I've been playing through FE13 on HM/Ironman, asking my partner to choose all of my pairings. I realized her method for pairings units is visual, she picks whoever look like a cute couple and then confirm the pairing if they visually mesh with their children. I usually pair units based on either optimization or specific builds I have in mind for that run, so this has been an extremely unique experience. So far it's been a lot of fun playing through with another entirely different system for pairings, and I'm curious how others here determine their pairings.

Hello Serenes Forest. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me with pairings for R/IK. I have a few preferences when it comes to it: - Eugenics, but only for the most powerful children. I do not care if any children are left out - Shipping is minor, but helpful non-the-less - I'm going for +Spd/-Lck with Hero as the talent and the final class, I'll get the other skills through Spotpass/Castle battles. There was another parent rating topic that died so lets start a new one. Rules. 1. Rate based on gameplay. The rating should mostly be based on optimization. 2. Do not bring up the Avatar until it is his/her turn to be rated. 3. There will be two tier lists, one for Mothers and one For Fathers. 4. I probably won't rate the infertile parents (Anna, Basilio, Spotpass, etc) but we'll see what happens when the time comes. 5. Don't shittalk other people's ratings unless they are obviously trolling. Even the most baffling of ratings will count if that user gives a decent explanation. We'll start with the Fathers, Beginning with Chrom. Chrom Chrom's biggest appeal is his ability to pass Great Knight while also granting a positive speed modifier. As lucrative as that sounds, only Inigo can take advantage of that. The two unique skills he passes aren't all that great as Aether is too unreliable without Rightful King and Rightful King is mostly pointless without Aether. Lucina, at the very least, can use both. His Archer class has good synergy with Kjelle and Inigo's access to Assassin, but is mostly filler. His modifiers are average. All in all he is an average father who manages to give the bare minimum amount of skills and modifiers. I consider him to be the worst Great Knight father because only one of his potential children can take advantage of that class set. Alright, so we already have the reverse of this, so now we have this. What are pairings a lot of people use that you personally don't like? This can be based on supports, personality, eugenics, etc. I personally will be basing mine on eugenics. Please, even with how entertaining they are to read, no shipping wars. Minor arguments are allowed, because nobody dies (That was a stupid sentence). Pairs I think are overrated- Libra and Olivia (Inigo becomes a sorc tool, and I hate sorcs. (Completely unrelated- Only using sorcs for lunatic+ where they are pretty much necessary) I also don't think these two really fit together. I see Olivia with Chrom, Gaius, or Virion) Stahl and Sully (Red and green. BIG DEAL. Kjelle becomes crap. Stahl is also better with Cordelia.) Fred and Cordelia (I see this as a watered-down version of Stahl/Cordelia.) Gerome and Lucina (WORST SUPPORTS IN THE GAME. PERIOD. Who agrees with me on this?) FeMU and Chrom (So many fangirls.)

For optimality, Lissa/Owain gets the short end of the stick in this Lunatic+ file, and I have yet to pick a Father for Owain yet. The Father pool consists of Kellam, Libra, and Virion. Please base your answers on Maximum Stat Modifiers, and Skills & Classes available to Owain. Disregard context of the supports, hair colors, and biased opinions because of character hate/favoritism. This is my alternate file with a Chrom and Olivia pairing, instead of Chrom and Sumia. [spoiler=Rey...]申し訳ありませんが、レイ。 Noire's father is Gaius in my main file, and Olivia's husband is Virion. Now that Chrom has 寝取られ'd Olivia's husbando in this file, Gaius has been switched to Sumia from Tharja, and Virion has been bumped out, and is in the pool of available fathers, along with Kellam and Libra. And, I really don't know who to give to Tharja to get her off my back. So, please give me serious arguments based on Classes and Stat Modifiers that Noire inherits from her father. I will ignore arguments based on aesthetics, for example "this pairing is cutesy because bla bla bla, therefore you should do it." My current pairings are represented on the following image: [spoiler=Pairings] Yes, the fanart of Ike is Avatar and the child is Morgan. If you are wondering why I did this, it is because the images closely resemble my Avatar's and Morgan's appearances. Edit: The pairings in the image are inflexible.

I can't decide on who I should have father Noire and Nah, with Donnel and Gaius being the two options, so I decided to ask you guys. Both of these fathers pass down the Pegasus genes for Galeforce, but Gaius passes down more attacking proc skills, and Donnel passes down Aptitude and Underdog from Villager. And then Gaius has a van full of candy that Nowi is just ready to hop into. Also, it's father's day, lol.
