  1. Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble at Nohr chapter 20 "Winds of Change" So my units are about on par with the enemies, a bit stronger in fact so they can easily keep up in the combat side of things. But the problem and what keeps getting me is the map's hazard, the wind. It keeps pushing you forward and or pulling you back from the progress you made, and it does that to the enemies too, and that usually left my weakest units exposed for the enemies to just wail on them. Can you guys help me with some advice for this level? I'd be much appreciated. I'm playing on hard difficulty by the way.
  2. Hello everyone! As the title says I am doing a Hector Harem run of Blazing Sword on hard mode, using this hack: http://feshrine.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showtopic=6173 This is so I have access to a thief. I welcome you all to take a look. The link to my Let's Play channel is in my signature. Have a radical day. :) Gryphon
  3. UPDATE: This will become a demo to Mechanics Emblem. Pretty much a 2 chapter hack to show off the flooding idea. Hi, MrNight here, long time search lurker, first time showcasing, releasing Rage Emblem beta to the community for feedback and beta testing. Going to give a rundown of what to expect, why I am doing this, and ultimately what I hope to achieve. Let's begin... Old crap Link and ScreenShots RageEmblem: Update: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3c8h0gv1z02fcln/RageEmblemv1.51.ups only prologue and the original chapter 1. That is it to preserve what the flood chapter originally was. As for Rage Emblem, will be changing it to Mechanics Emblem and all the chapters will be redone to flex my new hacking muscles. Do note chapter 2 will break after that. Let me know immediately if patch doesn't work here or by pm. Lunar gave me the 16 MB limit so I am a bit nervous. What would I like? Constructive criticism. Good or Bad with in depth explanation. I value absolute brutal honestly as long as it helps my hack to be just brutal on being good. Even If I shed man tears in darkness, I will use those said tears to make my creative furnace hotter to forge this hack to near perfection. The sooner I get this out in the open and played by the community, the faster I get feedback to make it better during its development instead of doing all this work and polish only to be told the gameplay sucks and is boring. (made that mistake once and was crushed). That being said I will not explain too much about it to prevent bias thinking so beta testers can tell me their experience as well as what they find. A bit about my hacking background So with all that said, I will discuss why I started making this. I came into fire emblem hacking due to seeing cool custom animations in 2012 and wanted to learn how to do them and I did just that. I googled like a madman and came upon blazer's tutorial package and worked from there. While working on animations I was looking for youtube videos of fire emblem to watch and inspire me while working in MS paint. That is when I came across ragefest because there was few fire emblem videos that was longer than 10 minutes and wow did that series blew my mind. It showed me the possibilities on what FE hacking can do instead of just reskins and class changing. Sadly, the more I watched, the more I realized it was really not for newbie's and tried to gain some skills before I tried to enter the contest. Later on I learned It was pretty much dead due to the "been there, done that" and the lack of interest which led me trying to make a submission for gaiden. This led me to make the horrible mistake of not finding dedicated FE experienced testers because the ones I asked to test were friends who did not want to admit to me they didn't really care about my fire emblem hack nor was that good at it. (they admitted they wasn't good after I sent it in) I took this as failure on my part and decided to really do some game design research while practicing key FE hacking concepts. The biggest thing I have learned is the mantra of "fail faster" hence is why I am throwing my hack to the FE community who is already interested in Fire Emblem and are more willing rip apart bad hacks so it can grow. I also found I am better at coming up with ideas and motivation if I designed chapters to be challenging to ragefest levels instead of basic fire emblem chapters that bore me to tears. I tried to do as much hacking on my own (the serenes search button has become my most valued friend) and to show the ideas I came up with to throw at the player to really make them think. (cathrine hard but chess style) So yeah, feel free to say what you want about the hack or pm to make it private. Good Luck and Thank You.
  4. I'll be honest, I have had FE:A since two mounths after it's launch in 2013, and I haven't played hard mode once. I am, for the first time, trying hard mode and it is a whole different world from normal (You probably know this). I am on the 5th chapter and I'm stumped. I have completed this game 5 times on normal mode, so I know how the storyline goes. I was wondering if some more expirenced players could offer incite onto any strategies that I should take on hard mode. I also have the fallowing DLC: Golden pack, R&R 3, LB 2-3, and SB 2-3. Thank you.
  5. Kind of like how one of staff responsible for Halo said Heroic was the canon difficulty. I'm torn between it being either hard or Lunatic, but is it possible for it to be Normal? Also, without any DLC, is it possible to beat this game without using any skills, on hard or lunatic?
  6. I'm curious to know how everyone will play their game on their very first run, so feel free to share your choice and reasons. For me it would be: Hoshido Hard/Classic No Reset Little to no grinding (but I will be messing around with Hoshido My Castle). I always play a new Fire Emblem game this way because it reminds me of playing the series for the very first time as a kid and I wanna see how much I've improved as an Fire Emblem player in general by thinking of strategies on the fly and dealing with the consequences of having a character die without making the game unbeatable (i.e Fredrick dying in lunatic during the first few chapters of Awakening). But if Orochi, Orobo or Pieri die... so help me god I will jump out of a freaking window. EDIT: Now Hoshido or Nohr is an option in the poll.
  7. I'm doing a no DLC playthrough (reeking boxes and skirmishes allowed.) and I've gotten around to recruiting the children. They have decent stats and growths and there class options offer some very helpful skills. The only problem is that their paralouges are hard as hell. My main team mostly consists of level 1-8 promoted units. I've hadn't had any trouble with Morgan's or owain's but the others are a different story. There are sages, sorcerers, assassins and berserkers with ranged axes meaning my units aren't very safe and considering res growths aren't usually very high and assassins are very accurate my units die very quickly. The ones I'm having the most trouble with are inigo's, nah's, severa's and gerome's. Are there any tips anybody could give me to survive these, I want to get the children as early as possible so that there useful.
  8. Hello, everyone! I am here to provide you all with an LP of FE7 CHAOS MODE, brought to me, and maybe to you, by KLOKINATOR! Yes, I know that FE7 chaos mode is quite possibly the most LPed hack in all of serenes forest, but I decided to LP it anyways, partially because none of the LPs has actually been finished(although with its official release, there are a few still in progress), and partially because FE7 chaos mode is a pretty awesome hack and deserves more attention. HERE IS ITS THREAD: FE7 Chaos Mode Thread Klokinator said that when he made this, he wanted to make a hack different from all the other inflation hacks, with just ludicrously inflated enemy and player stats, fake difficulty, and lots of BS everywhere that tries to trick you into thinking it's hard(the other hacks had those things, not this one.). And, although I wouldn't know because this is the only hack of that type I've ever played, I think he succeeded! FE7 Chaos Mode is the best hack of its type that I've ever played! Maybe you want to know a bit more about the hack before I start. Well, I'll tell you about all the many changes Klok made to everything as we go along. Let me just say that EVERYTHING is different. EVERYTHING. Except the maps. And the game's genre and premise. And the plot, which is only a little different. And probably a few other things that I missed. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS DIFFERENT, I PROMISE. Of course, as I introduce them to you, I'll assume you have absolutely no foreknowledge of this hack. I'm new to this whole LPing thing, of course, so tell me how I do. And without further ado, it's time for EVEN MORE ADO: THE INTRODUCTION: Before I go, I realize I need something to make this LP DIFFERENT. So, I will be running a lot on audience participation! You guys get to choose who to drop, who to keep, who to uberboost, and maybe even who to kill! All I ask is that you please be decisive, it is very tempting to try to include every character, as all of them make you want to use them, but we have very limited deployment spots, and if we don't focus our limited XP(no arenas!), I'll be in big trouble. I'm done...for now.
  9. Drafting: 1. This draft is for four players. 2. You may join this draft without intent to finish, but you must draft to the best of your abilities. 3. Chrom, Frederick, Olivia, Lucina, and Inigo are free for all to use. 4. Avatar is banned. 5. The game will be played on Hard Mode Classic. 6. The two undrafted units left after the seventh round are banned. Rules: 1. Every unit is free on any map where they are forcibly deployed. 2. No unit may be deployed unless that unit is drafted or forced. 3. NPC units may do as they please without penalty. 4. Paralogues are optional, and free up to ten turns. Morgan's paralogue, however, is banned. 5. Challenge battles are banned. You may have undrafted units clear a challenge battle to shop, though any items obtained must be discarded/cannot be used or sold. 6. Map shopping is allowed, excluding items sold from Anna Merchant shops. 7. Mothers are drafted with their children, but are drafted at the same time as the rest of the units. 8. Use of items obtained from event tiles, the barracks and renown items are banned. 9. Use of DLC and Spotpass (including Free Content) is strictly prohibited. 10. Forging is allowed. Extra: 1. The Rescue staff is banned entirely from use. 3. Don't be an ass. If there's a rule ambiguity, discuss it with the other drafters. 4. Avatar is free to marry Chrom, if you so desire. If you do, Lucina is limited to the following class set: Lord, Archer, Cavalier, Tactician. Players: Terrador, Mr. Iggy Koopa, General Horace, BBM Teams: Terrador: Sumia+Cynthia, Nowi+Nah, Gregor, Miriel+Laurent, Libra, Basilio BBM: Sully+Kjelle, Cherche+Gerome, Lon'qu, Gaius, Maribelle+Brady, Donnel Mr. Iggy Koopa: Lissa+Owain, Cordelia+Severa, Vaike, Anna, Kellam, Ricken General Horace: Panne+Yarne, Stahl, Virion, Tharja+Noire, Henry, Say'ri [spoiler=Units!] Tiki Flavia
  10. On Normal, he's never needed; I benched him before midgame because the other units were just as good. On Lunatic, I must use him to get through the early game. What about Hard mode? How much is intelligent use of Frederick on Hard? The enemies aren't very strong as on Lunatic, but your starting units and equipment will have trouble with them, unlike on Normal. My feelings for Frederick aside (I like his personality), the idea would be to use him as little as possible, but sometimes he's the only hope to escape an unfavorable situation...
  11. so far it is generally pretty easy, however i am about to go into the 3rd gym and after battling that lucario duo i am scared, i mean the lucario duo was easy since i had high levled pokemon, like level 30 or 31 but that swords dance and metal sound, but yeah, how hard was or is pokemon x and y?
  12. Choose which weapon type I will use. I can only use characters who can use that weapon without reclassing. The gamemode will be Hard/Classic. Also choose 5 people that I must use.
  13. Well, I have finally conquered lunatic. I proceeded to begin lunatic+. It sucks. I need help with chapter two, I can't do it, even with Virion's elixir. My MU is lv. 4 with a skill asset and defense flaw (It's only -1 defense). In C1 Fred got a soothing sword, and he just camped on the fortress and took out every enemy. I abused the boss until I couldn't with MU. The soothing sword has 4 uses left, and he also has Sully's lance and MU's sword, as well as his silver lance with 20, maybe 21 uses left. This will be a grind run. I'm also challenging myself to no sorcerer/dark magic run. A few VV abusers will go in and out of the sorc class to get vengeance, but they will not be sorcs in any campaign chapters. Chrom/Sumia- GL!Lucy, Falcon knight or paladin!Cynthia MU/Olivia- Grandmaster!Morgan, Hero!Inigo Ricken/Lissa- Dread Fighter or Sage!Owain Henry/Maribelle- War Monk!Brady Donnel/Sully- No idea!Kjelle Stahl/Cordelia- Hero!Severa Fred/Cherche- Wyvern!Gerome Gregor/Panne- Zerker!Yarne Lon'qu/Miriel- Sage!Laurent Gaius/Tharja- Dark Flier!Noire Vaike/Nowi- Manakete or axefaire hero!Nah I will not take suggestions for the pairings, but the classes I obviously need help with. I'm open to suggestions for chapters two and three, because they're stupidly hard, and for the second gen's classes.
  14. So, I said I was going to play a hard-classic file using random pairs from Meteor's pairing randomizer thing. I was asked to tell how it was going. I decided to make this page, since it would be pointless to cover it on another page. I also can't record it because I don't have a new-fangled 3DS capture card. My brother will be playing along, so I'll do some coverage of his playthrough as well. We will be doing some minor grinding when we get new characters, and after chapter 16, we will do a lot of skill grinding, just so the kids can have the best skills. We're both currently on C5, which will probably be covered here sometime today or tomorrow. I would also like to thank Meteor for making the randomizer. Anyway, here are the pairings we got: Me- MU x Olivia, Chrom x Maribelle, Gaius x Sumia, Kellam x Cordelia, Lon'qu x Sully, Virion x Lissa, Donnel x Miriel, Fred x Nowi, Henry x Tharja, Gregor x Cherche, and Vaike x Panne. My brother- MU x Lissa, Chrom x Maribelle, Henry x Sumia, Ricken x Nowi, Vaike x Tharja, Fred x Miriel, Stahl x Olivia, Libra x Cherche (Ouch), Lon'qu x Panne, Gaius x Cordelia, and Gregor x Sully. EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, my MU's asset is skill, flaw is defense. My brother's is magic, flaw is HP. Feel free to give us tips (mainly on the classes and skills of the 2nd Gens) because we'll need them with some of the pairs (Libra x Cherche). Please remeber that this is a casual run, we will not be doing Apo, or any of the challenge pack. Heck, we may not even do Xenologues. Thank you for your support! UPDATE: C5 will be up sometime tomorrow due me having a busy day today and not having time to play the game.
  15. I have a strategy that will work for anyone who has DLC, on any difficulty. First, you add your avatar into the avatar logbook, with full stats, and any skills you want him to be equipped with. This should be done on easy, or hard, so that you don't have too much trouble. Second, start a game on the difficulty that you cannot complete (e.g. Lunatic). Spam Frederick paired up with Chrom, until you have completed chapter 4, so that you will unlock the Outrealm Gate. Third, grind the Golden Gaffe, until you have enough money to buy the avatar from Step 1. Now use this avatar as much as you want. Notes: The more full-stat avatars you have, the better. You can keep grinding the golden gaffe, to buy up to 20 avatars at once. If you have Rouges and Redeemers 3, you can equip Limit Breaker. You should consider equipping this on your avatar(s). If you have 99,999 Renown, you can sell the Supreme Emblem for 99,999G, and your Bullion (L) for 10,000G, and (probably) buy an avatar before completing chapter 4. These avatars cannot have support conversations, so unfortunately, the support boosts won't increase. You can use the EXPonential Growth, in order to get lots of experience, but I recommend you wait until completing chapter 16 (or paralogue 16) so that you can buy Master Seals, and Second Seals. I hope this information helps!
