  1. I'm looking for at least a couple, I love genealogy and have been looking for these for a bit now, I can't seem to find any on ebay or any other equivalent I've seen.
  2. So it looks like Nintendo is in the process of starting up a loot crate subscription service. Similar to Loot Crate things like toys, shirts, and memoribilia will be given in monthly packages to their subscribers except it will all be Nintendo themed. Before you get your hopes up too much though it appears as if this will be a UK only thing given that its being planned with the UK retailer Zavii which runs its own Z-box service via The Hut Group. First boxes are set to hit in September. I really hope this expands stateside since I (and many others) would kill to have a subscription to a service like this in lieu of the disbandment of Club Nintendo. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/07/nintendo_is_planning_its_own_loot_crate-style_subscription_service http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/nintendo-set-to-offer-loot-crate-subscription-box-rival/0153435
  3. So if you have been around Gamestop.com lately you will have noticed that they are now selling retro titles, consoles, and accessories from the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, and Dreamcast. http://www.gamestop.com/collection/retro-classics They are not yet selling them in store unfortunately but the prices are pretty similar to amazon and ebay if not slightly more expensive for some titles. Console packages are not too bad although NES, SNES are not in stock. To be honest it doesn't really save you any money and the prices are not the best. Further adding problems is that other than the consoles they don't detail all you are getting (manual case etc). I was kind of hoping they would move towards having this stuff in store given the surge in popularity in retro titles. While it would take up shelf space I do think it would behoove them in an age of digital downloads to sell retro stuff physically in the store. Moreover being a bigger chain company they can afford to sell these things for much less than mom and pop shops and still profit off it which perplexes me as to why they are not cheaper (yes I know they want to maximize profit but if you're offering the same price as everyone else then there is no incentive to buy your stuff over others). Anyhow check it out see if you find anything you fancy.
  4. With the compatability of Amiibo confirmed for Fire Emblem If and its surge in popularity as a series its got me wondering if we will see a seperate Fire Emblem line of Amiibo perhaps even starting with If. I don't think its a suprise that the Super Mario series got its own line because its viability to sell and while alot of people out there might contend that Fire Emblem might simply not get one because its not as popular consider that Amiibos across the board have been selling like hotcakes regardless of series/franchise. Additionally, its a venture that Nintendo has been highly profitable in and given the slow sales of the Wii U it is most welcome to them indeed. What are your thoughts on the idea of a Fire Emblem line of Amiibo? Do you even think there will be one in the first place? I know there are other threads (below) that talk about the Amiibo craze but I felt like the topic of a potentially seperate fire emblem line warranted a new disscussion geared towards that but if this is treading into already treaded terriotory go ahead and lock this thread please. 5. I don't normally like to just repost articles but this struck my eye as I have a fancy and hobby for collecting now. Gamestop is launching a pilot to buy and sell classic games, systems, and controllers dating back to the NES. The pilot will start on April 25th at which time they will accept trade ins for about 2 months to build up an inventory. Currently it is slated to launch in 250 store locations in the NYC and Birmingham markets. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/15/gamestop-to-offer-classic-consoles-and-games I fell pretty conflicted about this. On one hand if this becomes a hit and they do this across all their locations then it can make finding older games like Path of Radiance easier to find and not to mention cheaper than they go for on ebay sure they'd sell it to you for like $50 used but compare that to paying over $100 for a complete set. On the other hand if this does become big it'll be a major blow if not fatality to small mom and pop shops who deal in this kind of thing which kinda sucks. I didn't really see them coming out to do this as I always kinda thought of gamestop as keeping with the times and at most selling stuff a generation behind. However, the more I think about it with things like digital downloads, license keys, and the ebbing away of physical copies in new games I could see how this makes sense and is another avenue that they are trying to make money.
