Luna Subaki: Bowbreaker, Death Blow, Lifetaker, Rend heaven Takumi: Aptitude, Quixotic, Astra, Rend heaven, Death Blow Sakura; Counter, Renewal, Aptitude, Miracle, Rally lck Hana: Luna, Aptitude, Sol Kaze: Aptitude, Luna, Lethality Units I have that are available upon request: Hayato: Pavise, Aegis, Tomefaire, Rally magic Hinata: Warding Blow, Renewal, Lancebreaker
  7. Basically what happens when the likes of Mortis Ghost and Claude Higgins get their hands on Fire Emblem Fates. So this is a fangame, done in RPG Maker XP, so it will not have the same mechanics as Fire Emblem Fates. In fact, it will have very similar mechanics to OFF by Mortis Ghost (along with its own fangames, including UNKNOWN). But it is based off Fire Emblem Fates and pretty well 99% of the content is Fire Emblem Fates, even if portrayed differently (e.g. not the official resources). Okay so what happens is there is a Revelation timeline, created over a Conquest timeline but then Conquest tries to take over (hence the creepypasta-esque name Conquest.exe) and a huge struggle ensues. Like UNKNOWN, there will be multiple endings, based on the player's actions and the methods to get them will be secret (meaning the game itself won't give you hints, you'll have to find out for yourself or ask others how to get all the endings). It's going to be incredibly dark and stuff. It centres around the Avatar and her (headcanon) married family - Ryoma, Kana and Shiro and their determination to keep the timeline stable and protect it from characters from the Conquest timeline (but of course the other characters from the Rev. timeline will be assisting). Then along comes a Puppeteer... The Puppeteer decides to help the Rev!Characters out (if you don't want to help them out, then don't play at all, it's that simple) but evil ensues. So yeah, take care out there, my friends, and- YXZvaWQgc2VwcHVrdQ==
  8. Sadly no pictures because quality reasons Well, I've encountered a total of 3 hackers on online matches. These were the hacks they did: 1.) Changing everyone's Mov to 20. I don't even think it is possible to get over 11, let alone 20! The thing that really made me surrender was the warp skill that EVERYONE had. It basically made it so they could move wherever they wanted in a short amount of time. They also had replicate but that's different. 2.) Takumi with Point Blank. I don't know if it is DLC in Japan but I know it is impossible to get in America at the moment. 3.) All Stats at 70 without pairing or skills. Most of the skills that their units had were the skills that can be activated or aren't active at the start of the game. These type of units are basically invisible. It is possible to get a hit or two on them but that is mainly it. Post some of the hackers you have encountered and/or the ones to look out for. Thankfully there is no punishment in online battles but it is very annoying to see someone just hack there way through battles. Here's some pictures of Fates Hackers that I found on the internet. Thank you!
  9. I've been using the Paragon Editor for Fates and I'm trying to figure out what needs to be fiddled with to make non capturable units capturable (Eg Kotaru and Kilma). As far as I can see there's no major differences between Kotaru's information on the chapter editor compared to say Kumagera's or Funke's (who are both capturable).
  10. So I've been a long time lurker on this forum since Fates first came out. I played the hell out of Awakening and Fates during my first couple years of college but I was either playing on casual or resetting on unit deaths. I always considered ironmaning a game but never really had the drive to, but with a couple FE youtubers lately have been streaming iron man runs and I figured I might as well give it a shot. I decided on running Fire Emblem Fates Birthright on Lunatic mode since it was the game I had the most experience with, it's a little easier, and I plan on running Conquest on Lunatic soonish and I figure it will get me familiar with the systems in general. After a couple failed runs due to my negligence with my Corrin, tonight i was able to knock out the last couple chapters and have my first Iron man under my belt. This has been one of the top gaming experiences i have ever had. While ironmaning Birthright might not seem like much to some people on account of the game's general lack of difficulty, it really pushed me to my limits. as a more casual Fe player it was really rewarding unlearning a lot of the more lazy ( I hope that's not too harsh a word) habits I usually employ when playing. there was this back in forth with most chapters where I either needed to be really aggressive, defensive or mostly some sweet mix of the two. I ended up losing about 9 or so units through out the course of this run and I got to say, there's this weird sensation I got with every death; like the guilt and frustration was there, but there was this feeling of excitement as I got to play around with the units I had to fill the hole. I definitely got a new appreciation for a lot of Fates' systems. A few thoughts/highlight's in no particular order: Ryoma is a monster of a man and probably saved this run. It's been said a hundred times, but Ryoma is such an amazing unit and there is weird comfort in knowing that if Ryoma goes into a hallway filled with enemies, he's gonna hold the line no problem. It's great to have a dodge tank that actually dodges. Alongside Ryoma, I got to give props to Saizo, his right hand man. I lost Kaze very early and later Kagero in the mid game and this dude pulled his weight and then some. Ninja's are a weird thing in fates since they suck when your fighting them, but they are so powerful in your hands and they can really turn the tide. Saizo had insane level ups and between him and his son (with hinoka as his the little guy was hitting like a train) it definitely solidified the importance of ninja's in my mind. another class that has moved up a lot in my book is the spear fighters. I mean they were always useful in the lower difficulties but swap utility is something else on lunatic. There were a lot of times that I was able to get a necessary kill or heal in because I got a swap conga line going. I ended up having three with me through most of the end game and I was glad I did. I really hope that they continue to implement movement abilities in future games, they add a much needed and honestly fun layer to the typical player phase ballroom blitz. I ended up losing Azura rather early in the game and dude did that make things more interesting. Losing a dancer is always a blow but fates is basically built around Azura being there. Despite all the difficulty of not allowing Ryoma or Corrin to attack twice in one round, losing her made me appreciate my other units a lot more. not being able to rely on having one of my powerhouses to get a second turn was a huge wake up call and really allowed a lot of otherwise meager units to really shine and contribute. I definitely plan on keeping her alive through through Lunatic, but it was a unique moment that reverberated through out the late game. Staff utility made so much of a difference. On Lunatic the enemies have such a massive amount of stats that I found myself really relying on those late game staves. Hexing, Silence, and Rescue staffs honestly won me this run on multiple occasions. The only reason I was able to one round dragon Garon and not lose half my units was because I hexing rodded (Is that even a verb?) him Much like movement abilities, I didn't see there utility until Lunatic but now I can't imagine playing with out them. Last but not least is the most surprising and odd takeaway from this run, on of my new favorite units: Reina. She wasn't the most powerful or useful unit on me team. Honestly I ended up benching her quite often. But throughout this run I ended up losing a lot of my go to units (Kaze, Rinkah, Kagero, Silas) and Reina just fit in in a lot of weird ways. She wasn't a power house by any means, but she came in clutch in a lot chapters. Not in a crucial way like save Corrin or preventing a game over scenario, but defintley made things easier. Be it allowing one of my other units to reach across the map to cinch a kill, dodging every single enemy archer that took aim at her, or getting the most unexpected but beneficial crits on this run. she didn't do everything, she doesn't have as much fire power as other heavy hitters and there were more than a few chapters when she was just sitting around, but she has come out of this run alive and one of my new favorite units. If you ever have an empty slot in one of your runs defintley consider using her, she'll surprise you. So yeah, those are my thoughts on my first Iron man. A little long and self indulgent, but hey what's the internet for if we can't gush about the nerdy shit we enjoy? big thanks to the community for bringing this fun way to play to my attention, Looking forward to Lunatic Conquest run in a couple weeks after I take a much needed break from Fates. Take care all and stay safe out there!
  11. Hi all, A little while back (can't really remember how long since time has lost all meaning thanks to this pandemic haha) I posted here mentioning that I had just finished my first ironman run on birthright lunatic. I said then that I wanted to take a quick break before really diving into the monster that is conquest. I lied. Sorta. You see I decided to give the first couple chapters a go since I was in the mood for more and wanted to gauge juts how much I was dealing with. I lost track of how many failed runs I had, but eventually I got burned out and realized some time away would be best. Fast forward to today when I decided that it was about time to give it another go. The first couple chapters went by pretty smoothly, I ended up reclassing Odin as a joke to samurai, even got through chapter nine with only like 6 uses on my heal staff. Then comes chapter 10. now I tend to go for Takumi with corrin/camilla when I played in easier difficulties and since this was seeming to be a bit of a joke run I ended up going for it again. to my surprise I actually managed to down him, but not before he took my corrin to 1 hp! The rest of the map was still rather tense but I did manage to get all the houses and only lost beruka early do to missing a 95% hit, but hey that's fates for ya! All this to say this run is looking to be a lot of fun. I know I got a lot worse ahead of me, but I'm at least glad this run has proven to be more entertaining and exciting than it has frustrating. Wish me luck!
  12. For those who've heard of GenocIke... I present to you... GenocIke and Ryoma! In this story of sorts, Ryoma has gone insane from too many Conquest timelines and being forced to kill himself over and over again. Then he finds the infamous GenocIke... The story so far: Panels 1-9: Panels 10-21: Panels 22 - 30 (Mild Blood Warning): Panels 31 - 40 (Mild Gore Warning): Panels 41-50: Panels 51-61: Panels 62-70 Panels 71-80 Panels 81-90: Panels 91-100: Panels 101 - 110 More coming eventually... Also, not only will I regularly update this with more of Ryoma's maddness, but I shall also allow you to make suggestions of any panels you want to add. Just tell me: 1. The character(s) you want in the panel. 2. What they say 3. The expression when they say it (optional) 4. Location (optional) 5. Optional things that are happening (i.e. someone being stabbed) and I can get it done using little more than the conversation generator and Paint.net.
  13. Now be warned, lots of bad words ad i didn't poof read any of this at all. I stopped writing at chapter 24, but i can give a basic run down of the unwritten chapters. Chapter 24 I used the captured bow units a suicide units to give my main units and free passing. Mozu stayed back and cleaned house with the reinforcements. Chapter 25 My Corrin was too weak, so I actually had to play the god awful map. How did i deal with the spy peeps? Freeze then entrap. Chapter 26 to end endgame. This is where i switch to easy just to get the game over with, i could have beat it on hard, but life. So it was just a normal everyday Xender day. (I count beating chapter 25 With only bow units as beating the game.) Anyway i just wanted to show you this because I love you guys. Fe Conquest Bow classis only.docx
  14. I think fondly of you and our days in Askr, my darling Takumi. We fought many battles together against Embla, Múspell, even the realm of the dead. We promised to look after each other, but it wasn't long until we promised something else too. Remembering the day I became your wife makes me smile. You looked so adorable standing in front of Prince Alfonse with the Askran sun on your precious face. My knees still buckle when I think of how strong and determined you sounded when we took our vows. It was the happiest day of my life. But happiness is fleeting; life in Nohr teaches you that quickly. When I was with you, I could forget. Then the day came when Askr's wars ended, and we had to return to our world and the war waiting for us. Darling, your words follow me everywhere. "I'll find you again. I promise you, Camilla, we will find each other again, and if our families won't accept us, we'll run away together." The way you said my name and squeezed my hands made me want to believe it was possible, that we could have a life, a home, and perhaps even a beautiful family. I couldn't do anything that day except smile and nod, even though I knew it would never be more than a dream. We sealed that vow with a kiss, just like when we pledged to love, honor, and cherish each other, "until death do us part." And it was a promise I wish we'd never made, because nothing will allow me to break it. Oh, my love, I miss you. My heart aches for you, Takumi. I clutch my ring against my chest and wish it was you I held. If I could fly to you, I would climb on my wyvern's back right this minute. There's no place I would rather be than with you again, but now, aboard a ship bound for Hoshido, a ship carrying the vanguard of the Nohrian army, I'd rather plunge a knife through my heart than keep our vow. I've spent so many nights searching for a way to break it. Attacking her birth family weighs heavily on poor Corrin; it's in her eyes. Leading this invasion is the last thing she wants, and Xander is weary of this war already. But I can't appeal to them to stop this. Corrin says we must conquer Hoshido for the future of Nohr. As for my brother, he'd order an entire company of his best troops into the Bottomless Canyon if he thought it would please Father and bring back the man he was. For that matter, I can't risk word reaching Garon's ear that I oppose this war. Make no mistake, I am no coward. I'd march right into his throne room and tell him I won't have anything more to do with his madness. For you, my love, I'd risk anything: life in chains, torture, or even death. But I wouldn't be the only one to suffer. Xander could manage, but how could I leave Leo, Elise, and my sweet Corrin alone? Besides, even if I simply threw myself into the sea—and I've considered it—nothing would spare you. Hoshido will still fall, and while the thought of finding you again breaks my heart, the fate that awaits you is enough to freeze my blood. You don't know what I've seen, the terrible things Garon allows. The thought of you dying cold and alone in some Nohrian dungeon or butchered at the hands of men like Hans is too horrible for me to imagine. I won't abandon you to that fate. I don't know if my heart can bear it, but for your sake, I'll find you again. I wipe away my tears; you shouldn't see me cry when we meet. Do not fear, my love; it will be quick. I'll hold you close, let you rest your head in my lap one more time, and comfort you until the end. I'll see you're buried with all the honor my husband deserves, not kept like some gruesome war trophy. Then, my darling Takumi, we will find each other on the other side of this world, and no one will ever keep us apart again. That is one vow even fate won't stop me from keeping.
  15. Hi, Like the title says, I wonder what is the general preference of players and your individual preference between defense stacking units without good HP and units with less but still decent def who can be called HP bags? As an example, we could compare Rinkah, Hinata, Effie and Arhtur and the value of stat boosters on them to patch their weak trait and make them your most valuable early frontliners (Silas seems out of this league since he has neither good HP nohr good defense at base and stays middling in both unless RNG blessed or Revelations!Silas but he's a completely different unit with stats nearly comparable with royal heirs so he's out). Votes have already started so I add this: it would really be nice if you commented on the reasoning behind your choice (strategy, tactics, use of the units, how good is def/res vs hp and why you would prefer one over the other, especially in Fates where HP is a very limited ressource, damage is high and seraph robe is shit but made up for with tonics, meanwhile dragonshield stays the same and can be topped with tonics too).
  16. Hi, I've felt like Fates dumps everything on skills instead of stats and for me that's part of what makes its' gameplay so annoying. Either you have an awesome class with good skills or you have a class with bad skills and all you can do is get out ASAP otherwise you're making the game harder on yourself (like oni skills are quite niche, have very little utility, and even though I used it often in RD, I feel like the movement-related skills like shove are not really useful in this one, maybe because all I can put on the frontlines is the bulkiest units since everyone dies in 2 hits except them, which means I don't really need to move people around and shelter is there if needed). So I've thought of trying to play the game with absolutely no skills (sadly it's impossible to get rid of personal skills, so 0 skills outside personals since we can't do anything about them...). If anyone is interested in this, don't hesitate to post here your thoughts about it (is it funny? challenging? does it change several units' viability? I already think of archers who are simply mediocre without quick draw and Setsuna would greatly suffer from that for sure). Also, do you find it funnier with- or without skills? I'm gonna try it in BR, I don't think it would be funny at all in CQ where it's already annoying with skills. *RANT AHEAD DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW MY THOUGHTS ABOUT DEBUFFS, THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE FE FRANCHISE SINCE 3DS AND MY BROKEN 3DS: Ennemies spamming poison strike, seal def/spd and steel shurikens is really unfun (for me at least), I'd rather give ninjas and myrmidons a little more damage and delete seals and stat debuffs if I were allowed to. On paper it was a good idea...in game it's awful when your Effie who's supposed to be a tank shows single digit def because of a gimmick they added like "hahaha that's so funny to have no defense left in a game where ennemies hit like trucks, have 3-10x more units deloyed than you each chapter and don't even hit your unit if they can't damage it, making the only real tanks in the game nearly useless just because we could do it! hahaha have fun with this troll game!"... Please kill Intelligent systems and replace them with actual humans. And then we have ennemies with freeze, entrap and hex rods... Yeah, fire Intelligent systems, please... they're complete trolls... I don't even want to play 3H with the directions taken in the 3DS games and the whole Hogwarts bullshit. If I want that I go play Harry Potter and that's it. On top of that it means I don't have to buy the Switch, since my 3DS broke in half and the screen can separate from the main part at any moment if I don't hold it tight (FML), which means I'll have to buy a New 3ds to also be able to play Xenoblade...cash cow, here you are! END OF RANT* So, I really want to play like the old days before everyone had 2-6 skills and before you had to check every ennemy skill and your own to calculate how much damage you'd take, and forget to count attack stance ennemies, their skills and you don't even know who they will attack with...yeah, this game went too far for me, tooooooooooooo faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar, so faaaaaaaaaar that I usually take a strong champion from another castle and spam gold DLC to buy the skill build I want to use as much as I can. I'm probably bad at this game, but I don't want to play in normal mode, it is so much easier that some chapters feel like a Pet Shop game.
  17. My Birthright cartridge will just give me an error message whenever I try to progress through a map at random moments. I've already eliminated other things that could cause an error (different SD card didn't help, different 3DS didn't, other games work just fine, cleaning cartridge didn't work, praying, slamming it, stomping it, and cursing it have all failed). If I buy a new cartridge, will the games I've purchased through the "Explore Fates" option still be accessible with the new cartridge or am I just fucked out of more money?
  18. I started out the only maid and butler challenge in conquest but I don’t know any others after I beat the challenge I’m already doing. It can be from any fe game from the 3ds era( Awakening, fates, Echoes Shadow of Valentia$ I really want to do a challenge because I beat them and I want something to do in my free time.
  19. I completed a one unit run in fates: birthright. I used Hana and I actually really enjoyed it. I was only challenged on the last chapter with the final boss( dragon Garon) But was able to beat him with no resets. It also changed my mind on Hana and honestly I think she is a bit better at than Ryoma. Stats: str:31 mag:12 skill:33 spd:37lck: 31 def:24 res:33 hit:53 crit:24 hit:165 avo:102 Lvl 23 Class: Swordmaster I want to do another solo run but I’m not sure which character I should use or what game. Let me know what you think.
  20. So I just beat chapter 10 and I’m starting to make Kaze A with Corrin. My Hinoka is lvl ten and I’m thinking of making her a kinshi night to learn the lvl 5 skill then make her a spear master. I made my Hanna a Swordmaster and will eventually make her learn miracle. After I use it on Hinoka I don’t know if I should use my last master seal on Corrin, Oboro, Hinata. Or I should save it for either Azama or Sakura, and I’m planning on making Takumi a ballistican but I would change my mind easily. Then I had a strange idea to make a Ryoma use the vanguard down seal lol. Is that even a good idea. Anyways I’m open for feedback so please share any of your thoughts.
  21. ( This topic will be updated everyday) I’ll now be posting some of my birthright gameplay for now and please send feedback about anything I should fix in it. Sofar I’m at chapter 9 and nobodies master sealed but my hayato is a grandmaster. I did that to hayato so he can be a pair up boy sort of. I have the two master seals and the heart seal you get at the beginning and never used them. I got the sighting lens from the DLC. I also have the 1st map for the DLC so I can to the first wave of them. So this I will be doing for now on and please tell me what I should do for this account. If I’m good where I am for now or I should change something please tell me. should I also make Azura a kinshi knight Birthright journey part 2 I beat chapter 10 And I made my Hinoka a kinshi knight and Hanna as a Swordmaster. I Made Hinoka a Kinshi so she can learn the lvl 5 skill and then I’m making her a sphere master so she can get S in Lance. Hanna I’m probably going to make her a priestess so she can learn miracle and later counter magic. Kaze is starting to get to A with Corrin and I might make Kaze and Corrin marry. I also made Sakura a falcon knight because I feel like she is way better in that than a priestess but I’ll change her back to learn renewal so she gets a 40% Hp increase. I made her a Falcon in my revelation play through and I might do that with Sakura for now on. I also might make her a kinshi to learn Amaterasu to be a better support unit.
  22. Hi, I wanted to talk about challenge runs, but any of them in any FE game. I had the idea of GBA/3DS FE without using supply and trading only during the chapters (no battle prep trading), maybe even no armory in battle preps (completely skip prep), maybe no supports along that (I never really used supports in FE and never needed them so far before FE 13 and the pair up mechanic showed up, only to buff Colm/Neimi and sometimes Eirika, most of the time I didn't even click "support"). I think a run with the weakest available (repairable/buyable) weapons would be funny depending on the game (well that's basically how I play FE8 most of the time ^^ with iron, fire, light and flux except for endgame bosses with high def/res and hp who hit like a crashing plane in your face with 120-150 accuracy ouch). Swapping roles (physical units with magic and magical weapons, magical unit with physical weapons). No mobility (playing with 4 movement on everyone like you have an army of knights). No 1-2 range weapon (or use it like you use a 1 range or 2 range, no javelin/throwing axe ennemy phase army). Swords/Bows/Magic only run (Laguz/shapeshifters only run with only the necessary non shapeshifter stuff like Ike to defeat Burger King's terrible plan to raise obesity in the whole world, and you play some Amazonian tribe resisting the empire of Burger King and its' fat church leaders wth their panther transformation XD). Only the less accurate weapons run. Devil axe run (might need to hack an unbreakable devil axe though). This would be a hardcore Nuzlock challenge. Only poison weapons. Only effective weapons. Only the lowest level units available, maintain an average level (lol you can't even promote then). Only lowest speed/luck/strength/def/res/mag/hp...units. (funny to see a team of Arthur-like units get (nuz)locked out of the PT by a random crit: "Hi Knoll how's it goin'?" "Got crit killed by the first ennemy I fought, I should have instantly promoted to summoner and spam summons till I hit 20..." "Sad story bro, see you in the next PMU since no one plays you without farming"). Your ideas?
  23. Now here me out on this one guys! I acknowledge that Camilla is Haar: Conquest Edition, but Elise has potential to be on her level overall in terms of utility. I’ve been replaying Conquest recently and found myself thinking that Cam and Elise are comparable in terms of power level; albeit that they fulfill two entirely different roles, they are both overwhelmingly the best at them and are both available for most of the Conquest route. What do you guys think?
  24. Who do you pair Azura with? I paired her with Kaze since my avatar married Sakura in Birthright, and with Silas, since in Conquest my avatar married Camilla, but in Revelation, the pairing I chose for Azura, is Kaze.
  25. In C.S. Lewis' a Horse and His Boy, by some funny twist of fate, the main character, Shasta is revealed to be none other than Prince Corin, the lost heir to the throne of the kingdom of Archenland who was kidnapped as a baby (Sounds awfully familiar?) prophesied to save his Kingdom from a disaster (Also sounds familiar), neighboring kingdom of Narnia. Ignore the fact that the spelling is of Corrin is slightly different and suddenly... a new path in Fire Emblem Fates opens up with Corrin saying, screw the plot of this game, I want to go to a magical land with talking animals and magical creatures and a better written plot! New Units become unlocked Aslan-He would undoubtably be a Gotoh. Peter- (Would this guy be anything but a Hero with that crazy sword of his?) Edmumd- Master of Arms (He doesn't have any real distinguished weapon in story but demonstrates a lot of profiency in combat) Lucy- Troubadour (Promotes to Maid because in-story she has a dagger) Susan-Archer (Her signature weapon is a bow afterall) Twin Brother Cor- I mean he's an identical twin so... Aravis-Bride (She is stuck in an arranged marriage in story) Lasaraleen-Minor character with a memorable personality but since she is shown to clearly not be cut out for combat... Shrine Maiden?) Bree and Hwin (Talking horses totally add a whole new layer to combat don't you think?) When lions roar, a child drifts ashore. A scorned lover declares unjust war. Ride away to be set free from life of slavery! Sing with me a song of fantastic beasts and magic and delicious feasts (No seriously the number of times meals are described in meticulous and mouthwatering detail in this book warrents this lyric) Coherent engaging plot with consistent tone Lost in thoughts all alone. Will you side with Archenland/Narnia?
