  1. Hey, I know I've been absent from the Fire Emblem community for a few years now. I've always held Fire Emblem dearly in my heart, but was going through a tough time in my personal life, so I had to get that sorted out. Now that I have (hopefully for good), I am now focused on my goal, my dream, which is to make a living as a Twitch streamer / content creator. So one of my ideas was to have a Fire Emblem Friday stream as a weekly routine. That's where you guys come in. What would you like to see in an 8 hour long weekly Fire Emblem stream? And what time slot is best? I was thinking noon to 8pm EST. It's great to be back :)
  2. OK, so as you may have noticed already, I'm in desperate need to expand my horizon when it comes to this franchise. I've been exposed to the GBA titles (all of them) too much, and have little to no experience or exposure with essentially all the other FE titles (other than Heroes). All I would like to know is where I should go next in the series, and how to handle those titles. For those who are looking to recommend me specific titles, I implore you to elaborate by informing me of some ways I can be playing the game in an efficient and smart way. I'd really like to appreciate this series for its entirety, and not just be a purist for a select few titles.
  3. https://youtu.be/p4J8TkibEp0 Hey there! It's been a while but I am back with a new video and new mic and all sort of crap to improve with! Please do not hold back on any criticisms!
  4. I was considering running either a Dark mage, master ninja, mechanist, paladin, archer, cavalier, dread fighter or one of the knight(?) classes. I really have no idea; first file was a priestess with magic boon and luck or skill bane, it was decent as a support. For ref; female Corrin here!
  5. Starting roughly half a year ago, I started doing a playthrough of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. Originally, it was just gameplay with subtitled commentary I made for a friend who hadn't played the game, but as I learned more about how to use my editing program, I had more ideas for my project. Starting with chapter 24, I started making some visual novel-like scenes from scratch, to add a more humorous and dynamic aspect to my playthrough (though in retrospect, some of it is a little too silly). I started calling this series OVERpLAY, partly because of the use of overlays and that I'm doing more than just playing a game. I read somewhere that at least part of Kaga's vision for Fire Emblem was for players to make their own stories, and that's sort of what I'm trying to do with this now; have some more character interactions, show some ways the deaths of some characters have affected surviving ones... ... and also play some things for laughs. Here is Chapter 24, where I started doing stuff in the "OVERpLAY" style: I was, admittedly, still trying to find some direction when I made this, and some of the humor, particularly early on with external references, which even I find a little cringy now. Also, in case you're wondering why the dead unit list is so long when the Aum staff is used, when when this was still an LP I made for a friend, I deliberately sacrificed my guys to access the gaiden chapters so I could show as much of the game as possible. Here is the Endgame: This is where I started doing stuff the way I currently am: while still mostly comedic, there are some serious moments too, and I used my additional scenes for the sake of some extra character depth, like Marth feeling the pressure of living up to Anri's legend. Lastly, here is the Shadow Dragon Epilogue: I bring everyone back to life for the sequel in an unapologetically contrived way, and make shoutouts to what's to come in Echoes and New Mystery. The very end also lays some groundwork for some of my plans for NMotE, but I'm not saying where that is. ? Here is the full playlist: As I said, Chapter 24 is where I started doing stuff in the OVERpLAY style, but here you go if you're interested in seeing how things got to that point. If you're interested in seeing an expert playthrough, though, you won't find it here. I'm planning on doing a New Mystery of the Emblem OVERpLAY in the not-too-distant future, building a story around the results of an Iron Man run, but for this, I deliberately killed off units for the gaiden chapters and I wasn't above stuff like arena grinding. Here is an unfinished video showing the progress of my current project, where I set up a little competition between my units: Here are some screenshots: Anyway, I really hope you enjoy these videos, and if you do, please leave a like and comment for the videos, and maybe consider subscribing to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC47MYIuECuL7-mLMDIf403Q It would mean a lot.
  6. A recurring feature of the FE games is a signature item named after the series itself. The Fire Emblem has come in all kinds of shapes and forms and has had many different uses: it's been a shield, a gem, a stone, a medallion; it's imprisoned maddened Earth Dragons, it's imprisoned evil beings, and it's imprisoned a supposedly evil being that turned out to not be evil after all. One time, it's also been a magic chainsaw Master Sword with a dark history that was barely touched on. Basically, the Fire Emblem has come in different forms, but there could always be more clever twists on the formula. Here is a topic for just that: post any ideas for a Fire Emblem that you think would be creative or a clever twist on the usual formula. Here's mine: in these games, the Fire Emblem has always been an object. How about an FE game where the player is led to believe at first that the Fire Emblem is an object, but it turns out to actually be a person. Perhaps, as a bit of foreshadowing, there's a scene where the villain interrogates an old sage character and the sage, with his dying breath, mocks the villain. But the villain notices the sage's choice of words and realizes out loud, "So, the Fire Emblem lives."
  7. Hello everyone, If I were to make a fire emblem copycat game but with different characters, story and dialogue and but only keep the gameplay mechanics. Specifically of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, would I get into trouble with Nintendo over copyright disputes? because from what I can gather they can copyright the game, characters even aesthetics. but not gameplay. The reason I'm asking this here is does anyone have any experience with making their own FE inspired turn-based strategy game? and if so what would be the do's and don'ts? to ensure the project, myself and the team do not fall under any lawsuits by Nintendo. I know it may seem shallow to want to copy the mechanics of a game, but I'd rather make a really good copycat than a really bad original game. My other (more personal) objective with the project is to promote cultural awareness of my father country, it's language, dialects, scripture history and culture. there is a lot of media out there in surrounding it like books, movies, and music. But no video games. So that's my motivation for this project, I even found the perfect historic event to take inspiration from, one that would really fit the "FE" archetype I think. So, any thoughts or tips?

  9. Hello everyone. I'm starting my new project, Purging Flame, a reimagined balance patch for Blazing Sword. The goal of this project is to create a FE7 that is balanced in a different way than the original. Siince the original was already somewhat balanced to begin with. Objectives: - Increase difficulty of Lyn mode - Fix supports growth rates - Make a few units actually worth using (Dorcas, Barte, Karla... etc...) - Make enemies more quality based in difficulty, rather than quantity based. - buff some units so they can deal with those changes. Here are some videos that I already posted:
  10. I was watching some FE6 videos a few days ago and I started thinking: Should Legendary Weapons even have uses? They're the arms of ancient heroes, forged to kill dragons, demons, and gods! If they break and disappear forever after 40 or so attacks, doesn't that undermine their significance in the game's lore?
  11. Has anybody seen the two episode fire emblem anime/OVA? well my question is if they were to make a sequel of sorts, which game would be best suited to a television/film interpretation, I think a "radiant" movie would be cool, that game has real cinematic edge, and a pretty strong plot, while awakening would make a better television series as it feels more episodically written, Fire Emblem 7 is so dramatic it reminds me of a Wagnerian opera (Is that a word?) I've also heard people compare the dark and complex plot of Geneology to that of game of thrones, though that one might have to come in at least two separate parts with possibly a third for thracia 776, i dunno anyone have thoughts on this?
  12. Which Fighter promotions do you prefer? Not much else to say.
  13. Hi, there everyone. The purpose of this topic is to revisit a project of mine, a balance patch and see if there is anything else I can do to improve on it. For that purpose, I'm going to post here videos and screenshots of my playthrough so that everyone can see and throw in their opinions on this patch. Well, then, for starters, the characters growths for chapter 1: Roy: HP 90% STR 65% SKL 55% SPD 70% LUK 60% DEF 35% RES 35% Wolt: 80% STR 50% SKL 50% SPD 45% LUK 40% DEF 25% RES 15% Marcus:: HP 60% STR 35% SKL 40% SPD 30% LUK 20% DEF 20% RES 20% Allen: HP 85% STR 55% SKL 40% SPD 35% LUK 40% DEF 35% RES 20% Lance: HP 80% STR 40% SKL 50% SPD 50% LUK 35% DEF 20% RES 25% Bors: HP 90% STR 50% SKL 40% SPD 35% LUK 50% DEF 45% RES 20% Now, here are the level ups in this chapter: Wolt off to a nice start Allen gets level ups in areas that aren't particularly his expertise but will do Lance doesn't start so well Wolt gets an level for killing the boss and is a bit meh I will post the video at a later date.
  14. Working on some new ideas for skills. Here's my first one: Ward Type: Command Target: Self Effect: When activated, physical attacks (Swords, Lances, Axes, Bows, Daggers, and non-magical Monster Weapons etc.) target Resistance instead of Defense for 3 turns. Once the effect ends, the user can not use Ward again for 3 turns.
  15. Hi guys. I need some help with some Fire Emblem Fates pairings. I'll be playing on Revelations and what I want to get is the most "optimal" pairings for each child unit in the game. I'm aware that there seems to be a bit more of a compromise with pairings that you have to make in this game as compared to in Awakening. That being said, I do want to give Velouria, Shigure & Soleil the best inheritances they can have, and then I don't really mind with the rest of the units settling for whatever there is as a 'second-best'.
  16. Hey all. I booted up my Awakening cartridge to find out that I didn't have my Lunatic+ save loaded, and it appears I have also lost my backup ;-; So I have decided I'm going to replay the game through Lunatic+, and I want to have all the most 'optimal'/'best' pairings. Now I've decided I'll probably be going with some sort of +Mag male avatar, and will most likely pair him with Cherche, if not Lucina. With this in mind, I would like to ask what are the best pairings in Awakening? Please and thanks.
  17. Based on the title and Edelgard's line about the Crests, it's looking like her, Dimitri, and Claude, are the "Lords" of the titular Three Houses, with "Teacher"/Byleth acting as a faction-neutral Avatar. We still don't know whether all four will be in the same army like Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector in Blazing Sword (or Chrom, Robin, and Lucina in Awakening, for newer fans), but if they do, Three Houses would have the highest number of playable Lords in the series*. That got me thinking, how many "Lord" characters should a Fire Emblem game have? Do the they ride together or can there be only one? Before We Do This, Let's Set A Few Ground Rules... For this discussion, a "Lord" is defined as a unit who... ...is the protagonist or a major character in the story. ...has higher stats and growths than the other units, as well as exclusive weapons (Ephraim's Reginleif, Hector's Wolf Beil, the Rapier, Legendary/Divine Weapons etc.). ...is required to be on the map. (Depending on the game or chapter, this can be only the main lord or all of them) ...and whose death results in an automatic Game Over. *Radiant Dawn technically had five Lords: Micaiah, Ike, Elincia, Geoffrey, and Tibarn. However, the latter three were only Lords for certain parts, whereas Ike and Micaiah retained their Lord status throughout the entire game. My Thoughts Narrative-wise, I like this. Having a deuter- or even a tritagonist Lord gives the protagonist someone to interact with and flesh out their character. For example, back when I still owned a copy of Blazing Sword, I could never figure out how to trigger Support conversations, so the main story was my only way to get invested in the characters. I'll admit, Eliwood may be the main Lord of one of my favorite FEs, but he's the weakest personality of the trio. But thanks to Hector's battle-hungry boisterousness and Lyn's kind, but stubborn spirit providing contrast, I still found him likable. As for gameplay, I'm a bit mixed. On one hand, a Lord's higher stats and growths, and their special equipment (especially Legendary Weapons) can make them gamebreakingly overpowered, so having more than one can make things worse. On the other hand, extra Lords means the enemy has extra chances to instantly defeat you, so the risk and reward sort of balance eachother out, to an extent. But what do you think?
  18. What game mechanics should make a return in Three Houses? Or add your own ideas! Go hogwild!
  19. So here's my thread for every LP that isn't my primary LP (currently Valkyria Chronicles 4, go ahead and check it out by clicking that link). Here, you can expect to see video LPs of various games. Anyway, I'll try to post videos for three games over the course of each week. So with that, my first vid will be Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, Book 1. And in this part, Ogma and Caeda show off just how awesome they are while Cain and Abel also are total one-crit wonders.
  20. Good Morning I am new to this forum and I am trying to learn to use Photoshop. I have designed a weapon system for fire emblem I hope you like it and I wish to get some feed back on what people think about it and how it will affect class composition and game play etc Weapons Swords will cover all variants on traditional blades: Rapiers, Broad Swords, Sweihandlers and also oriental blades such as katakana and masamune etc Axes are covering blunt weapons such as clubs, scythes and magi-stars. Lances cover piked weapons such a tridents and poles etc Magic Arcane is the new replacement for "dark" magic. I found the term quite archaic so I replaced it with the study of the arcane mostly dealing with space and time. practitioners can use spells such as warp, re-warp, teleport and worm. They will also be able to build nexus's, powerful areas on empty times that serve a variety of functions, for example similar to the light rune from FE-7 and the effects of the barrier staff. These concepts are still a work in progress. Tomes represent the contemporary studies of magic and are concerned with the manipulation of energy in it's terrestrial forms, Fire, Wind, Ice and Thunder. These will all be lumped into a Anima and fall under the Weapon Type of tomes. Not all mages will wield every type, for balancing issues. I am still playing with this concept. Users of Scepters specialize in light magic which can be used to vanquish otherworldly creatures, bestow powerful buffs and deal damaged with excellent accuracy. Projectiles All projectiles have a max range of two from the get-go, some classes many have attributes that modify this to their specialization. Kunai still work as de-buffers but will also receive a new feature, the "set trap" command which can be used on various surfaces to incapacitate, debilitate or eliminate foes. Guns are a new weapon that will be in early stage of development in the story line. Not many classes will wield this weapon as it will be specifically implemented as a siege weapon; Cannons. The application of airships is also something to consider. Considering allowing it's range to be in cardinal directions, only impeded by trees, walls, etc. Bows will have more variety between those that have a 1-2 and a 1-3 range which I hope will redeem archers. Otherwise no changes. Magic Effects Primal: All characters will have access to this in some form or the other whether it be a mount or a beast stone to transform into a creature, dragon, taguel etc. There will not be many major stat boost when it comes to mounts as i feel the extra move and weaknesses will be enough of a trade off. This will require more discussion. Mounts I have in mind are: Alicorns, Griffins, Dire Wolfs, Horse (of-course) and Rolling Calfs(Dark knight Only). Staves have been nerfed and buffed, many of the effects they used to have, have been handed off to wands, however they will retain their healing and status relieving function (heal, physic, fortify, etc) and as a design choice will be mostly composed of wood and other living-esque materials to differentiate them from scepters. Range of most spells are not 1-2 except Recover. Staff users will have some attacks, mostly endgame and boss only magic, based on the earth and water to manipulate terrain. Still researching this. Wands, impose your will upon the flesh using blood magic. Use of wands drain the users health upon casting. Users will have access to spells such as: Warg(Control an enemy, cannot move during this), death(causes instant death, low accuracy, bosses immune), sacrifice(heal an ally using your hp (conversion from hp lost to hp gained will be 1/2 higher.) etc. Please leave comments and feedback, thank you. *This is my first time using Photoshop pls excuse the choppy work.
  21. I decided to do a randomized 0% growths run for the fun of it. Tbh I won't be consistent with uploads so expect a few hiatuses here and there. I'm not doing commentary and idk if that'll change or not, I am putting my thought in the description though. So, if you wanna get an idea of what I'm thinking through each chapter, just read that.
  22. The Souls of Anarchy: Spurning Staff 27 main chapters A strange main continent, with paralogues leaking to other worlds A myriad of skills: originating from Ylisse, Zenith, and the world of Fates Non-canon FE skills that includes personal skills for each playable character 35+ characters that will soon join the squad - a good amount with tragic backstories A dramatic story with comedic gag elements Some draconic and beast classes with corresponding elements Weapons from the entire FE series, plus a batch of outliers and unique items Battles takes cue from Sacred Stones, Radiant Dawn, and Awakening This fangame acts as a spiritual successor to the roleplay Fire Emblem: Realms of the Cosmic Mirror, currently on a indefinite hiatus, and borrows many of the same concepts and mechanics. It runs on riskrain’s Lex Talionis engine, which was written in Python. The fangame implies you have tackled strategy RPGs at a deep level before and may not be for the faint of heart. While the base game aims to be as difficult as the Jugdral duology, Casual Mode will still be kept just in case. If you’re familiar with my previous roleplay, I might be contacting former players for help on this project. Don’t expect a sequel, because this is pretty tough work. If it is, the sequel may use FEXNA as its base. Discord link for further info and discussion: https://discord.gg/V8WDthQ Progress: Not really begun on yet (or have extra help), so please wait for a first release! Once I gather resources and more development help, I'll keep updated with pictures as soon as possible!
  23. A hack of FE8, Tiding Bonds takes place on the continent of Listeria. One year prior to the story events, an unfortunate accident befell Prince Vincent of Cistellia. Since then, no member of the royal family has been seen besides the young Princess Maya. Terrors have risen seemingly out of nowhere, attacking civilians and sowing havoc wherever they roam. Amidst the chaos rise two lords, the twins Castor and Pollux, wielders of two of the Divine Weapons. However, they are lacking the third to complete the trio. One day, they find a lone traveler clinging to a capsized boat in the harbor. A young mage from Khadein by the name of Musica. Realizing they have found the third, the three set off to save Listeria. Featuring: Mixed melee and magic, the Freelancer class (hopefully), and other features that will hopefully be added should volunteers be willing to help. Right now, I'm a one-man team (and rather new at hacking) in high school, so if I tried to singlehandedly implement all the features I want, I'd probably be nearing my 30s by the time it would be finished. I'm looking for pretty much anyone, though I'm especially in need of mappers and people who can make battle animations. I'm really dedicated to this, and I've already written more than half the script. Thanks to the FEU discord (especially sme) for suffering through my noob questions and helping me make this demo a reality! Credits: Circles, for the female Ephraim animation. And Dancer A, for the first level map. Tiding Bonds demo patch.ups
  24. Been around Serenes Forest for a good amount of time now but never really posted or got involved with the community. That being said I would love to join this incredible community of Fire Emblem Fans and discuss this series we all love so much. A little about me, of course I adore Fire Emblem and my personal favorites would either have to be Genealogy of the Holy War and Heroes of Light and Shadow though Blazing Blade holds a special place in my heart thanks to its incredible characters. I am also a pretty mediocre artist but do enjoy it a lot and enjoy music of every genre and when I say every genre I mean all of them. So ya hope to have a great time here and get to know some great people.
