  1. Every time I think I know just about everything, another anomaly appears in 5 vs 5 wifi battles. I was doing extremely well and had only lost once in the past month and a half. Then along comes a team full of Midori's.... All of them ninjas with maxed out speed and skill. Actually, 4 Midori's and 1 Shigure with all rally skills. The maxed out speed + the rallies were only able to, at best, match my own speed. Here was my team: -Avatar, Nohr noble. Supporting Hinoka as a swordmaster with a maxed hagakure blade. -Setsuna as a ninja, supporting Midori as a ninja. -Xander as a paladin with 57 defense. Hinoka had an avoid of 137, plus "shuriken breaker". That gave her 187 avoid in total against the midoris. Hinokas Hit was 213. Hinoka, supported by MU, gets ready to obliterate one of the midoris who was finally in range. I go to preview my attack, and discover that Hinoka only has a 37% hit rate against midori. The opposing midori does not have swordbreaker. And if this isnt swell enough already, I discover that the opposing midori has a full 100% hit rate against hinoka!!! My own Midori and Setsuna were able to match the opposing team on the battlefield. Xander had like, a 15% Hit rate against them. His defense was very good, but it didnt do any good against midoris Lethality. Heres my question: -I understand that shuriken beats swords in the weapon triangle. Does this really add THAT much to their Hit and Avo in battles???? -What build would you suggest to be able to counter one of these teams? -Would equipping Hinoka with a maxed Dual Katana completely obliterate ninjas? Im thinking of swapping out Xander for kinshi knight takumi with a surefire yumi. Triangle advantage + Movement/attack range. Thoughts? Keep in mind that this was not a castle battle. They didnt have Avo or Hit bonuses from buildings.
  2. This level, while well designed is incredibly fucking annoying and I've been trying to clear it for about a week. How did you manage to get through it? Which side is the best to approach the main hallway from? Tips on taking care of both iago and hans?
  3. ^ If I were to create a ruleset for an online Fire Emblem Fates Tournament, would anyone join?
  4. Just saw this a few minutes ago. There's also one that includes Robin, Chrom, Ike, Tiki, Roy Lucina, Marth, the twins, Micaiah and Ike on a character select stage! It's always nice seeing more FE shirts! :) The artist of the Fates design also made a design for Awakening last year, but I definitely like this one a lot better! http://theyetee.com/
  5. So, I prefer pairing people up based on their support convos rather than stats (I do take classes into consideration, but it's not a huge dealbreaker unless the child wouldn't get any new classes). I've been trying to find someone to hook up with Azama, because he seems like the most difficult to pair up because of his personality? I know he can be kinda wise sometimes but he's also pretty rude. The only people I haven't support grinded for him are Oboro, Hana, Mozu, and Sakura (not sure if I want Sakura to marry anyone though). And from the people I've grinded, Orochi, Azura, and Rinkah have ok supports with him...What do you guys think?
  6. Without going into very many spoilers (especially as I am trying to purposefully avoid them myself), there are some aspects of Fates that I feel are held back by Japanese culture when it comes to a release in the West. I'm not saying one culture is better than the other, but I feel these two facts would not go over very well in the West (and I do think most here feel the same): *Zero and Shara are the only same-sex options. There needs to be at least a few more. Seems a shame the only options are locked into each route (at one each) and happen to be rather psychotic characters. Not to knock on them, but why are the sole two options psychotic? I don't think it would be too hard to write up some of the S conversations and one would think they would just reuse the CGs from the opposite-sex scenes. *Some of the skinship quotes. Namely, the S-rank ones. I love me some fanservice, but some of those go straight into super pervy territory. I mean, honestly, some of your siblings still call you "brother" or "sister" after you already marry them, not to mention a good deal of these quotes are really sexual. In fact, I think this will already be taken out of international releases, but you never know. Good idea? Bad idea? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I just hope it isn't too late, which I think it might be.
  7. ...again, that is. Marriage and Child mechanics are back. To be honest, I'm kinda annoyed that these were brought back. Marrying in the middle of a war sounds rather bizarre IMO, and the fact that I've heard there was confirmation on no same sex marriage in it is also rather devastating (but if it's still there, then I'd hope Nintendo of America is wise and realizes that the majority of the American public is practically cool with that by now). If it were just relationships that could be platonic and romantic based on which characters could S support and such (as another member mentioned in an earlier thread of which the name escapes me), then I'd so much prefer that. I was hoping the child mechanic would be behind us at this point, especially since that isn't what Fire Emblem is about anyway. I was hoping it would be something they keep in Awakening for a while till they decided to bring it back much better than before in FE18 (implying the series even makes it to that point, which it likely will). Child units make the units I originally use feel obsolete and less useful in comparison, which ruins much of the gameplay for me personally. Now that it's back, I'm hoping that it is in no way integral to the plot and that it's exclusive to the Hoshido route so I may gladly ignore it, essentially like Awakening's DLC (of course, if FEF has DLC that adds to the game and benefits my experience, I'll likely purchase it if I can). As you may have already gathered from my rant, I was hoping for Hoshido to be more of a game that would be closer to FE8 2.0 than FE4 2.0, but of course, even with that, it still isn't Awakening 2.0 if we can't reset levels and such. Anyhow, tl;dr I'm disappointed in the fact that these mechanics are reappearing. Now what I'm hoping for is the ability to ignore these for my first few playthroughs and try them out when I feel like it to fully experience the game. How does everyone else feel about these mechanics? Would you have preferred they take them away completely, or expand on them? Do you hope they are plot relevant, or are completely optional? Are there any specific pairings you're looking forward to putting together and producing kids from? Also, how do you think inherited skills will be transferred from parent to child? Any opinion on these returning mechanics and any comment regarding them is acceptable.
