  1. Hello, recently I've been looking at stat modifiers and just been wondering what you guys think are some of the best Assets/Flaws for your Avatar/mu. I came up with at least one asset and flaw for each stat, and these are what I've made up so far. (The modifiers go in order by each stat listed in FE:A) i.e. HP, STR, MAG, SKILL, SPD, LCK, DEF, RES... and will be listed as the solo number. Those are a few (9) that I made to try to balance the stats for each type of asset as best as I could. I just made these for future MU's that I want to make, but I don't want them to have two big of gaps in their stats. Tell me what you think of these! And if you have any other combinations please do share~! Also, here is what each Asset and Flaw does to your modifiers :) All Assets that are 4, 2, and 2 will have flaws of themselves of 3, 1 and 1.
  2. Both in the traditional sense of western societies, your opinion of the universal aspects of these adjectives, and how you think characters would think of different classes within their worlds. For my initial list I'm primarily taking into consideration this last explanation. Note that I've only played the localized games with the exception of not having finished Sacred Stones, so I'm only including the classes I've seen in-game. Everyone familiar with different classes from the other entries in the series is free to add classes that are significantly different than those listed here. I’m excluding the various axe / lance knight type distinctions, along with laguz, manaketes and the like being compared to humans. I'm also excluding "unique classes", e.g. Raven King, Dark God, ect. and classes that are not inherent to a character (e.g. Bride). My rough estimate for the classes: Feminine to Masculine, in order -------Feminine-------- Dancer Troubadour Falcon Knight Pegasus Knight Dark Flier Cleric ------------ Gender Neutral--------- Trickster Priest Mage Thief Rogue Wyvern Rider Wyvern Lord / Dragonlord Griffin Rider Archer Sniper Sage Assassin Myrmidon Swordmaster Paladin Cavalier -----------Masculine---------- Lord Great Lord Dark Mage Sorcerer / Druid Horseman Soldier Halberdier Great Knight (Awakening) Knight Bishop General Mercenary Hero Fighter Warrior Bandit Berserker And just for fun, continuing the trend of feminine to masculine: For Laguz: --Feminine-- Heron --Gender Neutral-- Cat Raven Hawk Wolf Dragon Lion Tiger Weapons (one of the easier ones simply taking into account typical weights and consequent feasibility of wielding each): Axes Lances Swords Bows Daggers Magic (this one I feel is extremely open to debate and interpretation, so I'm quite curious as to what everyone will think): Lightning Dark Wind Fire Light
  3. Thanks to my puzzle mentality, I'm trying to figure out an ideal way to allocate all 25 promoted classes among the first generation (yes, including the maligned Bow Knight and Griffon Rider; this is a matter of principle, not raw power). Anna, Tiki, Flavia, and Basilio are not counted for this exercise. Only problem is, I keep ending up with someone in a class they're not suited for (usually Bow Knight Ricken). I'm tempted to blame Libra's extremely constricted class choices for this...{sigh} At least there are some aspects that keep popping up that one can work around, besides the usual ones (i.e. Chrom-Great Lord, Robin-Grandmaster, etc.): Sully-Griffon Rider Cherche-Wyvern Lord Henry-Berserker (...maybe) Sumia-Dark Flier Cordelia-Falcon Knight (even if their basal class choices would suggest the reverse) Part of it is that I tried comparing each character's stat modifiers to their stat growth rates to get a sense of where innate talent (modifiers) and aptitude (growth rates) intersected. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that (for example) resistance growth is on the low side as a matter of course; I don't think anybody gets above 50% for that (skill growth, meanwhile, never seems to dip below 45% from my recollections). I like to think of this in terms of figuring out everyone's as-close-to-canon-as-the-game's-precepts-will-allow classes, but...this is getting a bit frustrating...
  4. There have been plenty of threads about which classes play the best, but what about the classes that look the best? We're talking 100% aesthetics here. The actual effectiveness of any of the classes doesn't come into question. I think the best looking is the myrmidon class. I love classes that use fur, and the emblem on the sash takes the cake for me. The worst in my opinion goes to the Hero class. I don't what Intelligence Systems were thinking, making one of the best classes in the game look the most ridiculous. I don't even want Ike's DLC character because I think his avatar and portrait look silly. The only character in the game with a decent looking hero avatar is Flavia. Sucks that it's character exclusive to her, though.
  5. Here's another opinion thread: Which classes do you dislike the most (for your units to be). Mine are: #3 Sniper. Sniper gets surrounded, sniper gets hosed. The only real way to make this class work in your favor is to have Pass, which is a LV 15 Assassin skill. #2 Taguel. I love Panne and Yarne, but I hate this class. Low resistance and no way of fighting back make this class incredibly weak to magic. The only likable thing about this class is Beastbane. #1: Griffin Rider. Here's a recipe for a terrible class. Take one part low resistance, mix it with mediocre skills, and sprinkle it with the fact that it's a flying unit and you get a class that has a tendency to be one-shotted by wind magic. Good luck avoiding wind magic... So, do you agree with me? What are your least favorite classes?
  6. Awakening, unlike most other Fire Emblems, encourage the player to experiment with character classes and find what works best for them. This being said, which characters who's original classes do you tend to keep the same throughout your playthroughs. And when I say original classes I'm including promotions as well. IE: Turning Severa into a Hero or a Bow Knight is still keeping her in her original class.
  7. Here's my problem; I'm ready to learn about any complex and long hacking proccess, but I don't know how, and want to change my unit's class into a manakete, and things as such, targetting FE: Mystery of the Emblem/Heroes of Light and Shadow only. I made my little research first of course. It led me to Rasdel's extra classes save data, but there's something that bothers me about playing with someone else's character... I hate being picky. My apologies. The point of having My Unit is to be your avatar to play through the game. The hairstyle is the only thing I could legitimately change. Also Rasdel has been offline since September 2013, I don't think I can contact him to ask any questions...
  8. So. I'm conflicted. Either get with Cherche (not my favorite girl) and have an unholy death beast named Gerome. (He's my favorite) Who's final class will be dread fighter (Gerome belongs in black ;)) Or, Go with one of the hottest girls ( To me, Panne) and get an unholy death beast Yarne (which is kind of funny). Who will final in either taguel or Dread fighter. I'd also want him to have pairing with whoever gives him the least cowardly conversations :p Either one will end up with his pairing girl being a bride class. Any opinions? I'm conflicted. lol.
  9. Is it possible to skip the class change animations? For some reason, the game won't let me class change fighters/warriors, and axe paladins (it's possible that there are more, but I haven't class changed every class). And I can turn the Wii on/off 10 times, before it will finally work, but I don't feel like doing it, because it takes forever.
  10. One of the best comparison is Paladin compared to General. Paladins have the same defense as Generals(though its harder to reach for most units) in addition to superior all around and higher movement. The only caps General has above Paladin is STR by 2 and Luck by 5, everything is either equal or much lower then Paladins. A similar comparison is Horseman vs Swordmasters, where the only stat Swordmaster has an advantage is skill by 1 point. Every other Horseman Cap is equal or Superior to the SwordMasters. I still love the DS games, but I wonder whats up with those stat caps? Perhaps Swordmaster and General were really just intended for quick utility rather then final classes.
  11. For Henry!Owain, I'm not sure what class to go for. Trickster- Skill and high magic, with not too bad strength. Also has ability to use staves Dread Fighter- High stats all around, swords and magic, useful as a support unit Sorcerer- Don't really think I need to say anything here. Sage- High magic, but loses swords and renders Henry's strength mod pointless. Use of staves EDIT: I added in dark knight. It has high magic and can be a really good mixed tank. While I'm at it, I'm going to add in a poll for Inigo's most optimal father. I'm leaning towards Virion at the moment.
