  1. Yes. This is a real thing I'm doing. For my first ever true draft run, I'm doing a 5-man FE6 draft. And the rules are really, REALLY basic. There's only one rule- use your units, or pay 4 turns. That's four turns for every time those units fight, support, or open stuff, and meatshielding counts as fighting. Okay, so there's more rules than that. You've gotta beat Idunn for it to count. And undrafted Thieves can be used to get otherwise-ungettable yet necessarry promotion items. Also, we won't be drafting off Roy, Marcus, Merlinus, the dancers, and Fae. That enough? Still no? Okay, then, three units go undrafted. And NO WARP STAFF. Using the Warp Staff entails a very, very special twenty turn penalty. Sound fair? For the record, I'm using SB.'s ruleset. You could probably gather all of this just from reading that. So... Who wants in? oh yeah. And it's a SOYO DRAFT! Ahaha, this is going to be so much fun! Turn order will be forward, then backward. And I'm shuffling who picks when. I need at least four other contenders though. And you CAN'T force someone to draft two units who are incompatible (basically, drafting Juno for someone means you can't give them Dayan on the last lap).
  2. I am pretty sure we are either getting a fe6 remake due to the fact the team has shown interest in remaking it. Whatever game comes out next tho I want some connection to three houses s i am a big fan for connecting the game's lorewise.
  3. BOSS PALETTES & MUSIC TWEAKS FOR FE6 Click to download! It was always a pet peeve of mine that only like five bosses in FE6 had their own color palettes, and everyone else used generic enemy colors. For all four of you out there who have always wanted this, your dream is now a reality. There are palettes in the game itself for a few early bosses (Damas, Ruud, Slater, Erik, Dory and Debias), but in a display of sheer brilliance by the developers, they're assigned to the characters' promoted versions (which, of course, are never seen, as they're all unpromoted bosses when fought). This small mod properly implements those palettes and adds some original ones for bosses that don't have any. For those who play with animations off, this mod also replaces the earlygame music that inexplicably returns in chapters 15, 16 and 17A. Chapters 15 and 16 now have the Western Isles music, and chapter 17A has the Ilia / Sacae music. This mod makes no changes to the gameplay. Apply the patch to a clean FE6 ROM with NUPS or a similar program. Other than that, please let me know if the mod breaks horribly or if I've missed a palette somewhere or anything else. This is my first (and probably only) mod, and while I'm fairly certain that it should work well, I haven't played through the entire game. BUGS: - IMPORTANT the preparations screen doesn't come up in chapters 15, 16 and 17A. I don't know how to fix it, so I suggest this: keep a ROM with just Gringe's translation handy. Import your save file from the ROM with my mod to that one. Do your preparations in the "unmodded" ROM, start the chapter, and suspend. Then go back to the modded ROM and import the save with the preparations done. Keep a save state at the start of the chapter so you don't have to do it all over again should you have to reset. DON'T just save in the preparations screen and then import the save, that'll mess with the initial formation. The whole process shouldn't take more than five minutes each time. I wish I could solve this issue, but with my very limited knowledge, this quickfix is the best I can do. - Minor visual glitches with the portraits of Scott, Guerrero, Maggie, Rose and one of the generic villagers. I have no idea where they come from, but it's nothing too big. NOTES: - Due to space limitations, Sigune and Guerrero use palettes belonging to playable units (Shanna and Garret, respectively). They suit them very well. - Wagner and Peres have the same palette, as do Erik and Roberts and Kel and Maggie. For the first two pairs, this doesn't cause any problems, but Maggie's sprite has some very minor glitches. Nothing too horrible or distracting, and the palette fits his portrait otherwise. EDIT: I've updated the patch, for all four of you out there who care about it! I wasn't satisfied with the palettes I made. They felt a little too dark and dim, compared to FE6's bright, high-contrast palettes. I've remade all of them, comparing them to ingame palettes to try and make them as faithful to the game's style as possible. If you liked the old ones better, though, the first patch is still up for download. EDIT: Third update! I'm hoping this is the last one. I've made some minor changes to a few of the palettes, and added one for Scollan, after I discovered that Slater and Debias's palettes are identical, so I could use one of their slots for Scollan. Now the only boss that could use a personal palette is Maggie. I've played around with a few ideas, but I can't really think of anything, so the brown outline will stay. Eh, I think it's a pretty good result. EDIT: Fourth update! Okay, now for real, last update. I just made a few tweaks to a few palettes that didn't quite satisfy me. Now that I've played through the game, I think I can safely say that all the palettes are to my liking. Expect no more updates. Thank you, all four of you following this. Version 1 Version 2 Version 3
  4. These version numbers are straight up confusing. Can anyone chime in? I tried to do my own research, but if it means not having to dig through 4 years of posts that are unrelated, i figure I'd try to ask here. I've had the darktwilkitri 10.2 version for years but never bothered to play it until now. I started today and got up to chapter 6 or 7, can i use my save data interchangeably? Is gringe's 1.0 the way to go or is there an even newer version? https://darktwilkitri.thegreatbeyond.net/dtntd_fireemblem6.php
  5. Hello, dear SerenesForest regulars, First of all, I would like to thank this site so much, as well as the PegasusKnight community. The massive treasure trove of information about the series proved invaluable to us; first for discovering the series as players who wouldn't have had the chance to know about much of the older offerings of the series - and second, for the very detailed information about enemies, weapons, and detailed early drafts of translated game text before it was compromised by technical limitations (this goes especially for NES games) I fell in love with the series and took an interest in helping with an ongoing Arabic scanlation of the manga Fire Emblem Hasha no Tsurugi and eventually decided to do the game. The big problem was that game modifications are an order of magnitude more difficult than airbrushing static manga scans, and Arabic script has enough quirks it doesn't lend itself too well to game mods. Most translation patches are for games built for Unreal Engine 4, after an 2016 patch that added full Arabic support, and it's harder to find people willing to add that support from scratch for older games that require that. It's easier to dismiss as impossible. You can download FE6 - Sword of Seals - Arabic patch from here: https://mega.nz/#!Ub40GKjY!-lhoAkR0CvNL-miDGU_437EwAR66qdsrj78ACSx1Nkc Apply to a Japanese FE6 ROM using a UPS patcher. And more… Fire Emblem 1 (This is its link ) Fire Emblem 6 - Sword of Seals (The Binding Blade) As many in the know may be aware of, Fire Emblem games on GBA have a compressed script (except for the unique case of the unreleased official Chinese port of FE6) that uses a Huffman variant. Moreover, as Fire Emblem 6 never got an official English port, it uses Shift-JIS primarily with the fan patch only partially covering it with an ASCII support hack. Besides both edits of the English translation patch (we settled for the second), the massive help that was FEditor Advance (by Hextator and Zahlman) and FEBuilderGBA (by 7743)‎ can't be understated, for it was the reason why the project could continue at all. This game was a massive labor of love. Most translated text was inserted in the game by 2017, but the trials and tribulations of real life sidetracked us a bit, and we were overwhelmed with the massive, soul-crushing, cursed, abominably-written support conversations that were as big as the main story. With just two translators, I don't think a repeat of that will happen and we might just skip them in future projects unless we get more manpower somehow. We did finish those for the record (they took 9 months of the project alone). The last hurdle was menu text needed to play the game (you don't say) but a lot of it was the same text that fell between the cracks and wasn't covered by the ASCII hack. Much help goes to 7743 for helping us out with tips that eventually made it all click and save the project. We released an April Fools day early build of this without the dots on the letters for a quick laugh and intended to distribute the real deal days later, but we discovered last minute text crashes and softlocks in various pieces of text. The prank was noticed by some official Arabic language localizers on social media, and that made our day and probably motivated us for that last lap, so thanks for them. And now here we are. The final patch is now live, as a BPS patch. We also finished the scanlation project for Hasha no Tsurugi wrapping up loose ends from when it all begun. We're really grateful we were afforded the opportunity, the will and the good fortune to finish this project, and for all the good friends we met on that path.
  6. I remember seeing a patch for one of the GBA games that changed UI things, maybe even added the enemy attack range overlay from later games, to make it more convenient to play if you've got used to the modern games. Am I just imagining things, or does such a thing exist?
  7. Hey, you! Ever thought some of the FE6 battle sprites were a little wonky looking? Ever desperately wanted to play the game with the newer, prettier ones from FE7? No? Well I was bored this evening, so now you can anyway! For example: The male Sage from FE6 was a little..... plain, wasn't it Lugh? "Yeah! ..... Am I not wearing pants?" Have no fear, Lugh. There's a new look in town! "Perfect! I'm feeling less of a draft now! Thanks FE7!" There's more where that came from, folks. Let's take a look at Wolt. Well I'll be darned! Now his hair looks like..... Wolt's hair! Let's see how the revamp is treating Ogier. Pretty nicely if I do say so myself! In all seriousness, I have no life. For something you didn't already know, this is meant to be patched over a blank, JP ROM of FE6. I tried to set it up for a pre-translated ROM, but there were some complications I can't be bothered to find the cause of, so japanese ROM it is. That means that the translation is included in the patch, so credit goes to gringe and everyone else who worked on it! https://www.dropbox.com/s/er6ghzpo66mslkw/FE6 New Sprites.ups?dl=0 Have fun gawking at the pretty sprites! (I tested every new animation but knowing me there's probably some bug I didn't catch so come yell at me when you find one)
  8. I made dis. I don't know if people still play this but if you have ideas to improve it, or find any bugs or it's hard to use tell me. Requires Cheat Engine, VBAM (or similar), any FE GBA ROM (all regions seem to work). 1. Open Rom 2. Load chapter 3. Open CE and attach to vbam (the glowing icon) 4. Load table 5. Start enabling things with mouse or space and open submenus with arrow keys, space or mouse. 9. One of my RomHack projects right now uses the FE7 engine, and I want to utilize the CG screens. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in illustrating certain scenes for me at what they consider as a reasonable price. If anyone is interested, I would love to describe what needs to be illustrated and haggle on the costs.
  10. Project "Not Thracia" - A Novice's Attempt at Reworking FE6 Overview Let's be honest...Roy's never felt great to use. He moves very slowly, has a late promotion, and doesn't offer value at the vanguard. Oh, and FE6 hit rates? Ugh! So, inspired by Leif and a few Thracia things, it occurred to a few friends and me that we might be able to change some of that. With nothing more than a misplaced sense of optimism and some faint memories of learning x86 ASM in college, I began this FE6 rework: Project "Not Thracia." Notes: This was designed & tested exclusively on FE6 HM. No custom animations/sprites were added; this is a basic hack with minimal ASM. Uses gringe's translation patch. Patching Instructions Install a UPS patcher from (http://www.feshrine.net/hacking/patchers.php). Apply .ups patch. You'll want to check the "ignore" box for errors! Enjoy! Gameplay Changes I personally love FE6 HM; it's my second favorite difficulty from FE4-SoV, right behind FE12 H4. With that in mind, we set out to try to make a few adjustments while not messing with how the base game plays too much. Here's a few high-level categories we identified: For a complete list of changes made, see this README. Leadership System This was the biggest change to the game I made, and it takes two things into account: FE6 support grinding is slow and tedious for the efficient player. FE6 hit rates can be janky. Unit Calibration Here are some of the more interesting changes that have been made and a brief discussion of the thought processes behind them. There are a few that I didn't bother to go into detail here, see the README for the full list. Weapon Calibration Some weapons have atrocious hit rates, but buffing these also powers up enemies that use them. For example, I wanted to make Short Bows a little scarier/useful, so they've got +5 to hit from vanilla. Other weapons, like the Steel Bow, are rarely enemy-equipped, but are important for the player (e.g. Steel Bow for Sue), so that has a +5 to hit as well. See the README for the complete list! Links [v2 Patch download] [v2: README + changelog + credits] A big thanks to the folks on the HMNG discord and the FEU discord for helping make this foolish dream of mine come true. FAQ (gathered from Reddit thread) Q: Will you be making any additional changes to this hack? A: If the hack is received enthusiastically, then, yes! Q: Will you be supporting the other translation patch? A: If interest leads to another iteration, I could look into rebuilding these changes onto the other patch, but it's tedious work. I'd need motivated testers to make sure the build is stable and bug-free. That being said, every change and both ASM routines are accessible and documented on Github. There's nothing stopping anyone with the right skills from rebuilding the patch. I'd be happy to support anyone who'd want to take the initiative to do that. Q: How can I support the hack? A: If you like what you see and/or you're interested in helping tune a next iteration, the best thing you can do is give the hack a playthrough and get in touch with me. I don't plan on working on this anymore, besides emergency bugfixes, but enough interest could change my mind. Naga bless, and have fun! Q: Is this compatible with Leafy's FE6 Recolor project? A: Yes, it is! When patching, you'll want to check the "ignore" box. Q: Which translation patch does this hack support? A: gringe's!
  11. Hello, I have just joined these forums and I have some questions that I'd like to ask of the good users in the forest. I am in the idea phase for a fan game and have been working on it very slowly for a few years, and it may never be complete due to my incompetence when it comes to learning how to code and stuff like that. My first question is in the title: Geneology, Awakening, or Fates. Which has the better system of Inheritance? For Context the fan game takes place 20 years after Binding Blade and Sacred Stones, and feature the children of the characters from those games. I want to use the Inheritance system to help me build the characters' base stats and growths. I am willing to provide any information needed to help answer my questions.
  12. So on my first run through this game (on a reproduction cartridge, not emulator) I got a glitched Hugh? Mind you this did happen over a year ago, just curious about this. I only realized he had glitched stats when I checked him on chapter 19B. His Magic and Skill stats were both maxed out, but all of his other bases were normal for the price I bought him for, which was the lowest possible. Of course I used him from that point on, especially after figuring out he was Canas' son. But just wondering if this is a common glitch, or if anyone else had similar experiences.
  13. Okay...So, first things first: English is not my main language, so...be ready for some erros, ok? Now, to the main question: Why's my Merlinus don't getting any type of Battle Animation? I'm trying to make a hack room where he's going to be a cavalier, but I already tried everything: Changed his class to cavalier, tried to make the wager into a cavalier, put freaking cavalier animations on the wager, also tried with others classes, etc. but nothing of those worked! What's his problem anyway? I need to change a specific ''number''? By the way, I'm using FEditor.
  14. Hey, everyone! Recently came back after many years away and decided to see if I could (for once) learn how to properly make a hack. I'm working with a FE6 rom for this project. Got a couple questions that I hope will be simple to answer, so I'll keep it brief. 1. When moving tables to other parts of the rom for expansion, do the following areas still hold true as "free space"? (This is taken from the FEditor documentation.) If so, can I simply move and repoint tables here with no issues? What about the "auto patching system"? Is that referring to FEditor's autopatching? 2. How does FEditor WORK exactly, as far as free space goes? I've read the ultimate tutorial and scoured the FEditor documents as well as posts on this site, but I can't seem to find a straight answer. Might be there somewhere, but I sure can't find it. I've heard that it automatically seeks out free space when you insert custom animations and portraits over the normal limit that the game has? Do I need to move animation or portrait tables as well? I intend to import a number of animations that exceeds the current number of animations in the game. FEditor lets me do so, but I'm not sure if it's using free space to do it, or overwriting something else important instead. I really want to make sure I do this right and avoid mistakes in the future. 3. (P.S: I read somewhere that FEditor doesn't like FE6 and that editing with it is somewhat difficult? Is this true? If so, what issues should I expect?) Thanks a lot! EDIT: I should mention that I am using the newer FE6 translation patch as well. This one:
  15. Preface: This was a short, spur-of-the-moment bit of writing I did a few years back. It's not long, it's nothing phenomenal, but I am actually somewhat fond of it for its sparseness. Inspired by the true ending of FE6, and I had this perception of Idunn as a broken, lost soul, with a confused and one track mind, after being made what she is. The grammar and flow are deliberately broken up to capture the confusion, it's not just sloppy writing. I figured i'd share it, not sure for what reason exactly. It is the only FE based free writing I've done.
  16. I had a crazy headcanon the other day and wanted to see what SF thought about it. Occasionally, I find myself wondering what the other side of the Dragon's Gate looks like. We never actually get to see the other side of it. BUT there is one other location in the series that we know of called the Dragon's Gate: The one in Fateslandia. What if Fates is set in the future on the other side of Elibe's Dragon's Gate. We do know that both Dragons and Humans lived past the Dragon's Gate which matches up with Fates' world. The Dragon's Gate exists in both Elibe and Fateslandia, and Fateslandia - as far as we know - lacks any other ties to other places (save for dimensional travel). Does anyone have any opinions on this? Thoughts they could add to this? This possibility blew my mind when I thought of it, even if it is just strung together by a few coincidences. I really wasn't sure which section to put this in, but figured I'd put it here given that there are two distinct Elibean games to pull from vs Fate's three variations.
  17. I am looking to play Dunal's ReDux patch of FE6 on hard mode, but their link to the save file that has hard mode unlocked is broken. Does anybody happen to have a save file they could share with me that has hard mode available? Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question; feel free to redirect me to where I should post if this is the wrong place. Thanks much!
  18. So yes, as I'am garbage at Fire Emblem (I only ever completed FE7 at ENM...), I decided that it would be a good idea to torture myself and play the hardest Fire Emblem game available on GBA. As this is my first ever (full) playthrough of this game I hadn't unlocked Hard Mode, so I'll be playing on Normal Mode. To most people this mode is easy, not for me however. I have no idea hwo to tackle the chapters in this game, the only thing I know is how roughly each character good is. Let's get into this... Anyway that's all for today, hope you'll enjoy! And for those of you who are wondering about my nuzlocke, I won't be doing it anymore as I have a new computer and my old has been taken away. See you later and have a great day/night/wahtever the **** your time is
  19. So im still trying to figure out how to go about this. I want to add fe7 and maybe some fe 8 spell into fe 6. Could someone give me some tips or point me in the right direction?
  20. In my last casual playthrough of FE7, I couldn't stand the dialogue font. Far too tall for how thin it is. With my experience messing around with roms over the years, I decided I could fix it myself. This is a personal QOL hack I made for myself, but I figured sharing it with others would be a great service. I started off by importing Sacred Stones' font. Unfortunately, I then discovered what a typographical nightmare that font is. Irregular x-heights make reading very uncomfortable, especially as a fast reader. So I made several edits to make it more palatable. Dialogue font x-heights have been normalized. The lowercase "y" is less thin. Menu fonts are also slightly modified and have had x-heights normalized. The lowercase "t" is taller. As I created it for my casual playthrough, I was able to playtest it from start to finish (Lyn Normal -> Eliwood Normal) with no issues. Here are some screenshots: FE7 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to a US FE7 ROM) Of course, I wasn't done there: there were still two other Fire Emblem games I've yet to play that feature the same crappy fonts. Well, I'm glad to announce that I have font patches available for both Sacred Stones and Binding Blade! I haven't had the chance to test either of these to a great extent, so let me know if you come across any problems. FE8 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to a US FE8 ROM) FE6 Font Revamp + Text Crawls v1.0.xdelta (Apply to Gringe's FE6 Translation v1.0) The following patch works on both the current fantranslation and the old one. It's missing text crawls, but it is functional. FE6 Font Revamp v1.0.ips (Apply to any English-patched FE6 ROM) Because this hack only modifies font graphics, almost all romhacks should be compatible! If you would like to use these font modifications in your own romhacks, feel free to do so! Credit is highly appreciated, but not necessary. Explicit permission is not needed, but I'd love to hear if you're planning on using these. I hope you are able to get as much out of these as I have!
  21. Last night I had a weird dream. On the way between chapters 12 and 13, Dorcas has a dream about Zephiel becoming a madman and taking over the world (cough, fe6, cough), so he tells Hector. The two wonder about it, and ask Hannah when she joins the company, eventually realizing it's a vision and that Zephiel must die; however, that wouldn't fly with Eliwood, hence the name of the topic. The dream ended before Hector and Dorcas actually killed Zephiel, but all I remember for sure was that Serra kept trying to figure out their Ultimate, Top-Secret Plan to Kill Zephiel so she could blab to Eliwood or whatever...
  22. Hello everyone, so I've recently been working on a remake of fe6. Basically fe6 ported to fe8. I'd like to think your opinion about it. This project will include; -Better text -QoF patch (even though I'd love to have more mechanics like a strength and magic split) -Display all weapons patch -more weapons (like Noble Rapier etc.) -Blinking frames for the portraits and recoloured and lastly! -nothing here have some screenshots
  23. Hi guys, it's NeoVerdin. This is the feedback thread for my story. Link to the story Edit: I figured out how to add buttons, yay! But the original link back to the story is still there above the button. If you like, hate, or want to comment about the story, feel free to post in here. As stated in the author's note, I will post it in ff.net as well, but my priority is here, so expect a few days of lag over there if you see me posting new story content here. Also, if you have any constructive criticism about the writing itself, I would love to hear from you. My posting will be pretty infrequent because of grad school, but I'll see what I can do!
  24. Author's Note: Hi guys, I've finally finished the first part of my first fanfiction (well among, several ideas I originally had between FE7 and FE6). Though I'm not a prolific writer, I hope the read is still enjoyable. I've recently decided to join ff.net as well, so this story will be posted there. However, I've decided to have my story posted here first. Moving onto the content, this story takes place post-FE7, though the preclude does contain a large portion of how FE7 has ended. While future chapters will contain more original content, this is a warning to those who have not yet played the game and wish not to spoiled to turn back. For those who stayed behind, have fun! Link to feedback thread Edit: I figured out how to add buttons, yay! But the original link to the story's feedback thread is still there above the button. Prelude – The End of the Beginning The Dragon’s Gate, the Isle of Valor Bouncing off of the ancient temple walls, the sound of steel clashing and the cries of war animals rippled throughout the desolate battlefield. Sword onto sword, spear onto spear, Nergal’s remaining morphs had fought desperately to their end despite their master’s demise. Amidst this chaos, the young lord of Pherae named Eliwood made his way up the stairs as the last remaining fire dragon musters up its remaining defense. Not willing to give in without a fight, the red dragon let a deafening screech that could heard throughout the chamber. While the deafening sound had briefly stalled Eliwood, skillfully evades with the assistance of his mount, heavy blows from the creature’s sharp talons. Bringing it head back for a large attack, the dragon huffed letting out a giant wall of fire towards the young lord that was rushing up the stairs. As his eyes widened, Eliwood let out a loud scream as his hold onto the legendary weapon Durandal tightens. “Ahhh!” Having gained momentum enough momentum his horse leapt high into the air for one critical blow. With a clean cut, dealt the dragon a fatal wound as it shrieked in pain. Wailing rampantly before its own death, the dragon knocked over a massive stone pillar that had been supporting the Dragon’s Gate. From the uncontrollable swarm of dust and debris, it quickly engulfed the young Lycian lord. Hector, Lyn, and Nils, who had just made their way towards the Dragon’s Gate fighting together were shocked when they witnessed Eliwood’s mount came crashing before their eyes. With the person in question nowhere in sight, shock quickly turned into horror. Both shouting out their friend’s name, they hurried towards the piles of debris atop of the stairs near the still active gate. Just as the last morph which Hector and Lyn had fought was preventing them from proceeding any further, the Ostian lord roared. “You will NOT get in my way!!” Enraged by the morph’s actions, Hector took a powerful swing at the enemy with Armads, which broke the morph’s durable guard. Taking advantage of the opening Hector had made, Nils blew his flute to strengthen his companions with the blessing of Thor’s Ire. Lyn stepping forward with the Sol Katti quickly approached the morph. With the morph still disorientated from the strike Hector had dealt, Lyn dealt multiple slashes of her own, striking the morph’s vitals with pin-point precision. But even as the minion fell to the floor, everyone, without any other thoughts, they continued up the stairs to the pile of rubble that sat by the Dragon’s Gate. Upon reaching the debris, both lordlings and Nils breathed heavily as their body attempts to recover both from their fight against the morphs and their long trek from below. Exhausted, Nils was the first to slump down, dropping his flute in the process. Stricken with denial, Nils was at a loss of words, uttering, “i-it…can’t be…Lord Eliwood, he…” Though not as severe as Nils, Lyn too was struck with fear. “Gr…” Clutching his fists, Hector placed Armads beside the mound of rocks that stood nearly twice his size. Having disarmed, he began grabbing the rubble with his hands. “Come on buddy, don’t you dare die on me! Don’t you dare forgotten our oath!” He muttered as the Ostian Lord began to claw through the pile of rocks. Not in the mood to use pretty words to comfort his companions, instead he did what he had always done. “Snap out of it, both of you! Lyn, I never knew you as someone so weak!” Flaring up from his insult, Lyn bite her lip, “Hector, you take that back!” Without looking at Hector, Lyn began to remove rocks with her own two hands repeating, “I won’t lose.” With a grin in his face, Hector was pleased that his rouse had managed to get her confidence back. Even Nils who was beginning to tear up was helping out with the smaller debris. Though it was not like Hector himself remained completely detached from his own emotions, but he had to keep a strong demeanor for everyone’s sake. But without any response from the pile itself, Hector was deeply afraid of the what might have happened to his best friend. It was then, when the bard noticed the rubble in front of him began to move. “L-Lord Hector! Lyn! Over here!” The boy responded, catching the attention of both lordlings. Stepping back from the debris, a large stone stab began to tilt towards the side, revealing a red-hair lordling underneath. With the protection of his Divine Weapon being lodged deep into the stairs, it managed to stop the heavier debris from falling onto Eliwood. Hector and Lyn’s actions allowed Eliwood to worm himself out of the rubble. Falling over as the stone stab finally gave in to his strength. As regained his composure he coughed, accidently breathing in some of the dust that were floating around. “Lord Eliwood!” Nils cried out in relieve. “I’m here…!” Eliwood replied, trying to clear his throat from all the dust. “I’m…right here-!!” Just as he answered Nils, Hector began to roughing up Eliwood’s hair. “You little rascal…” Hector quietly growled. “Don’t you ever pull something like that again.” Eliwood let out a light-hearted laugh. “Alright, alright.” Though Hector, Lyn, and Nils haven’t noticed, the battlefield began to quiet as their band of friends and allies had finally defeated the last of the morph below the flight of stairs. Seeing that Nils and their lords were alright, they began to celebrate their final victory against Nergal and his plot to open the Dragon’s Gate. Eliwood, having been rescued, noticed Lyn, who had been silent the entire time, stood quietly behind Hector and Nils. Although it was supposed to be a joyous moment, Eliwood could see the Sacaen’s troubled face, though he couldn’t tell what was going through her mind. “Lyndis?” Eliwood called out. Turning around both Hector and Nils could see Lyn with one of her arms wrapped around her stomach. “Lyn?” Nils asked, “what’s wrong?” Lyn shook her head. Following up with her response, Hector asked, “Aren’t you glad that Eliwood’s okay?” Lyn shook her head again, though this time she finally spoke. “I am overjoyed. I really am.” Baffled with her response, Hector came over to his friend. “…you don’t look overjoyed.” “I-it’s…it’ just…,” Lyn replied, stuttering for the first time, “it’s just that I froze up when I thought Eliwood has…” Gripping her arm, she continued. “If it weren’t for you…Eliwood, what would have happened to-…?” Feeling a firm grip on her shoulder, Lyn looked up seeing Hector shaking his head with a smirk. “H-Hector?” “What? That’s it?” Hector laughed. “You helped out in the end right? You’re not that weak, right?” Lyn could see that the blue-haired lordling was trying to cheer her up from her slight misstep. Lightly tugging the female lordling towards Eliwood, Hector urged Lyn to see their friend. “Go on,” he replied with a light-hearted smiled. Lyn were surprised to finally see the softer side to him. “Hector, wait. I…” Before Lyn could compliment him for what he was doing for her, Hector gave Lyn a light-hearted pat on the shoulder, causing her to stumbled. Though it was originally well-intended, it turned out more of a shove than a push, causing Lyn glare at Hector at what he had just done. “I take that back. You’re just a big brute.” Bothered that his kindness was met with criticism, Hector retorted with frustration. “Hey, I was just trying to help! Right Nils?!” With Nils backing out from their fighting, Eliwood laughed wholeheartedly seeing that his friends were back to their usual shenanigans. Bramimond, who had just teleported back into the chambers with the unconscious Ninian after the dragon had fallen, silently witnessed to the scene from the background heard footsteps approaching behind him. Turning around, the dark mage could see Athos and the celebration that was taking place in the stairs below. With cheers, hugs, and kisses, everyone was relieved that everything was finally over. Despite their initial disagreements in helping humanity, Athos was grateful that his old friend for everything he has done. Without his assistance in unsealing the sacred weapons from their resting places, Athos feared Nergal would have triumphed, and humanity would be lost. “Bramimond, friend. I couldn’t thank you enough you for you help.” Mirroring both Athos’ voice Bramimond was calm in his reply, reaffirming their their long held friendship. “I want nothing more than to help a friend in need.” Athos seeing the blue-haired woman resting in Bramimond’s arms, he asked given out hints of concern, “how is she?” Looking down the person in his arms, Bramimond replied, “…though I cannot speak of her mind, I can assure you that her body and soul has returned to their original state.” “And you?” Hearing Athos’ response, he nodded. “I am fine, old friend. Though I have expended most of my magical reserves, they’ll replenish with time.” Relieved, Athos warmly placed his hand on Bramimond’s shoulder. Turning around to see Nils and the three lordlings, Athos remarked with grief. “This really takes me back, Bramimond. That night before the battle at the Temple of Dragons-.” Finally noticing the waning strength of his old friend, Bramimond interjected. “…Athos, you…” Shaking his head, Athos answered his friend. “…With Nergal gone, their future is bright…please Bramimond. Look after them for me.” Not far from Eliwood and his friends, Athos left Bramimond and Ninian behind to approach them. “Well done, brave successor to Roland. It’s finally over.” While his remained speech held firm and assuring, Bramimond could tell Athos was barely holding onto himself. “Finally, everything is…” Right before he finished his statement, he collapsed onto the floor. “Lord Athos!? Eliwood responded in shock. Surprised by his collapse, Hector was the first arrived by the old sage’s side. Gently lifting the elderly man from the hard floor, he commented, “Hey Greybeard, this isn’t funny. We had just won! What’s the meaning of this?!” With that remark Athos gave out a laugh before turning his attention for the young boy that was holding on to his arm. Athos had always treated Nils like the grandchildren he never had. For Nils to see his benefactor must have been heart-wrenching. “Please…please don’t go…” He plead. “Nils!” Hector rebuked, causing Nils to flinch. In seeing this, Lyn were quick to the young boy’s side, placing her gently hands on the boy’s shoulders. “Nils, it’s alright, everything will be okay.” Trying to comfort the grieving boy, she looked at Nils in the eye before turning and reprimanding the Ostian lordling for his insensitivity. “Hector!” In realizing his rash action, Hector gritted his teeth. “Tsk…” With a weak, but soft smile, Athos himself placed his hand over Nil’s hand to comfort him. “Although the time we spent was short, I was pleased to have both met you and your sister. It was thanks to you that I was able to finally see my wish come true. That dragons and human could exist outside of Arcadia…” “…Lord Athos…” Nils whimpered. With a centuries-old mastery of dark magic, Bramimond had long lost his own personality. Though it was likely to be the influence of those that was around him, Bramimond was uncharacteristically concerned over his last remaining friend. Seeing Athos’s collapse only confirms his concerns over his health. “Athos…” To not know whether or not his concerns for Athos were genuine or not, it must have been cruel to Bramimond, especially since it was in fact the last, Bramimond would ever seen his friend. On the other hand, Athos was just relieved to have a dear friend by his side before his dying breath. “…I’m sorry Bramimond…ha...looks like I’ve exhausted my strength. I…I’ll die before you, friend.” “…” He bent over to Eliwood to gently handed Ninian to the red-haired lordling. “Ninian!” Eliwood replied. Standing back up, Bramimond silently nodded, giving Athos’ his response. “I may well follow you soon, old friend. For now…I will sleep again.” Athos sighed. He knew from the start that it would difficult to convince Bramimond to take a more proactive role as a guardian to Elibe in his place. But that’s just who Bramimond was as a person. Shifting his attention to the three teenage lordlings, he continued. “Eliwood…Hector… Lyn…I’ve lived a long, long time. But now…I’m done. Do not grieve. Soon, I will be with long-absent friends…I have no regrets.” As Bramimond continues to quietly watch over them, Elwood cried out with Ninian still in his hands. “Lord Athos!!” Catching his breath, the old sage continues, “now…my friends...my family…let me give you a parting gift…as I lay dying…I see many things…I see the future…” From this Bramimond could see the change in Athos’ demeanor, distress by what he had just seen. “Oh…why? Why…is this not now…? Neither Bramimond nor I…will be…here…to help a land…in need…” Though scared of what the future has in store for them, Lyn couldn’t help but to ask. “What…do you see?” Lyn questioned the dying sage. “An evil star…rises in Bern…All of Elibe will once again awash in blood…but do not fear. Once again, Lycia brings hope. Children of fire…everything…” With that, Athos, one of the eight legendary heroes of the Scourging has passed on. As Athos mutter his final word, everyone near Athos fell silent as Nils began to weep. Lyn, who was trying to fight back her own tears, softly caressed his trembling shoulders. Breaking the silence, Eliwood silently remarked, “Lord Athos…even at the end…he thought of us…” “Greybeard…” Hector miserably muttered. Shaking her head, Lyn replied, “look, both of you…Lord Athos…It’s almost as though he’s smiling. Isn’t that right, Nils?” Sniffling, Nils softly nodded, “yes.” While Eliwood and his friends were trying hard comforting each other in their time of loss of a great mentor, Bramimond on the other hand was silently distraught. With the passing of Athos, Bramimond became the last remaining of hero on the continent. Again, Bramimond tried to attribute this to the people he was hearing around him, but the dark mage was taken aback by what Athos said before his death. “Bern…” He silently muttered to himself. With his final promise to Athos has fulfilled, he decided to leave before the feeling of grief could overwhelm him. As the rest of Eliwood’s party began to walk up to see what has just happened on the stair above, Bramimond quietly himself slips away from the Dragon’s Gate without uttering another word. The Shrine of Seals, Bern “…” Having teleported out of Valor, Bramimond could see a familiar building standing in the distance. Having expended most of his magic restoring a lost soul, the man had resorted to talismans and magic circles for traveling great distances. Standing on top of one of those magic circles, he took out from under his robe with a worn-out red tome. Opening it up to the first page, his other hand gently touched the equally worned-out words that were written on it. To my prec s fr end and riv Br mond, In celeb ion to your m tery over elder ma , a gift you ld sur ly like. Our f t mai c tome tog er. At os Handling book with great care, he slowly closing the book, bringing it back under his robes. Step away, Bramimond silently made his way towards the building. Lying unconsciously in front of the massive structure, a woman(?) who’s torso had been lazily bandaged up could be seen resting by stairs.
