  1. I just picked this bundle up tonight, and the folks at gamestop said that it would be sent to my email. I haven't gotten an email yet, other than the order confirmation, and it makes it seem like it is shipping to my house when it is actually a digital code. Has anyone else bought this bundle through gamestop and has received or is waiting for their code?
  2. http://imgur.com/cJlEQzc For everyone who pre-ordered the special edition (like myself) you should take a look at this!! Apparently, Gamestop has messed up SEVERELY and now if you've pre-ordered too late, your pre-order has been cancelled and you'll have to look elsewhere. (THANKS GAMESTOP!) However, if you've pre-ordered online, you're safe so don't worry! Only those who pre-ordered in-store are affected. Fortunately for me, I pre-ordered this on the 16th, so I'm good. What about you guys?

  4. So if you have been around Gamestop.com lately you will have noticed that they are now selling retro titles, consoles, and accessories from the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, and Dreamcast. http://www.gamestop.com/collection/retro-classics They are not yet selling them in store unfortunately but the prices are pretty similar to amazon and ebay if not slightly more expensive for some titles. Console packages are not too bad although NES, SNES are not in stock. To be honest it doesn't really save you any money and the prices are not the best. Further adding problems is that other than the consoles they don't detail all you are getting (manual case etc). I was kind of hoping they would move towards having this stuff in store given the surge in popularity in retro titles. While it would take up shelf space I do think it would behoove them in an age of digital downloads to sell retro stuff physically in the store. Moreover being a bigger chain company they can afford to sell these things for much less than mom and pop shops and still profit off it which perplexes me as to why they are not cheaper (yes I know they want to maximize profit but if you're offering the same price as everyone else then there is no incentive to buy your stuff over others). Anyhow check it out see if you find anything you fancy.
  5. I don't normally like to just repost articles but this struck my eye as I have a fancy and hobby for collecting now. Gamestop is launching a pilot to buy and sell classic games, systems, and controllers dating back to the NES. The pilot will start on April 25th at which time they will accept trade ins for about 2 months to build up an inventory. Currently it is slated to launch in 250 store locations in the NYC and Birmingham markets. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/15/gamestop-to-offer-classic-consoles-and-games I fell pretty conflicted about this. On one hand if this becomes a hit and they do this across all their locations then it can make finding older games like Path of Radiance easier to find and not to mention cheaper than they go for on ebay sure they'd sell it to you for like $50 used but compare that to paying over $100 for a complete set. On the other hand if this does become big it'll be a major blow if not fatality to small mom and pop shops who deal in this kind of thing which kinda sucks. I didn't really see them coming out to do this as I always kinda thought of gamestop as keeping with the times and at most selling stuff a generation behind. However, the more I think about it with things like digital downloads, license keys, and the ebbing away of physical copies in new games I could see how this makes sense and is another avenue that they are trying to make money.
  6. Any of you who has tried to obtain Xenoblade in the past year or two is probably familiar with the vast array of problems with actually obtaining it. Some of you are aware that Gamestop is selling pre-owned copies for MSRP as a Black Friday sale online today (Thursday) and tomorrow, so, selling it for 39.99 USD, which is a far cry better than ~70 USD. So I go to order it. Get through all the steps: checkout, billing, shipping, confirmation... Fucking "Undefined: Order Submission Error" message. Sooo pissed. (Email sent to customer support, probably gonna try and go in to the physical store tomorrow, blah-blah-blah, but still, pisses me off). I'm not even sure why I'm telling you guys this. Meh. Well I guess there's a takeaway: tl;dr - Gamestop.com is selling Xenoblade at a reasonable price for Black Friday, have fun Success! Just got it at a physical store nearby today, yay~ tl;dr v2 - Buy it in a physical store if you still can today!
