General Parenting ThreadHello all, I and another parent here in the Forest thought it might be a good idea to open up a thread where we can discuss all things parent and children related. I know there's a handful of parents that are posters here, and there may very well be more that I'm unaware of. My current count is four. However, we could also talk about families in general as well, or posters want to talk about their own parents, since we all experience the child half of the parent-child relationship, first. I and other parents could also try to field questions as best we can about people maybe thinking about becoming parents themselves one day, or just want to satisfy morbid curiosity. In the end, we're all amateurs, here. For me, I have two children. One is in the oven, while the other finished cooking a little over two years ago. Adventures in pregnancy have been discussed in http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=62651. My son is named Leo, and my daughter will be called Est. I swear I don't name my children after Fire Emblem characters, it just worked out that way.

I'm kinda confused about a story detail
Aemzso posted a topic in Fire Emblem FatesSo I'm a bit confused about something. It might be a spoiler, so consider that your warning. Lots of people mention Mikoto's letter to the Hoshidan royal children when Corrin gets an S Support with them as the way we find out they aren't actually related. It's a revelation, a secret finally revealed, and that's how it's treated. ...Except for one thing. In Corrin and Hinoka's B Support, Hinoka says Mikoto tried to talk her out of being a Sky Knight, referring to her as "your mother", as if it were common knowledge that Mikoto is only Corrin's mother. Corrin then says "Oh, she was worried even though you weren't related?", reaffirming the common knowledge point. My question is: was that mentioned at some point in the Birthright story? I don't remember it, yet they treat it as if it were already known. Why'd Nintendo call the Hoshidan siblings your brothers and sisters by blood in the advertising, and then just so casually mention the fact that that isn't true in that support?
Official FE1-6 translations imminent?
Roy Havenstone posted a topic in General Fire EmblemSo I was thinking, with Lucas back in smash, and the announcement of the Mother 1 translation being released worldwide as Earthbound Beginnings, many are predicting Mother 3 to follow suit. And since Roy has been added back in as well, at the same time no less, could this mean that FE6, or even the whole japanese exclusive Fire Emblem library, will receive the same treatment? Itoi's himself mentioned that Mother 1 was being translated and re-released as part of the 20th anniversary of Earthbound's release, and with it being the 25th anniversary of FE as a series, and the music concert on the way I could think of worse times to make such an announcement. Of course I may be looking into this too much, and as someone who's accustomed to the fan translations (the use of memes aside) I'd rather see these games remade rather than translated and redistributed, FE6 in particular due to its sameness and lack of polish, but I'd be excited if this turned out to be true. Penny for you thoughts, anyone?
Nostalgia and Feels Thread.
Misses Elise-chan! posted a topic in Far from the Forest...Guys I don't think I should be having nostalgia at this point in my life. Playing Mother 1 and 3 really gave me a lot of feels and the songs too, Pollyanna and Love Theme especially. For you older users, talk about what gives you nostalgia. Feel worthy moments are discussed here too.
