  1. So i finished sacred stones a couple days a go and liked it for the most part. Not among my favorites bit all in all a good story line and great game.
  2. So I just started ephiraims route along with eirikas and I wanted to know why people think ch 11 is hard. Because I just blew right threw it, is it hard mode that makes it hard?
  3. So who should I focus on. Like who are the best units that i should put time into. I heard that both joshua and marissa are good gerik and Ephraim too.
  4. I'm doing a little bit of imagework, and I would like to know if anyone has a reference to the background as seen in the preparations menu (pictured below). I'd like to put my own work on top of it, if that helps explain what I'm going for.
  5. Heya, I've got two questions! Would it be possible to reimplement the Tale selection screen from FE7? That is, the screen from which you choose whether to play Lyn's, Eliwood's, or Hector's Story when starting a new file (and where you choose which out of Eliwood's and Hector's to proceed down after completing Lyn's)? I wanted to allow for a choice of which character to follow at the beginning of my hack, and it'd be lovely if I could use that screen for it instead of a boring ol' pure-text menu. How feasible would it be to add new Affinities? I'm talking about increasing the total number of Affinities in the game, not just changing the icons and properties of existing Affinities. It was my plan to add in Tellius' Water, Earth, and Heaven Affinities, each with their own unique sets of bonuses, for a total of 10 different Affinity types. How might one go about doing this? Thanks in advance!
  6. Apologies in advance if this has already been answered, I couldn't find anything in my searches. Is there any way for me to remove (or skip) the intro cutscene/s that play during the beginning of Sacred Stones? Specifically, the "In an age long past..." and "The Continent of Magvel" scenes, that play before the Prologue title card. I'm able to do anything past that point without much issue, but I've no idea how to remove those two scenes. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hey y'all! So, I believe the topic title says it all, but I'll elaborate here. So I bought an actual GBA cartridge of Blazing Sword and I lent it to my friend months ago and he's been playing it regularly and he'd come over and I'd watch him play it, and all that jazz. But everything was fine until a few days ago, he came over and all of the save files were deleted. He played the game that same day with the files intact but just in the span of a few hours all three save files were gone. Thankfully I didn't have any personal save files on it, and he was three chapters away from the final chapter, and I still had my save of the final chapter on the Wii U virtual console, so I showed him some cutscenes online had him play the final chapter, THANK GOD! Cause that way was better then things being anti-climactic. But I was really wondering what could have done that and if anyone else had any experiences like that in any of their FE GBA games? I looked a little online and I think the obvious answer would be the battery, but I thought Nintendo fixed that problem with the GBA. My Pokemon Sapphire and Emerald both had their batteries run dry and they can still save (they can't tell time but that's... that's another topic). Also the support log in my Blazing Sword is still intact. It even kept the supports that my friend got on his play through. So that's everything I got to say! Looking forward to what people have to say... that is... if people see this... THANKS!
  8. * Has there even been a stronger monster mod for The Sacred Stones that improves the strength of the monster classes? The closest I've seen is the old monster quest mod, which gave revenants the ability to steal, and merged the Skeleton weapon variants into one class. * Has there ever been a hack almost entirely focused on fighting Monster classes instead of humans? This would of course need more weapons, and stuff for the monsters to use, such as a healing monsters. Manaketes could possibly be added too? * Has anyone ever implemented a class that uses physical, and magic weapons? Is it even possible with the GBA engine? * Have people ever tried making more Dragonstones for Manaketes to use? As in a new Dragon transformation, and weapon? Or added the Manakete class to Blazing Sword.
  9. As you might know, I will be finishing my Randomized Fire Emblem 6 Let's Play soon. However, at the time I want to play some other games besides just that. I have a poll that I want you guys to vote on. You can also post on this forum what other games you would like to see me play! I hope you guys vote a lot for which you would want to see me play and I hope to see you all and more in the near future! :) Here is the link to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOtD_gACSlGrSaDyxtNeGTw Here is the link to my Randomized Fire Emblem 6: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLse8DG1LjyttsJzVidFColEnsbhV09H5l
  10. I now they don't seem to be planning to have tSS cards anytime soon. However it's cool to speculate to what unique mechanic it'll have. First, the SACRED TWINS (the weapons) Basically taking the Cain and Abel knight mechanic in previous series and cranking it up to 11. IE Great Lords Eirika and Ephraim with sieglinde and Sigmund respectively. Or Falcon Knight Tana and Sniper Innes for Vidofnir and Nidhogg respectively. Second, something with the trainees. But I have no idea how.
  11. Does anyone know an easy way to get Bael's to spawn on Zaha woods after the 11th chapter onwards on the world map? Thanks for any help rendered in advance
  12. I started a Sacred Stones Randomizer and guess who replaced Seth. I am currently in Chapter 3, and I can't wait to train a General with 8 Movement and 9 Speed (even though it's Lv 1). Edit: I forgot to ask: I would love to see more of this ridiculously OP randomized units, so please Reply with an image of your strongest unit from an FE Randomizer. Thanks. XD
  13. Yes you did indeed read the title of this topic correctly, I have never played a Fire Emblem game. I've wanted to play one for a while now and so I asked one of my friends whcih game I should start with. He originally replied with FE7, but then changed his decision to FE8 which is what I'll be playing through. I must start off with saying that I do know most of the basic things about Fire Emblem like the weapon triangle, which stats do what, and that I should "Share the experience" as my friend calls it. Any questions I ask about the story are completely my own thoughts and I do not want answers to them. Any tips or suggestions on how to play the game or which characters I should use would be greatly appreciated. I will be playing Fire Emblem Sacred Stones on Normal difficulty. I'm not sure if this usual Fire Emblem stats, but holy crud look at those stats! (I probably sound like the biggest noob ever) Despite Seth having good stats I used Eirika the entire Prologue Map and I managed to KO everyone with her. She got a critical on the very first boss and destroyed him immediately. This seems like a good level up to me. Hopefully I'm not wrong. And this was my entire Fire Emblem Sacred Stones Prologue Chapter in a nutshell. I don't have much to say on the story since it currently seems pretty generic, but my friend has told me it gets better, so I shall listen. Thank you for reading and hopefully I don't get everyone horribly dead and maimed.
  14. I am randomizing Sacred Stones. I am playing on Normal but increasing enemy growths by 10%. Weapons have random traits also. Characters are Recruited in random order and Random Classes. Can't wait to be screwed by the randomizer. Eirika got randomized into a Cavalier Ephraim. Probably wont be too bad for my lord. on the other hand Seth is a General Natasha. um... I don't think Natasha's defense will get much better. well now I guess seth went from a Oifrey to a Jeigen Franz is Gerik and my first monster Gilliam is Fado and a cavalier Vanessa is Amelia and she is a recruit moulder is hayden and a myrmidon um.... Ross is Innes.... AND HE IS A DANCER! I got real lucky with him dodging so Garcia is Joshua and josh is STILL a myrmidon!
  15. What will happen when Eirika/Ephraim normally promote? Eirika's a male lord and Ephraim's a cavalier, but I also have Joshua and Kyle as male lords and Garcia as a female lord Don't mind resetting if I have to because I'm on chapter 7 and I STILL don't have a priest or cleric (Moulder was randomized to Myrmidon, Natasha was randomized to archer)
  16. So I was thinking earlier, what if children were a feature in other Fire Emblem games and then Sacred Stones came to mind. So, this thread is what you guys think the kids of a certain pairing will be. You can list their personality, class and any other cool things about them.
  17. I changed Seth's class to Archer (F) and made him female in both his recruitment AND his character, but he's still a paladin? His stats changed (I changed them) and he did get the bow I gave him, but he has his other weapons and his weapon ranks (in addition to a bow rank I gave him). Do I need to do more? Thanks!
  18. I've gotten to the point where you decide who's Journey to cover. Ephraim or Erikia. Who should I go with and what are the advantages?
  19. So, since my former playthrough was off topic far too boring, I decided to do something a little more interesting this time around. Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, A 5-Character Run. This challenge idea came to me waaaaaaaaaaay back when, and it's inspired by Ephraim's end-game statement: I will be doing Ephraim's route (as honestly, I have ALWAYS played Ephraim's route, and do not truly have as much knowledge about Eirika's route for this sort of thing. Besides, I like Ephraim's route more than Eirika's. I like Ephraim more than Eirika, period. In fact, I'm an Ephraim fangirl so SPHEAL WITH IT. THE CHOSEN HEROES Ephraim (Lances*) Franz -> Great Knight (Swords*, Spears, Axes) Ross -> Fighter -> Warrior (Axes*, Bows) Neimi -> Ranger (Bows*, swords) Artur -> Sage (Light*, Anima, Staves) * = S rank. I tried to make a lineup that covers as many of the ancient weapons as possible... Utility Characters Eirika (Forced unit for first 7 chapters) Vanessa (For rescuing in ch2, distracting the spider in chapter 6) Any character which recruits another character RULES! 1: Only the five chosen characters may participate in combat. 2: All other units must have their weapons stripped off of them to prevent accidental attacking 3: The prologue, ch1, and possibly chapter 5x are exempt to the above rules for obvious reasons. 4: Eirika may see battle for the first 7 chapters, but after that, must not be used. Not even in the final chapter, despite being forced in that one. 5: Utility characters may be used, but they are not allowed to actually attack. 6: Nobody may die. 7: The Tower of Valni may only be used to increase levels before promotion. So obviously, in the end this isn't going to TRULY be a five-character run, but whatever. Technicalities aside, the goal here is to win 90% of the game with only five characters and prove Ephraim wrong, only for him to say it anyway because the devs didn't think of everything. XD This will be recorded, but I won't be actually commenting in the video, as it takes far too long for me to do that sort of thing, and it's usually why I lose interest in LP's to begin with. SO, HERE WE GO! Chapter 1, where I ATTEMPT to follow the rules, but unfortunately had to break them due to issues:
  20. Hello there! well I have been playing this hack called Fire Emblem Girls for quite some time and I am enjoying it a lot! I am at the final chapter now but gonna Tower abuse and Ruin abuse after in creature campaign. Now there are a few things about this hack that I still do not know despite me playing all the way up to the last chapter. I will list them below ah and did I mention this thing is ridiculous hard? i could have sworn I picked normal mode Lol. 1.What are the stat caps on this game? I went to the lagdou Runis and saw a skeleton with 50 strength!! what the heck is going on there? is that a bug there is no way they can be THAT HARD right? I think HP maxes at 80?? I noticed this hack has the flavor of SNES Fire Emblem games and I really like that since I loved the SNES era the most so I am really enjoy the HP not 60 cap as 60 is way too low for HP heck maybe I am still wrong and HP caps even higher. 2.How does weapon weight work in this game? is it still Con - weight of weapon? or Str - weight of weapon? I have on many occasions had enemies able to double attack my units despite them either having an almost equal speed stat or a speed stat that matches. Manaketes are very guilty of this actually manaketes got slighty downgraded here before they used to be the terror of the battlefield now.. I find they get Ok`ed easily darn weak dragon stones but maybe i can fix it with increased Con I hope. 3.How many times can that Knights crown Promotion item be used? and is it`s purpose what I think it is for? I have come to think after using it the purpose is to make it so your units stat caps can go further I believe that is how you get stats of 50 or higher? by repeated use of it? so when does it come to for them to stop being used? stats do have limits in this game right?? and is it possible to max stats without the use of this item? as there are certain units I would like to keep in their base classes like for example Selena she joins as a Mage Knight I would like her to stay as one but also able to ma stats the item does not give here choice to class swap to Mage knight again I am not a big fan of swapping classes. 4.Is it my eyes or do the monsters inside the Tower of Valni and Lagdou Ruins every visit getting stronger and stronger? the last time I went to the tower the enemies seemed to jump to Level 39 and higher seeing Zombies and skeletons walking around with max stats.. is not.. normal Monsters are not supposed to be a threat like that gah especially in the Tower of all places that was supposed to be a level grinding spot but it is not safe to train weak units there anymore it seems. Well with the use of Mine bug it can be possible but without no. So yeah do enemies get stronger each visit? this is starting to remind me of Romancing Saga the stronger you got the stronger the monsters and i level grind a lot so... But anyway yeah I just wanted to know that stuff as I plan on 100% completing the game so i need to know what stat caps are so I can max out every unit. I wanna record a video of this game some day and show off the ruins and tower but it won`t happen with enemy units walking around with 50 stats.
  21. Well I've gotten no replies to any of my questions and I know I'm probably behind on rom hacking as most people seemed to be doing so in 2010-11. I am trying to add FE-7 and 8 sprites/portraits, chapters, music in one. I've found so far the only way to add without replacing is adding in HXD so I wondered where free space is in sacred stones.gba. Starting at offset 00E47180 FF FF FF FF FF...... FF FF FF............ and above that 00 00 00..... 00 00 00........ appear in many places. Are all of those chunks free space to add characters and will this add to my nightmare character modules? Also, do you know any other offsets I am free to edit without ruining my rom? Blazer if you see this how did you put FE7 and FE8 characters in the same game as seen on youtube and is that rom available to download? Thanks, sorry I'm so nooby at this stuff.
  22. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. The soulless creatures of Grimm threatened to return Man's brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time Mans passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named, Dust. Natures wrath in hand, Man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadows absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. ...or so the legends say. (Thanks to Eldi13 for the title screen background) Intro ----- Fire Emblem: Dust to Dust is a FE8/RWBY crossover hack, set in a Fire Emblem version of Remnant. Despite living in a hostile land, stalked by the soulless creatures of Grimm, the world at large has been at peace for generations. Everything changes when the White Fang, a once peaceful Faunus rights organization, attacks the kingdom of Schnee without warning. This sudden act of terrorism will ignite a fire that consumes all of Remnant, and lay bare the terrible truth of their world. Demo patch now available! Consists of one demo-exclusive chapter: GET IT NOW Stuff! ----- [spoiler=Story!] PART I OUTLINE Prologue: White Fang forces assault Castle Schnee without warning, and Weiss is forced to fight her way out and flee to Vale with a small group of retainers. Her father remains behind for some reason. Chapter 1: On the border of Vale, they are found and attacked by White Fang scouts. They must defeat the scouts quickly before the main force arrives. Chapter 2: Weiss reaches Beacon but her location is betrayed by Mercury and Emerald. The White Fang infiltrate Beacon and Weiss and co must fight them off while protecting the students.Following the failed attack, Mercury and Emerald escape to report to the mysterious Cinder. Weiss decides to leave before reinforcements arrive. Ozpin gives her some supplies and sends some allies with her, but cannot do more. Chapter 3-4: They decide that the best course of action is to seek refuge in Atlas. They require a guide to get through Forever Fall. Ruby offers to take them if they will help her find Yang in the forest. They enter the forest and fight off waves of Grimm, where they find Yang defending a wounded Blake. Passing through the forest, they reach the home of a Gelb, a distant Schnee relative. He is creepy and unpleasant, but his castle is well fortified and he is definitely not White Fang. He tells them that Winter is currently in Atlas, but the Atlesian politicians are cowards and will never agree to help. Chapter 5: Blake is uneasy and sneaks out of her room that night. She discovers that Gelb is enslaving Faunus and forcing them to fight captured Grimm for sport. With his crimes revealed, Gelb turns on the group, using the slaves as human shields. Chapter 6: Faced with the reality of Faunus subjugation, Weiss wonders if the White Fang is justified. Blake reveals herself as a Faunus, and condemns the White Fangs disregard for innocents. Suddenly she tackles Weiss just as an arrow flies in the window. The army must hold the line against waves of White Fang troops. Finally when all hope seems lost, a squadron of Pegasus Knights led by Winter swoops in, followed closely by the Atlesian military smashing into the rear of the White Fang. Chapter 7: Weiss and Winter return to Castle Schnee with the full might of Atlas behind them. While the Atlesians launch a feigned frontal assault, Weiss and co sneak into the castle via secret passages and take the White Fang by surprise. They defeat the White Fang Lieutenant and retake the castle. Its too soon to celebrate, however. They soon discover that all of the Dust in the castle is gone, stolen by the White Fang. Was this their real motive all along? Winter has more bad news she promised to give Atlas huge amounts of Dust in exchange for their aid. The Atlesian senators are irate and take control of Castle Schnee. Meanwhile, Ruby runs into a strange girl named Penny. In a darkened room, Cinder meets with one of the senators. END OF PART I [spoiler=Animations!] Weiss: Blake: Yang: Ruby: Pyrrha: [spoiler=Mugs!] Ruby Weiss Blake Yang Jaune Nora Pyrrha Ren Coco Sun Scarlet Sage Neptune Penny Winter [spoiler=Music!] All of these MP3s are recorded in game from the Sound Room. They use my FE8 Native Instruments Map. - Red Like Roses - Red Like Roses Part II - Mirror, Mirror - From Shadows - I Burn - This Will Be The Day - Time to Say Goodbye - Wings - Die - I May Fall - All Our Days (Thanks to Lucky13 for transcribing most of these) [spoiler=Misc.] World Map: Random screenshots: ---------- and yes, there will be dragons
  23. I have downloaded the randomizer, fix patch, and followed the instructions (swapping 7 for 8 where needed) found here: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=46886 When I go into the randomized file I will get Eirika as, say a wyvernrider. They use lances. The item I get from Seth is still a rapier which causes the game to not work. Anyone know what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance!
  24. While I have played sacred stones before in the past, it was when I was still relatively new to the franchise, so it was on the easiest difficulty... That and I used a copious amount grinding. I'm attempting to play it again after nearly a year or so, this time on a higher difficulty due to my increase in FE knowledge, so I wanted to ask. Who are some of the best units? I've heard Seth unlike most jaigens (not sure if spelled right :/) is actually very good but than again I've learned to take stuff I read on the Internet with a grain of salt, so I'm not sure...
  25. Well, everyone else is doing one and the game's relatively short so hell, I might as well throw everything into the blender and see what transpires. Using the same settings as Klok's LP so...let's get this random party started! [spoiler=Prologue & Ch1: Monster Quest] Yeah, I'm no weakling. Go big or go home for challenge I say! Someone hit the red button and changed everyone. Names, classes, you name it, the jerk that hit the red button likely caused it. Apparently the enemy hates monsters. I suppose they aren't anyone we know, right? Oh hey, there's a king...who was really a monster this whole time. That being said, he doesn't seem too bad. That speed is likely going to lead him into being doubled before long, meaning he's going to need to travel very carefully as the game progress, but good starting magic & resistance scores means he's no slouch at dealing damage right out of the gate. Being a flyer gives him some utility too, allowing him to reach important points in a map before anyone else potentially. If one king wasn't enough, how about two? Fado's having none of this dying bullshit on his home turf and he too turned himself into a monster. Lots of move, acceptable bases. Should be able to help Hayden mop up the joint if needed. Just a reminder that Hayden isn't very tanky right now. Since I want to feed him as much experience as possible, I'm going to have to get a bit crafty. By crafty, I mean Fado stands in front of Hayden and trades his weapon away to him so he can act as a giant monster-esque wall to which the enemies will have to put in some serious work to break down. Like so. I've got six Vulneraries to burn so Fado can keep on tanking hits like this. Not much needs to be said about my strategy here. Hayden keeps plinking away while Fado uses a Vulnerary so he can keep up with his tanking duties. Repeat until Hayden drops the two nobodies. You know, assuming he can hit said nobodies in the first place. After a good 4-5 rounds of a giant eye nuking things, there's only the leader and...oh god that's another monster, haha. So I'm 3/3 on player units & bosses being monsters. I'd love to see this keep up honestly. In any case, O'Neill has a ton of speed, enough to double the two monster kings, but he's no stronger physically than his lackeys. All this means is that Fado will likely take 6 damage a round compared to 3 damage. Fado rushes forward into a forest and pops another Vulnerary as he's going to be tanking again. Monsters wanting to kill other monsters...oddly amusing to be honest. That high speed does mean O'Neill will be a bit tricky to hit, but luckily for Hayden, he nails both of his attacks over the next two turns, killing O'Neill. Considering he's gotten all the kills thus far, something else happens... Hayden's first level! Not that bad actually since he can now hit harder and be more accurate, two things he'll sorely need if that speed is anything to go by. Eirika really needs to lay off the drinks because monsters are appearing everywhere, but whatever, chapter 1 time now! Not much to say about the start here. Fado uses his turn to take back his Demon Surge weapon since I'm going to need him ready for offensive strikes if needed. Meanwhile, Hayden gets as close to the Soldier's attack range without being in it as he can. He'll take a hit most likely from the Fighter in the next enemy phase, but he'll be fine. I think he's even seeing through this whole farce...or maybe he's drunk too, who knows? You didn't miss much here. Just Hayden trading blows with that Fighter. Reinforcements for us, but obviously they aren't who they say they are. Oh hey Ephraim, fancy meeting you this early. Problem here is that his magic is abysmal and he's not that much faster than Hayden. Hopefully his growths don't disappoint. Please please please have awesome growths Saleh. Amazing bases, high move, and a flyer to top it all off. Ephraim's 2 magic just hurts him so badly. He needs to feed off of very low hp enemies if he wants to get anywhere. Saleh though kicks all kinds of ass. Give him some Vulneraries and he'll likely be able to fend for himself if needs to fly somewhere dangerous. Fado wipes out a Fighter while Hayden finishes off the Fighter he counterattacked last turn, picking up the same level he got in the prologue. Enemy phase highlight right here folks. Saleh promptly kills the foolish Soldier on his counterattack. Saleh still owns face as he continues to either ORKO or OHKO his opponents. He grabs a bit of an underwhelming level after counterkilling a Soldier, but whatever. Strong bases ensure he'll be pretty good up to at least lv8-10. Oh sure, more random mooks to slay. Going to let Ephraim lure in one Fighter and do some damage via a counterattack with everyone else out of range and ready to pounce on the enemy trio in the next turn. Some people can murder well enough. Others would murder if they could actually hit their targets. That's why Fado's here to correct said failure to murder. You didn't miss anything on the enemy phase aside from the Soldier & Ephraim trading blows. The Soldier is weak enough that Ephraim can finish him off on the next player phase, leaving only the boss to deal with. Another monster as a boss, fantastic. Too bad he sucks besides his modest hp total. Between just about everyone getting in some random hits for lulzs and unneeded rescue shenanigans (Fado rescued Saleh just in case someone wanted to attack the boss at melee range), the boss falls to an attack by Hayden who picks up another level. No magic in this one, but he gets some precious hp which is just as important. He then seizes on the next turn. Ephraim confirmed to be a secret agent working undercover without the girls noticing. That concludes this update. [spoiler=Growths & Comments (Hayden, Fado, Ephraim, Saleh)]Hayden's growths: Hp: 15% Luk: 20% Mag: 80% Def: 0% Skl: 100% Res: 80% Spd: 20% Eh, he's going to become more and more of a liability as the game progresses with those kind of hp & spd growths. Not as worried about him having no def growth as that simply means he'll need to ensure that there's no physical bearing enemies near him when he ends a turn. Fado's growths: Hp: 25% Luk: 30% Mag: 0% Def: 45% Skl: 60% Res: 95% Spd: 75% If there's a 0% in someone's growths, it had better not be in a stat they're going to need desperately. Fado clearly didn't get this. Hopefully the enemies don't get too resistance blessed later on. Alternatively, I get another Gorgon that rocks the house down the line. Ephraim's growths: Hp: 45% Luk: 35% Mag: 25% Def: 35% Skl: 55% Res: 70% Spd: 50% 2 magic with a 25% growth sucks, but his other growths aren't horrid. I guess I'll give him a chance and see if he gets enough lucky magic level ups for himself. May even consider promoting him if I don't run into a staff user quickly enough, just to have a staffbot available. Saleh's growths: Hp: 105% Luk: 50% Str: 25% Def: 0% Skl: 45% Res: 0% Spd : 15% Dammit Saleh, I thought we had something special going on here and you decide to have god awful strength & speed growths. Even so though, his fantastic bases coupled with flyer capabilities means he should stay relevant for awhile.
