  1. [spoiler=Musicians] [spoiler=Other Ideas] Messaging me through here also works. Questions? Post them here or here: http://power-master.wikia.com/wiki/Board:News_and_Announcements I'm pretty much just getting things together right now. Only have the first town partially completed and some characters done. I'm doing mostly everything from scratch this time, all new resources, which gives me a LOT of room to work with! Game is set before the events of Power Master 1, but any idea will fly so long as I can get it to work. That is, the system actually allows me to do so. Go crazy.
  2. Finally! I can now finally say that my first game, Power Master 1: A Strange Journey, is OUT! It’s here! Click here to download the game! Power Master 1: A Strange Journey spent almost eight years in the making. The original idea was planned out in 2008 and was finalized on paper in 2011. Since then, it went through several designs in different programs, such as Unity, before being developed for the RPG Maker VX Ace engine. This game was made with the original plans in mind and was kept as true to the source material as possible. Within this time-frame, Power Masters 2 and 3 were also finalized on paper, and development on Power Master 2 will start soon. This is kind of a bittersweet moment for me, really. I spent a good portion of my life working on this first game of mine, and now it is done! I feel proud, accomplished, and upset all at the same time. I no longer have to work on this game anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’m done. I still have many more ideas… Synopsis Begin the adventure of a new journey. Take control of your party and save the world as it is once again under attack from the revived wizard, Exitilus. His goal: Obtain all 26 of the wish-granting Gems that reside in the land of Moneo. Collect them all before he does and then take the fight to him! Journey through towns in any order, which consists of forests, large buildings, volcanoes, everlasting mazes, deserts, spaceships, alternate dimensions, mountains, and more! Choose your path wisely, as some towns are higher in difficulty than others. Level up by defeating enemies to get stronger and learn new skills, and equip the strongest weapons and armor to get stronger still! You’ll encounter enemies such as swordsmen, witches, giant clocks, aliens, and even yourself! Though that remains your main goal, there are many people who need your help. Take on quests given by the residents of Moneo and receive a reward for the detour. Many secrets are hidden away in Moneo, as well. Burn trees and blow up mountainsides to uncover rare treasure and maybe even a new dungeon! You are the descendant of the original heroes who defeated Exitilus a thousand years ago. Live up to your lineage, but you don’t have to go it alone. Three others will join you when you find them: a warrior, a digger, and your cousin. Explore this new world and learn everything there is to know about it! Both you and your character are seeing this world for the first time, so gain knowledge, friends, experience, and soon nothing will stand in your way. The game plays and takes inspiration from older role-playing games, such as Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy. It contains many fantasy-like elements, such as swords, dragons, an expansive overworld, and quirky dialogue. Learn new skills to get the edge on your foes and gather Info Cards to learn more about the enemies you’ve faced! If you need to get around faster, use the Gems you collect for a quick warp to its respective town. Travel a new world, make new friends, and live the start of a long and strange journey. Secret Code! Here’s a little secret for you guys. Input name “Minimode” at the name entry screen for a different take on the adventure! Code is case sensitive. Characters These characters can be swapped around based on the player’s beginning decision, which slightly affects the game and story. Stephan: The “Boy 1” option. Cannot use magic, so he relies mainly on offensive tactics. Uses swords, shields, bows, and axes. Jennifer: The “Girl 1” option. The quickest in the game and has both offensive and status inducing/recovery skills. Uses swords, shields, bows, and magic. Hamilton: The “Boy 2” option. The strongest in the game and is capable of wielding two weapons instead of one. Uses swords, axes, and magic. Helen: The “Girl 2” option. Not the strongest character, so she relies mainly on defensive and helpful skills. Uses whips, magic, bows, and shields. Controls Arrow Keys – Move character/highlight command/etc. Z Key – Select/Activate/Open/Talk/etc. X Key – Menu (when in the field)/Cancel (when in menus) Shift Key – Hold to run Alt+Enter – Full Screen 306 maps! 141 items! 118 weapons! 109 individual enemies and bosses! 48 pieces of armor! 26 towns and dungeons! 8 years in the making! 4 playable characters! 1 massive game! 3. Mark your calendars, people! My first game, Power Master 1: A Strange Journey, comes out on March 26th of this year! I spent a long time making this game and now I finally have enough information to solidify a release date! This trailer shows off the content you can find in my game, from areas to characters to weapons/item to the enemies! This game is almost done!!! A few more sprites are needed along with some final testing, and then it's ready to be released! I was originally going to include my voice for this trailer, but decided against it because 1) My recording equipment sucks and 2) I didn't want to make it seem like voice acting was in the game. I know how to do so, but like I said, my equipment sucks, so I'm saving that idea for a future game. So for this trailer, you'll have to read the text, but I tried to keep it on screen long enough for everyone to read it. Questions? Comments? Analyses? Tell me below! You may discover some secrets if you look closely at the trailer enough... Learn more and download the demo at http://www.powermastergame.webs.com I'm honestly not sure whether to put this in creative or general gaming...
  4. My game is nearing completion as all I have left are the sprites. My brother has been drawing them for a long time now (since June, I think), but has now hit a slump and is too focused on his own work to continue. So for one final time, I am asking for help on here. Conditions: This is a freely made game and will be downloaded for free, so no money. Sorry. Parameters and concepts for the sprites can be sent to whomever accepts this request. They are battle and over-world sprites with no animations, so it's a simple still sprite, unless otherwise needed. My brother has done a majority of the work so far with 57 battle sprites made and about 20 over-world sprite sheets. About 30 battle sprites are left with maybe 5-8 needing over-world representatives. If you want to see how much work we've put into this, you can view the sprites and other game information here: http://powermastergame.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=15877642 It's almost done and I don't want to abandon the project. I've asked for help before back when the game was fairly new in development, but now that there's not much left to do, I'd figure I'd ask one last time. Please PM me or post here if you want to help!
  5. I am putting together an announcement trailer for my game, but was thinking about doing a little Q&A bit afterward. I asked around on my Facebook page, but no one responded. I guess it's not as interesting as I thought... So, I was wondering if anyone on here had any questions about my games or me in general to ask me! I'll pick a few from here and answer them in the video, so I won't respond on here directly. But I will say when I'm not taking questions on here anymore. It won't be for a while, though. My trailer will cover the overworld, how battles work/look, and, of course, the release date. Just a general overview of the game really. I don't know when the trailer, and consequently the Q&A, will be up, though. I have to wait until the release date becomes clearer.
  6. So, for those of you wanting to play my game idea, but are fed up with waiting, a demo has been released for you to download and play! It consists of only the first level and will only let you play as Stephan. The link to it has been posted on the main site, but I'll put it here as well for your convenience. http://powermaster.itch.io/power-master-1-demo If there's any problems, please tell me so I know what to fix. I'll post here again about the full version some time in 2016.
  7. As some of you may know by now, I have a new game idea in mind I would like to get out. I have spent many years drawing and re-drawing the game, but so far, little has been accomplished in terms of actually creating the game itself. This game is called Power Master, which is what I have named my profile after here on Serenes Forest. I know there are some talented people here on SF and was wondering if any of you would like to create something new. I want to make the first version of Power Master 1: A Strange Journey. The second version, the re-drawing, would probably be too big a task create right now, so let's focus on the first. The first version just has the characters Stephan, Jennifer, Hamilton, and Helen as the main characters. No one else like Stan, Kyra, or Andrew you would see on the site. Those are for the remake. I don't care if the game turns out to be 8-bit, Polygonal, or HD; I just want the game made. I am pretty much desperate at this point to get the game out now. I have spent some time learning how to use programs such as Unity or RPGMaker, but have since learned that I cannot do this alone. I have some programming experience, but hardly any, so, if you decide to work with me, I will likely be issueing commands as to how I want this game to go instead. I do not have a way to pay you for your work, but I will not let it go unrewarded. Have a character or level in mind you want to put into a game? I'll see if it's possible to add it in! (As long as the character is kept at a T rating or below). As for the game itself, PM1 acts like a basic RPG: Fight monsters, level-up, explore dungeons, etc. Though I'm sure if we spend enough making the game, it will turn out great! Already, there are levels based off of generic RPG locations, such as volcanos, castle, etc, but also large mazes, anti-gravity chambers, and even giant instruments! So far, the game is living up to it's "Strange Journey" title. If you would like to check out what I have in mind, visit the website at www.powermastergame.webs.com. There you will find pictures (under pictures) and a story based off of what I have created (under games), albet for the remake. If you would like to work together, PM me here on SF or message me from the site (under contact) with what you are able to do. As of now, I do not have a Skype account or a working camera, so don't expect any video chats any time soon. So, yeah! Let me know what you think and if you'd like to work together. I'm sure this will be a rewarding experience. Also, due to life, there will be times where you don't hear from me for some time. Honestly, I should look at getting a camera... Yep! In case you were wondering, Power Master has been on paper since 2010 or 11. I look forward to working with you!
  8. I've been a member since March, but I never bothered to do any introduction until now. I got bored... Anyway, my name I'm using here, Power Master, means two things: One is a personal title, I'm very good and knowledgeable about many Nintendo-made games, though I have been known to play a PlayStation or Xbox game every now and then. Second reason is a bit more meaningful to me, it's the title of my very own game series I hope to make one day. Think Mario's imagination meets Zelda's exploration meets Fire Emblem's characters. I've been working on the game for a while, as you can see by looking at my site, but so far, little has been accomplish in terms of actually making the dang thing. I'm still learning my way around Unity... I enjoy talking to people and the outdoors, though my autism and allergies make it somewhat difficult. I also have Tourette's which adds to the fun. You've probably heard of it, a mental tick that causes people to twitch or make a loud noise? Mine is a cough-like noise... It's gets painful after a while... I'm not gonna be the kind of guy that constantly asks for followers or friends (I don't really see the point) but if you wanna be friends, sure! Just expect some awkward moments when you talk to me... Anyway, there's that. If you want to learn more about my game ideas, the links are on my profile page. If you wanna help, it'll be appreciated, but don't go stealing my ideas. I'll know...
