  1. Hello Serene Forest members! So im wondering what to do with Leos son Forrest. Hes so fabulous looking and his mother is Felicia, which is like the most optimal pairing to Leo in Conquest. But what class is best for this child? Id love to here your insight on how to make him a very good unit!
  2. Hey guys, I making a sprite gallery. I would like some feedback to see if they're any good. I'm going to be updating this over time.
  3. I just finished this game... and i'm laughing so hard right now! I wish I was kidding! besides the similar name the game also has wayyy too many similarities to fire emblem. you play as a "warlord" who controls a pokemon thingy in fields resembling fire emblem, along with your allies, who you happen to control. As the story goes on, you recruit unique characters with different pokemon and skills. You can change peoples default pokemon to ones they happen to have an affinity to (somewhat like emblem). The gameplay on the battlefield is fairly similar, only with one attack and no changeable weapons. there are some walkthroughs of it on youtube.
  4. Hello Serenes Forests users! So once again Im having troubles in my game. I followed optimizations guides, and everyone turned out good for now, and I got advice for one of my last uncertain pairings, and this was the leftover bracket.... I don't mind their story, its better than the Benny X Peri one imo, but they are pretty nice together I guess :P So Jakobs fine, its never been anything wrong with Jakob.. Its just Nyx.. What do I do with her? Her stats are ok I guess, but she keeps nearly dying or just dying and I have to restart. Any suggestions to make her and Dwyer better? Nyx stats: 10 str, 20 mag, 13 skill, 18 spd, 8 lck, 11 def, 15 res Thanks and have a great day to anyone who helps!
  5. Hello Serenes Forest users In my FE Conquest game I finished pairing everyone together in a optimal and story wise i liked fashion, people say Odin and Elise are a good pair together, and their conversations and age differences aren't weird compared to some but, I want to make them stronger. So heres my struggle: Since Elise married Odin, she can use a Partner seal to change her class to Dark Knight and Sorcerer, which both seem great but im not sure which too choose. Both are better than Strategist. Her rating is 2str 17mag 6skill 16spd 18lck 5def and 19res atm as a level 1 Strategist Odins a whole other story, he is one of my favorite characters and its my third Conquest playthorugh but his magic is very bad compared to the others. I dont know if i should make him a Sorcerer or keep him as a D.K.. Or maybe even Master of Arms or something like that. His rating is 18str 14mag 21skill 14spd 21lck 20def and 12 res as a level 3 DK And for the sake of a strong and high mag stat and continually blonde Ophelia, what would be best out of these options to optimize her? Thanks to anyone who reads this or helps me out, and have a great day!
  6. Today, I'm doing something I never would have done if not for peer pressure... GHEBFE! Okay, so, essentially, after FE8 came out in the US, some guy looked at it and said, "wow, this Gheb guy is cool". He went on the internet and found others who shared the same opinion. When they finally found enough people, they all said "let's all build a shrine to our lord and savior!"(Gheb was not originally regarded as a Savior, but the more followers Gheb has, the more convinced people became of his nonexistent beauty). So, they all snuck naked into the deep Canadian woods, and constructed a giant wooden shrine in the shape of Gheb. They were all convinced that if lightning struck it, it would come to life as a REAL GHEB. Finally, a thunderstorm came, and the shrine was hit by lightning... but all it did was catch fire and burn to the ground, because it was just shaped wood. And so, they all headed home and decided it would be easier to make this hack instead. Literally none of that was true, because I have no idea what the actual history of this hack is. It was made way before I joined these forums, like before 2010 even. This hack is positively ANCIENT by hack standards. I'm shocked the download is still working, but whatever. Normally I'd link you to it, but you know what? If for some reason you want to play this, you can find it yourself. I don't want to be a part of propagating this hack's legacy... more than I already am by doing this, at least.e Anyways. This is a blind LP, as I know little to nothing about the hack. So, let's get started! PRELUDE TO GHEBFE: GROWTHS:
  7. Hello! For as much as I like simple text-only roleplay, I really, really enjoy games that use a battle system of some sort. It adds a level of competition to the game and removes power play replacing it with min-maxing. Anyway, I made this system and I'm searching for someone to try it with. First of all, let's explain it! Mechanics: We can talk about stats and character sheets later, let's look at the important stuff first. The problem with roleplays by forum is the impossibility to roll dices (unless you create some intricate scripts or something), but I think I got this. Hitting and evading: By defauls, each attack with more than 0% chance to hit, hits. The chance of hitting is calculated with skill, weapon accuracy and all that stuff, more on that later. In order to avoid an attack, a player must spend a number of "evade points" equal to his opponent's hit chance, provided that this is lower than 100%. What are these evade points? Each character has a gauge for basically every thing that, in the games, involved randomness. The evade gauge starts at 30 + unit SPD*2 points and goes up by the same amount each turn, for a max of 150 (so that you can't have someone making almost-impossible evades one after another). Critical hits: Each character has a critical gauge and an anticritical gauge. The critical gauge starts at 20 + unit SKL*2 points and goes up by the same amount each turn, for a max of 150. The anticritical gauge starts at 10 + unit LCK points and goes up by the same amount each turn, for a max of 150. In order to make a critical hit, a player must spend 75 critical points. In order to negate a critical, a player must spend a number of anticritical points equal to twice his opponent's crit chance. A critical hit can still be normally avoided, but the hitrate is boosted by 20% (if the hitrate goes over 100% this way, it's still possible to avoid). Fighting skills: Each character has a skill gauge for every fighting skill he has. Every skill has a main stat and a secondary stat. Every skill gauge starts at 0 and goes up by main stat + secondary stat/2 (rounded up) each turn. In order to activate a skill, a player must spend 75 skill points. An offensive skill can still be normally avoided, but the hitrate is boosted by 20% (if the hitrate goes over 100% this way, it's still possible to avoid). Base sheet: Now that we covered the essential parts, let's see the stat-related part. Class and Skills: First of all, the player chooses a class for his unit. These are the classes currently aviable: [spoiler=Classes]Unpromoted: Sword Cavalier: C Swords, Canto. Promotes to Paladin, Great Knight, Dark Knight Lance Cavalier: C Lances, Canto. Promoted caps are affected by skills, while unpromoted caps are always 20, regardless of unit's skills. HP and LCK are exceptions, always capping at 60 and 30, respectively, regardles of unit's class. At this point, the player chooses one skill as the unit's personal skill. Stats: The player distributes 30* points in the various stats (HP, STR, MAG, SKL, SPD, LCK, DEF, RES, CON). You can't put more than 10 points in a stat. Note that classes have no bases of their own, but some classes have class skills that affect stats. After this, the unit has 1 bonus point for every 3 points spent in HP, LCK or CON. These points are to be distributed in those same stats. Then, 15 more points are added to HP and 5 more points are added to CON. *This assumes unit starts at level 1 unpromoted. Growths: The player distributer 300* points in the unit's growths, in multiples of 5. HP growth gets doubled and, if both STR and MAG growth are 25% or more, they get 5% bonus growths. *This assumes unit starts at level 1 unpromoted. 8. Basically, a fun topic where we give ideas on how to balance the cast of the DS games. We'll begin with FE11's Marth and FE12's Avatar. FE11 Marth is notable for being one of the worst lords in Fire Emblem games. Being swordlocked, low damage output and usually moving fully to get to the throne, he doesnt get lots of chances to get experience. How do you think he could be fixed/rebalanced? As for FE12 Avatar, we all know he/she's the best combat unit in FE12. Having a plethora of class options to choose from at the beginning. Having 8 mini chapters where he/she excels and having above average growths, opportunity to get experience and nice customizable bases. Some of his class choices need some help, while others could definetely be toned down...
  9. I got this idea from a pal of mine named Terrador. Basically, you play through an FE, and you can only use the Lord and people who start as red or green units. Or you can do a variant I thought of, using units who have red or green as their primary color on their design. Merry Christmas, dwellers of Serenes! You can make logs and stuff here if you'd like for fun!
  10. Using a NA 3ds copy of FE Fates can I play with someone with a Japanese copy of fates.
  11. In your opinion, which Hard Mode was the biggest kick in the balls? The thing about FE is that everyone has a different experience playing it, so by all means, there has to be some level of excessive bullcrap any game in the series gave you. Right now, I'm playing FE6 HM. Crying tears of anguish so far.
  12. For this theory, I'll use default Robin's(the one in Smash 4) as reference, since that's the "deafultest" look possible. Hey there! So recently I've noticed something while playing FE13, and it kinda shocked me when I realized it. We all here know that most children in FE13 inherit their father's hair color, right? And since Robin's hair color is up to the player, most children can have any of the selectable hair colors. Now, very later in the game, we discover that Robin is the child of Fauder/Validar, and that becomes quite the plot point, as it explains how Validar managed to make Robin kill Chrom at the very beginning of the game. He was controlling Robin through his blood, which was related to his own. But here's what I noticed. Robin and Validar do not share their hair color at all. ...Quite shocking, I know. This can mean a few things: 1) Robin could not actually be Validar's child Which seems quite an idiotic thing, since the game explicitly tells otherwise to us, but bear with me for a bit. I think that Robin was some random kid that Validar kidnapped and ended up brainwashing said kid to believe that he was their real father. Maybe he saw the potential Robin had to be Grima's Vessel and decided to seize the opportunity, so as to not take risks. Eventually, something happened to Robin, and that something triggered their memories. That and finding out that they had been lied to the entire time made them flee from Validar's reach, only to be found by GimRey (That's what I'm calling the Robin from the future, who decided to accept being the vessel. Thanks shadowofchaos.)in Ylisse and have their memories disabled until later in the game. The shock from GimRey and their memories made Robin faint, only to be found later by Chrom, Lissa and Fredrick. When Validar controlled Robin, it simply was controlling using Grima's power to seize a good vessel for Grima.Since the fell dragon wanted that too, he lent Validar some of his power, so that he could be reborn as GimRey. Now there might be a few errors within this theory, especially the fact that Robin never seems to mention that, nor does Validar or Aversa. Or the fact that this game seems to love plotholes. But it has enough evidence to make it at least plausible, so I guess it's up for you to decide if you'll believe it or not. Now, onward to "thing" 2. 2) It's just a silly plothole, and I should stop thinking too deep. Don't forget that we are still talking about FE13, and it's tightly-written story. This seems to be enough evidence to break the theory too, so yeah. Or maybe... 3) They may use this not-resolved plotline to make another game in Ylisse that follows Awakening. Which seems likely too, since Awakening revitalized the franchise in the West and is the best selling in the series. Who knows? Like point 2, I won't delve too much into this, as it is real-life speculation. Endgame I'd like to invite you guys to share your thoughts in this thread, be it evidence, criticism or any kind of commentary. After all, this is why people like to come to SF...right? I don't know if someone else already posted something like this, but if they did, sorry in advance. I hope we can spark some nice discussion out of this! And who knows what will happen in the future, right? Thank you for reading until here! Have a nice day!
  13. Hello, I was thinking about doing another project. Starting a Tag-Team of a Hack or something like that. A project with more players would be great. Not sure about the game. One contender would be the FE6 Redux Hack, an improved version of the original FE6 Binding Blade. Since I haven't taken part in a Tag-Team yet, I probably would need a few information, how it exactly works. If someone is interested in a Tag-Team and / or has an idea about a Hack, just post your ideas and conditions here please! Since I'm busy with other stuff atm, I'll give you enough time (till end of this month). Maybe I could awaken interest. It would be a nice pleasure to do stuff with other people.
  14. So to be more specific I guess you would rank them by mode because FE has different difficulty modes. I'm bad at FE so this probably isn't going to be a good ranking but interested to see what you guys think. This is from what i've played. FE13-lunatic plus FE12-h3 (have not gotten to play H4) FE 13-lunatic (it's hard but the fact that the avatar can pretty much make the game an easy mode brings it down, irsya told me that avatar can do the same on lunatic plus but have not tried it yet so keeping lunatic plus up there) FE 13-hard mode (I feel it's quite easy early and midgame but towards lategame it gets hard) FE 12- normal mode (i'm so bad at FE that I actually find this hard at times) FE 11- normal (not much to say but pretty easy) FE 13- normal mode (I personally find this extremely easy) please note that i'm not trying to make a tier list or whatever and it's just opinions to see.
  15. Hello there everyone, I'm good ol' Kanethedragon. Currently I'm a student aiming towards making a hit into the game industry, but I still got quite a bit of time ahead of me before that. I'm a passionate fan of Anime as well as video games and am on constant update with the seasons for both industries (even though 90% of games I mostly experience through vids rather than in my hands due to never having the $ for it all.) I have a youtube account that hasn't seen much content from me til recently ever since I started it up back in 2010, and said recent content being added is done through streaming from twitch and then exporting the broadcast. I also happen to know my way around programs like photoshop and illustrator and am a certified associate for both programs (though certainly not an expert.) Other than that, the anime I watch and games I play are varied. I have a relatively decent pc that I use for a few stuff from steam as well as Osu! and FFXIV. I also play Leagues of Legends every now and then if anyone's interested, but I don't get on it too often and I tend to know how to work my best around Ahri and a bit of Ashe and Akali. When it comes to console games, on the Nintendo side I have just recently got into Fire Emblem with Awakening and am currently in the midst of support grinding and netting copies of Limit Breaker to maximize my entire army's stats. I also technically beaten Lunatic, but I never got the children and nearly my entire deployed group died (it's classic) so that's why I'm over-grinding currently so that I truly beat Lunatic and then move to L+ Classic (which I plan on using the free emblem once available to snatch my MU because I am never going to run CH3 ever again without a guide. I needed to pull all the strategy out of my head when I did that on my Lunatic run to not get anyone killed.) As of right now my main unit is sitting pretty nicely with a Dread Fighter +Mag/-Lck Armsthr/Ignis/Lifetak/Aggressor build and holding the Book of Naga, a forged Bolt for Crit and Damage, Mercurius, Vengeance, and a forged Brave Axe for 16 Mt and 80 hit. Outside of FE, other Nintendo console-based games I play include the LoZ series, Rune Factory Tides of Destiny for the Wii and 4 for the 3DS (and hopefully 3 eventually), Smash Bros (only have SB4 on 3DS so far though), Pokemon, Gunvolt, and a few others. I also have a few games on my wishlist for Nintendo consoles which include Fatal Frame 5, Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, quite a few LoZ games, Rodea: The Sky Soldier, KH3D, Eternal Magna, Xenoblade and others you may or may not know of. Continuing with the games, I also happen to be a dedicated Playstation fan of late as well. The starters of this include my current favourite video game franchise of all time Ar Tonelico, as well as other games like Hyperdimension Neptunia, Disgaea, the Atelier series, and I have a profound interest in low-key games for consoles I don't own yet (specifically the Vita) like Operation Abyss, Freedom Wars, Danganropa, GODS EATER and others that I currently don't have their names in my mind. As a denomer, I am somewhat fluent in Japanese (can read some kanji as well as hiragana and katakana) and I am capable of generally translating information from Japanese releases. I also happen to be a huge japan-o-phile/anime culture fanatic, borderline what some may jokingly or seriously call a filthy weaboo. And speaking of that I'll go into my anime interests. As of right now I'm watching shows from this season which include Punchline, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, Kekkai Sensen (or Blood Blockade Battlefront...and I'm REALLY lovin it so far), DanMachi (Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon?), Fate Stay/Night UBW, Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End), Kyoukai no Rinne (RIN-NE), and Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku (Mikagura School Suite). Shows I've watched include Dog Days all seasons, To Aru all seasons, Hayate no Gotoku! up to Cuties, Kill la Kill, Aldnoah Zero (S2 sucked horribly though..music was great), Space Dandy S1, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi Kai, 11eyes, Shugo Chara, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Mouretsu Pirates, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, Sacred Seven, Eureka 7 all seasons, K Project, Kiddy Grade, Tokyo Ghoul S1-2, SAO S1-2, Log Horizon S1-2, Fairy Tail up to ep 10 2014, as well as many others. Basically when it comes down to it, I'm relatively well-versed in anime and have known quite a few that are relatively good but might've been passed up by most and vice versa. And there ya go, all there is to know about Kanethedragon. And if I haven't mentioned it already, I'm a Floridian, so there you are. I also have a rarely used Deviantart under my name as well as a twitter and facebook account which are connected to my youtube and twitch accounts. And with that, I hope to see you all in the forums ;P
  16. So, for every single thing we've heard about FE14, I've become more sure. We've heard about tons of complicated changes, such as the removal of weapon durability in exchange for making all the weapons have some sort of effect, a shield meter and two types of Pair Up, as well as enemy pair-ups... I feel like the new game is going to be VERY complex with it's mechanics, similar to FE5 (what with stamina, dismounting, and all the other stuff the other games haven't had). It could also explain Pheonix Mode, so IS can cater to new players who don't want to have to constantly keep track of the new mechanics. I actually don't fear these changes at all, since I feel that Awakening removed too many mechanics and almost didn't have ENOUGH depth. Any thoughts?
  17. In this topic I asked for your creativity to find some terms about the world of Fire Emblem. There will be different rounds: Characters, weapons, skills, places etc... The main rule: The order of the alphabet has to be followed! Second letter etc. does count as well! This round deals with: Places (continents, conuntries and towns) The target: To find many FE places as possible till the letter Z is reached.
  18. Okay so a few questions. Does Draug make a good hunter or should I reclass him into something else. When should I reclass him? I do have ryan by the way. Thinking i'm just going to keep him archer to sniper. MU is cavalier. Thinking I might reclass to him fighter at some point. Currently on chapter 1 playing on normal. Team i'm mainly using, draug,Marth, MU,Luke,Ryan,(probably going to throw palla there whenever you recruit her), Also generally chipping with cecille.
  19. I don't play a whole bunch of other SRPG games, but I hear from other people that they're a bunch of grindy casual crap. What do you guys think? Is Fire Emblem the best? Or are we the casuals? And before you say TearRing/Berwick Saga, I'm counting those as FE games because that's not the comparison I'm trying to understand.
  20. So I was conceptualizing a possible hack or modification to some FE's at a point where I have some more free time. I was curious what the public thought at large of how to make Knights more of a valuable unit for even possibly LTC stuff (thats a stretch I know). While I know some Armors have their fans and others don't care about overall balance. What do you lot feel would benefit them? More move? Possible canto? (I mean Generals do have some pretty nifty contraptions in the GBA ones like those spring loaded Lance and Axe launchers) More defensive maps? Or just really good bases (see Oswin and Gatrie) What would make them more effective?
  21. The weapon weight influenced the AS (attacking speed) in older FE parts. In FE12 and 13 this mechanic was disabled. Every unit can use its weapons independent on its strength or constitution without any speed penalty. In the GBA games the constitution of an unit influences the attacking speed. To my mind it's kinda unfair for some classes and especially female characters, who always have a lower constitution than males. For example Lyn or Eirika cannot use steel swords without speed penalty same for Pegasus Knights, who want to use steel lances. I personally prefer the mechanic, which exists in some other parts that the strength influences the AS. It's fairer for the classes. Every physical unit can reach the strength of the weapon weight. However it's bad news for mages, who have very poor or even no strength growth (FE11). So it would be probably better, if the magic stat influences the weight instaed of strength. So shall the weapon weight return? And if yes, which stat should influence the AS?
  22. So, I was linked this video by one of my friends on Facebook, and it shows people using Lyn and Knuckles in Project M. It felt kinda mandatory to post it here as nobody has yet made a topic of it, as far as I know, plus it is a FE Forum. It's completely custom, so the models, animations and movesets of Lyn and Knuckles are brand new. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixPRggBP7rc The original video is by bryonato (I'm guessing by the name in the corner), but this is a reupload of it.
  23. Hey guys well i found out there is a glitch in this game that can net you infinite items and well.. natrually I want to do it.. no I need to do it as I am currently uploading video on youtube of me doing a playthrough of this game. And well I want everything to go smooth during this playthrough series so I would like to not have money probelms and equip problems like i did first time around playing this game plus this time I would like to promote all my pegasus knights to dragon knights this time before was just Sasha. So yeah what exactly is needed to pull this thing off correctly? I know the basics Shigen VS Vega on some chapter not sure which chapter that was never explained then get that orb thing that revives dead units.. Then after that get Krisheenu killed?? but when and where? and do I kill her before or after I get the orb? And if I am supposed to kill her after getting said item what chapter is best to do it so I know 100% that the glitch will work? whatever chapter it is it won`t be hard to kill her off Lol she has some of the most fail stats of anyone but I just mostly need to know specific when and where so I can get this thing right.
  24. I have noticed that, since an intsys emplyee mentioned that bsfe should be fe5, there has not been uniformity in the "FEX" numbering system. (for example, vincentasm seems to have been convinced by this remark, as the last site redisign removed all the numbers) As such, i honestly do not know how to refer to any fire emblem games after 4. As using the full name is not convinient, I was hoping that someone could enlighten me as to the correct naming system. Honestly, i am aware that any name question is flame-bait on this forum, but this is confusing me enough that i felt that i had to ask. Thanks
  25. hey guys I am both a fire emblem lover and brony so sometimes I like to put the two together, just sharing what few crossover pictures I've done so far click the pictures for the deviantart pages and their proper resolutions here's a picture of Shining Armor as the black knight as I thought it was a cool idea at the time a request for one of my friends, his pony character Mint dressed up like Leaf these three make a cameo in my FE4 project (the screenshots are outdated) and finally, just finished this one, it's taken a long time but I finally drew one of my favorite characters in FE so if you like the whole pony thing check out the rest of my arts at my various galleries http://lamiaaaa.deviantart.com/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/lamiaaaa/ https://inkbunny.net/Lamia https://derpibooru.org/tags/artist-colon-lamia
