  1. Hi all! Two years ago, I started a series on YouTube where I counted down my Top 5 S-Supports for each individual character in Fire Emblem Awakening. Now, I'm finally doing the same for Fates, and I wanted to share them on here because I was hoping to get some feedback! I'm trying to do one a week, so as of today, there are two videos; one for Male Corrin and one for Female Corrin, and I'm already working on Azura for next week. Here are links to the videos: Male Corrin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBwwlcjyeAM&list=PLHmEgg9ci_8C0nYRclN7hIn0qlffGedF5&index=1 Female Corrin:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5UUlR0Leck&list=PLHmEgg9ci_8C0nYRclN7hIn0qlffGedF5&index=2 What are some of your favorite S-Supports for these or any other character in Fates?
  2. This idea came to me when I was playing Awakening. I wanted to use my archer, but I didn't like how even though being on the offensive with him wouldn't allow the enemy to retaliate because once it was the enemies phase, he'd be a sitting duck and wouldn't even be that much help if it's just one enemy, he'd just be there. I wished that my archer could just somehow defend himself against the enemies that go into close quarters (single square) space, and that's when I thought of this; ironically, it wasn't firing bullets, but bayonet usage that made me think of maybe using a gunman as a class in Fire Emblem. Specifically, I think a Musketeer would be the name for the base class, and Rifleman could be the name for the advanced class. Some of you may think this may not work too well in a fantasy setting, but that's not true; in some "Sword & Sorcery" worlds, gunpowder weaponry exists along with swords, bows, magic, etc. A great example of this is Legend of Zelda. Anyway, here's how I think a Musketeer class would be: their design would be a round hat with a feather, puffy renaissance/late medievalish sleeves, and a big/long shirt with a nation's crest on it, sort of like this:
  3. Alright, so i remember ShadowofChaos doing some sort of video about using a QR code to apply a code to your game. For Example, The one i'm curious about is the code that gives all active units all skills. If you do it while in the overworld map, all of the characters you recruited will have access to all skills + the lunatic+ skills. Sadly, I believe that you have to be in the 9.X firmware otherwise it won't work. My question is, has it been updated at all, preferably to the 11.3.0-36 firmware? I haven't updated my 3ds in a long time because I've been having trouble figuring out how to install homebrew and the other stuff to extract my fates save to do things with it. Any help here would be much appreciated.
  4. So yeah. I guess the trailer really is complete now. Also Tiki's British accent is cute.
  5. (This is for those who have finished or are doing a randomized run of Fe7) This is the first forum I started, so it might be kind of rough, but stick with me. So anyways, the way you do the logs is you say the chapter your on (please State if your on Hector or Eliwood mode. It might get kinda confusing other wise), the units your using and there classes and growth rates. For the units your not using, State there class and why your not using them wether it be you just dislike them, they have a bad growth rate, or something else. I'll do a log of my progress as an example: Current Chapter: Chapter 3 Units I'm using: Lyn (Mage): Growth rates are 10% Hp, 80% mag, 30% skl, 90% spd, 115% luck, 5% def and res Kent (Hector Lord): Growth rates are 65% Hp, 75% str, 40% skl, 30% spd, 10% luck, 70% def,5% res Sain (Thief): Growths are 5% hp, 60% str, 45% skl, 20% spd, 100% luck, 30% def, 35% res Florina (Dancer): Growths are 75% hp, 5% str/mag, 20% skl, 80% spd, 20% luck, 45% def, 65% res Units I'm not using: Wil: Everyone of his growths except spd, def and res are 15% and under Dorcas: Has a 5% in every growth rate except for str, skl, spd, and luck.
  6. So I love Fire Emblem as most people here do. I honestly love everything about it. But I know myself to an extent and probably others are getting tired of the exact same format of the turn based rpg with RNG this series is founded on. That got me thinking, there's another strategy rpg out there I love, and it's Valkyria Chronicles. So the idea is we combine them, or rather we make Fire Emblem in the style of Valkyria Chronicles in terms of gameplay and perhaps story. Background information. So I'm assuming most people haven't played Valkyria Chronicles. So the game is similar to Fire Emblem at first glance, it's a turn-based rpg where you move units across the map with units of different classes. This is where the glance ends. What makes Valkyria unique and enjoyable is the ability to free roam whenever you select that unit and perform an action any time, whether it be attack an enemy, heal, or that's really it. The movement is set for each class with a Action Gauge filled with Action Points (AP). Enemies also fire on you (depending on the class) as you move which makes postioning and reaction time key. Another thing is that before an action, the game pauses to an extent, every other unit is paused, but your unit can freely swap between weapons and items while aiming, which is another part of this game, besides healing and repairing terrain, nothing is guaranteed immediately, every attack has a chance to miss and the enemies (and your units) have the chance to dodge attacks. It also has a unique cover system which increases defense when crouching or crawling. Terrain is also interractible with cover being destroyed or rebuilt. Units can die in Valkyria as well, though specific criteria has to be met for them to die (get koed, and then captured by an enemy or are not rescued within 3 turns) with specific criteria there for if your lord dies or you turn out or other objectives are not met which will cause game overs. Also basically you have x amount of Command points a turn, which one CP equals one movement for a unit, 2 if it's a tank (don't think this would be incorporated into Fire Emblem unless a Manakete or something), and then your lord/leader can give various commands to all allies or specific ones, like all units gain defense at the cost of 2 cp or heal this one unit for one cp. There is also battle commands like Sniper support, which could be incorporated as well, also this commands are limited to 1 of each type per turn (so you can do all defense up but then no specific defense up). So basically Valkyria Chronicles is very similar to Fire Emblem but with a unique twist that makes it its own thing. So how do I think this would work? Well I feel like enemy counterattacking as you move would not be incorporated, however I feel like positioning units in the style of the Action Gauge would work well, though once a unit acts they shouldn't be able to do anything else, with the exception of specific skills, which Valkyria has under potentials, which are class skills learned by leveling up and in units performance in battle, they learn their own specific potential, which can be extremely good or something out of the garbage bin (looking at you Humanitarian). A example would be Pegasus Knights with Galeforce (which would reset their movement to max and give them another action, but limited to once per turn). This brings me to the next point, classes. So Valyria Chronicles 1 only has 5 classes, but that's fine since they serve different roles due to the different setting. But using Fire Emblem's classes we can have Knights be the tanks or possibly specifically be the anti-beast unit but have terrible aim against other enemies, beast units could be very powerful units that resist all normal means of attack, but could be nerfed by their weakness to knights or if there is CP in this game (which I hope not as every unit should be able to move) they would cost more CP, next have Pegasus Knights be high moving but low damage classes (still weak to bows), Bows basically serving as snipers, clerics and dancers could serve the support role like the engineer in Valkyria, being the best at healing allies and giving slight buffs to allies and possibly terrain reconstruction, mages could serve as a middle ground between foot soldier and archers, able to attack at medium range to close range but having similar defenses to the archer, units such as Cavalier would have less movement then pegasus knights, but more firepower and longetivity, with Mercenaries being very similar but on foot (so lower movement) but the ability to going into buildings or other tight areas like Forests. In which terrain could very well affect accuracy and damage like Valkyria, But I feel like the chance of you missing would work well in combat given Fire Emblem is a series based on RNG. A thing I like about Valkyria is that all units of a class level up at the same time meaning all Mages will go from 1-2 at the same time, this is done through the training grounds with BEXP given as map cleared rewards (alongside gold, which can go into "buying" researching weapons from the armory) of which it should vary based on turn count, units defeated, units lost/koed, and other objectives completed (but make it balanced so scouts aren't the only class worth using due to base rushing). The lord would be very crucial on the battlefield if they were able to passively buff allies or do other things (arrow volley perhaps, catapult support?) at the cost of their turn, making it high risk or high reward with a depth of strategy (also could have dancers do the buffing orders while the lord gives combat orders). We could also see more detail in the world like in castles or in towns. Story wise mix-in Fire Emblem with the bit of depth we have in Valkyria Chronicles, as the plot basically is WW2 Fire Emblem with quite a few changes. Also possibly linking this all together is the fact that Laura Bailey, the former voice of Lucina, and who basically defines Lucina's voice in the hearts of many, also voiced a major character in Valkyria Chronicles 1, and also voiced any lines said by that character in any other games that character appears in So I basically made this to share my idea. I think it could work and would be refreshing, but what's your opinions? Do you think it could be a major redesign for the franchise if they did do this or is it a bad idea changing Fire Emblem and basically taking everything unique about another games series? (It would be a nice crossover game at least, Emblem Chronicles)
  7. Perhaps this isn't the right place to post, but I finally created an account because I can't stand the generic sprite for Echoes on the front page. I crossed the sprites of Alm's Falchion and Celica's Beloved Zophia -- hopefully an admin will take pity on my plight and use this or something other than the generic emblem.
  8. Oh boy, here we go. Path of Radiance was a game in this series that I always really liked, but due to my poor handling of CDs as a kid I never had the chance to play through it fully beyond that first time years ago. Finally, I had the chance to play it again to refresh myself, and thought, "Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a super difficult Japanese exclusive mode never seen in the West?" Enter: Maniac Mode. In this first part, I do the first 3 maps of the game and we start to get a look at some of our units. Already I can feel some of the difficulty increase, but it's nothing too crazy just yet. On I side note, since I'm playing this in part to see if this game holds up after not touching it since 2005/2006, I have to say that I really like the strong sense of characterization your units get right off the bat. It's pretty coo'. I can't believe that I forgot to mention this, but if anyone interested in this wants to see a particular unit then go for it. I almost made this into a PMU, but like I say I haven't played this in years so I wanted to be able to at least use some units that would be guaranteed to be good. Pick Some of My Units doesn't have as nice a ring to it, but there ya go. I'll do me best to raise any requested character within reason. Except Boyd. Okay, yes, even Boyd. 9. This may be a small detail to some, but I think it would please some people such as myself if Intelligent Systems added the Wilhelm Scream into the sound effects for whenever an enemy unit is defeated in battle. I think it would add for a neat Easter Egg and a Fire Emblem game is perfect for it. Until then, maybe someone can make a mod for some already released Fire Emblem titles to have some enemies make the scream.
  10. I'm doing a second run of Fates, on Lunatic this time, but since I'm doing Conquest Lunatic right now (it's a hell of a challenge) I'm interested if anyone knows of any good self-imposed challenges in Fire Emblem, specifically for Revelations, because Revelations will seem too easy to me after beating Conquest on Lunatic (if I beat it that its).
  11. So please note, I am by no means analyzing movesets and whatnot. This is mostly stuff that caught my attention in the trailer. If there is a post already like this then mods feel free to lock/delete as needed. So a brief terminology explanation Musou- This is what I'm calling the focus spirit mechanic that Hyrule Warriors had, there is two versions, time and cancel (one you time out of the gauge the other is the manual cancel attack) Special- The other type of special attack, it's built up through attacking enemies and is basically that characters signature super attack The video in question is here https://youtu.be/G6p7iR5fWds Anyways, the analysis will be broken down into three sections; Characters, AI/Enemy related, and Locations/Maps Characters Male Robin appears to focus mostly on lightning and possibly light magic in his moveset (with the beams of light at the end, though it could still be lightning) Female Robin appears to focus on Fire and Dark magic moreso then lightning, though it's still not confirmed Possible way to show she could represent Grima in the campaign? Lucina's special (as I think it is) has a few noticeable moves in it, after the bow part, Lucina jumps into her boxart pose, before doing a Dolphin Slash from Smash Bros (her and Marth's up B in that game) and finishing with what appears to be Chrom's boxart pose before thrusting the Falchion into the ground Cordelia uses both hands to wield her lance, mostly right handed in gameplay though in her appearance cutscene she appears capable of using her left as well Both Robin's appearance cutscene of them pulling the hood off their head could be a reference to either Grima in awakening in one scene or Robin's first scene in their Smash Bros trailer Fredericks horse skid is amazing AI/Enemy related As seen in both Roin's combo scenes, mages are among the group of enemies now, though a little hard to see with how fast they get melted into the other enemies, don't know if they've been confirmed before but something I noticed When Chrom activates his Special, we see a grunt bent over behind him During Cordelia's combo, before she thrusts her lance into the ground from above, we see a grunt start to turn and run away, so both of these two could relate to enemy AI being slightly advanced beyond move here and attack or just be random coincidences Enemies in the forest/village stage wear green instead of red, possibly signifying soldier camo to the environment or represent a third party such as yellow did in hyrule warriors Locations Forest/village - I'm speculating early game fight against bandits, which could be wearing green to blend in to the environment, the location itself could be brand new or I'm thinking possibly Donnel's village, as that area did have some forts alongside trees and though we never saw the houses, it'd be a better fit then Southtown would (given we also don't see a river or market, both of which southtown has) Grima's Table - We see this in both Robin's gameplay, and has been confirmed to appear in history mode due to the Valibar screenshot Desert area - During Cordelia's gameplay we see her in a desert area with forts, I'm thinking either her joining level in Awakening, though I saw little trees and that map has a decent amount of trees plus I think I saw different leveled terrain, so I'm moreso thinking the Ylissean border with Plegia where Cordelia was stationed with her squad, fits better in terms of map design and introduces us to Gangrel, so possible plot moment Arena Ferox - Prett much instantly recognizable from Lucina's part, I'm speculating possible a 1-on-1 duel with her here to represent Chrom's duel with "Marth" Anyways that's all I've found, feel free to comment on what you guys saw/think and I may do this if when Fates gets it own trailer like this Still hoping we get a major shadow dragon announcement before though
Aiutatemi
  13. I think it's kinda funny how around the same time Fire Emblem abandoned weapon durability, Zelda added a weapon durability system.
  14. Do you ever have trouble making teams and getting good units? INTRODUCING... Axel's Team Building Guide! Basically, this guide will go through the steps to build a good team for your next playthrough. I'm going to go through how many units to have, good class diversity, etc. Anyways, here we go! Part 1: Amount of Units There's nothing more annoying than going through a game and realizing that you have to leave behind a unit you put hours into training for the final chapter. Always remember that the golden number is 12. If you don't know how many units you want, then just get 12. Not too many that you will have to leave one behind, or that they will fall behind in experience, and not too few that you can't handle the last few chapters. Personally, I recommend choosing the unit cap for the endgame. That way, you can have plentiful units and still be able to bring them all in. Which is probably why I don't like FE7 as much as the others, I hate those 5 must-brings. Part 2: Classes Alright, this part is where things start to change with the different class pools in the games, so I'll try to be as general as I can. Try not to have too many units of 1 weapon type. That will make you have a large disadvantage against a kind of weapon. Don't have too much of 1 kind of unit, or it will be hard to handle counters. Really, just pick what you feel compliments your team the best. Part 3: WHOMST Now that you know which classes and the amount of units you want, you need to decide who will fit those classes. This is the meat of any team building session. You have several factors to consider: When you get them, their growths, their classes, and (In the more recent games) their skill pools. Make sure that you don't get most of your units at the end of the game, as that will make the early a lot more difficult than it should be. Some units are just great all around, coming at an early, or at least not late part of the game, having great growths, a useful class, and great skills. Examples would be Miledy from FE6, Raven from 7, and the Avatar and Morgan from Awakening. Also, be careful if you have an Est character. They come late and start weak, but get incredibly powerful if you train them. I hope you all enjoyed my first guide. and I hope that it was helpful as well!
  15. Clearly one of the reason why Awakening is so popular is because there are a lot of fan favored characters. But among these characters one particular stand out, of course I am talking about Lucina. Seeing the success of Lucina, they tried again with Azura in Fates. This time they pushed for her more. While she is a popular character she is nowhere near the juggernaut that is Lucina. If they wanna do it again, what could IS done for the people that disliked Lucina to like the Switch FE's "Lucina"? Or do you dislike IS for having bias for these characters and pushing these characters down to you? Edit: I should clarified, what I meant to create another "Lucina" is: 1- Created to be universal appealing 2- Prominent in the story/Leading character status 3- Pushed by IS
  16. Well thinking I thought of an interesting game to make. Not a ROM or anything like that. But a Fire Emblem D20 system, similar to D&D. Could pull from the Fire Emblem Fates Boons/ Banes, for character creation. As well as make characters start out as a villager class, similar to Echoes. This is still in the early stages of creation and drawing board. However, once completed the roleplay essence of D&D should mix with the the fast paced action of the Fire Emblem series. Things that I can make work in theory: Class percentile for level up, (HP, Atk, Mag, Skl, Spd, Lck, Def, Res). Boon/ Bane Effects per person at a ±10% Base Weapon and Spell Accuracy Rolling to hit with a fixed damage. Things that I can see making to work as of right now: Changes in accuracy based upon character skill, and enemy speed Starting stats Movement (With and without the use of miniatures). How EXP is earned. How certain character or weapon skills would work. Would players have access to the classes that are reserved for the protagonists in the games, (Lord, Princess, etc.). Would players be perma-dead or would any campaign be run on the equivalent of "Casual?" How would fights come to pass, like who would move first? So more hurdles than clear fields right now. Which is to be expected in a game that is still a fledgling. However any insight would be most appreciated. I will attempt to write things down in a formal document as a "Handbook." Thanks
  17. Looking for some plot-related ideas for the Fire Emblem ROM hack I'm working on. I have some character designs in the works, though a plot to go with it would be nice. Right now all I have is the antagonist. Basic plot: The continent of Pyrrhen is mighty. Neighboring Archanea, its citizens have long lived in peace and avoided war. However, darkness hovers on the horizon. With the recent death of Prince Alessandro, strange and dangerous monsters have begun to appear, spreading death and destruction all over the continent. With the king and queen ignoring their citizens’ plight, it is up to the avatar and their army to send back the monsters and figure out what’s causing the darkness to spread. I do want to include the avatar system for people who liked the 3DS titles and are wary of older FE games. However I need a portrait artist for that and I can't seem to find any. As for Maya, the antagonist, she's the princess of Torrenia, the capitol of Pyrrhen. After her brother passes away, she uses an ancient dark magic to bring him back. However, the consequences are severe, causing blighted creatures to rise up. Only the avatar can stop her, gifted with the ability to wield Divernium, the holy magic. Looking for alternatives to the plot, volunteers if anyone would like to work on it, and gameplay mechanics that you'd like to see in the game.
  18. So, what are your thoughts of his main presence, role in the games?
  19. So basically I want everyone to make an avatar for a specific class line, and send me your castle address and I'll beat your team, pick your avatar, and use them in my run. 1. Jeff (Apothecary) by Me 2 . Lorelei (Troubadour) by @LoneStar 3. Madoka (Great Lord) by @AceDrake 4. Nora (Oni Savage) by TAR on Miiverse 5. Corrin (Knight) by Random Castle 6. Flynn (Outlaw) by Random Castle 7. Austin (Mercenary) by Random Castle

  23. NOTE: This is an old release. Please get v2.1 Here it is; The beta release of a project that took way too many stressful days to complete... It unintentionally re-balances most of the units in FE6... "FIRE EMBLEM: THE BINDING BLADE" CANONIZATION PROJECT now in public beta ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Introduction This is a project I've been working on for the past few days; adding FE4-like generation mechanics to FE6. Now, because I don't feel like frankensteining two GBA roms together, a few days ago I asked /r/FireEmblem to give me their favorite FE7 pairings (that lead to children in FE6). After calculating growths and base stats using the awakening formulae, I inserted those changed stats into the game via Nightmare. In addition to this, I gave all returning units from FE7 their FE7 growths, so now Bartre is more usable and Karel is a shining turd (sorry karel fans). I also took a leif from the FE4 inheritance book, and gave all children characters an item or weapon from their parents' inventory (Geese also gets a Killer Axe from Geitz). With these introduction thoughts out of the way, here are the pairings that /r/FireEmblem gave me; ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Pairings Eliwood x Ninian Hector x Farina Rath x Lyn (Lyn is only possible mother for Sue) Nino x Erk (Jaffar Soon™) Rebecca x Lowen Hawkeye x ??? Bartre x Karla (already canon) Pent x Louise (already canon) Canas x ??? Harken x Isadora (May or may not be implemented) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELEASE (OPEN BETA) Patch: Binding Blade Canonization Patch v1.0.zip Note: Please apply this patch on top of a ROM that has already been patched with the latest translation, failing to do so will result in error while trying to access certain content. Excel Document Reflecting Changed Stats and Growths: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ph2ex8qWRpAwt7jdTWJbqemt1LmpoDEpSSeEfJANLxA/edit?usp=sharing Word Document Reflecting Changed Factors: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ajdD7gG2YGYczZMCnz_QeZZUxlactIKIl4TRBlSUTN8/edit?usp=sharing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please let me know of any bugs or errors, as this is my first hack. Also, if someone requests it, I will change the other Manga weapons to reflect fan-favorite FE7 characters. Gant's Lance is now Lowen's Pike and appears in Wolt's starting inventory, so the ones left are the Staff and the Sword. Thank you, and enjoy! Also, the reason this is in beta is because I had some problems with editing starting stats before, and I need conformation that the children characters after the first chapter turned out the way I wanted to. Please compare the starting stats of changed units with the excel sheet linked above. COMING SOON: Adjusted pairings (Nino x Jaffar), but using Erk's magic growth because fuck that 15% Name patch to match with Heroes. Will release a separate patch with just the name changes. Binding Blade Canonization Patch v1.0.zip
  24. What should the themes or central theme be in Fire Emblem Switch? As a fan of Mike Babcock, a hockey coach who makes excellent soundbites, I want a theme where doing good things and good things happen to you. If you work hard and perform well, good luck happens to you. I'll say more on this idea later
  25. So I have a question, are there canon genders for the avatars in awakening and fates. If so what are they because I am so confused mostly about the fates canon.
