  1. And I do mean "create." You're not dragging an old class from another Fire Emblem game and putting it in Awakening's roster. Let's say IS decided to do DLC again and add a new class to the game, and you were given creative authority on it. This class can be a standalone like the Dread Fighter or Bride or can be a new third tier class that caps at level 30. Please include Class Name, Weapons, 2 Skills (Since this is a DLC only class they'll be learned at levels 1 and 15. Just keep that in mind,) whether the class is gender exclusive or not; and finally, a brief description of the class that you would see at the promotion/reclassing screen. (If the class you create is the third tier to an existing class, please name the class it promotes from.) Now... Let me break the ice. Class Name: Warden Weapons: Spears & Tombs Skill 1: [Impale] - Allows the user to strike three times in one attack. Activation: Skill divided by 2. Skill 2: [Beastbreaker] - Increases Hit Rate & Evasion by 20% when fighting beast units. Gender Exclusivity: None Description: Wardens are knights who've trained in the wilderness to accumulate sharp instincts. They are especially deadly when facing beast units. Promotes From: None
  2. Hello FE fans. I have a few questions about DLC for Fire Emblem Awakening. I know this has been asked before, but I thought maybe some fresh opinions would be good, now that they've been out for so long, and whether they've withstood the test of time. Before I get into this, some info. I am a total newbie. I've never played any of the Fire Emblem series before, only vaguely heard of it. My only experience with turnbased strategy RPG games is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I have JUST finished Chapter 4, and unlocked the Outrealm Gate, only to discover there's TONS of DLC to buy. I Googled for the DLC, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different responses. Currently I have about 9 bucks on my 3DS account, so I can buy 1 DLC pack, or 2 separate ones. My birthday is coming up soon, and I'm probably going to ask for Nintendo Eshop cards. My playstyle is kinda like Pokemon. Gotta catch em all, rather OCD about experiencing and getting everything. I have narrowed it down a little bit, to these: Golden Pack: EXPonential Growth for XP grinding, Golden Gaffe for gold grinding, Infinite Regalia for good items. (I like such games, but I suck at them, I need every advantage I can get....) Future Past Pack: The history of the future children. More backstory is always good, especially in this manner. Scramble Pack: ...........Because I'm an anime fan, and a bit of a perv. =P (I'm not sure this is a good thing to pay money for...) Right now, I can only choose 1 of these 3. The other two I'd have to wait until after my birthday. So which one would you recommend I get first? SHOULD I even buy DLC, since I have only just started? Are there any other noteworthy DLC (packs) I "really should get"? Also, HI!
  3. Hector and Ephraim are my favourite lords, but I think it would also be good because they are from the first two Fire Emblem games released in America. Also, their personalities would be a good fit: Hector loves to fight, and Ephraim is the warrior prince. This won't make a difference, but I think that it would be awesome if they joined. Anyone agree?
  4. ... When I found out that a large chunk of characters from previous games were going to make an appearance in Awakening's downloadable content (DLC), I was actually pretty excited. I have a number of characters that I have labelled as my favorites in the past (Particularly in 6 through 8), so if I ever got the game, I could also purchase some DLC on the side to revisit them. What they did with them, in my opinion, is one of the most borderline unforgivable things you could possibly do with these characters, EVER. To be more specific, I'm talking about how in certain levels of the DLC, you actually have to fight AGAINST the legacy units. Yes, that is actually a thing now. Because I SO want to beat down on characters I connected with in the past. Lugh and Raigh from Binding Blade, my all-time favorite duo? I'm supposed to kill them. Other favorites (Sophia, Nino, Jaffar, etc.) from previous games? I'm also supposed to kill them. FUN, RIGHT?! Oh, and they also have their own heart-breaking death quotes when you defeat them. It's not like "Ah, darn it, you beat me," it really looks like they actually die on the pavement while your unit revels in triumph. FUN, RIGHT?! I would say that this is more of a personal problem than a true detriment in that regard, but I strongly feel like if you grew attached to ANY of these characters in the previous games, then chances are you won't have a good time having to kill them off as if they were generic enemy soldiers on a normal battle-field. Now, I understand that these levels are mere downloadable content, and they canonically never happened (Obviously), so I am willing to think I'm overreacting to this since they're completely optional and have nothing to do with Awakening's story, nor that of previous games. But why on Earth would the developers go out of their way to take arguably the most popular characters in their respective games and reduce them to nothing but a bunch of props? What were they thinking when they did this? Did they not at any point think that this would be incredibly distracting and somewhat heart-wrenching? Did they honestly not stop for a moment and think to themselves, "Hey, maybe simplifying fan favorites into a bunch of drones that the player is supposed to exterminate for some prize might not be the brightest idea?" Because that's what I'm thinking right now. TL;DR: The characters you get from previous games, especially with any of them that you've connected with in the past, are insultingly used as mere obstacles for you to sweep away for some kind of bonus item or skill or whatever. ... Yaaaay.
  5. Okay, so I love grinding and DLC and constant reclassing/customization for the best results, so gameplay on Normal/Hard passed pretty easily for me. Consequently, I didn't care much for "optimal pairings" or "best children" because I had no difficulty with the stages. Upon finally starting my lunatic run however, I discovered that this time I wanted to really plan out my pairings, skill inheritance and try to get the "best children in their best classes" possible! I'm absolutely fine with any sort of grinding and reclassing, so please don't hesitate to give me long reclassing paths if it's worth it! I also have full access to DLC and additional classes such as Dread Fighter and Bride, and skills like Limit Breaker - so there's no problem recommending me pairings that would utilize these skills/classes for their children. I've done some research of my own, and combined with the pairings that I used in my past playthroughs, I have come up with a draft - please don't hesitate correcting me! Chrom/Olivia (I've heard that this gives a great Inigo and Lucina) Inigo/feMU (Chrom or second gen is best for feMU, and Rightful King, so...) Cherche/Vaike/Frederick (Vaike gives crazy strength and I love a strong Gerome, but others seem to agree that Fred makes a tank Gerome. I'm a little worried about Fred's stats because in my past experiences Fred had quite inferior stats compared to other units further into the game.) Gaius/Tharja (Noire gets galeforce and that's awesome, but I've always made Gaius the father for Noire...is there any other good candidate for her father?) Maribelle/Lon'Qu/Henry/Libra (I've always done Lon'Qu for Brady and it worked out fine...but apparently Henry or Libra gives a good sorcerer potential for him. What should I do?) Miriel/Gregor (My mind is set on this one.) Nowi/Kellam/Donnel (Kellam gives Nah amazing defense. But why is everyone suggesting Donnel?) Sully/Donnel (Isn't this the best? I've heard Stahl and Vaike are good, too, but...) Panne/????? (Seriously, help me.) Lissa/Ricken/Libra/Henry/Vaike (So much potential...Owain might be a good magic user, but how about Dread Fighter? What should I do about him?) Cordelia/Lon'Qu/Stahl (That speed with Lon'Qu...but Stahl makes Severa a good hero...BUTBUTBUT) Sumia/Henry/Gaius/Fred/??? (I have zero ideas. But unfortunately Chrom is definitely out of question.) Please keep in mind, this is all for optimization and not supports or hair colours...(though I was very adamant on those before...) so no shipping wars! I greatly appreciate all the input, and thank you!
  6. LTC = Low Turn Count Works for all difficulties. No handicap. For I know, lots of SpotPass Valkyries/DarkFliers and some in-game pairs are required. Seperate all paired units before SR Wave 4's resetting is also required. I'll post my own conclusion several weeks later. Here are my own conclusions: (Edit) NM (beta version) (Edit) SR (beta version) Recommended Einherjars: For other people's LTC guides, click LTC tag.
  7. Well, I recently picked up my first FE game and I found Panne to be quite an awesome character. So I played through the campaign twice and unlocked all the children. Thus far, I have seen the vast majority of dialog between Panne and other characters, excluding the marrying parts since I married her twice =P. My primary question is this: what DLCs have the most (or at least some) Panne dialog? Sorry for my ignorance, and thanks for reading (and hopefully replying)!
  8. Hello, everyone know that Awakening has terrible multiplayer and for sure many people would like to face each other army against army, like in Shadow Dragon. Do you think is producer planning to add some multiplayer maps to Outrealm Gate? Something like Multiplayer Pack, for sure everyone would purchase it. And if not, is there a way to ask, or even write petition for it, if a lot of players would sign it?
  9. Now obviously they aren't the greatest because they lack supports, but some are better than others. Unlike my previous thread about them, you're disregarding looks in favor of gameplay. Micaiah may yet be saved! Compare them only to each other. Do not take the actual Awakening characters, especially children, into account. Eligible criteria are what exclusive skills they have for their gender, availability, and stats.
  10. Kinda in the title. I'm trying to figure out which are worth getting. Already sure I'm getting the future past though.
  11. So I was looking at some of the DLC characters and wondered which one was most popular. There are too many to place in a poll, so we have to vote via posting. Unless you want a multi-round poll. The only thing is you can only vote based on your opinions of the DLC design of the character. So gameplay utility is out the window sorry, Micaiah. So, I'll line up the choices here: Marth (0 votes) Roy (3 votes) Micaiah (0 votes) Leif (5 votes) Alm (4 votes) Seliph (0 votes) Elincia (1 votes) Eirika (0 votes) Lyn (1 votes) Ephraim (7 votes) Celica (1 votes) Ike (0 votes) Est (0 votes) Catria (2 votes) Palla (0 votes) Katarina (3 votes) Is it just me or is anyone else really bothered by the lack of Eliwood, Hector, and Sigard?So... vote. Gah I accidentally double-posted a TOPIC. Can someone fix that? I'm so embarrassed...
  12. *music plays* Behold, my so unexpected but most likely mosty awaited and demanded among the masses FE13 run, by yours' truly. There have been many, many runs throughout this game's short history, but none like my own! Many have tried, but few have succeeded...when it comes to simple completition, anyway. I, however, wish to go beyond the maingame and see just how far I can drag my time with this. This run I have in mind happens to be in a way some sort of small tribute to my first run, in the way that I will be doing some of the things I've done in it barring the many many silly desicions. I'll also be bringing some new things (for me, anyway) to the table, and will be using characters I haven't used/killed off on my first run. As the title implies, this run will be an in-breed between LTC and casual play in the sense that I will be using the characters I like, reguardless of how much it'll affect my team while still attempting to pull the lowest turncounts that my resources allow me. I kind of wish I had a capture card for this... Effeciency? Far from it. My character choices and resource distribution will likely be a mess. You'll get a heart-attack to see how well I use my funds. LTC? I'll be going as fast as I can as long as I don't rely on BS luck (see: ninja dodges), what is in my team's reach and most importantly- What is currently within my knowledge. However, you're more than gladly free to throw in some advice and suggestions for me, I'll appreciate those as well. As a basic principle, I won't be allowing myself any casualties and go on with it. No, not because I care about this- But it's just been so long that I have been doing that, that I will be doing this just to add a small thing to the challenge. PARALOGUES AND XENOLOGUES ARE IN Yes, I'll be doing those...if it's even possible within LTC no-grind team. I obviously won't be doing every single Paralogue and Xenologue. I'll be doing the ones that I have available (Children Paralogues and Xenologues I have downloaded). I'll leave Xenologues for after Ch.25 so the maingame isn't more of a cakewalk than it already is. My current goals are the following: LIBRA - Need I say more? Make the new successor of The Legend See if I can actually LTC Xenologues Use my favorite characters and actually have them be useful at some point of the game (two of these are already High tier) N.O.W.I - Scrapped. ): And at last, da rules: Personalized character theme songs! Progress:
  13. This is something that's bugged me ever since the Future Past or Future of Despair DLC came out and the bosses of the first 2 episodes were shown. Both of these bosses are Morgan, as far as I've seen. But what irks me is the fact that BOTH genders for Morgan are shown. The male Morgan in the first episode, and the female in the second. Again, as far as I've seen and what the DLC conversations tell me. Now, for all intents and purposes, these DLC episodes are, supposedly, what would happen if Lucina DIDN'T go back in time. Could this mean that, if the Avatar DOES indeed marry, he/she has twins? Now, I know the ending for Morgan shows that historians believe that Morgan came from a DIFFERENT future, but hear me out. What if the Morgan you get IS indeed from the same future as the same Lucina that goes back in time. And what if the avatar that does fall to Grima's will DOES have twins? Here's my theory: The Morgan obtained (I know I'm sounding like Morgan is an item, but this is for the sake of there being either a female or male avatar, and if I don't keep it general like this, the replies to this would be filled with "YOU CAN MAKE BOTH GENDERS FOR THE AVATAR AND GET DIFFERENT GENDERS FOR MORGAN") is actually NOT named Morgan at all. The child that travels back in time is one of a pair of twins. In the process of brainwashing/hypnotizing, one of them resists and escapes to go back in time. However, in the process, loses their memory. After ending up in the past, all they can remember besides how to fight is that the avatar is their parent and the name Morgan. Assuming the name is it's own, it introduces itself to the Avatar as well as the rest of the army as Morgan. However, in reality the twin that DID get taken over was named Morgan. Again, this is just a theory.
  14. I don't own Awakening yet but do plan on picking it up eventually. I planned some setups and pairings for the characters I plan to use to tackle the harder DLC, including not only Apotheosis but also Death's Embrace, Roster Rescue, etc. Since I have multiple possible setups for some characters, I put them in spoiler tags for easier reading. The pairings: Chrom x Sumia Lissa x Henry Sully x Donnel Miriel x Gregor Mariabelle x Ricken Panne x Fredrick Cordelia x Stahl Nowi x Gaius Tjarka x Avatar Olivia x Virion Cherche x Vaike The Sets: [spoiler=Lucina] Tank Set Class:Paladin Limit Breaker Pavise Aegis Galeforce Rightful King Attacking Set Class: Dark Flier Limit Breaker Tomefaire Galeforce Aether Rightful King [spoiler=Cynthia] Unorthodox Set Class: Bow Knight Limit Breaker Galeforce Dual Guard+ Luna Bowfaire Pure Offense Set Class: Dark Flier Limit Breaker Tomefaire Galeforce Aether Luna Gurerilla Set Class: Sniper Limit Breaker Bowfaire Dual Guard+ Luna Galeforce [spoiler=Owain] Default Set Class: Dark Knight Galeforce Aggressor Tomefaire Lifetaker Limit Breaker [spoiler=Kjelle] Flexible Tank Set Class: Hero Galeforce Swordfaire Armsthrift Luna (swap for Sol in non-Apotheosis DLC) Limit Breaker [spoiler=Brady] Default Set Class: Sage Galeforce Tomefaire Aggressor Dual Guard+ Limit Breaker [spoiler=Severa] Physical Set Class: Assassin Galeforce Vantage Armsthrift Astra Limit Breaker Nosfertank Severa Class: Sorceror Galeforce Armsthrift Vantage Vengeance Limit Breaker [spoiler=Nah] Default Tank Set Class: Manakete Galeforce Sol Vantage Deliverer Limit Breaker [spoiler=Inigo] Default Set Class: Assassin Galeforce Swordfaire Astra Vantage Limit Breaker Secondary Attack Set Class: Berserker Galeforce Axefaire Astra (Sol on non-Apotheosis maps) Aggressor Limit Breaker Guerilla Set Class: Sniper Galeforce Aggressor Bowfaire Astra Limit Breaker [spoiler=Yarne] Physical Support Set Class: Berserker Axefaire Aggressor Dual Guard+ Luna Limit Breaker Mobile Support Set Class: Griffon Rider Deliverer Dual Guard+ Luna Aggressor Limit Breaker [spoiler=Laurent] Nosfertank Set Class: Sorceror Armsthrift Vantage Tomefaire Vengeance Limit Breaker [spoiler=Gerome] Support Set Class: Berserker Axefaire Aggressor Pass Deliverer Limit Breaker [spoiler=Noire] Nosfertank Set Galeforce Armsthrift Vengeance Luna Limit Breaker [spoiler=Morgan] Attack Set Galeforce Armsthrift Ignis Luna Limit Breaker [spoiler=Chrom] Support Set Class: Bow Knight Bowfaire Dual Strike+ Dual Guard+ Aggressor Limit Breaker [spoiler=Avatar] Staffbot Class: Sage Tomefaire All Stats +2 Magic +2 Sol Limit Breaker [spoiler=Sumia] Versatile Set Class: Dark Flier Galeforce Luna Dual Guard+ Iote's Shield Limit Breaker [spoiler=Cordelia] Default Set Galeforce Lancefaire Armsthrift Sol Limit Breaker [spoiler=Olivia] Default Set Class: Dancer Galeforce Special Dance Pass Swordfaire Limit Breaker [spoiler=Gregor] The Scout Class: Assassin Vantage Swordfaire Astra Armsthrift Limit Breaker The Heavy Class: Berserker Aggressor Axefaire Armsthrift Astra Limit Breaker [spoiler=Legion] Rallybot Class: Berserker Dual Support+ Rally Strength Rally Spectrum Rally Defense Limit Breaker [spoiler=Spotpass!Katarina] Rallybot Class: Trickster Galeforce Rally Speed Rally Spectrum Rally Heart Limit Breaker I think if I'm not playing for Apotheosis, I'll remove Limit Breaker from everyone and replace it with a different skill. 15. So, I'm currently deciding which dlc maps to get. I calculated everything and damn if I want to get them all that would be pretty pricey, like 47 something dollars pricey, which is more than the price of the game itself. Scramble pack is something that I will definitely grab because of the fan service but what about the rest? I'm talking about story wise, which ones are the most interesting? I would appreciate it if someone could make a list of that! I also want to know which ones to get reward wise. (again, a list would be really appreciated!) tl;dr can someone make me lists of best > worst dlc maps in terms of story-wise and reward-wise respectively? /expectantly waiting
  16. If you get the dreadfighter/bride dlc, then take out the SD card with a dread fighter or bride in your party, that unit will be in a class called Outrealm Class, then their model will change to the tactician model, right? I would want to see that, but, I can't do this because I have the digital version, so does anyone happen have a pic of the tactician model with lances, bows, axes and staves? I would really appreciate if someone could do that. Sorry for the trouble.
  17. Lost Bloodlines 3 is up for those that didn't buy the pack and got early access! Also we got the last paralogue: The Radiant Hero! Nothing for the last spotpass team Others yet.
  18. Hello, Serenes Forest! I was wondering how to make a DLC class into an Outrealm class. ShadowofChaos did this by removing his SD card, making his DLC disappear, but yet turning his DLC classes into "tacticians." Is there any way to do this with a Digital Download? People have suggested deleting the DLC, but that does not work. Can someone help me? Thanks!
  19. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. Chrom, Avatar, Frederick, Olivia, Lucina and Priam are free for all to use. 3. The game will be played on Hard Mode Classic. 4. 20. The DLC always introduce new (old) characters with exclusive skills, but somehow it become boring because you can only have so many kind of skill combinations that is niche and effective. I'm hoping to see new flying class that able to wield sword and lance, and a magic class that uses tome, lance. Anyway I think introduction of new class will take allot of works, so here comes the topic: I like to see shield as a weapon that can be used by all non-stave classes. Ability should work on equip. The weapon work like this Great Shield Mt 0 Hit 0 Crt 0 Provide Aegis+,Pavise+,Dual Guard+ Iote's Shield Mt 0 Hit 0 Crt 0 Remove flying weakness and provide Pass Any other ideas you guys like to see? Edit: Yeah =P I know about Iote's Shield skill in DLC. There's Luna (spear) and Vengeance (axe) too. Maybe it'll be nice to have another Sword with Sol ability.
  21. I was kinda annoyed and irked that the vast majority of the character battle models didn't resemble the character at all for the DLC and SpotPass characters. Like Brom and Oliver, that doesn't look like them at all. And Sigurd, I've seen a bunch of pictures and watched YouTube videos of FE4 gameplay, the Awakening DLC and SpotPass don't look like him. A bunch just... Don't look like the character they are supposed to be. This thread has probably been done before, so sorry if that's the case...
  22. If anyone knows the location on serenesforest (or anywhere) of a list of all the Guest Artists and their work for the DLC please send me the link!! I know I found it somewhere on serenesforest, but for the life of me I can't seem to find out where that page has gone.
  23. I have a strategy that will work for anyone who has DLC, on any difficulty. First, you add your avatar into the avatar logbook, with full stats, and any skills you want him to be equipped with. This should be done on easy, or hard, so that you don't have too much trouble. Second, start a game on the difficulty that you cannot complete (e.g. Lunatic). Spam Frederick paired up with Chrom, until you have completed chapter 4, so that you will unlock the Outrealm Gate. Third, grind the Golden Gaffe, until you have enough money to buy the avatar from Step 1. Now use this avatar as much as you want. Notes: The more full-stat avatars you have, the better. You can keep grinding the golden gaffe, to buy up to 20 avatars at once. If you have Rouges and Redeemers 3, you can equip Limit Breaker. You should consider equipping this on your avatar(s). If you have 99,999 Renown, you can sell the Supreme Emblem for 99,999G, and your Bullion (L) for 10,000G, and (probably) buy an avatar before completing chapter 4. These avatars cannot have support conversations, so unfortunately, the support boosts won't increase. You can use the EXPonential Growth, in order to get lots of experience, but I recommend you wait until completing chapter 16 (or paralogue 16) so that you can buy Master Seals, and Second Seals. I hope this information helps!
  24. So I've been thinking this, and I hope to ask you all the same. We've been getting new DLC every Thursday since the game came out, sometimes twice in one week. What happens when we catch up with Japan? Will we succumb to monthly DLC? What happens?! I must know!
