  1. So I'm just curious; Why is Ephraim getting more gauntlet votes? What is wrong with our dear tomato boy?? (Is it the "you'll never guess which fruit i fancy... tomatoes"??) (It is, isn't it...) (I know he's a Freak but we love him anyway okay) (also yes I know that Sacred Stones is generally much more popular than Fates, I'm asking more on a character level than a story/plot level) (I thank you ahead of time for your consideration!)
  2. Ever wanted better supports? Like, I dunno... Non-rushed marriage proposals? Mozu not talking about food all the time? Camilla not talking about Corrin all the time? Effie not being obsessed about her strength? Well I got news for YOU! I'm here to make a hack about better support conversations! With this hack, we can remove all those things and MORE! I'm taking suggestions, bug testers, video showcase providers and writers! ----- What I won't do: -Add New Supports- -Added Compatibility with Gay-Fates or other hacks- ----- What Is Needed: A Home-brewed 3DS FE: Fates Optional: Extra Knowledge About 3DS Hacking ----- Release Coming soon! ----- Have a bug? Tell me and I'll be sure to fix it! This project is closed due to time management.
  3. So like, Fates has been out for a year in the West. In that year, theres been literal blood, sweat, and tears shed for this game in terms of discussion, acquiring it, and speculation about the future of the series. While FE's future is still a bit uncertain in terms of direction, IS seems pretty dead set on moving on. We didnt get that last wave of DLC for Fates. Other than Cipher cards and those specialty figurines, it seems like theres not much left of promoting Fates. I think that Corrin amiibo just isnt happening at this point. But you never know. What about you? Have you moved on? Do you still play the game and enjoy it? Has your opinions on the game(s), its characters, or anything relating to it changed in the last year? Sock it to me.
  4. What I'm trying to ask is: Do people prefer My Castles that are more oriented for battles, or castles that are more appealing, visually and localation wise? Or even just castles that let you easily buy skills.
  5. Leave your corrin, castle address and lvl/class in this post! Corrin: Eliz Class: A fighter Special skill?: Vantage Level: 10 Best to recruit: start of the game Castle address: 13594-87419-94525-33994 Have fun guys :D
  6. So Chris Wagar, a gaming blogger I follow, recently let his friend, an old-school FE fan, answer some questions they'd received about about the differences between Awakening's and Conquest's approach to map design and difficulty. I found the post very insightful and wanted to share it here: https://critpoints.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/fire-emblem-everything/ Other topics in this particular blog from his friend include a critique on Fates' debuffs and guard stance, the usefulness of Leif vs. Roy vs. Lyn, and their favourite FE games. I'd also recommend Chris's other blog posts if you like game design analysis.
  7. Next week I hope to start something I've been looking forward to doing for a while. I recently finished creating a web page that can be used to generate a random "skill tree" (set of skills each class learns) for Fire Emblem Fates (see details here) and am planning to to use it for a run through the Revelation path on Lunatic-Classic difficulty. The way this works is that each time one of my units earns a skill by reaching a level milestone in their class, I consult the table generated using that webpage to find the shuffler-chosen skill corresponding to that milestone. Then at the end of the chapter, I use a save editor to overwrite the skill that the game awarded, replacing it with the one chosen by the shuffler. The shuffler will never give a class a completely useless skill, so e.g. Swordfaire will always go to a Sword-using class. The reason I call this a "double-blind" run is that, first of all, it's my first time through Revelation, and second of all, I'll be using the "Surprise Mode" on the shuffler, so each skill is hidden until one of my units reaches the class/level milestone to earn it. Since it is a blind run, I'll be commenting on the story as well as the gameplay, and there will be spoilers for all 3 routes (as I have played the other ones already). Please do not give story spoilers for Revelation chapters I haven't played! The run will start at Chapter 7 using a +Mag -Str female Avatar. The run will not use DLC or Path Bonuses. However, it will use Challenges/Scouting to train underleveled characters (as Revelation is infamous for units joining at a way-too-low level, that much I know). ----------- Anyway, one feature of the shuffler is that it allows the user to optionally include some or all of the enemy skills in the shuffle, in case the player wanted to see what it's like being able to earn them by leveling up and turn some of the game's nastiest tricks against itself. I can see why doing that would be appealing to some and unappealing to others, so... BRANCH OF FATE: CHOOSE YOUR PATH! Option 1 *LOSER (1 vote)* I will use only the standard skills from the classes in the base game. They'll be shuffled around, so who knows which'll get what, but they'll all be there. -or- Option 2 *WINNER (5 votes)* I will set the shuffler to exclude some of the less exciting standard skills, and replace them with the lowest-power tier of enemy skills. These enemy skills will have to be earned by reaching the class/level milestones chosen by the shuffler, just like any other skill. The following changes would occur if option 2 is chosen: Excluded: Golembane, Future Sight, Shove, Swap, Skill +2, Luck +4 Included: Point Blank, Winged Shield, Bold Stance, Hit/Avo +10, Resist Status, and the one...the only...the dreaded...Inevitable End. I'll leave it up to you, the eventual readers, to decide. I won't start the run until sometime on or after Monday, September 19, so you have until then to vote in the topic poll. The topic poll is now closed. Until we meet again, have a nice weekend everyone!
  8. Hai! So, I thought up this article in the shower. Fates has been out for about a year now, so I presume everyone has been able to play it. I loved the game, and it's characters. I played through the game so many times, and have gotten to know it's characters quite well. However, there were characters I adored, like Keaton, Laslow, or Selena. Along with that, there were characters I did not enjoy as much. And so, I thought I would share my thoughts on who the worst of the worst was. Please feel free to join and tell me your worst. I thought I would seperate the judging into two categories. Portrayal, and Unit. Feel free to judge your least favorite character on one or both of the categories. By Portrayal, I mean how they appear in the story, supports, and overall role they play in the game. For Unit, I mean how they are as that. A soldier. Please do not turn this into a flame war. I only mean to share opinions. And so, I shall throw in my two cents. My Worst Character Award Goes Too... CAMILLA! Yep. That's my opinion. If I may explain before I am run through: Portrayal This is where my hate for Camilla stems. From the start, she is shown in cutscenes and the story terribly. In all cutscenes, she is never seen with her axe. Or her wyvern. Think about all the other cutscenes: Everybody has their weapons. Sakura even has her rod, along with Elise! Now, yes. Sakura or Elise does not have their weapons in their positive cutscenes. Nobody does. But everyone else has their weapon in a standoff or fight. Camilla's cutscenes are bad from the start. In the circle around Garon, she just waves her hands around and flips her hair. In Choose Your Side, she has no weapon. She is just shocked. In the third, it's just blatant fanservice. None of her cutscenes have an axe, wyvern, or use of magic. My next reason if her supports and role in the story. First, the story. She does next to nothing. She doesn't have many twists, other than defecting in Revelation. No other shocks, or major roles. She acts as only a support unit to Kamui, and acts as a foil to Hinoka. To be honest, I found the chapter in which I fought her in Birthright to be rather bland. The chapter wasn't bad, but the fight was forgettable. Hinoka was a helicopter. Sakura pleads not to fight. Ryoma and Takumi act serious, Leo almost kills you, and let's just not talk about Xander. Camilla, wants to hug you. Yep. That's it. Almost all of her supports are bland, and are almost centered about Kamui. However, I admit. There are some gems, like Benny and Ryoma, or Takumi. Other than that, she is boring and repetitive Unit Don't get me wrong: She's a fine unit. Quite good really. But with the characters I like to use, the doesn't fit in. I prefer units with growths similar to Ninjas or Adventurers. Camilla doesn't have any horrible growths, but she has what I call "Leo Syndrome." Her stats are in that slot where nothing stand out except her Strength. Everything else falls into a category that it's not bad, but not great. Not enough to prominently show through in her levels. So, she's not bad, but I prefer others. Now! Discuss among yourselves! Who is YOUR worst unit in Fates hmm?
  9. I just started writing for a new website, and I was lucky enough to interview the immensely talented Rena Strober. Sharing the link with everybody because I figured I'd find plenty of fellow Fates and Rena fans here! Hope you enjoy! https://comedyngaming.com/anime/interview-rena-strober-voice-azura-fire-emblem-fates
  10. I'm playing Revelations and the pairings I plan on doing are: Arthur/Effie Azama/Felicia Benny/Camilla Hayato/Nyx Hinata/Setsuna Jakob/Charlotte Kaden/Rinkah Kaze/Beruka Keaton/Hana Laslow/Peri Leo/Sakura Niles/Mozu Odin/Elise Ryoma/Kagero Saizo/Orochi Silas/Selena Subaki/Oboro Takumi/Azura Xander/Hinoka and FMU/Shigure I'm aware that astra, replicate and lifetaker are nifty to have, but I don't know what else I should aim to give them/pass to them? I'm sorry that I need so much help lol but? I don't know what I should give them,,
  11. I have some S-ranks already, but I only went ahead with the pairs I really ship. Since this is for my main file, I really want to be sure that I like all of the S-ranks I go with, but I honestly have no idea what other S-supports I should go for. I want all of the kids, and I could just go for the hair colour I like, but I think I'd regret pairing a couple who's supports I don't like or care for. So, concerning the characters I haven't paired yet, are there any supports that are really good? Either interesting or entertaining. Like Selkie and Asugi, where they went on missions together, that sort of thing~ Honestly, anything will do if it's not just the standard "Apparently I fell in love with you while we were cleaning that one shelf yesterday. I'm so glad we met two days ago." Here's my list of the S-ranks I have: Ryouma x Mozu Queen Mozu is best Mozu. I really like the idea of a peasant becoming queen. <3 Mozu is probably good with Xander, too, but I don't think Mozu has a single bad support. Hinoka x Subaki Mainly for Not-Cordelia's hair colour, but Subaki is rather prince-like. As well as that, though their supports weren't very interesting, they did suggest that Hinoka and Subaki have known each other for a long time. Takami x Setsuna Setsuna is one of my favourites, I don't know why but I seriously adore her, pft. ;; I think she and Takumi look really cute together, and though Setsuna's supports are basically all the same, her support with Takumi made me laugh a lot. Azura x Kaden They remind me of a Princess Mononoke-type of couple, and their supports were the cutest I've seen. I don't think I could pair them with anyone else. <3 Xander x Sakura I wanted to marry one of the siblings to each other, but I shipped things for the other Hoshido siblings already. Xander and Sakura are weird for the age, but I think he'd treat her well. Leo x Nyx Leo probably has better supports, but his with Nyx was pretty good. Nyx has my favourite hair colour for Forrest, I think he just looks better with darker hair. Camilla x Keaton I didn't get the impression that Camilla actually liked him, but I like Keaton's daughter being a princess. Kaze x Felicia They're really cute, and they look good together! Odin x Selena Owain and Severa were married on Awakening, so it's as if their marriage carried over into Fates. Extra rambling: I'm not sure if Niles and Beruka's supported were really that interesting, but they look like they'd be a cute couple. I could see him putting a bow in her hair or something, with her not really saying anything for or against it, but then never taking it out. <3 For Peri, I'm between Laslow and Arthur. She looks nicer with Laslow, and from what I've seen, that's the pairing most people prefer. However, Arthur and Peri seem kind of interesting, since they're like a hero and villain duo from a comic book or something. (Superman and Harley Quinn?) On the other hand, though, Peri's too cute for Arthur, and they don't look good when next to each other. So then, though, who would I pair Arthur with? I don't really ship anyone with him. Is there anyone he's actually good with, as far as either chemistry goes or how interesting/entertaining the supports are? I have the same issue with Azama. I really don't like him with anyone, but I have to pair him with someone since I like Mitama. ;; I've seen that Effie is really popular with Azama, but she deserves so much better. Effie is popular with Arthur, too, but I think I actually like her with Benny. At least he'd treat her well. I paired Azama with Oboro in Birthright, and I don't want to pair her with him again. I just can't look at them and say "Ah yes, these two are a couple." I suppose I'll have to suck it up and marry Azama and Arthur with someone, but I can't for the life of me decide who with. Gotta do it for the kids, even if I'd much rather have pairings that I actually ship. As far as Laslow goes, aside from Peri, I was wondering if he was good with Elise. They're kind of awkward because of the ages, but in Awakening, I married Inigo to someone with Libra as the father, so Elise would give him a blond Solei. Maybe I could just marry him to whoever, and say his first marriage didn't work out? Or just pretend it never happened-? For Oboro, I have half a mind to pair her with Hinata. It's mostly because I guess they just look good together? Or, well, they're pretty similar in height and stuff, and they just look like they could be love interests. They just look... natural with each other? Aside from them, are there any Oboro or Hinata pairings that are better? Oboro and Takumi are perfect, and I'm afraid to ever do their supports in case I like them too much. I really ship Takumi and Setsuna, so~ I married Jakob to Hana in Birthright, and they're alright if not a bit boring. I do like the proposal, though. Jakob and Rinka seem to be unpopular, but they had one of the few supports where I actually couldn't wait to see what came next. It was just Jakob being a jerk to her, but the banter was really entertaining to me, I guess? That said, I don''t want to pair them for my main file. In Birthright, I married Saizo to Kagero, and I guess that aside from Effie, she's the only one who really looks old enough for him, and they're both mature looking. Despite that, are there any Saizo and Kagero supports that are better? I remember someone saying that Saizo and Charlotte were good. Also, should I pair Hayato with Orochi? It feels like I shouldn't just because they're "the two mages", but I like Rhajat with Orochi's hair colour. She looks strange with lighter hair colour, but with Orochi's colour, it won't be dark enough to make her look like Tharja, so it's not a bad colour at all. Sorry for all this, I think that's everything I had to say?
  12. Uh... Hello everyone. I'm not sure what to type here. XD One thing you must know about me is that I'm a vore lover. Not quite a vorephile, no no no, don't get me wrong there. I just find it fun to roleplay. Make fun aof me and harrass me for it all you want, but I'm sadly used to it. People have gone so far as to tell me to kill myself for liking it, even. Why am I not on Eka's Portal, a forum made for vore RPs? Because everyone there likes it as a sex thing. I just RP it for fun. I just find it interesting. But enough about that, I am a huge fan of Fire Emblem: Fates. I enjoy roleplaying, as mentioned earlier. Even though I am a girl, I enjoy playing as Laslow, Niles, and Saizo the most, though I am practicing Charlotte a bit. I am willing to take a crack at playing anyone, though. I love to do RPs over PM or email! PM me if you're interested in an RP, I love all sorts of roleplays. I can also give my email over PM as well. I am also a shameless shipper. XD I am even willing to RP with boy/boy and girl/girl pairings. Other fandoms I am in are Pokemon, Hetalia, and Danganronpa. Nice to meet you guys, and I hope to see you guys in my PM box for roleplays! EDIT: Also, where do you go to request RPs, anyway? Is there a place for that here?
  13. This isn't a Skill Request Thread. If you are looking for specific skills, go to one of the Skill Request Threads like this one: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=61825&hl= Post here any skill combinations/skill sets that you (or someone you know) thought of. Write for what character is the skill set, for what class, if you do have/use the skill set, and how to use the character. Try to avoid including hacked skills. The children can have any non-enemy-exclusive skills because they can inherit any skills their parents have, and you can save the character with their skills if you defeat Anankos. If you come up with a better combination of skills quote your original previous post and write what you would change. Don't be afraid of commenting about a skill set; constructive criticism is always good (just write a real explanation of why you would like for it to be different). If you did not make the skill set by yourself, please, remember to give credit to the original creator. WARNING: THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN OPINIONS. NOT EVERYTHING WRITTEN HERE IS A FACT, SO DO NOT START SAYING WHAT IS STATISTICALLY THE BEST SET OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. BE RESPECTFUL. These are the skill sets I have come up with: 1) Charlotte as a Berserker (A Berserker's Axe can help with this set if used right, but Killer Axe is practically a necessity): Vantage, Death Blow, Strength +2, Axefaire, and Swordbreaker. This set is used by getting Charlotte to 50% HP and then hoping she gets crits, so she will need as much skill and luck as possible (I expect that max strength is a given). This set is not recommended for attacking other castles because of the effects of the building in castle battles makes it VERY hard to crit. I have Death Blow, Axefaire, and Vantage. 2) Veloria as a Wolfssegner (Beastrune will be the most efficient weapon for this set): Beastbane, Trample, Certain Blow, Poison Stike, and Grisly Wound. This set is a physical tank killer; use Poison Strike and Grisly Wound to deal damage after every battle to the tanks. Trample and Beastbane are for dealing extra damage to most units (everyone by mounted dragon units). Certain Hit is just to not miss. I am still looking for ways to make this set a little better, but no such luck right now. I have everything here except for Poison Strike. 3) Benny as a General or Great Knight (if you don't want/can't use Boots on Benny): Defence +2, HP +5, Wary Fighter, Lancefaire, and Heartseeker. This set is based around the idea that Benny will hit practically anything it battles thanks to Heartseeker + Fierce Mien (Benny's personal skill). Also, Def and HP are what keeps Generals alive (alongside Wary Fighter), so why not some more of that. Lancefaire is totally replaceable for any other skill you would like. I have everything here except for Heartseeker. 4) Shiro as a Spearmaster (I want him to be a Spearmaster to have a higher Skill-Cap and also a passive crit bonus): Hoshidan Unity, Astra, Rend Heaven, Quixotic, and either Luna. This set is just to attack and hope he procs one of his skills, so don't use any lances that block him from using his skills (Peri's Lance > Javelin and no Bronze/Brass Weapons). Any aggressive trigger skills can be put here in place of Luna, Rend Heaven and Astra (e.g.: Vengeance and Aether). I suggest not giving Shiro a Bolt Naginata either for the same reason for the Javelin. I have the whole set. Everything edited is in bold.
  14. So, I have a project I'm currently making that involves the newer games, but I can't say what it is yet. So, out of curiosity amongst the veteran fans, which FE game do you guys hate more? Awakening or Fates as a whole? I even created a straw poll which can be found here
  15. Does anyone know where I can find the Title/Logo Font? I wanted to make a little thingy and it wold be nice to have it.
  16. Hi guys, I've bought the collector game when he's released but I didn't play yet. And I've begun last night. My question is : Can we change randomly growth rates' unit just before he levels up ? I know that in Akawening, it works but in Fates, I don't know. I heard that in Lunatic mode, growth rates are predetermined, what does it mean precisely ? :(
  17. After like 7 Lunatic+Hard Playthroughs of Conquest I've decided to make a Tier List for it. I'm looking to make it as accurate as possible. Being an efficient unit (high move, shelter, ability to kill at 1-2 range or bosskill, etc) makes the unit go up, not having these qualities or having them but needing more effort makes them go lower. Here we go: Rules: -Conquest Lunatic Classic Mode -Full recruitment, No Deaths. -No DLC or Bonus items. -No outside my castle visiting feature. -No cooking or capturing. -No invasion battles. -Efficiency (slower than LTC but not slow enough to where we can just casually take 10 turns in a map to grind someone up. Think of it like if chapter 12 takes 2 turns in a LTC run by bumrushing ryoma, efficiency takes a bit longer to ensure that it is reliable to do so. So like 6-7 turns. How many more Turns efficiency takes varies from map to map, but basically whatever seems reliable and fast) Axe Wyvern Waifu Tier Camilla Top Tier Corrin Azura Xander Jakob (Ch2) Leo High Tier Beruka Silas Niles Felicia (Ch2) Mid Tier Effie Kaze Elise Selena Shura Arthur Peri Gunter Low Tier Nyx Keaton Charlotte Laslow Flora Felicia (Ch16) Izana Bottom Tier Jakob (Ch16) Benny Mozu Odin [spoiler=List in Picture form] Axe Wyvern Waifu Tier Top Tier High Tier Mid Tier Low Tier Bottom Tier [spoiler=Important Commentary on v1.0 Unit Placements] First Tier belongs solely to Camilla, for obvious reasons. She joins as early as Chapter 10, with ridiculous bases in every stat with amazing growths that ensure she stays obscenely good throughout the game. She flies, has good weapon ranks, good classes and a decent personal skill. She's extremely dominant and doesn't need resources to perform at her best. Second Tier kicks off with Azura, her dancing is invaluable throughout the game and it becomes kinda broken with Shelter units around. Corrin is an amazing, reliable and versatile combat unit for the entire game. She can pull off a myriad of classes too well, with cavalier or wyvern being her best options. Xander joins kinda late and wants your Speedwing. Those are his only flaws. Godlike 1-2 range and durability make him too useful in most of the lategame maps. Also has Shelter if you weren't already satisfied with him. Jakob is an amazing unit that joins you early and can go Paladin with a Heart Seal. While this does mean he starts E rank weapons, it offers too many benefits for that measly cost. It means you get an 8 mov unit early on. It means Jakob gets elbow room with just 1 level. With another level you get another Shelter unit. He even gets Defender early to skyrocket his already good combat. He just keeps getting better and better with little cost. Silas joins early with nice bases and growths, has a really good and abusable personal skill in a high move class. High Tier kicks off with Niles, who is a really good unit that joins you early and has a ton of unique uses. He gives movement on pairup, gets mov+1 himself, has the ability to lockpick, has no trouble doubling, etc. He can even go bowknight later on and have like 10 mov. That's kind of amazing. His growths in areas other than spd means he can and often will fall off later on when enemy stats make the jump though. Then there's Effie, with her high str and good personal skill giving her clutch offense early on. She can go Great Knight and keep killing and tanking things. Kaze joins later than in Birthright but is still pretty darn amazing. He has amazing spd that lets him double basically forever and has good 1-2 range offense thanks to shurikens. Very useful unit but too frail to be exposed to too much combat. Leo, much like Xander, joins late and wants your Speedwing, but has really good bases and a tome that makes him a 1-2 range nuke. He has good bulk on both sides and is just really solid at combat. Felicia (Ch2), while inferior to Jakob in every way possible, does have the ability to go Strategist and have good offense (but terrible defense) early on. She's like a better Elise without Dragon Veins to me since she can do combat to get more exp than elise and get going faster. If she doesn't go strategist she's still a nice support unit that can eventually be a flame shuriken nuke. Upper Mid Tier has Elise at the top. While Elise is really solid, I feel she's not a High Tier unit. That would mean she's just one or 2 spots below Leo and there's a very clear difference between them in performance. Elise comes early with a pony and is good at her healing job. Eventually she can be a playerphase nuke too with her amazing mag and spd growths. She can never really do EP combat thanks to her hp and def though. Beruka's bases are really solid and she flies. Her biggest downside is her Spd base being super low and her growths being on the poor side. Still, she's a flying unit with good single strikes and that makes her useful enough. Selena, much like Beruka, joins with solid bases early on. She's in a much more inferior class than Beruka though. She can pull off Bow Knight and Pegasus Knight rather well. The latter making her a flying Rescue user. She will be useful, much like Beruka but she won't be winning any mvp awards either. Shura joins late and costs you a Boots if you recruit him, but he can be useful as a Bow Knight with 10 move and has nice bases. Arthur closes Upper Mid. Being an early joining unit with a good support class and the ability to be another Shelter unit if need be. Mid Tier. I felt like these guys needed the tier gap because there's no way they're on par with the upper mids. Peri kicks off the tier. She has average bases and growths in a good class and joins decently early on. She can use Shelter right away too. Gunter provides amazing pairup bonuses to Corrin, can use Shelter, can fly and he can grab quite a few support skills like Rallies really easily. Not an amazing combat unit, but a valuable support unit. Laslow joins along with Peri in C12 and has decent bases. His spd holds him back, but he's usable. He's mediocre, but usable. His rally is neat to have for free. A lot of people will give me heck for my Charlotte placement I bet, but she doesn't give move. Her str spd pairup bonus is amazing for sure, but needs more mov. And she's terrible at combat. Low Tier: Now we get to the losers. Nyx is awful. She could maybe be early-sealed to Dark Knight and be decent in like one map but that's about it. She really is hopeless as a combat unit. She can go Bowknight and be a 10 move support unit but there are better options for that and they can do combat too. Flora joins with a B rank in staves in C19 so she can use entrap. She has good skl and mag, making her pretty accurate with staves too. She has that niche going for her. Staff rank is hard to build. Felicia C16 joins late and is extremely bad, but she can heal kinda well and maybe do decent chip with Flame Shuriken here and there. Izana joins suuuper late, but he has 2 rallies and can use staves on things. Keaton, while he does have nice bases, he joins at a time when no one wants a 5 move unit with good 1 range combat. This holds him back sooo much. Bottom Tier: These are more losers than the losers. Jakob C16 can be another Shelter bot maybe and heal for less than C16 Felicia if he stays Butler. Benny can instaseal to GK and give move and str def on pairup but that's about it. Mozu can be a decent sniper if you want to go through the hell that is training her and spend an early Heart Seal on her for some reason. Odin is the worst character in the game from what i've played. His bases are laughably bad and his spd growth cripples him even more. He will always be mediocre at best even if you do train him. He can probably do better if sealed to samurai asap, but heart seals are heavily contested resources. [spoiler=Bonus, ranking the Nohrian kids] Top Tier High Tier Mid Tier Low Tier Bottom Tier Percy and Sophie in the top as they are likely to exist because their parents are great/good. Percy has a Wyvern, with good stats everywhere and a huge defense stat that makes him actually really handy to tank things. He can get Shelter from his dad and fly, which is really good. Sophie is a Cavalier, which means she gets Shelter right away, has a good dad and often will join with good bases. She usually does well no matter who is her mom. High Tier: Nina is likely to exist thanks to Niles being an amazing unit himself. She's on the very frail side but she has good offense and has the mov+1 skill to make her even better. Ophelia doesn't have a good dad, but wow her offense is really good and she can go Dark Knight. She's a nuke. Too bad about that dad of hers...Kana can inherit good stuff like Wyvern to help out. His/her stats are mediocre/average at best but he/she can be made into a useful unit more often than not. Dwyer is decent if Corrin married Jakob and inherits the good stuff, otherwise he's just a healer on a pony like Elise but worse. Mid Tier: Midori can go Mechanist, which is a good class for 1-2 range nuking things. She's decent at best though. Siegbert isnt likely to exist before the very late maps thanks to Xander's availability. He's really average I find and strictly inferior to Xander. Soleil is a late joining Laslow without his Rally but with the ability to potentially be made better through skill genetics...not very promising. Can probably go Bow Knight and do decently. Shigure...it's painful to pairup Azura in Drafts! omg she's the worst!!!!! Now that I got that out of my system, Shigure can become a Rally Speed bot later on which is probably handy if he does manage to exist. Low Tier: Forrest is a late joining healer thanks to Leo's late arrival. Velouria isn't likely to be in play and doesn't offer much. Bottom Tier: Ignatius. Yeah...his dad is bad, his paralogue I hear is impossible after a certain point (havent done it myself yet) and hes probably just a pairup bot GK like his dad. Previous versions: [spoiler=v1.0] Axe Wyvern Waifu Tier Top Tier High Tier Upper Mid Tier Mid Tier Low Tier Bottom Tier
  18. To anyone who hasn't heard Lyn's new voice in the mobile game, it got leaked and I have a video of it. G
  19. I don't know if this is just my game personally but I've noticed that no matter how much I increase the skill cap with statues, my amiibos skill cap doesn't go up. However, any other statues will increase other stat caps. Anybody else having this happen?
  20. Story It's been five years since Grima was defeated and two years since the events of Fates. There is a power vaccum on Valm and in Plegia in the wake of the fall of the Valmese Empire. War on the continent is inevitable. Various factions have arisen to fill the void and vy for supremacy. Robin, who has decided to govern Plegia and reform it from the inside struggles to keep the old order in check. Severa, Owain and Inigo, who suddenly disappeared after the final battle five years ago have returned to Ylisse as suddenly as they left. As World War begins, heroes from Hoshido and Nohr led by Takumi and Leo are summoned to Ylisse. Something has happened in Valla. A gateway has opened, connecting the world of Fates with the world of Awakening. It will take the heroes of both worlds to win the war, restore a dead kingdom and stop an old enemy from being revived. Flow of the Game It will be a single game spanning most of Ylisse and Valla, which was a large part of Revelations. It will be comprised of four campaigns: Act 1 - Plegian Civil War: After Validar was slain and Grima defeated, Robin decided to personally take over Plegia to prevent the Grimleal from trying to revive Grima a third time. Old hatreds are not easily cooled. While there are moderates who would prefer peace, there are those within Plegia who would rather see the world burn. Act 2 - Valla's Revival: After the Civil War in Plegia is resolved Several, Owain and Inigo suddenly return after disappearing five years ago. While their return is well-received, there is a development in the world their left behind: Ryoma of Hoshido and Xander of Nohr have offered to help Corrin and Azura restore the recently discovered kingdom of Valla. This is a less-traditional experience as the focus is primarily on redeveloping the realm using Dragon Veins and slaying the remnants of Anankos' forces. The opening of a portal to anoither world heralds the arrival of robed fanatics shouting about the return of their Dark Master. Corrin, Leo, Takumi and their allies decide to travel to Ylisse to enlist help to deal with the new to their world. Act 3 - World at War: Open war has begun on Valm. Ylisse, Ferox and Plegia pledge their support to their allies and join the fight. Things get complicated when envoys from another world enter the fray. After realizing the heroes from Hoshido and Nohr are not their enemy, Robin decides to leave for Valla at once. Chrom promises to finish the world they started and bring peace back to their world with Corrin's help. It's easier said than done as Robin, Leo and Takumi must travel deep behind enemy lines to reach the portal to Valla. At the same time, Chrom leads the coalition in a bid to end the fighting once and for all. Act 4 - Dragons and Humans: After having safely arrived in Valla, everyone is shocked when Robin suddenly transforms into a dragon! After gaining control over this new form, Robin realizes this may be the secret to ending the Grimleal once and for all. Robin, Xander and Ryoma lead their forces against the Grimleal, who have joined forces with the last of Anankos' forces to oppose Nohr and Hoshido. Having embraced the power within, Robin edges closer and closer to giving in to the Darkness. Meanwhile, Chrom and Corrin lead the Shepherds against the shattered remnants of an ancient kingdom... Features The game would naturally feature characters from both Awakening and Fates. Two worlds intertwine as heroes of both worlds join forces to fight a common enemy. The first two acts take place in their own worlds but the crossover begins in Act 3: You will alternate between Corrin and Robin's forces. In Act 4 you will alternate between Valla and Valm. Robin is a playable character. He/She begins as a Grandmaster but promotes to Mystic Hero in Act 3, a unique class that uses Swords, Tomes, and Dragon Stones (Act 4). Robin's unique ability Checkmate allows him/er to cast an AOE Version of Thorton, inflicting massive damage to a group of enemies. Corrin is a playable character. He/She begins as a Vallite Hero, a unique class that uses Swords, Tomes and Staves and the ability Dragon Blood allows him/her to use his/her Dragon form at will. Corrin promotes to Vallite King in Act 3, a unique class that uses Swords, Tomes and Staves. Everyone from Fates and Awakening returns as playable characters. Halfway through Act 3, you will gain the ability to summom reinforcements from Valla or Valm to tip the battle in your favor. A number of new characters are also introduced. Much of Act 2 is defeating foes to reclaim areas from the Vallite forces so people can move in and develop the land. Act 1 is reminiscient of Part 2 of Radient Dawn: It's short but sets the stage for certain events in Act 4. Rumor has it two Annas have been seen. Hmm... Clear Data from Awakening and/or Fates is required to access most of the 2nd Gen Characters from each game. ...The game would also allow the use of Clear Data from Fates and Awakening: If Awakening Clear Data is used, Robin will retain his/her likeness from the Clear Data. References to certain choices made would also be made throughout the game. If Fates Clear Data is used, Corrin will retain his/her likeness from the Clear Data. Clear Data from each campaign will be used. References to certain choices made would also be made throughout the game. Cerain 2nd Gen characters will only be recruitable with Awakening or Fates Clear Data. ...Whew, I wrote to the point I'm exhausted. LOL. I'll update this a bit more tomorrow though. Feedback/Critique welcomed =O
  21. I dropped Fates a few weeks before Sun and Moon came out, and I think I kinda... restricted myself with the Luna!BR and Hard!CQ PMUs, which made them really hard to get back into. I'll not delve further into my reasons why I'm stopping them since this is too long already. For now, I'd like to do a Hard mode Conquest PMU. I'm choosing to play Casual because this is for fun, and I wanna ease myself back into Fates. Also, rules: Avatar is fully customizable (Can be by one or multiple people). 2 picks per person. Children need 1 parent picked. I won't stop you from giving me garbage units, but I do ask for mercy. No Gunter. I know I said I'm fine with garbage, but Gunter is worse than garbage. I may ban the Yato, Brynhildr and Siegfried for myself. Depends on what units I get. Only 1 of each DLC class, and all are allowed. Please don't give me the same unit/class combos as on my old CQ PMU, which are in the spoiler below. There are a good amount removed as I never recruited or reclassed them, so I see no need to exclude them from this. Unit list: Blacksmith!M!Avatar (S-Sophie) Maid!Charlotte Ike!Keaton Malig Knight!Niles (S-Camilla or Beruka, depends on other choices) Master Ninja!Nyx (S-Kaze) Great Knight!Kaze (A+-Silas) Dark Knight!Nyx!Midori Swordmaster!Leo (A+-Odin) Dread Fighter!Selena Adventurer!Peri (S-Niles) Wyvern Lord!Xander Bow Knight!Azura (S-Laslow) Berserker!Odin (S-Charlotte) Maid!Elise Marther (Lodestar!Arthur) Kinshi Knight!Selena!Sophie Thank you, and have a nice day.
  22. Note to mods: If you feel like this topic is better suited for the "Entertainment" forum, feel free to move it there. I wanted to start this topic ever since someone asked, "How would you compare the writing and story telling of Fire Emblem to say Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Orge?" However, I wanted to wait until I had a better understanding of both Fates' story and ASOIAF/GOT (I haven't read all the books, I haven't watched all the episodes, and I haven't played Fates or seen a transcript or Let's Play), but other things in life got in the way (I still don't have a complete understanding of either story), but with the impending Nintendo Switch presentation (and the possibility of a new Fire Emblem announcement), I feel like this might be my last chance to speak up before Fates is overshadowed by a newer Fire Emblem. Anyway, Nintendo seemed to really hype up the story in their marketing of Fates. If I recall correctly, in a Nintendo Direct, they said that Fire Emblem is known for its "complex story and memorable characters." When I think of a "complex story and memorable characters," one of the first things that come to mind is A Song of Ice and Fire, which seems to be the current "gold standard" for fantasy. I'm genuinely curious of what you guys think when Fates is directly compared against ASOIAF/GOT. The most important aspect of a story for me personally is the ending. I prefer a generally bad story with a satisfying ending over a generally good story with an unsatisfying ending, unless the bad story was exceptionally bad or the good story was exceptionally good. I don't really know the ending for any of Fates' three paths, but I can safely guess the ending for the Revelations path, Assuming Revelations is the canonical path, if my guess is correct, then Fates, in my opinion, has a satisfying ending. On the other hand, it seems like ASOIAF might be heading towards an ending where humanity is forced to shake hands and sing kumbayah with the white walkers. If this really becomes the ending for ASOIAF, then I'm going to be very pissed off. The white walkers have no redeeming qualities to deserve such an ending. Even the fucking Titans from Attack on Titan have more redeeming qualities (especially if you know who the Titans really are). One might argue that the white walkers have redeeming qualities that we don't know about yet, but my counterargument is that if GRRM really wanted us to have some sympathy for the white walkers, he would have shown us some redeeming or sympathetic qualities already. And the white walkers are even more villainous in the show than in the books. If GRRM follows through with a white walker kumbayah, then I hope David Benioff and Dan Weiss go down a different path and have Dany's dragons exterminate all the white walkers or something. I wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than the total annihilation of the white walkers, or their eternal banishment to another plane of existence (preferably a fiery Hell). "Well, what if GRRM simply wants to teach us the lesson that humanity is simply too weak to ever truly defeat the white walkers?" Well, I've already spent too much time talking about ASOIAF (and too little time talking about Fates), so instead of answering that question, I'll end it here.
  23. I've looked through dozens of forum posts on several websites, but I can't find the sanswer to a specific question. I want to test some simple cheats in Fire Emblem Fates, nothing to extreme, just some simple convoy editing since grinding and forging weapons in the game is bullshit (Maybe also make some units into funny classes for a short bit). However, I got confused as I looked into the "Shadowban Checklist". If I, for example, had Forrest as a Witch or Subaki as a Wolfskin, would I get shadowbanned if they weren't in my street pass team? Does having them as those classes AT ALL get me shadowbanned?
  24. So I'm almost done with Birthright (Chapter 23 to be exact) and I want to try PVP soon. I don't have access to the DLC but I want to boost everybody's relevant stats to the max. Sadly I've yet to find any current chapters with good stat item enemies. In Awakening I could get them almost guaranteed from Fighters / Beserker risen battles. Was I just really lucky in Awakening or has anyone found a good chapter to grind them on (Reminder I'm on chapter 23). Any good feedback would be appreciated!!
